I have shopped at this Publix several times since moving to Madison since its close to my neighborhood. Publix is new to me so I thought Id give it a try. This store is always clean and organized. I dont think Ive ever waited too long in the check out lines. My favorite part of going to this Publix is walking in and seeing all the beautiful, healthy plants in the flower section. Then experiencing all the delightful pastries. I love the fresh cut fruit section. Oh, and the deli! The blessed deli always has something to please. Ive purchased at the deli for a quick lunch grab and not been too disappointed. My daughter does says to tell you all to stay away from the fried okra. (blah!) I cannot wrap up my review without mentioning that the staff (especially in the deli) are very polite and welcoming. I recommend! (4 stars only because of the okra)

The staff at this specific location are fantastic. Over the years I have a few special employees that always seem to go above and beyond. I tell people all the time. This location is always clean and the employees are quick to help. Thank you for being a great location to shop for the past several years.

I spend a lot of mornings here after I go to the gym or after I drop the kids off at school. I get a lot of work done while drinking my coffee. It can get a little busy in the later morning so I try to go early. Last week I had the avocado toast and it was delicious. The staff is always very kind and the coffee is always fresh and hot!

This is my favorite Publix. I used to live only 5 minutes down the street, but even after I moved a little further away next to a Publix like a mile away, I still come here. Its always clean and never too busy. Just a very nice place to shop and they have a great gluten free selection :)

I kept a star because of cost BUT Publix is always clean and organized and ready to be helpful. Easy to park and get in and out at this one. Publix is good about having stuff you cant find at other places...or being out of stock elsewhere.

The day before I started my training, I had received a phone call to start me in customer service, instead of produce; as I had intended from the beginning. I agreed, only because the pay was the same. However, the people I was told to shadow with (follow their example of task), were not friendly and expressed obvious annoyance when speaking to me. One even had the nerve to ask me about my personal work background and judged me on my decision to work for Publix. One more thing I should mention: Im not sure whose responsibility it is to maintain the scheduling, but what they gave me was far less than part time. I knew that even though I signed up for full time, I, just like all other employees, would have to start with part time before moving up to full time. What I did not expect, however, was to work a day or two in one week, follow up the next with literally nothing, then repeat for another two weeks. Also, I understand that Publix is a business and just like any grocery business, they have to keep up with their numbers and goals. But, and maybe it was just the branch I was involved in, I was told since my interview that Publix was a heartwarming place that cares for its employees and customers as if they were family. Unfortunately, based on my experience, all I had seen was impatience from employees and management for their goals to be reached. Perhaps it is just in my nature or how I was raised, but I prefer to be in an environment where people are seen as people, and not as a number. I did manage to make a small mistake a few days ago, leading me to be sent home. As I left, I realized that everyone in the front (those involved with cashiering, customer service and bagging) had found out about the mistake I had made. I felt like someone had spread the word to everyone. Yes, it was my mistake, of which I intend to learn to improve on with ease. But the way I see it, they had no right to spread rumors or delve into my personal business. What I did is suppose to be between me and the managers. Not everyone else. I wasted no time in leaving the building to go home that day. And today, I had quit. It felt like a weight falling off of my shoulders. I only wish the customer service manager hadnt responded with So you decide to abandon your responsibility at our store as well as your paycheck? That was completely unprofessional of him. That, and how he hung up on me as I was asking him a question. Seriously, if any of you are thinking of applying here, please be careful. Im sure not all of Publix buildings are like the one I had applied to. I only pray for your safety and well deserved respect.

Walmart could take a page outta the Publix playbook! Shopping at Publix is comfortable, with the temperature inside the store just right. The only time the temperature in Walmart is tolerable is the dead of winter

Big store with good stock. Like all other Publix though there are certain items they are always out of. Unsure why they cant order more of the items people are buying. Could be covid related or poor management. Great BOGO deals though. My favorite grocery store.

Im at a loss. Essentially, dont expect any help if you have a tele-health provider.As a nurse, its incredibly easy to use improper channels to obtain prescriptions (i.e., using your attending or other physician friends in the field). Instead, I went through proper channels and have my prescriptions sent through an objective, third party tele-health provider. My current provider is away from office, so a covering physician refilled my prescription. I received a voicemail stating that the prescription was unable to be filled. When I called and spoke with Jennifer, she was very unfriendly, stating, Im not filling this; it needs to be sent to another pharmacy all together. This will not be filled at any other local Publix, either. She stated she was uncomfortable that my prescription was written by an out-of-state provider (which is increasingly common with tele-health. I should know since I work with patients out of state very frequently).I understand the need to protect your own license, but even after I patiently explained the situation, Jennifer was still incredibly unhelpful and borderline rude. When I inquired about a prescription transfer, her attitude was worse.I will never return to this Publix. Not for the pharmacy, not for shopping. Its absolutely absurd in the midst of a pandemic when more and more people are turning to tele-health to avoid exposure, that a prescription is denied (and in such an ugly manner). I would never talk to my patients this way or handle business in this manner. Unfortunate.

Please DO NOT BUY MONEY ORDER from this store. I got a money order from them and I made a mistake in writing and went there again to get a replacement. They told me to go to my bank in order to get a refund. I went to the bank and they told me that I have to get a refund from Publix. After going back and forth, I was finally told by a Publix personnel that I may need to contact Western Union. Publix does not have any refund policy towards money orders. They will not even replace it for you. You will have to go through Western Union which is a very lengthy process and your money is stuck. They will not guide you what to do. They will only ask you to call WU. I repeat, DO NOY BUY MONEY ORDER from this store.

