Ordered chocolate chip pancakes a month ago and they were great and well worth the price. Came back yesterday to a 20 minute wait which is normal for dine-in and got oatmeal creme brûlée and french toast, the latter of which was by far the best french toast Ive ever had - mind-blowing - and I dont even like french toast. Great coffee and again great price for everything. Very friendly and fast service once we were seated. Definitely my new favorite spot for breakfast!

Been wanting to try this place for a while and finally tried it!!! Aaaamazing !!!! Super busy brunch place in Madison, WI. They are on first come first serve basis so be prepared to wait. We were a big group and each one of us loved what we ordered. The menu offers great options for everyone. The food here is incredible. They make great eggs benedict, pancakes, lattes, and sweets. The Brunch Club is an adorable place to go for breakfast! I suggest getting here when they open - there is almost always a long wait the later in the day, but its quite worth it.The menu is really inventive and offers a wide array of tastes. The portion sizes are huge and the presentation is impressive, though the flavor of the food falls just short of my expectations. I highly suggest the cocktails and the horchata here though.

Let me start off by saying tht the food here is AMAZING!! Ive enjoyed dining here every week for the last couple months.Unfortunately they missed the mark last week. I ordered my breakfast nachos deconstructed and in the past this has never been an issue. I happily left a 20% gratuity on my pickup order because the staff always does such a great job making sure my order is correct. But on this trip they did not ensure the accuracy of the order. The nachos were an inedible soggy mess. I tried to call the restaurant but I got caught in circle of automation that never got me to a real person, so I sent an email six days ago.No one responded. So here I am today wanting to enjoy Basset Street Brunch Club but Im still frustrated that my last order was inedible and now irritated that no one responded.

In Madison near the Capitol it is not the easiest to find good breakfast. Many restaurants have reduced hours or closed due to restrictions, which were more due the political party in charge here. This place has great food and options for folks with food restrictions. I suggest the burrito, add sausage and ask them to grill the outside, it is fantastic and filling.

GREAT brunch food. I went here all throughout college and tried to work my way through the menu. At one point there was a donut chicken sandwich type menu item that was delectable! The donuts are always great and they have great coffee selections too. My only complaint isnt even bad- its just that theyre always so busy that you have to go earlier in the morning to grab a spot! I would highly recommend this place for brunch. These lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry are delicious but too much for one person. Therefore, bring a friend, a lover or family member to share them with. Under $9.00 for the pancakes is a great value. The iced coffee is holiday spice which is great for the season. Disclaimer - this review is a patio review. The Bassett Street Brunch Club patio is not a great dining environment. While the address is Bassett Street the patio is directly adjacent to Johnson Street which is a very busy 3 lane thoroughfare with constant traffic. Large trucks, consistent ambulance and police sirens - all very loud. This all makes for a poor dining environment, in addition to being a poor dog-friendly patio. Dogs are allowed - dogs do not enjoy the street traffic noise levels - in our specific experience our waitress did not offer the pup water despite the blazing sun. Speaking of sun there is additionally not great shade on this patio.Food was good - beer was cold - patio is a never again.

Way over rated. My bartender was attentive. The blended screw driver was tasty. The cheese curds were inedible. Took one bite and tried to get the wet grease off the others with napkins. Gave up and pushed them away. Told the bartender that the cook needs to have the oil hotter and he agreed. Still charged me for them. Ordered American breakfast. Eggs and bacon ok. Toast was not buttered and cold. Asked for butter and given cold butter from the refrigerator so had to do butter pellets on my toast. Bamboo straws disintegrated in my drink. Don’t order takeout in store. There’s no place to wait at all and there’s one particular staff that’s very rude to us. There were two extra standalone chairs by the takeout shelf, and we were sitting there waiting for our takeouts. One waitress politely asked us if she could use one chair for a table and we okayed. She told us that we can wait in the hotel lobby but there’s a buffet there so we didn’t move. The table next to us had extra chairs so we borrowed one from there. Another waitress passed by and accused us for doing so. She also basically said that I cannot sit on the chair that was originally just near the shelf since they “may” need it for another table. A terrible experience to say the very least.

