Front office staff were less than pleasant to deal with for my elderly mother-in-law after we accidentally went to the wrong location for her appointment. The gentlemen at the other location texted Dr. Cecil to say we were on our way, but when we arrived it was after their apparent no grace 10 minute late window. Rather than apologizing and offering her another appointment time since we were 11 minutes late, the receptionist spoke so rudely to my elderly mother-in-law, I was embarrassed on her behalf. Not the southern hospitality I’d like someone to experience who’s just moved to the south.Based on reviews this seems like a great place if you know you won’t accidentally be running late.
From the moment I made my appointment until the end the staff was absolutely amazing. The front office staff was friendly and super welcoming. Jennifer and Dr Cecil both had by far the best bedside manner of any office I’ve been too and super helpful with all my questions. I will definitely recommend them to anyone!
Its been a while since Ive been to an eye doctor so it was a huge relief when Jennifer and Dr. Cecil took the time to walk me through the process and not make me feel rushed. The front office staff were very friendly and helpful especially while I tried to find the perfect frames. I would highly recommend them.

I love coming into this MyEyeDr. You can definitely tell that they care about their patients. The continued professionalism as far as the masks go, is the way everyone should be doing it! They definitely got that right! You can tell that they are keeping the patients safety as the forefront. It’s always refreshing going in to their store I always feel at home!

This was my first and last time using this place for glasses. I pay out of pocket or go blind. In February I used my benefits here to get glasses, and because the manager had somewhere to go in a hurry and rushed through my frame fitting and selection, and sold me insurance that She said would cover my glasses if Lost or Destroyed before rushingly passing me off to another associate and leaving, I return today to replace my destroyed glasses, and the only thing she offered me was to pay a discounted price for glasses. I would have never gotten insurance only covers glasses if they are just broken. Shes only interested in making a buck.

What a pleasant experience my husband and I had this week at My Eye Dr.- Madison location. Stephanie was so professional and has amazing customer service. She was able to work us in during the crazy covid-19 madness and she did a fantastic job answering our questions and following all of the new procedures that are a must these days. Tina, the manager, gave me a call today to let me know that she found a discount that could be applied to make our total cheaper. Tina was also amazing and spent time working through which pair of glasses would work best. We will definitely go to this location from now on. Great job team!
This is a great optometry office. It is close to work for a quick visit on lunch. Everyone is very open and honest with you, and provide A+ care. I also enjoyed Jennifer showing me how to put in my contacts! She was very patient and kind. Defiantly will be coming back here. Thank you!

I came to the Madison location and didnt have an appointment, but I needed a glasses repair. I called the number on the door and a very nice lady with blonde hair greeted me, and took my glasses inside and repaired them, with no charge, and she saved the day, as I was headed out of town! I recommend going there for any needs! So friendly!!!
Hands down the best place to go to get glasses. Tina and her team helped my son get the right size glasses. I will continue to go back here. Everyone here is very polite and helpful with anything from answering questions to picking out your frames.

Each time Ive been or called, the reception staff was relatively uninterested or rude. The doc I got assigned to had the worst bedside manner Ive seen from a doctor, not even caring to answer questions I tried asking. Walmart had a better doctor honestly. After all of that my prescription still ended up being wrong. I dont understand what the issue is, but I dont intend to go back. Three stars because there were two or three nice enough people and I hate leaving bad reviews.
I just had my first exam here and was very pleased. I was taken back before my appointment time. The tech was very friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable, and their equipment is topnotch. Dr. Tucker was extremely nice and informative. He suggested a new brand of contacts to me, but wanted to be sure that I tried them for as long as I wanted before placing my order. The best part of the experience was probably selecting new glasses with Kimberly. She was very patient, kind, honest, and wanted to help me select the best items and upgrades for my specific needs. The rewards program they have is great. If you buy a years worth of contacts, you get a discount on a pair of glasses, as well as a free pair of sunglasses from a pretty wide selection, or $30 off any other pair of sunglasses. They will also replace any lost or torn contacts, or swap any unopened boxes for a new prescription, should your prescription change. I would highly recommend this location.

