Its a good store to go to in a pinch when I need materials quick for a job. Overall, Im not a huge fan of Home Depot because I think theyre a little overpriced. But I will say the workers here are usually really helpful and friendly if I ever need anything.
We went there to get some patio block filler. One employee told us it was in aisle 2. We looked and could not find it. So we asked a second employee in the paint department, and he directed us to where the outdoor plants were. He was correct. It could have saved us lots of time if the first employee would have known where it actually was.Other than that we really like the store and find the employees helpful. Maybe the first person we asked was new, or did not understand what we wanted. All in all it is a good place to shop.
The longer you go to this Home Depot, the worse it gets. Home Depot, in general, is proving to be a pretty miserable company. First of all, on a brighter note, for the most part, this location is acceptable. If you need to get some small stuff, sure, go for it. The people tend to be helpful that work there. Great, exactly the bare minimum. Now Ive got three stories that really ruin this place for me and I loathe having to go back. The first story is over a year ago. I needed plywood for a home project and, sure, they had the plywood, but they also should be offering services to cut it for you. Not only did the worker refuse to calibrate their table saw, but didnt offer any alternative other than renting one. Why would I pay extra for a service they should be offering? Next story is the in-store credit. If you EVER get in-store credit, scratch off the PIN covering and take a picture immediately. I lost the flimsy little card and went back in to ask for a new one. Despite my receipt having the remaining balance, part of the card number, and considering nobody can use it without my license, youd think they could offer a replacement (its in the database somewhere). But no, first the customer service rep told me it was impossible. I went back in and insisted they were wrong and they told me they can in fact try to look it up. I was given a managers contact number and that shed get back to me in a couple days. Radio silence. I called the store multiple times, I swear she was ducking me. Not to mention, the store number I was given, some guy kept answering and hanging up immediately. I finally called the main number (1-800-HOME-DEPOT, which is actually 1-800-HOME-DEP if you look at your phone, and even then it still is too many characters) and after finally convincing the rep that I was right, I was given a gift card to replace it. Maybe they should have done that in the first place? And for my third and final story, I ordered a sink (with said gift card!). The particular sink they had to ship to the store. Thats fine. The first one came in broken, so they automatically reordered it, a bummer, but also fine. I came to pick up the second one and upon returning home, I found out the sink was completely shattered. I complained to their online orders department, got the refund. Another pain, but still okay. I ordered a THIRD sink, this time to ship to my home so the idiots in the store couldnt damage it. Guess what? Also shattered. At this point, Im completely fed up with this location and Home Depot in general. Just go to Menards.
Went in to buy a grill. They have around 100 assembled and sitting in the parking lot and outside in the garden center. Most had rust spots, sun damage and were not in NEW condition. I worked with Terry and he was very helpful to find me one still in the box so I could get one that would make a good gift.
Just picked up a new drill press (WEN 17” Drill Press by the way highly recommended if you’re a new machinist and want a very powerful machine for regularly drilling large holes in steel). The return spring was damaged, no big deal it’s still usable. I called Home Depot online and their call center referred me to the store I picked it up at. Jason was the associate who helped me, he explained that because I bought it online I’d have to call them. No problem, but I just got off the phone with them and they said I had to call the store. Well, Jason took it upon himself to call them himself and get my replacement part ordered to my residence! In my industry we call that going above and beyond. He didn’t have to do that, he could have easily said that I ordered it online so I’d have to sort it out with their online department. Instead, he took time out of his day to ensure I was taken care of.I plan on buying a lot more tools here soon, as I’m trying to develop my own machine shop. I definitely know where to purchase my tools in the future. Thank you for your outstanding customer service and quickly resolving my issue.
Wife found her succulent soil mix that hard to find.
