Good place to get a little bit of work done. Their coffee is relatively strong. The tomato soup is too thick and cheesy, but the bread it comes with is delicious. The avocado toast is also good.
Nothing like a cold day and nice hot coffee right down there in the heart of state street
Their iced latte is just soooo good, it’s nice and simple and just soooooo good!
I love Collective and visit every time Im on Madison. Great vibe, legit coffee skills, and bakery goods that will make you come back for more!
Always a coffee shop that I visit whenever I’m in Madison, Wisconsin. They have some very tasty seasonal drinks, as well as a solid espresso pull and amazing pour over coffee. This location is always a bit busier than some of the others I feel due to its location, but it’s still worth dropping in for a visit.
I am at 30 minutes waiting now. No communicationI’m giving it a 2 in hopes I actually get my coffeeMy order was incorrect very good coffee drink, but after the wait it was wrong
I often come to this location to work on email when Im in downtown Madison. Besides the coffee, they have excellent sandwiches and other food. The only issue that I have is that a lot of the girls that work here are horrible at their jobs. Only here do I get served iced coffee in a mug, and my food order either wrong or with stuff missing or both. They make Penny from The Big Bang Theory look like a the best waitress ever.Other than that, its a good place to get some remote work done over coffee and some food. Just double check your order.
Colectivo was always one of my favorites. The atmosphere was not as great as it once was buy I know that was a COVID related change.
Friendly staff, good snacks, and good prices for coffee drinks.
It’s a cool place to stop. Food was good but I didn’t like the coffee
Great coffee, great vibe
The Spicy Fried Chicken sandwich 🥪 was messy but very tasty. It was a nice December day to sit out in the sun to enjoy it.
Amazing drinks. Fabulous foods. Gorgeous location.
I was quite impressed with not only the food but also meal presentation here. While it might be a little pricey for some customers who visit.. you really need to understand.. you get what you pay for.In this case, you might pay a little bit more.. however, you will get outstanding food quality & presentation.. instead of being served low quality quick fast food service..
This coffee place is my go to place! I love the vibe of this place. It is the perfect hipster place to study. I love that it is in the Hub and right on state and when they open the large doors and you can sit outside there is nothing like it on campus. The sun shines on you and you feel like you can accomplish anything! Which being a college student is really important to feel.
Best all around cafe in town! Ample seating, a wide variety of food options, and the coffee kicks. My only critique is that I wish they offered pour overs for their specialty roasts. I hear they do this in some of their other cafes.
Even the oat meal is so much better than the way I make oat meal, I feel like I should never bother to cook again.
Service was fast and friendly, and the coffee was good enough that I drank it black. I ordered a Southwest burrito, which was very tasty, though a bit on the small side. It was served quickly with some oranges and a nice side sauce. Really enjoyed the shop!
Love the coffee and the place.
The breakfasts and bakery are excellent. Espresso is spot on!
One of my favorite cafes! The coffee is very good, and the space itself is great for hanging out or getting some work done. Staff is always friendly. The food is good, and everything I’ve had to eat here definitely goes well with coffee, especially their Southwestern burrito. A place well worth visiting if you’re in the area!
Fun coffee spot in the midst of a bustling U of Wisconsin and downtown Madison commons area. Many coffee varieties and a wide selection of fresh baked goods to choose from. Prices are on par with what you would expect in a busy college town, but not cost prohibitive. Funky atmosphere and good vibes. Will be returning.
Fast service great drinks and really good food selection. Breakfast items are served all day long. You order your food and drinks at the counter. The drinks come up fast. The food is then delivered to your table for you. Really cool outside seating is located right along State Street so you can watch all the action.
