Despite some recent, and all be it false, bad reviews this is my favorite shop. The workers are friendly, and go above and beyond to explain what work needs to be done now and what can be done at my next visit.Prices are competitive, and Dakota will do his best to give you the best price possible. The technician in back, Joe, gets the work done as quickly as possible and right the first time.When it comes to a break down or a simple oil change, Midas is where I go. And I say you should go there as well.

I dropped my car off and didn’t hear from them until 2 hours before they closed (my husband and I got different stories as to why). He paid for the repair and when I went in to get my car, again I had to call them, I was told I had a balance over $51.I will NEVER go there again, and as there was a woman waiting for the manager Keith to discuss a bill that was more than double the estimate given, I’m not the only one who has had this experience.

Horrible, horrible, horrible, not coming back.I booked an appointment 1 week in advance for an engine and transmission oil change as well as tires, and I was told, for sure, wouldn’t take longer then 2 hours.Well, it took them 4 hours, that’s right, I waited 4 hours for a simple oil and tire change, and the young guy changing the tires couldn’t move any slower.Simply horrible, I haven’t seen anybody doing their job this slow before…And just so you know, they did respond asking me to reach out, which I did, Its been 2 months, ant they never really reach out, replied or did anything whatsoever, this response from them that you can read below, is just here to make you believe they really care about making things right or making you happy. They Dont!!!

Took my 08 scion in today, the Rochester hills location was closed and 12mile 75 gave a 10% discount for coming out. The manager Keith was up front, no BS an gave me 2 quotes for my work. Customers beware! After they did an oil change, the car started leaking when we were parked in a gas station. They did a horrible job. Cost us a fortune on a 17,000 mile car. They DID NOT do the oil change the right way. Come on mechanics dont you know how to do that properly.If you want to have your car by a mediocre mechanic then by all means go there. Thats just our experience but you can do whatever you want.

I made an online appointment at Midas on 12 mile on the same day I wanted to get service as I was prepping for a trip up north and they were able to fit me in for an oil change, radiator check and also to look at a rattling I had going on in my exhaust. They got me in right away once I arrived and started looking into things within minutes. They were able to identify the issue with the rattling which sounded like loose change in there which was odd! After cutting the pipe away they found a piece of flex pipe that another mechanic left in there during a previous service which should have been removed according to the Midas team. Im grateful it wasnt more serious but they gave me options before even knowing what the issue was to save me time and money in the worst case scenario.They did an oil change, cut open my exhaust, removed the piece of pipe, welded my exhaust back together and checked out my radiator in about an hour! Very impressed with their service and timeliness.They also didnt try to sell me on anything I didnt need (which happens to me a lot as a female) and the manager Keith let me hang out with him in the office while I worked on my laptop and was very friendly and conversational without being annoying :) They even let me use my coupons on labor costs for the exhaust work and the oil change was the most reasonable rate I have seen in the area.I will definitely be back to this shop for all my oil changes in the future and for quick looks at my vehicle!!

This Midas has gone above and beyond to make their customer a satisfied one. I had returned a second time because my tail pipe had again broken away from my muffler. After looking at the problem they decided I needed the tail pipe completely replaced from the muffler at no cost. Because of this I will inform my circle of friends who will let their circle of friends know the excellent service I received. Hopefully this will bring business to Midas. Thank you Midas for caring about your customer.

This shop does dishonest repair. They charged a young girl $800 to repair a Exhaust on her car that was only $100 part..They took a vantage of her because she was a girl and didn’t know any better

Great price. Great people! Very friendly and professional. Dakota went the extra mile and helped me out. Not only did he do an awesome job on my exhaust. He fixed a squeak I was having at one of my wheels. Also added a weld at a crack in a pipe leading to the catalytic converter. That would have lead to a serious problem for me, but he fixed it! Dakota is super knowledgeable. Hes great at what he does. He alone will be the reason I come back for repairs or oil changes. Many many thanks to him and Joe I believe his name was (sorry). I called around to all local shops to have a front end alignment done and everyone told me 4 to 6 hour wait if they could even get me in at all. I called Midas and they were able to get me in right away and for a little less than Belle tire would have charged. Excellent work guys! Keep up the great work!