HORRIBLE service every single time we have come here. Finally decided to write a review. Every time we have come here, there has been an issue. Currently, we’ve been waiting 45 minutes for curbside pickup. We decided to try curbside to avoid the chaos and lack of knowledge inside. We submitted their curbside pickup form at 5:52. Curbside is done at 6:00pm. We waited until 6:20 to call. They said they’d work on it and be out in a couple of minutes. Waited another 12 minutes. Called again. A different customer service representative stated curbside is done at 6:00. I explained I was WELL AWARE and submitted the form at 5:52 (I even took a screenshot for documentation). She said she didn’t know. Oh and then she said it’llBe awhile… how will it be awhile after it’s been 45 minutes? Of course she didn’t know. Now my husband has to go in anyways and speak with the manager. No other Home Depot has had such horrible service. (This review excludes for Kelly in cabinetry! Only good experience.)
What a difference it makes in what part of the country when it comes to shopping at big box stores. You would think the Midwest would be full of common sense employees at these stores. Couldnt be farther from the truth. Better know what you want and where to find it. God knows the employees here are clueless. Now on the flip side when Im in Arizona those people know their stuff and if they arent sure they know someone who does.
Is the only place locally to get some products, otherwise there would be no rrason to go there.
I had numerous employees offer to help me find what I was looking for. Outstanding customer service. Highly recommend Home depot!
Great place with great service! They protect all of us by wearing masks and following the guidelines.
Staff was helpful. Their website product locations were accurate and helpful. When I was their they only had one cashier working and the self help registers had waiting lines.
Had a great experience at the store while purchasing a new lawn tractor. Owen, the gentleman that assisted did everything that was anticipated and more! The only reason for the review being a 4 and not a 5, is i called the store later in the day as I found the manuals for the tractor where no where to found, No one would answer the phone, after attempting several times!
Selection of solar walk lights better than Amazons in my opinion and prices just as good. You also get to see what they will actually look like because of the floor models. Easy returns at stores if there are issues on delivered items.
Good selection of most things I was looking for but many things were not available in store.
I love this place HD EAST. I was the Cleaning lady here for years. We like family and I love them all.
My property management company uses Home Depot for pretty much all of our supply needs and this location wouldn’t cut the last of over 2 dozen keys I needed copied because the only one I had had a faded “Do Not Copy” stamp on it. We do this all of the time all of the time at this location and others, not to mention there’s self service machines at Menards, Walmart, etc. I told the associate this and asked him to please confirm with a manager and he told me no, “it’s our policy.”Please consider updating that useless policy or you can bet we’ll be looking elsewhere any time we need to pick up supplies and a key copy is part of the work order.
When in to get some lumber. Needed help. Needed some cut. Got told its in that direction. Pick out what you need. We only cut 10 times. Good luck. I needed help. Not a store map.
Go ahead and get yourself a Depo dog on the way out. Chicago style!
Love love LOVE this Home Depot. Sure, if you havent got your steps in for the day a trip to the depot will likely double or even triple your tally, but I mean come on...light exercise is a small price to pay for frequenting the depot. The staff are super nice and incredibly helpful. Even the newbies who havent memorized the aisles can help you find whatever youre needing with the help of what I presume is an app on their phone. Every visit rocks, period, exclamation point!
First of all, waiting for customer service sux, was passed by several employees, who never acknowledged myself and Sweetness, even when we tried waving someone down. Then, get up to check out and find were stick doing the job ourselves, no discount, nothing...may every single store that goes the route HD, W-Mart have gone loose TRILLIONS of dollars and have to close.... If I had been there by myself, Id had walked out without a damned thing...they DO NOT DESERVE MY BUSINESS!!!
Returned part of order not needed. Nice person helping. Did more shopping friendly people.
Purchased a patio set and placed on will call to pick up the following day. Drove 30 miles so the my trailer to pick it up only to arrive and there is no patio set to pick up. There were two sets available when I went in and today the sign shows none. If you’re going to purchase anything from this store make sure you have product in hand when you leave. Not exactly sure how this can even be a helpful service to any customer when they can’t guarantee product availability. I will be shopping at Menards from now on!! Only positive were the people trying to help me find the set. Shame on you Home Depot!! Corporate America at it’s finest!!