I took my daughter for her first eye exam and had excellent service. She was VERY scared about the dilation drops so the office manager came in and held her hand. I was very pleased with the whole entire staff. We most definitely will be back!
Went in for a new prescription for reading glasses. Could not see better at work so went back for another prescription 2.5 months later and was given a revised prescription. Spoke to office manager and would not reimburse additional cost for second pair of lenses. I will use another optometrist next time. Do not recommend.
I live about an hour away from this location but I’ve always loved the variety of glasses they offer. I use a different eye doctor so I brought my prescription and my insurance cards in about 10 days ago and everyone was so helpful! The lady at the desk looked up my insurance and told me what my insurance would cover and what I would have to pay out of pocket. She told me someone would come out to help me shortly so I started looking around and I found one pair I liked. Then Darren came and looked around with me. I told him I wanted something unique and he asked me some questions. He found these awesome Oliver Peoples glasses that I probably never would have tried on, but I did and I loved the way the looked on me! Darren really went above and beyond helping me find the perfect glasses and even educated me about my vision and taught me some techniques on how to preserve my vision. So I had two pairs I really liked and a couple different employees came and looked and gave me their opinions. I decided on the Oliver Peoples frames kind of unsure about my decision but everyone told me they looked great. He told me they would take 7-10 business days so I wasn’t expecting them to be ready until midweek next week. But I got a call yesterday and Darren told me my glasses were ready and he remembered me saying I live in Cullman and he told me he spoke with the manager who said she would be in Cullman on Thursday and offered to bring them with her to deliver them to me or they could ship them to my house. I couldn’t wait to get them so I got them yesterday and they are perfect! I love the way they fit me and I have already received so many compliments! Darren really went above and beyond helping me and I can’t recommend this place or him enough!!
Love the people here! tessa was a great contacts coach for my contacts and the workers are always very nice. i wouldnt call them JUST MyEyeDr, but i would call them MyEyeFamily

I needed a backup pair of progressive glasses before my insurance ended. I had a current eyeglass prescription and was able to make an appointment quickly that accommodated my narrow timeline. Courtney was a Sweetheart and extremely polite getting me scheduled. Tina D. was wonderful and extremely knowledgeable when I came in to select all the correct options for my progressive lenses to maximize the vision benefits I had. I’m not sure why several people had such issues. I called yesterday to make an appointment. Tina was extremely nice and helpful. I wanted an appointment soon and ended up with one two weeks out which was ok. Later that day I got a call that they had a cancellation and I could come the NEXT day! They were all very helpful with insurance, frames, payment etc. The tech was very nice and the doctor was thorough and nice. I can highly recommend them.
Doctor and tech are great. Did have to wait 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time to see the doctor. Front desk staff are not friendly and they are incompetent. They scheduled me an appointment with a specialist for 9 am of next week. Did not write down or give me any information about the appointment (location, doctor...etc). I came back up there to pick up my contacts. When i asked for the information she had none because she didnt make a note of it in my record. She just looked confused. When I asked if she remembered this literally from two days before she said I make appointments for a lot of people obviously not well enough. Since she had no clue who my appointment was with or what time, she rescheduled me for a random time that I did not approve of and that I cant go to. I made a yelp account just so I can say dont go here. Go to the one in Providence!
I walked into Schaeffer not really wanting to buy, just to look, but the staff was so friendly, and helpful. I purchased a year supply of contacts, with my insurance. They gave me a free pair of sunglasses, and 50% off of a pair of glasses as well. The management had changed for the better and I will defiantly give them a 5 star!! RECOMMENDED!
I shopped around to many locations before I choose Schaeffer for my sunglasses. My son and daughter both purchased their sunglasses from here. From the second I entered, I was welcomed with a smile and an urgency. I have been to other eye places and I understand that the LAB has the control of the orders most of the time. Although, mine were not delayed and on time, I understand that sometimes it is out of the employees control. I would highly recommend.