Good coffee shop! Fun place to go with the open air and the action on state. Good coffee
Colectivo Coffee is a known quantity in Wisconsin and the State Street location is a special onein that its jammed sideways into its building and it always feels crowded even when only a few people are there. Its best to visit this location when the weather is warm and they can open up the enormous outdoor patio space they have. The coffee comes in a variety of roasts and they offer a ton of delicious foods. Highly recommended will return
Great vibe. Good coffee. Bad breakfast burrito. The latter is so small that I think I ate it in about 6 bites. The inside tastes more like ABC mush. Im sure the overhead is high at a location like State but for something that costs $7 youd think they could try a little bit harder. Wont be buying it again. The coffee still beats Starbucks by a little bit but the only major things that keeps me coming back are the locations and their atmosphere. The franchiseyness is also kind of lame too but with all things considered, its a pretty good trade-off
Love their coffees! So many delicious blends to take home and brew. Every bag is 16 oz!! Grab some breakfast, coffee and local pastry. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Wish we had Colectivo in Columbus, OH.
A plus for the decor and atmosphere. One of my favorite coffee shops during the summer as they have a great outside patio but when the sun is a little too much you can always enjoy their spacious inside with lots of unique seating. Great beverage choices and friendly staff. Always recommend.
Best patio in the area. Open and inviting. Friendly staff. Great snacks. Delicious coffee.
Clean, stylish and delicious food & drink. Nice staffs too. I love this place. Macaroons, Potato Bacon, Chocolate Croissant are my best so far.
The coffee is a bit burnt but the environment and the staff are excellent. The building and the design are perfect for people watching as well as working and socializing. I often get mozzarella sourdough baguette for brunch and late afternoons, and love it.
Colectivo is a spot to grab a fairly quick coffee that is not Starbucks. I did enjoy the atmosphere and enjoyed my cup of coffee. There is also available food for purchase which looks good, but I did not have any. I would recommend checking Colectivo out.
Between this one and the one on the square, I would recommend the square. While the food is comparable, there was a significant fly/mosquito issue, mostly upstairs. Constantly fighting them off me and my drink. Its hard to settle in and read a book or work on the computer under that environment.
Colectivo is one of the best coffee shops in Madison. They use Rishi tea which is the absolute best ever. The last time I visited, I was really interested in their new cold brew. After asking a few questions, the fine barista went over and got me a sample. Im glad too, because Im most certainly a tea loyalist. Although the cardamom honey latte is unbelievably tasty!
I really love collectivo. Great coffee and food. Its a great place to study, but because of that, its often really packed and there might not be places to sit.
Just visited for the 100th plus time or so yesterday and this place is still fantastic. I was picking up a bag of espresso and the baristas helped me out. The barista even pulled a shot of espresso for me to try and I was sold on that! The staff are both incredibly kind and knowledgeable. I’m so glad I spent many days and nights studying here :)
Great coffee, good food, fun place. This location is especially neat in the warm weather when they open up the giant doors/walls to the outside. They have a special guest coffee every week that is great to try as well.
If you want a stop where every basic girl is in there with her laptop, listening to headphones, and drinking coffee while doing something really important, this is the place for you. Their beverages are okay, I usually stick with an Italian soda, refreshing when youre doing the State St walk. Pretty decent with a wide choice of flavors.
Great coffee and breakfast food. Good place to bring kids. Quick and delicious.
I love their coffee, maybe second only to Porter in the Madison area. And this new spot on State is pretty cool. Worth checking out if youre in the area.
I love the location in Milwaukee on the lake front but this one really leaves more to be desired. I order an extra large iced tea and was given a Medium. When I questioned them about it they said that they were out of extra large cups so I got this one. No refund or anything? One of the staff members who helped me was also very rude and rolled his eyes at me. I had a very polite demeanor and wasnt being aggressive. There was no reason to act like that.Long story short the drink wasnt good, the staff (except one girl) was super rude, the food was only alright, and they think theyre just far too cool for good customer service. Ill be sticking to the small locally owned coffee shops on State Street from here on out.