I have shopped at Home Depot for years . The service has gone downhill. Employees are not helpful at this store. Ordered an island and 4 months later we drove 2 hours to pick it up from the vendor who told us when the truck arrived at this site they waited 90 minutes and then we’re told to leave. The store never followed up with us at all. Waited 50 minutes for a refund today. This was after a phone conversation with their employee and instruction to come get the refund, being told once there that we would be issued a check. Another phone call, followed by a 2nd attempt to get the refund. They will no longer get my business.
Helpful people, easy to find what Im looking for with their app ✔️
Good outdoor plant selection. Enjoyable checkout employee. Efficient and knew her plants.
Always best prices on stuff. get all of our outdoor and indoor plants here.
Inventory on lights and fans was pretty good and matched what showed up on the web.
This is a very nice place. The people are always very helpful, and go out of there way to help you. They have more things you could ever need. This place is much better than Menards please patronize here.
2 registers open w long queues. Cashier balked at accepting HD Mfg coupon. Ok overall and could have been worse. Thankfully I was in no rush.
I spend a lot of time at this Home Depot and Ive never had a bad experience. In particular the staff at the customer service desk and in the paint department are without fail some of the most helpful people youll ever meet. Joel is one person who has been extremely helpful to me on several occasions but everyone Ive interacted with has been really great.
Love the products and selection, high quality brands, lately its been hard to find people to help you locate things.
They have improved on their app to help navigate the store, but the customer service has taken a big hit.
I only go here when I have to. Its like shopping in Goodwill. No organization, stuff just thrown on shelves. I ordered plywood online for pick up, the sheets they pulled for me were not the ones I would have picked. Rented a truck to bring it home, probably the worst truck Ive ever been in.
Have pretty much anything you need for your home needs. Employees are always asking if they can help you. All the employees are knowledgeable about products and willing to help you.
Im addicted to Home Depot so I love shopping here. They always have just what I need and their prices are good, too.I cant wait for their spring nursery to open here cuz they always have lots of beautiful plants, flowers, and trees to choose from.
If all I were rating was the experience I had with Nathan Walker, and Johnny Chowaniec, at the Madison East store I would give a 5 star. However, another store was involved, and it was a complete comedy of errors: 1st, they caused the delivery to be delayed by 2 weeks, which cost me several hundred dollars (had to pay a days wages for the crew that was scheduled to do the work) and the crew that was going to do the work (it now looks like it will be a crew of one....Me!) Theyre forklift (the replacement unit that we had to wait an hour to be brought out to replace the broken one on the delivery truck) had a flat tire, which I had to pump up for them!!!Enough of the bad. Nate and Johnny stepped up and got me the materials needed to proceed with the project. Nate personally drove the missing materials out to me, and Johnny OKd the longer length materials for no additional cost to me. On top of that, Johnny gave me a price reduction on my order. Mind you, I never asked for a discount; he offered it because of the run around caused BY THE OTHER STORE!Well done Nathan and Johnny! I will look to you, and 4906, to fulfill future project orders.
Not the easiest to find things in but WAY better then the Fleet Farm in Beaver Dam. At least the employees know what they are doing here. My curb side pick ups have been good, no major issues.
The male workers were walking around and avoided me when I was shopping in the electrical department. A female employee stopped to ask me if I needed help and I was in the back of the department. She was super nice and helped me find what I was looking for. Im disabled and considered a senior citizen riding my own scooter. Maybe it put them off?
I love curbside pick up. Both convenient and there is no reason to go in the store.
The place is huge and spread out. Every time I go its SO SO SO difficult to get help on the floor. The sales people Ive met are great and diligent though.
Had a great experience at the Home Depot the other day. Went in for a 3 way light bulb and couldnt find one in the whole wall. They were there and it was obvious that Id over looked them. Fortunately there were some gentlemen talking to each other in orange aprons so I asked. A very friendly, knowledgeable man, Scott, offered to show me and my friend the difference between the types of lighting. The display had 3 types of lights and it was really neat to see the difference that it made. It was nice talking to Scott. He helped us make an informed decision about light bulbs.
