They were out of their non-dairy ice cream which was a bummer but they are least had a few sorbet options.

I found out a couple days ago that McCools has new owners and new employees. Their new employees are really nice and they socialize and talk to you like a friend would. Their ice cream is great as always 👏

The ice cream is delicious and the customer service is always great. I only will suggest that when an order have different items to go, they should identify with a sharpie which ones are sugar free.

I find very rude management a big deterrent to this place. i ordered 4 quarts of ice cream and was given a pickup time. upon arrival, a very rude woman who i believe is the assistant manager informed me i shouldn’t be placing a large order online without leaving a tip during ordering AND ordering past 8pm!firstly, if you don’t want to take online orders past a certain time, then don’t allow online ordering after a designated time. my assigned pickup time set by the store was 40 minutes after i placed order.secondly, i choose to tip in cash in the store upon pickup. after her attitude and rude statements, i left her nothing.won’t be ordering again. there are many other places. i try to support local merchants, but their consistent rudeness has caused me to rethink going back again. management needs a team building meeting and review course in customer service.

So, today, I decided to go on a much deserved adventure... Okay, so the coronavirus has somewhat truncated my perspective on adventure...but there are joys that still can qualify and I didnt need my passport. Yes, McCools is the spot. I was determined to let my inner child run rampant, and overindulge in the sweet, creamy sinfulness of their heavenly treats. No oxymoron here, folks. This has got to be one of, if not THE best, ice-cream establishments around. Well, the moral of this story is, after a day of Zoom, WebX, or Gotomeetings, go to McCools for some praline, moosetracks, rum raisin, or any one of their inspirational child-joy flavors. Youll be glad you took the adventure.

Owner incredibly rude on the phone when trying to place a cake order. There was a glitch on the website that did not allow for an online cake order. After trying the site multiple times, a call was made to the shop to try and place the order. The owner called the customer nasty and difficult for not placing the order online, before the owner walked through the site with the customer and then realized the site did not list cakes on the online order menu. Quite possibly the worst customer experience when only trying to support a local business.

Great place in downtown Madison with a lot of specialty ice cream flavors from Hershey. Definitely gets busy on most nice days & nights but usually worth the wait to try a new flavor combination. Id definitely recommend stopping here if youre in town for dinner.

If you are looking for a fine variety of ice cream, this is your place, however it comes at a price.Walking in, it feels like any other mom and pop ice cream shop. Limited seating and a lot of families come in, so if you come during rush time, expect to wait a while.Why would wait a while? It mostly due to the inefficient way of service. Tack that on with lots of kids and your wait time for ice cream can be in the 10s or 20s of minutes.However, when you I did eventually order, so many options of flavors and toppings. Good proportions and excellent tasting ice cream were my treat for my patience.What did get me though was the price, two sundaes with toppings and I was paying close to 15 dollars. Its a bit steep considering it is a mom and pop shop. I can go to other places and pay half that for the same amount of food.If its your only option, then its not bad to go to, however you can find better value for your time and money at another spot.

Always a pleasure to visit this local gem. The staff is always friendly. Ryan always has a smile on his face and making you feel like family. Never go wrong with a midnight caramel - cookie doughlicious combo.

Ice Cream good but HOW DO YOU HAVE TWO PEOPLE WORKING ON A SATURDAY NIGHT IN AUGUST??? Had to wait in line for almost 40 mins to put my order in. Awful service...just wish the ice cream wasn’t that good or I’d find somewhere else to take my kids.

Great ice cream selection, and it always tastes great (which is why Im giving 2 stars instead of 1), but the staff could attempt to be a bit more friendly. One person in particular is always so rude, and its a shame, because I think hes management or the owner... In addition, my company had purchased eight quarts of ice cream for a company ice cream bar, and they refused to give us anything to scoop the (rock hard) ice cream with... He mumbled something about people stealing the scoops, I dont know... Strange explanation... Very unwilling to go an extra step in the customer service department. In all honesty, I will probably go back just because McCools is really the only ice cream shop in Madison, but if my company ever decides to host another ice cream social, I will drive to Morristown to avoid this frustration again.

Just went to McCool’s. Friday night. Line out the door. Two people working. One of them cleaning, the other one helping customers. I asked why the other person can’t assist customers and was told they were closing soon and he had to clean. It was 9:00. They close at 10:00. He was rude and seemed to care more about closing than helping customers. We left. I have been a customer for almost 10 years. Never going back.

This was my favorite ice cream shop when I went to college here 8 years ago & I went back today and it didnt disappoint!! The Signature frozen yogurt blends are amazing. Especially the pumpkin cinnamon Farleigh Ridiculous blend ♡♡♡♡

Just leaving the place... came 5 min before the store closed on Friday night with my boyfriend and my son and first of all the store was full of people inside and outside. The girl at the counter was very rude trying to rush us because they were going to close in 5 min... she said pretty much hurry up that i want to go home... but she didnt say anything to the people that were next to us and were going to order... so walked away without buying anything and thinking to not come back...

Ice cream is great, there are over 20 flavors to choose from, staff is friendly, there is a water fountain and the place is cool (inside) and clean, and it also has parking and outdoor seating. Hey also serve coffee. Cant ask for more.

Seems an ice cream store would be able to deliver on an order for an ice cream cake 48 hours in advance, or at the very least have ready made cakes, but not only did they say no but the gentleman was rather rude about it too.