Quite possibly the best coffee shop EVER to study, see friends, etc, I would live there if I could
Biscuit was way to big for the portion of meat, egg, and cheese. Very nice and enjoyable place to sit and relax. Mcds could have gave me the same experience.. just a healthier alternative I guess.. I did enjoy the orange slices with my sandwich.
The variety of the offering is plentiful and the drinks were good but the service is horrible. The staff is rude and act like they are doing you a favor. Cant recommend do to the poor service.
Ive mostly gone in the summer when they have seasonal smoothies, which Ive found to be very good. Im not a big coffee drinker but everyone Ive gone with says that the coffee is good
Great place to eat food. Liked spending time there for breakfast and lunch .good to have money and sandwiches and iced coffee is great. Loved meeting all the nice people buying food and coffee.
Kind & helpful counter folks, great food & coffee--the vegan bhan mi is one of my fave sandwiches in town.
Dont come here!! By all means, if you want to keep the money in your pocket and not get addicted to the coffee (i.e. crack in a cup), then stay far away. Consider checking out the 711 around the corner
Amazing place to grab coffee, the atmosphere is great and the employees are a class act.
Great place to study, work, and enjoy a nice cup of joe ☕️
I dont understand how this place stays in business. Maybe its the location. Maybe its the open-wall look that makes it hip. Do most people here like slow service and sitting in 80 degrees of 90% humidity while they wait, and then sweating while they eat? I dont. Sure, the staff are friendly and the foods good but thats about it.
Great location on State St. with two levels of seating. The tables are small and packed given the location, but you can usually find a place to sit if youre working. The coffee is tasty and the sandwiches are too.
Nice staff, excellent coffee, good food and nice atmosphere. I remember getting a cappuccino at another location and it was literally like drinking a caffeine cloud. Amazing!
Fast service, kind staff. Definitely one of the better coffee shops in downtown.
My favorite coffee chop chain in Wisconsin. I love the ambience of their store on Capitol square, but the state Street one is food for quick access to their menu. My dad purchased ground Venezuelan coffee beans here and loved it.
Great atmosphere, especially when the weather is good and all the doors and windows are open. The coffee and espresso drinks are excellent. The best coffee shop on State Street. It can be hard to find a table in the afternoon.
Amazing cinnamon rolls! We look forward to them every year when we come downtown to watch the Madison Mini Marathon!
Rated 3 stars only because this one tends to be swamped with college students and its hard to find a spot at times. Otherwise, coffee is great! I prefer the Capitol Square location, and the Monroe St location is very nice as well.
Consistent with Collectivo coffees elsewhere, this coffee shop has good food and decent service. Not the best store layout though.
Really great feature about this place is how the side opens up into a patio like area. The staff is also very friendly and can make great drinks. The food selection is also delicious. Little expensive but with the quality and atmosphere, its worth it
Great place to drink coffee and do homework/work. Theres a lot of seating, especially upstairs. Great atmosphere
My go to if I need somewhere to study/kill time. Really cool atmosphere. Only downside is the wifi cycles every 30 minutes, but thats not a huge deal.
Such good food. Recommend the Cauliflower Banh Mi or the pesto sandwich.
The open air layout is comfortable and inviting. Makes for a pleasant, fresh experience in an excellent corner setting along a busy walking traffic retail avenue.
Its a nice location and a huge coffee shop. Its collective coffee, so upper end of average, but food is WAY over priced, and shockingly low quality. Gets really busy too.
Colectivo is a cool place for any meal. I enjoyed dinner here one evening and lunch the following day. There are a variety of tea options if thats your thing. I enjoyed a hummus wrap and a a curry chicken salad wrap with a iced sporttea. The restaurant has a lovely outdoor patio. Perfect for people watching!
Symbolizes most of whats wrong with the new, mega-corporate State Street, which functions as an outdoor mall for rich students and their richer alumni parents. They probably make the best espresso & latte in Madison, though. *shakes fist*
If you want cheap coffee that tastes like month old semi oil here you go. Can get a better cup of coffee at the truck stop or pay a little more go to Starbucks.