Great indoor plant selection and good customer service.
Selection is okay, but you might as well order some less popular items online since this is a smaller store. The staff are not knowledgeable enough to help me each time I go, which is disappointing especially for the team members who lead the specific area (hardware, lumber, etc). Very hard to even get a staff member to help you as well. Customer service desk was helpful though.
Nice store layout, and friendly if not terribly helpful staff.
We had a great experience in the store today! Department manager Leo assisted us and he was so nice, friendly, and helpful. Its not often we get customer service like this anymore in retail situations so it was really refreshing, thank you ☺️
When your store becomes like Walmart checking out i will stop shopping ther. I dont shop there anymore,if I have to check my self out you dont need my money.
Its a home depot like all other home depots. Has what you need for relatively okay prices. It sjust convenient to find your stuff and to be able to just stop in and pick it up without waiting for it to show up.
I always say Home Depot is my home away from home and I aint lying. If Im not shopping for plants/flowers Im shopping for home improvement accommodations.
They had what we needed and found some stuff on sale Yeah.
The selection of items is good. The layout of the store is well marked.
Always have what we need!Plus miltary get 10%
Makes me sad to have to post this review. However, today I went to Home Depot to purchase a wheelbarrow and a few other gardening items. After searching for an extended period of time. I asked the clerk in the garden center if there was anyone there that could help me. She attempted to make a phone call, and then told me there was no one around to help. I then proceeded to look for the wheelbarrows, but I was not able to actually reach them due to boxes blocking access to them. The other three items that I wanted to purchase were also not in stock. This is the second time in 3 days that Ive gone to Home Depot in hopes of purchasing something and the item was not in stock. Not sure if this is a reflection of an ordering problem or not. I would have called in advance however my experiences is that no one ever answers the phone. I have been in the store and the phone rings continuously. Interestingly I did check online and it indicated that all the items I was looking for was in the store. Clearly there is a misconnect. I hope this improves soon.
It was not crowed at all in the evening just before the holidays. The place is good, people are very helpful, with a few exception of ppl at self checkout. The experts at plumbing isle went above and beyond to help me with the PVC pipes and how should I go ahead with my home project. I really appreciate them. Generally a good place with good stuff and people.
Ended up going to Home Depot to pick up a grill (NexGrill) that I found on their website. When I got their I was greeted in the garden section by a gentleman named Jeff. He informed me that the grill I wanted was on the top shelf of the mezzanine, so he would have to get the fork truck. He got the grill down for me and I was on my way. Got home and started to assemble everything, or course after taking everything out of the box, and found out it has missing parts. Called the store and asked for Jeff. At first he wanted me to pack the whole thing back into the box, bring it back, and exchange it for another one, same model, just a different box hoping it would have all the parts. I expressed what an inconvenience this would be and he agreed. He then told me just to bring the instructions to the store, we would open another box, take the parts I needed, and he would deal with all the rest. Sounded great to me! The second grill that we opened in the store was missing the same parts... We both agreed if these 2 were missing the same part, the rest of the boxed ones (of this model) probably were too. We went out front to look at one that they had fully assembled and it had the part I needed. He offered to either let me take the parts off of that grill, or he would upgrade me for free to the next better model of the grill! I was floored at the offer and took him up on that. I went home to get the old grill, still in pieces on my garage floor, and bring it back to them, were Jeff assured me they would take care of everything with the manufacturer so I wouldnt have to deal with any of that. When I got back, I dropped off the old grill and they had my new, upgraded, and fully assembled :-D grill all ready for me. This is when I met Kate and Vanessa at the customer service desk. They, just like Jeff, were absolutely amazing to deal with! Quick with the paper work, seeing as I was renting a truck to take my new grill home with because it wouldnt fit in my car, very friendly, light hearted, great sense of humor all the way around, and they were all very apologetic that I had to deal with all of this. Kate and I had some good laughs exchanging stories due to our connection to the service, and Vanessa and Jeff were great to joke and laugh with as well. Basically, to sum things up here, when I called them to let them know I was missing parts, they could have told me its not their problem and to take it up with the manufacturer, which was what I expected because thats what Menards does, which is why I will only go to the Home Depot especially after this. But they didnt push me off. They accepted responsibility for something that wasnt their fault and something, really, that they had no control over. I am absolutely floored by the customer service I received, and their willingness to make things right. These people bent over backwards for me to make sure I was happy with the outcome of my experience, and I *absolutely* am!! Some people might say that they were just doing their job...well, it was much more than that, these people genuinely expressed care and concern for others. If you havent figured it out by now that this is about more than a grill, thats on you. To Home Depot; you have a great team in Madison that had me driving away with a smile on my face, even though things didnt go as planned. To Jeff, Kate, and Vanessa; thank you all for your efforts and kindness throughout the whole experience! I definitely did not expect things to go the way they did, but in a way, Im glad it all played out that way. You guys are *awesome* and most definitely helped to restore a bit of faith in humanity for me! Keep doing what you do guys! THANK YOU!!!!!