Brought my lifted Ford in last week. I kept seeing a lifted Ford in their parking lot, so I figured they could assist me better then the previous shops I tried. Front and rear shocks were blown out, and no one was able to help me. They were able to find the parts I needed at this store, at a fair price too! Installed same day!

They do good basic diagnostic. Reasonably priced. Slightly rough as I saw the serviceman opening door in congested space and touching the metal pillars, no damage or scratches though. But recommend to visit for immediate needs.

Keith and his staff are amazing! While driving the other day my exhaust got extremely loud. I have had exhaust work done on previous cars and was dreading it. I was surprised to find out it was simply a exhast clamp that had rusted out. He couldve charged me 100s and told me i needed this and that, but he is a very honest man (and i was in and out in a half hour)! I will definitely be going back to this shop for all my car care needs! Highly recommend this midas.

Coldest day of the year -30 degrees and on my way to work my front tire blew. I made it to Midas and asked to borrow their jack. They could not let me use it out of insurance requirements. But someone got my car jacked and my spare put on. Very very grateful

This place is a joke. I brought my car in and they couldn’t figure out why my car wasn’t starting so they said I would need a new engine for $8,000 which wasn’t logical since the car is only worth $4,000. Then they demanded we get the car out of their lot immediately after paying for them to check it out. Incredibly rude and inflexible manager, Todd. I wanted to at least try and save the brand new tires on my car and they said they would be able to swap them out with my mother’s tires for $140 and when we got there, they said they wouldn’t do it. Todd was pretty rude on the phone. He was talking down to me and he was dismissive and treated my mother even worse in person. He definitely needs an attitude adjustment. I don’t know what changed at this location as I didn’t have any troubles when I had my car brought in for a new alternator but perhaps they were only nice and professional because they were having me make a repair that wasn’t really needed. If their treatment of customers is driven by how many dollars you are giving them in that moment, it is very likely that they are unethical in how they bring in those dollar amounts. Definitely will not be back to this place.

I used to always go to this Midas but since they hired these new people, I stopped going because the quality just isnt there for the prices they charge. A few months ago I went in for a regular oil change like I do every 3 months. There was this new guy there. He did the oil change. A month later my oil light popped on, I checked the oil, it was very low, almost empty. I put some stop oil leak in there and continued rolling for a couple more months. I took my car in for another regular oil change, I mentioned the oil leak, but nothing came to fruition about it. The same guy did my oil change and sent me on my way. A couple weeks later, my car started acting up, unrelated to the oil change. I took my car in and there was a different, brand new guy there and he gave me a quote for almost $1,000. Whoa. I decided to take my car somewhere else to get a second opinion. And when they looked at my vehicle, they said the problem was totally different from what Midas said the problem was and they fixed it for several hundred dollars less than what Midas wanted for a non-existent problem.They even told me where the oil leak was coming from. Apparently, when the guy did my oil change he overtightened the screw so since it wouldnt tighten any further, it became loose, no longer able to be tightened, causing oil to leak. The messed up part is, the same guy did my oil change those two times and the second time he did my oil change, he had to know that the screw was loose when he couldnt tighten it, and that oil was leaking. Needless to say, I stopped going to that Midas, even though they did do some quality work, just not with these new guys, and I started going to the shop that got my car back and running order. My tip, be careful who works on your vehicle there. Also, make sure Allen, the manger is there. Hes nice and makes sure everything is good with your vehicle. If only he was there these days.

Best customer care with automobiles ive ever had!

Diagnosed and fixed the death wobble in my Ford F-250 that not even the dealership could figure out. The manager was kind and I felt he actually cared about my truck, so much that he was the one who diagnosed it and fixed it for me. Found out later he was an ex Ford Master tech. Great price too! Ill never go anywhere else now. Thank you Dakota!

This was my first time coming to this location. I have had very positive experiences with MIDASs in the past. The manager here was very helpful and had great customer service skills. The mechanic who worked on my car was also friendly and very knowledgeable. Id definitely recommend this location.