Good collective, centrally located just off the main capital square. Nice building with open panel sides and plenty of seating.
Fabulous coffee. Great staff.
Very cool place. Enjoyed the hot chocolate. Friendly would go again definitely
Great place to people watch, study, write, have coffee a beer or a bite to eat. Very very busy, frequently no place to sit. Wifi. Staff is great.
Great place with prompt service and Im pretty sure they turned up the temperature in all of Wisconsin just to make my visit better
What can you say. Every Colectivo is great. Very fast and friendly staff. Great Coffee.
Fast, reliable WiFi, good vegan food and drink options, and lots of seating. The outdoor seating is great when its available. Great place to get some work done between classes.
My favorite location! My girlfriend and I are teachers in Milwaukee, but we often drive out to State St to do our grading and lesson plans because this is such a cool spot
Great coffee and an awesome light foods menu. Everything tastes good. You might struggle for seating though during peak hours.
Lovely place to work and people watch near U Wisconsin campus.
Great coffee for every flavor profile. One of the best places for baked goods in town!
I love the upstairs! The place has a busy, fast paced atmosphere that contrasts well with the cozier, home-y style of the other coffee shops on State St. That said, not the best place if you are looking for getting a lot of work done. The wifi is always asking you to reconnect every 45-ish minutes and that can be quite annoying if you plan on staying much longer than that.
I went there twice this week to pick up lunch from work. Out of the 3 times Ive done that my order has been wrong ever single time. Ordered the avocado BLT get back to work paid like $12 for the sandwich and there was no avocado on the avocado BLT. Today I went and ordered the turkey club because I didnt think the avocado BLT would come with avocado again. I ordered cheddar instead of swiss. Get back to my office and there is two huge slices of swiss on the sandwich. Get it together. They make it seem like they understand when you order it but you have to check every single time. Both sandwiches because of this were extremely over priced and honestly its upsetting that I wasted my money.
Its nice to see Colectivo show up in the campus area of Madison. When i went to school here, there really wasnt a nice coffee shop around. There are the local places the are up and down State, but many of them really dont make coffee that is similar to what I prefer. It does feel skeezy going to the big chain when there are locally owned, 1 location, stores nearby though. One big downside is that they dont do pour over here. So youre stuck with drip of whatever variety they made that day.
This is a fantastic chain of coffee shops. Their food and drinks are of excellent quality. I used to be a barista, so when I ordered a somewhat unnecessarily complex drink (the store wasnt busy at the time) and it was made to perfection, I was very pleased. They have free wifi that is usually fast and reliable. In the summer, the shop completely opens up to the outside. Id recommend this place to anyone.
I love the atmosphere and the staff here... Coll places, oh and the coffee is tasty!
Good coffee.A nice break in the day.
Super helpful staff. Wonderful!
The Pomegranate lemonade and oatmeal cookie absolutely delicious
I stopped in to get a late lunch, and to have a spot to do a little work. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere was nice. The veggie pesto burrito I ordered was very good, but I felt is was small for the $6.50 or so it cost me. The orange slices it came with were more of a garnish than a side; I had three pieces that amounted to less than 1/3 of a standard orange.I also got the featured tea (The Gala) which was red hibiscious. The tea tasted and smelled like cherry cough syrup and I was not able to finish most of it due to its unappealing pungency.Overall, I am unsatisfied with my visit. The warmth of the staff and the quality of the burrito were the only redeming qualities of my visit. I left the cafe still hungry.
Love collectivo but holy hell do they burn the coffee at this location.
Staff can be rude and there are typically large number of homeless people coming in and out of the store. Very busy and WiFi is spotty- also usually children walking around the store asking if you would buy their candy. Bathrooms always seem dirty. If you like distractions and a crowded study spot- this is a good place.