Friendly staff, great customer service!! Pro Desk is awesome if your a contractor or you diy. After shopping at Menards for 8 years finally got really sick and tired of there NO customer service at ANY level. They have the worst atmosphere for any customer, not the same with Home Depot moment you walk in FREE MASKS, employees are taught to greet and ask if you need any help and I mean any employee at ANY level!!! Yes 5 stars and a big Thanks!!
Always excellent customer service!!
Store was very messy and people were just standing around when looking for help we were ignored and thats not right and we were looking for an out door camera by wayz and there were a lot of them on the top shelf and Noone around to help us to get one down and when we walked away then they got on down when we went to the register the lady was very rude and would got mad when I asked for my military discount she was really rude to us and then she was like why should I give you that and I showed my military ID and then she gave it us but was really rude and was hitting the computer
A great experience, very helpful. The employees went the extra mile for me.
Excellent customer service. Curbside pick up is a great service!
Awesome Kitchen Sink/faucet products and fast curbside pickup
Great place for building supplies and more... But I have to say I had to go elsewhere to get BNC connectors..
Great variety and quality products. Competitive prices and costumer service. I would suggest anyone to go check them out.
If I could rate this a 0 I would. I purchased a lawn mower from this store online a week ago. I paid $80 extra to have it delivered to my house. It was supposed to be delivered 5 days ago. When it didnt show up I called to see what was going on becuase according to the Home Depot APP it was still going to arrive on time, Saturday the 1st of May, even though it was now Sunday the 2nd of May. So after texting the home depot associates and calling the customer service line, talking to 4 different people and spending about 3 hours on the phone I was told that if the shipping manager isnt at the store that everything falls apart and nothing gets shipped becuase nobody else knows what theyre doing. Literally thats what I was told. So then I was told that my order would be here today ( Wednesday May 5th) Well I just received an email that my order has now been cancelled without my permission. So I had to call again and after talking to 5 more people I finally found out that their shipping trucks were not filled again and my order MIGHT arrive to my house on Friday the 7th, but wasnt cancelled, but they arnt 100% sure when it will actually show up. Your customer service is horrible. Communication between their employees is horrible. Youd think after running a company so poorly that they had to claim bankrupcty and close down most of their stores they would at least make an effort to run their remaing stores that are still open a little bit better. But they dont. This is super dissapointing and frustrating. I shipped something to Alaska last week from Wisconsin and it took 2 days to get there. I ordered this lawn mower 6 days ago and It might show up on the 8th day and I live an hour away from the shipping facility. This will most definitley be the last time I deal with or buy anything from Home Depot.
Had product in stock. It took awhile to get off the top shelf.
Tools and dogs and wood and lights and wives that want hubbies to buy them stuff. So many paint colors my eyes hurt and more damn shelving than I can shake a brand new stick at. ...but no hot dogs.
Not bad for a chain store. Most of the employees I have encountered throughout my years of coming here have been nothing but friendly and helpful. I shop here regularly and plan to continue to do so. The lumber selection could be of higher quality. Ive never been impressed with the lumber I have purchased here.