So my husband is notorious for bringing home broken eggs from publix. Needless to say after the 3rd time he was not allowed to egg shop for me anymore and I call publix to see if I can get an exchange or refund and the lady gave her name and affirmed. I come into publix for the eggs 3 months later with receipt and I went to the wrong one...but let me tell you how good God is and his people, the customer service employee Natasha and her Manager Chris S. after pointing out the location didn’t even make me go to the correct one, they still honored it and replaced my eggs. My heart melted and im grateful.

Instacart Shoppers Beware!My husband was told he was not allowed to use paper bags by the MANAGER. Because he works with instacart he literally had to bag his own groceries because apparently they are not responsible for keeping multiple transactions separate. This is by far the worst Publix I’ve ever been too.

Prices are high, but you can get items not available at other local stores. I shop here quite infrequently. Not because of the staff or service, they are always helpful and polite, but because the high prices wreak havoc on my fixed income budget.

If I could put 0 stars I would.I ordered a sub from the Deli department. Drove there (10 minute drive each way) and came back only to find out my sub was burnt to a crisp. Absolutely inedible. Inexcusable how that didn’t get remade on sight. It was completely black.So I called up and they remade it. So another 10 minute drive each way, but I was TOLD what bread I ordered, instead of asking me what bread I ordered. So now, my white bread sub is now a wheat bread sub, and they didn’t refund it or anything. Never coming to this joke of a store ever again. What a waste of my time and my money.

The most friendly associates I have encountered anywhere. All Publix locations stand out with their customer service. This location must be newer because of the store layout, and a larger building than the othrrs.

Maybe an off day?As a loyal Publix shopper, I have become used to the Publix norm. Smiling faces, offers of help, and the willingness to help in whatever way they can. This was my first shopping experience at the Madison Hughes Road location and I came home sadly disappointed.I wrote out my deli order of 5 items so they could fill it while I shopped and they wouldnt be rushed and when I arrived home I realized I received 1/2 of the amount I asked for. When I offered my order list to the deli personnel, they seemed set to sell me the triple play which I explained several times wouldnt work for what I was making. The only friendly employees I saw were the Aprons chef and a very sweet cashier and bagger I met while checking out. I saw several managers throughout the store but not one seemed interested in what was going on around them other than their own task. The meat person couldnt answer a very simple question, The sushi person simply replied with a curt no when asked if they ever have cucumber rolls. The bakery was out of the 3 basic items I needed. I could go on but it would probably be better to just sum it up...I feel that this Publix is beautiful and clean but is in some serious need of some corporate intervention and training so that theyre able to keep customers coming back.Hopefully this was just an off day for them. I love Publix and want them to succeed at each and every location.

Normally, the deli is excellent. But today, I used the online ordering. I had to wait almost 40 minutes for the order to be ready. When I arrived on time, I had to wait an additional 10 minutes. The deli worker forgot to toss my chicken tenders then tossed everything they had already place into the sub in the sauce, making the entire thing taste like one flavor. It was almost impossible to eat and one note and I am very disappointed by this visit.

Store is well maintained, while walking past the vegetable area everything was stocked, clean, and looked fresh.Fish and meat sections were much the same, fresh and stocked. The store aisles are wide enough to feel comfortable walking down with a person going in each direction.The only downside is everything is a bit pricier than Walmart and Kroger, but the quality and atmosphere make it worthwhile.

Friendly employees and clean store. Employees wear masks and they disinfect the shopping carts. If long line at register, they will open another. Deli is wonderful. The non breaded chicken wings are very good. They carry some things that I cant find elsewhere.

Returned an item with my receipt within 3 days because the bread item smelled moldy and the customer service representative by the name of Carin thought it was her job duties to question my return good item. This is completely unacceptable considering it is my money and I can return an item that I believe to be molding.I spoke with a Manager and he seems to be lacking customer service as well. I won’t bother spend Dinh my hard earned money at this location.... the Publix at Promenade is a much better location & the staff is always kind!

Meat at this location is not up to standards of most Publix. Prices are, of course, on par with the rest of Publix.

First time in this store. Shelves fully stocked. Floor exceptionally clean. Seems great as a place for easy in and out. Specific pathway for a wheelchair to go from handicapped parking to the entrance. Was easy to roll into store.

Went out of their way to remake a sub sandwich for me when I’d made a mistake with the online ordering system. Deli workers were gracious and very safe (it being the pandemic and all). Great experience all around.

I stopped in to get a sub sandwich from the Deli. Publix makes a better sub sandwich than any of the chain sub sandwich franchises.

So excited to have a new Publix right around the corner. This is going to be very convenient. Great choice to tear down the old building and build a new one. Cant wait to see what the new center of Madison looks like.

Very nice, updated Publix. I ordered Pub Subs (the BH Ultimate on flat bread is amazing!) The deli was busy and they were still making my sons chicken tenders sub, so they gave it to us discounted $2 off since I had to wait a few minutes. Great service!

I literally just had the BEST accustomed service experience here. I never write reviews, and I never thought my first one would be for a grocery store but WOW! Every employee greeted me, and when one saw me carrying a few things in my hand (I ended up picking up more than I planned), he brought me a basket and asked if I would like it! I may go out of my way to make this my regular grocery store because this is how shopping SHOULD be!

The newest and best Publix in town. Nicely stocked bakery, seafood counter, meat counter, deli, wine (in the back corner), and produce. Overly helpful employees will walk you to any item youre looking for and take your groceries to your car. Will certainly go again.

Came in at 7am for some deli meat, was greeted by AT LEAST 9 people from the time I walked in the door to the deli. Super professional and prompt with service. Good to see the new store open with great people. 👍Carlos was quick and made sure I approved before bagging the lunch meat.