What a bust! They had no problem selling me a pair of glasses with all the trimmings ($1200) but when it came to needing a repair on the frames they told me there was nothing they could do. Since when do you sell a product and then not support it with repairs?! I spent so much money on these glasses and have worn glasses my entire life (50+ yrs). I have never had anyone ever tell me...there is nothing we can do. I have no faith in this company and will go out of my way to make sure others are aware to BEWARE!

Poor service. Had a bad experience last year with them messing up my insurance. And this year with an appointment. It takes me over an half and hour to get to this office. Traffic was bad so I called them to let them know I was on my way. They say my appointment was must have been canceled and asked if I spoke with a “real” person when I confirmed. They say the doctor isn’t seeing any additional people today. While I’m on the phone with the Providence office they leave a message saying they “found” my appointment and it’s for next week. Even through all my records show (and their phone call previously). Someone in that office messed up. Not going to them anymore
I just left from getting an exam for contacts and I had a really good experience. Everyone was friendly, I was in and out in a timely manner and I got what I went for. Simple.
I took my Grandson who happens to have medcaid for his eye exam. The doctor was great but office staff were rude and lacked knowledge of the process. Once I said we were using medicaid they couldnt be bothered to show us frames . Literally pointed at area where the frames were and sat down . I was very offended at the difference in how we were treated.
We have had nothing but great experiences at this office. My husband, son along with myself switched to Schaffers Eye Center over a year ago and every time we all go in it has been nothing but a positive experience. The front desk is friendly, the Dr. is friendly and professional and every phone conversations I have had with them has been great. We very much recommend this office.

Dr Tucker!!!! Its hard to believe that he is a doctor or a money sucker? I had a terrible experience there and that was my first and last visit there. I could very well understand they doing all those tests just to make money. In my case the nurse said everything is good but the doctor said its not and requires different tests. Before having the report he was telling about it. I wanted to see the report and he replied its not with him! I dont recommend anyone to go to him in future.
I ordered my glasses on March 29, 2018, I still dont have them ad was informed that I might get them by May 25, 2018. The Doctors are great but the lab thats another story. You just take a chance with them. My husband got his glasses there also with no issues. So I guess you can say you have a 50-50 chance of having problems. Maybe concern purchasing your glasses somewhere else after your appointment with the optometrist.

So I greeted myself and I requested to be directed to the men’s salt brand glasses (which they advertise as having.)The response was“the men’s and women’s are mixed and the brands are sort of mixed as well. Someone came in yesterday and moved things around. I know we have lots of those here”After 15 min of walking around and leaving to answer phone calls. I gave up.Unorganized & unhelpful. Wouldn’t recommend.

I was a customer for 5 years but not anymore. My and I wife had eye examination 12/28/17 at 1:45 and 2:00pm. We had gotten a reminder card in the mail a month ago and called and confirmed the appointment. Yesterday 12-27-17 they called to confirm the appointment. We walked into the eye care center and they said there was no appointment scheduled. We were the only people there at that time. The young man at the counter was nice about the problem but did not offer any solutions.
Why pay $600 to $1200 for a pair of glasses. Discover Costco vision department. I bought new designer frames with progressive lens for about $200. And I love them. And, I get free service, such as adjustments, replacement parts...whatever....anytime I need them. You are not getting better glasses just because you pay an outrageous price! You are getting regular run-of-the-mill glasses at an enormous price.

The front staff was not friendly at all. After my eyes was dilated I was told here are the glasses and the employee walked off. I couldnt see to pick out any glasses. No help or customer service at all. There is not a free one year warranty on the frames like other places either. I have never got glasses anywhere that didnt have a free one year warranty on the frames.There glasses are overpriced as it is.I will never do business there ever again.

I am giving this place one star because I cant give them a zero. The doctor is great but the other staff are very unhelpful and rude. I ordered my glasses 3 weeks ago and still havent received them. But I have received 3 messages reminding me that my glasses were ready for pick up but unfortunately everytime I have gone to pick them up, they werent there or even ready. Lost my whole family as customers. Please stay away from this place

Prescription was late getting to my husband who was being deployed. They said glasses would be there on time. Came day after he left. I picked them up, shipped them quickly to Hawaii before he left on a boat. They gave him wrong prescription and ordered wrong color lenses for his sunglasses. Terrible experience. DO NOT GO HERE!!!
My experience today was very unpleasant. I came at 11:00 for an 11:30 appointment. There were issues with my insurance coverage and at that time all else was pushed to the side. They never asked for another payment option. Basically theres nothing else we care to help you with today so goodbye. I had two pair of my son eyeglasses with me that needed repair and they wouldnt even look at them. 15 minutes after leaving I stopped at another eye exam location and they helped me and fix those eyeglasses immediately free of charge.