Let me start by saying the food was mediocre and would probably go back if the service was better, but it was terrible. Waitress brought out our appetizer and dropped the plate on the table causing the chicken to fall onto the table. (We got chicken and donuts.) She was apologetic but didnt offer to replace it. Overall, a bit underwhelming. On paper the menu looks more interesting than it actually is; in terms of execution, dishes are often a bit... meh. The Sassy Cow cheese curds, for example, had a flavorless batter and very generic ranch, and came out simply drenched in oil. The cheddar grits were... extremely bland grits with a bit of cheese slapped on top and broiled. The Eggs Benedicto were soggy, pretty small, and the side of greens it comes with was just that, a pile of greens with a dash of dressing. The only real bright spot were the oddly huge Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, but frankly, you can get those quite a few places. This half-hearted approach extended to service on our recent visit; it was difficult to get attention from our server, and we gave up on getting drink refills or placing additional alcoholic beverage orders after a while. Nothing is actively *bad* at Bassett Street Brunch Club, but for Madison, it just isnt competitive.

I’ll start by saying this is one of the BEST breakfast/brunch spots in Madison. Love the food, the vibe, and the customer service from SOME of the staff. Only my 2nd time at this spot & I ordered “French toast” completely ignoring the description (that’s my fault) and I was surprised by the toppings on the French toast (egg, some yellow sauce, bacon, arugula, and onions) caught me off guard cause I didn’t think I’d have to read a description for French toast, I assumed it was regular French toast! I was respectful and told them I no longer wanted it. Took one bite, and couldn’t handle the taste. The sever by the name of Elia instantly caught an attitude as if I was belligerent or disrespectful, I kindly asked her to take them back, and apologized for not reading the item description. From that point she became very rude to me. They still charged me for the French toast which is fine I guess. Any other restaurant would’ve took it off of my tab but hey! That’s ok!! my main issue was the sassy attitude I received from Elia after I was shocked by the toppings on my food. I then placed an order for pancakes and Elia with the most sassiest tone said “it comes with powdered sugar on the top is that okay” and stormed off lol.. can’t make this up. This was ridiculous. I’ll try not to stop by if she’s on the job today. Not a knock on The brunch club, I love this place but I don’t like rude servers especially when I was very respectful.

We were welcomed to Bassett Street Breakfast Brunch Club restaurant with “we have some immediate seating for you guys.” We got a seat right away and our waitress come up and greeted us, she got us some coffee and waters right away and we asked if she had some recommendations for what to eat and she sure did. She gave us her top 3, Pork Carnitas Hash, Hot to Tot Burrito, and Coconut French Toast. I ordered some breakfast nachos with chicken. While I was waiting for that to come up we took a walk to the donut case and picked out some donuts to eat. They where delicious and made fresh this morning. Soon our food arrived, nice and hot with good presentation. My meal had great flavor with crunchy chips and the chicken was nice and moist; it fell apart with fork it was delicious. I was stuffed before we left. Out waitress, Alissa, was great, stopping back to check on us often and make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this place for breakfast. The donuts are fresh the breakfast is delicious, they have an early bird deal for mimosas ($3 mimosas before 10am), they also offer free parking in the hotel they are connected to, just get the ticket validated by your server, and a great waitress (Alissa). Dont worry, she continues to check in on the table in front of us 3 times passing ours without even looking. After she passed our table for the fifth time, I had to raise my hand and ask if we could put our order in since weve been waiting for so long. She stated, did no one come to take your order? I guess I could get someone to come. Elia, who obviously was already busy and serving other customers in her section was kind enough to serve us with great service. Some of the best food in Madison for sure!Cobb Salad: One of the best cobb salads (substitute chicken for the shrimp) Ive had. Its probably enough for 2 meals worth! All the ingredients were so fresh, I finished the entire thing in one go even though I felt full half way.Hangover omelette: Seems simple at first, but it comes with a really nice cheese sauce that takes it up a notch!Chicken and donut: This sweet-savory combination is not something youd see on a typical brunch menu, but its a great dish! Its basically perfectly cooked strips of fried chicken on a glazed donut. It comes with a really nice honey sriracha sauce, and everything goes so well together.Chicken and a Biscuit: This is a good, filling dish. The chicken, biscuit, and salad are all really tasty. Gravy is pretty good too. I would recommend getting some of the honey sriracha sauce that comes with the chicken and donut, coz this dish does feel a little plain at times.Cinnamon Roll French Toast: This was a Harvest special they had in September, and it was so so so good! Some of the French Toast Ive had. They were 3 huge, thick slices of cinnamon swirl bread, and it came with a mascarpone topping that was amazing. It was the perfect amount of sweet. If only I had gone there earlier in the month so I could have discovered this sooner. It still gives me dreams. The donuts are fresh, make sure you try the maple bacon. There is quite a wait sometimes though depending on when you go. In particular, brunch hours on a Saturday and Sunday are the worst. The food is definitely worth the wait though, and you can always hang out in the hotel lobby thats connected internally so youre not waiting out on a cold morning.