I made an appointment online and was contacted shortly. I was able to bring my car in that day and have it serviced. I originally came in for an issue with my car only to get a friendly call back from Allen letting me know he didnt see anything wrong with what I had brought it there for but there were minor things he did note and asked me if I wanted them done before moving forward and explaining everything to me since I really didnt know! Thank you times a million for helping me feel safer in my car on the road and I will definitely be coming back here from now on!

Seriously never coming here again. Came in Thursday after work for oils change and tires swapped for all seasons. They rotated completely backwards of what I asked. So when I went in there to get it rotated back got my car back after that with a whole scratch and dent across the side. It wasn’t there before cuz I washed and waxed my car Thursday after I changed my oil. This is bs!

I always come to this store to balance my tires. They always do a super job with wheel balancing. Other shops i have tried only offer half assed wheel balance service.

Went to get battery replaced. Got car looked over and paid for it. Fixed what they said was wrong, left with torn and loosened belt. Ive been seeing a lot of reviews where this place loosens peoples belts. They comment, oh were so sorry but nothing is actually being done. Rip off artists.

I had this place fix multiple things on my car. Kept having the same issues and decided to try someplace else, and the new mechanic asked if I had been repairing the car myself, AKA all the recent fixes seemed to have been done by an amateur and nothing done correctly 😂. They messed up my 02 sensor real bad, and welded it wrong and I had to replace it again immediately somewhere else. I never called them to ask for reimbursement though so that’s on me. They put the wrong battery in my car and it literally just kept falling out. Luckily nothing seriously bad. I’d try somewhere else tbh.......

This place charged me $160 for an oil change...enough said. Absolutely ridiculous. Granted, I use 0W-40 oil, but you can buy a jug of that at any store for $25. It was a routine oil and filter change. Normally, its a max of $50 at a DEALERSHIP. And thats an all-in price. Needless to say, Im never going back.

I would give it 0. Called for a price, not only did they quote me 3 times higher than any other place it sounded like a quote off the back of his hand. As soon as he had the make and model of my car he shot out this crazy price. Seems to be the trend at this place.

Had a really great experience at Midas in Madison Heights. Shop Manager Allen Amatayakul is infinitely patient and very helpful. His team really hustles too. I brought in an aftermarket catalytic converter that they installed. Turns out that my OEM cat was actually the better option, so the next day they reinstalled my original part and everything is good to go. I will be going back.11/30/16 Update. These guys are fantastic. They custom bent/fitted an exhaust system on my beloved Toyota Van Wagon and it now purrs. As a lifetime car collector, I really appreciate how thorough and professional they are. Thanks again.

If you want to get ripped off go there. Went in to find out why jeep was over heating, 1100.00 later I still have the same problem. A friend of mine said if he broke down in their parking lot he would call a tow truck to go somewhere else.

Very pleasant employees and atmosphere

Ive always preferred chain stores. Nothing beats a national warranty. I was a little hesitant to try Midas after I heard they were franchise owned. Dakota, the manager helped lay those fears to rest though. He provided me with a nationwide warranty number for the lifetime warranty muffler he installed on my Chevy Traverse, and for the lifetime warranty brake pads he installed on my suv that they found were getting low on their courtesy inspection they preformed when they were checking my exhaust.

Pls dont go here.i gave my car for service.when I reach home after service i noticed that my car wheel cup was missing.then i returned to the service center they told me that they did not done anything.The guy who serviced my car did not speak to me.It is another person talk to me.now i understand its my mistake to give my car to this place.because they properly not fixed the wheel cup.

Best shop in Michigan

After an oil change they did not properly close my air filter box, leaving a several inch gap at the bottom. I did not notice this for 3 days (and unfortunately 800+ miles later). This also caused another problem with the intake that required a repeat visit. Additionally, they left grease stains in the car.

Scheduled service today at 1 pm for maintenance. It was mentioned would take 1 hour to complete maintenance. I came back at 2 PM and no service was completed. This was my first time to go to this location and hope not a trend.....

Did not feel they did a quality job. Also forgot to secure the splash guard under the engine. Came undone on the freeway.
