Another exceeded expectations experience! At 88,000 miles, some new undercarriage sounds made me think I needed to replace my front brakes. Upon investigation, they found some loose heat shields for my exhaust pipes and that my front brakes were still good for several more months. So they fixed the heat shields and had me out of there in less than 30 minutes. And to top it off, NO Charge! Guess who is going to get my business to replace my front brakes when the time comes!

Mex Muffler is one of the hardest working auto shops in Madison. They recently did some brake maintenance for us at 4pm on a Saturday. Evening else was closed. The whole crew gave us pro service and were very friendly. This was one experience of many positive experiences over the years. I cant recommend Mex Muffler highly enough.

The other night my brakes started making a loud metal grinding sound; luckily the guys here got me in the next morning, since everywhere else nearby wouldve had me on hold for 2 weeks. They were very busy but still got the job done within the afternoon, and helped explain to me what exactly was wrong with my brakes; great work staff & fair price, just remember to bring cash to tip them afterwards!

Had suspension work done. Struts, tie rods, and sway bars. Work unfortunately did not include a wheel alignment, nor instructions to get one done. One month later my new front tires are bald and they will not take responsibility. I now need to buy new tires and get an alignment.

I found out about MexMuffler through someone’s suggestion on Reddit and I’m glad I did! I came in as a walk-in and told them that I thought I was having issues with my muffler but wasn’t sure. They immediately took a look and figured out the issue. They were open about both of my options—one would be simpler and cheaper but wouldn’t last as long while the other would be more expensive but would be a long-term solution. I appreciated that they didn’t pressure me one way or the other. I went with the long-term option (replacing most of my exhaust system) and it was still a super reasonable price and they got it done quickly (that day). Now my car is basically silent and so much nicer to drive. Super appreciative of everyone there!

I was recommended to Mexmufflers by two separate repair shops in Madison and was very happy they did. From start to finish the process was friendly and professional. I only am rating it 4/5 because there was a mixup that caused me to wait 30 minutes for my car to be completely fixed. I got no indication that this was a common mistake and would still recommend this place highly!

I came in with a large section of exhaust missing that needed to be replaced. After only a 10 minute wait they pulled my car in and promptly got to work. I went out to grab some lunch and when I got back it was already done. They welded on a new resonator and about 3 feet of pipe for only $120. Professional, fast, and friendly. Would definitely recommend!

Good, fast, affordable, work, but you get what pay for. Instead of putting a connection and a gasket, he welded the whole muffler the existing exhaust. Now if you need replace something in the exhaust system, youll need to either replace the whole thing or cut it out. Besides that the welds were decent and work was quick.

The guys at Mex Muffler helped me with some minor damage to my exhaust system after a recent auto collision. I was in-and-out in less than an hour for a repair that was going to cost me significantly more at other shops. Highly recommended.

I was referred by someone to see these guys! You guys did an awesome job. I thought I was going to be looking at a serpentine belt kit replacement and they discovered it was just a loose heater shield. I want people to know how honest these guys are! They could have said anything. I asked them if they could add on an oil change and the entire thing only cost me just over $40. $40!!! I was expecting and willing to pay hundreds that day!!!!!!!!!!!

I highly recommend this place! I stopped by at about 11 a.m. on a Saturday needing several repairs to my exhaust. I was called about an hour later with an update and price and was pleasantly surprised to find out 1) it was going to be hundreds of dollars less than I anticipated and 2) they would have it done shortly. The woman at the desk was funny, kind, and efficient. It was easy to tell that they knew exactly what they were doing. 10/10!

Best service ive had thus far as a young car owner. The repair tech took me under my car, and pointed out what was wrong with my exhaust. For the price range i gave him, he cut out and replaced the rusted through pipe. I was so happy when i started my car when i got it back, it was quiet once again. They had it fixed within an hour, and all the employees i interacted with were kind and respectful. Will most definitely be coming back for other repairs. Thank you guys so much.

The service was excellent! We were in to get an estimate a week ago and when we picked up our vehicle we were pleasantly surprised to learn the bill was much lower than the original estimate, which we were completely prepared to pay.

These are some hard-core exhaust installing vatos, ese. If you want to get an exhaust done, you can go to the dealer and pay, psh, $500 or $1000 and you don’t know if they do it right. You gotta make an appointment, you gotta leave your car... They wanna screw you, mark up the price on the parts. Naw, that ain’t good. You take your ride to the hard-core vatos at Mex Muffler and they will hook you up ese. These guys don’t mess around. You show up - they fix your hooptie. No questions asked. While you wait. For cheap. Awww yeah. This is where you want to go.

I sent my Father-in-Law here after reading so many positive experiences. The dealer had quoted him such a high price for his repair that he was unsure if he should repair the exhaust or live with it. This shop left him in high spirits after finishing the repair in about 30 minutes and at a tiny fraction of the dealer quote. He also said his 16 year old car hasnt been this quiet since it was new! I had planned on taking my vehicle to the dealership, which often are pricier and I knew that. My brother recommended (via his friend) Mex Muffler which aligned with the type of work I needed. Honest and efficient. A mechanic elsewhere told me I needed a new resonator. MexMuffler said it looked fine and the noise was not coming from the exhaust system. They charged me nothing at all. They also got me in promptly without an appointment on a Friday afternoon.

Had rusted out parts in my exhaust system that another dealer estimated to be $500+ dollars to fix. Mexmuffler fixed the issues for $160. The mechanic working on my car showed me what needed to be fixed and when it was fixed. Did all repairs in about 40 minutes!! Will definitely be going back.

One of my cars brakes was making an awful grinding noise so I took it here to get it checked out. Dropped it off at 8am and they had it figured out and fixed by noon. Didnt try to upsell me at all and the whole thing ended up costing less than I anticipated.

Nissan dealership: $1,200 Don the car care man: $600. MexMuffler: $200 and much nicer than Dons group. Ill always come back here for exhaust repairs. This was for a couple of holes in my exhaust of a 2011 Nissan.

I came in today around 12 and it seemed pretty busy. They said it would be about 30 minutes to take look at my muffler. I came back about 30 minutes later and they were just raising it up. Within a few minutes they quoted me a very fair price and told me 40 minutes. Maybe I misheard him as it was about 5 minutes later and they were done! Awesome job with a 1 year warranty.

After being told it was going to cost $1600 to repair (replace) our slightly noisy muffler, an employee at Don Miller pulled me aside and told me about MexMuffler. He said, “It’s nothing fancy, but they do really great work at a fraction of the cost...I go there and send people there all the time.” I love these kind of finds, so I went for it. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience. They don’t make appointments, but they crank through the mufflers. They put your car on the lift, find the problem(s), talk through the problem, and shoot you a quote. We went from a $1600 repair at Don Miller Subaru to $150 at MexMuffler. They got to work and had it fixed in 15-20 minutes. That said, as I drove off the muffler still sounded loud. I went back around the block and had them take a listen...they came back and profusely apologized, as they were going to fix two points on the muffler, but forgot the second patch. After a few more apologies and 10 minutes I was out the door. They give you a one year warranty on their work and just say to bring it by if it breaks loose. They have been there for about 10 years, so I trust they’d honor their work.

Excellent service! Friendly, helpful and professional. My exhaust heat shield got partially knocked off a week ago while driving my car over some tall brush. It was rattling loud, and I didnt want to cause more damage by driving around much longer. They were able to get my car in quickly, and that REALLY saved my day. I will go back again :)