Shout out to Ernie! He helps me cut boards every single time Im there and hes so helpful and kind! Thanks so much!
They have everything you need, but some staff have no clue of where they have it. I usually find it myself.
Great place for all your home needs. We mostly go their for our gardening shopping.
This store has alot of items you need for home repairs & common hardware/tools, including patio.Fun to walk thru, nice garden selections.
This place has an awesome night shift. They are friendly and helpful. I will gladly come back here and deliver drywall.
Rough handling of appliances apparently. Drove from Janesville to buy a freezer and its all dented
Good service. Excellent selection of plants.
Disappointing visit as, though there is a mask mandate in our county, a number of the employees decided to ignore it.
No issue with the store. They typically carry everything we need. Staff are always helpful or willing to find someone who can help with questions.
Put in a Application for a Part-time forklift Operator job. Tried calling to See if they Even Got it, all I got was Answering machine. How do you Expect to get Help if you Cant even Anwser a Phone. Very Rude! I think they Just Hire Who they Want instead of Someone with almost 15 years Experience on Operating a Forklift and in a Lumberyard Environment Besides
Much better lumber than at Menards.Parking sucked a little though.
Always a great place for home remodeling and repair materials. They carry everything and anything.
The store staff was very helpful, and even told me where I could find batteries that they didnt carry.
Big, big selections in home appliances. And really all your home needs.
Lots of beautiful plants & flowers to choose from for your summer planting. $-$$$
Always excellent service. Great variety.
Everyone was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Got everything quickly, people were masked and social distancing.
I bought a Ryobi leaf blower and it works just like I wanted it to.
At my last particular visit, I appreciated the paint dept being up front since I was just there for color choices.
This is just a service experience, and I wish I had taken the name of the associate at the paint mixing counter. She was very kind and extremely efficient. I also have to give props to the older gentleman at the same counter(they seem to work great together).
I went for an interview, the store is well staffed and Betsy the manager is very nice.
Samantha and Heather did a great job. Thank you both for your excellent customer service! This Home depot is much better then Menards
I’m sorry HD, but my experience today requires a poor review, despite my decades of 5-star in-store experiences. I used self checkout today, the store recently updated all the machines. I asked how to use them, since all I could see was the hand scanner (clearly this can’t be the new COVID-safe tool, there is no disinfectant not hand sanitizer available). The answer? The worker picked up the hand scanner, used from the previous customer, and tried to hand it to me. I asked if there was a paper towel or something I could use - she looked around and found a used rag and a spray bottle, sprayed it, and handed it to me. WOW!! Brand new machines to use (they worked great) but no option to sanitize the station before use?!? The woman looked at me like I was asking for something odd when I asked for a paper towel or something COVID safe. Moving on, I scanned the wrong bar code on my paint and “needed assistance”. The gentleman grabbed the scanner, scanned the paint, and tried to hand the scanner back to me. I asked him to hang it up himself, I was done scanning. I reached out to HD customer service via texts. The lady was so kind, but was unable to help escalate my issue. I was directed to the generic HD phone number, where I started to punch in numbers to get me to the right department (because customer service does not have a direct line or extension). I am so frustrated!!!!!! Come on Home Depot, the pandemic is not over yet!! And filing a complaint (for something that could be easily fixed and avoiding me leaving poor feedback online) should be much easier!! I still love Home Depot and will absolutely keep using the store and online, but will expect the terrible changes they have made to the Madison WI stores for COVID
I swear my husband lives here haha. Favorite hardware store!
Trying hard to like this place but the staff feels new everytime. They are friendly but untrained and inexperienced. Most visits are frustrating and it seems the talent has moved to menards.
Always a good treat to go get something at the hardware store
The man in flooring, Hesham, was VERY helpful. He helped me look at all the options and was very professional. I am excited to get my new carpet! Thank you Hesham!
Seems like theyve been beeting Maynard on some prices lately, and their website is 10 times deeper by far, I can get all kinds of stuff than Maynard can even offer.
