Cafe Domestique is one of my favorite spots in Madison. All of the staff there are welcoming, knowledgeable, and talented, and I have always felt “at home” there. They are a very community oriented shop, and they bring out amazing ideas to help neighbors and the environment, such as “Can I Buy you a Drink?” and the Huskee cup swap. Their drinks are all amazing too, and their espresso is smooth as can be. I always recommended this place.

This place is a gem! The barista was so nice, helpful, and chill. We immediately felt at home. They have some great coffee roaster options (including Onyx and Intelligentsia’s exclusive new Geisha line). We opted for an oat milk matcha and it was one of the best we’ve had; lots of love went into serving us a high-quality drink. The cycling decor and vibe is just enough without feeling like overkill. Plus, the cycling store that’s connected looks rad! This is a great place to get your caffeine fix, whether you want to hang by their large windows and watch the street or grab a cup to go.

I think this is a great coffee shop. They always have Intelligentsia and feature great small batch roasters monthly. The space is cozy and staff are friendly. Espresso drinks are quite good, far better than the local and national chains in Madison. My wife loves the maple smoked salt latte and I live their cappuccino and drip. They also have a well curated snack selection - or they are right next door to Batch, so baked goods are ready to grab. Overall, a stand out coffee shop for Madison and in our regular rotation even though were on the west side.

Best coffee in town. Hands down. Highest quality that Ive tried. Its tied to a bike shop which is cool. Theyre a small place, they have a couple pastries from Batch to sell, and I like the drink specials. They also have all the milks, like oat milk! But hands down, best coffee. Limited so its quality, they focus on what matters and you can tell. They also just started doing this thing where Id you didnt bring a mug, you can borrow a sanitized one to use and bring it back next time and theyll sanitize it! So genius and so green!!

Poor experience- I don’t have a need to go back! I stood in front of the counter for more than 5 minutes waiting to be acknowledged by either of the employees before I gave up and left. There are too many good coffee places around to give this place and their bad attitude a second chance.

I really want to like this place - great location, creative drinks, and nice lounge area. However, there is way too much variability in the quality of the drinks. You need to go multiple times to see who makes a drink well, and hope they are there each time you go, otherwise you will have an inconsistent experience. I think management should train staff more and strive toward consistent quality.

From my experiences here, the staff and management really care about the quality of their product. Ive had espresso, cold brew, and pour over coffee here and its all been great. Be sure to check out the Monona century booklets. I also dig that its connected to a bike shop, so you can get bike maintenance done and coffee while you wait.

Ive been here twice now, I think its my new favorite coffee shop. Its small, 3 tables that fit 4, and 4 individual lounging chairs with a side table. Im a tea drinker, and they serve kilograms tea in tea bags. They have a small selection of pastries from batch bake house. It is next door to Cargo bike shop, and they share an entry way inside the shop. There is lots of biking themed art.Well lit space with natural light.

Coffee lovers secret spot! Well maybe not so secret anymore. Small fantastic location, simple basic ambiance - bike theme (but what else in this town). Simple menu, but have the best oatmilk lattes. Plain coffee and espressos are really good as well, but I encourage you to try the oatmilk. They do carry a few pastries, and unfortunately this has been the hit-miss part. In a small establishment they may not sell fast enough to justify the cost. So I learned not to go there hungry or take something along. Nice, friendly staff.

I hate leaving bad reviews but since my heart is racing from the decafe coffee that is quite clearly regular I feel compelled too. After ordering I heard the barista saying you dont like to carry decafe. Thats fine but please dont serve regular coffee as some sort of statement against decafe drinkers. If this was my first bad experience here I would probably let it go, but I now have had a few too many unfortunate customer service experiences and will sadly not go back. The coffee is good but the attitude waters it down.****Im changing my original rating from 2 stars to 4. I really appreciate the owner responding quickly with very detailed information about their processes and reaching out to make amends. I of course was irritated with recieving a caffinated beverage but after recieving a geniune response from the owner I feel it necessary to change my original rating. This is obviously a well meaning unique coffee spot, please check them out.