I was turned around for my appointment after being 15 minutes late, due to traffic. The doctor refused to see me according to the front office staff. The staff, a dark complexion male, was not helpful at all insisted that I reschedule. He seemed be bothered by me even being in the office. Complete waste of time.

Horrible Experience, I lost my Job with the Government and temporarily was on Medicaid which they take. They treated me like a second class citizen, rude, obnoxious, unprofessional. I couldnt believe how unpleasant and unprofessional and dont even get me started on their outrageous pricing. Not only will I never return Ill make sure to spread the word of this horrible joke of a Business.
Dr Kennedy, Leslie and Holly were a fantastic team. They quickly and efficiently took care of my needs (exam, new perscription, frame selection, lense selection). Then they patiently took care of my 6 year old daughters needs (exam, new perscription, frame selection) We will definitely return!

April 28th I went to the dr at Schaeffer Eye Center in Madison. I was dissatisfied with the service, wrote my $10 copay check and got the hell out of there without filling my glasses prescription.I felt like a mark insread of a patient because they kept pushing upsell products. Progressive lenses this, no glare coating that even in the exam room! I went to discuss costs while my eyes were dilating. The cost of the coating alone is astronomical. I asked if I really needed it and her answer was I wouldnt wear glasses without it. Thats great. But not at all what I asked. As I said, I left without glasses after paying my copay. (I did drive myself home with dilated eyes. I was not offered any tinted protection when I left nor was I informed how long it could last)Just YESTERDAY (6/1) the $10 copay check hit my bank account causing an overdraft. I called to see what the hell happened. The lady told me their system had been down and they couldnt process payments for a while now. THEIR SYSTEM HAD BEEN DOWN. As in an internal computer program that does ACH couldnt process payments and they just sat.Let me rephrase: for over one month they did not process any payments because it was easier to not get paid than take checks to a physical bank. Thus screwing up my and potentially hundreds of others banking.*WHAT????!!!!WHO RUNS A BUSINESS LIKE THIS??!!!I was already not coming back. They didnt need to make the decision any easier.*I understand it is my responsibility to maintain my bank account and ensure checks are processed. This was still a shock to me as Im sure it was to many others.
I bought $900 glasses from them in July, and the nose piece fell off a few weeks later. They repaired it but said the place where it screwed in was stripped so it might not hold. Sure enough, a week later they both fell off. I took them back in and they repaired them again, but admitted they were defective. I asked to have them replaced and they refused! They said they would sell me new frames for 20% off. The same ones with the same problem and no warranty!
Pharmacy sent over multiple insurance authorizations to the office for the prescription Dr. Tucker prescribed and each and every one of them went unanswered/unreturned. I have spent three weeks trying to case paperwork, when all that is needed is a signature. This is unprofessional, causing needless stress and suffering. The office is careless with paperwork and doesnt care about the level of patient care
After combining my EyeMed discount and FEP Blue Vision plan for 3 years Ive been told you cant do that and you must pick one. Upon further research and a call to BCBS, Ive determined this to be true, and the fact that they did honor both was a mistake in my favor for the past 3 years. Im still a little annoyed at the way it was handled as the manager looked at us like crazy people when we said we have been doing this all along (since I changed insurance plans) and this is the first weve been told it cannot be combined.Overall I like the Madison location better, a bit less selection on glasses, but not as busy. Started in the University Drive location since they do Saturday appointments (Madison doesnt).FYI: for contact wearers this place charges a $75 fitting fee (with insurance), Walmart is only $30... contacts are contacts are contacts... I did a contact exam last year and got sticker shock at the register, but my fault for not asking first.
