The man at the store is always friendly and helpful. They have delicious falafel, and can prepare fresh sandwiches. They also have lots of packaged food from Morocco.
A great neighborhood store. The owner is welcoming and nice.
Best Shawarma around. Owners are extremely friendly and offer top notch customer service.Definitely a good food spot. Also, the lamb is to die for. Absolutely on point.
New to the area and was pleased to find a place that sold Arabic food/groceries. Very nice people. Nothing had prices though which was quite inconvenient. We bought 3 items (Labne, bread, olives) for a total of $9. Having just moved from Dearborn MI, this was very pricey (would have been $4 there), but Im learning everything is more expensive in MA! It would be very helpful if things had prices on it though and Id probably buy more if I knew how much I was going to pay before being rung up.
These guys are wicked nice and helped me find the stuff I need. Honestly, the prices are better than anything youre gonna find in the greater Boston area for some staples, and the desserts are top notch.
Fresh meat there
This is a nice, small middle eastern grocery store. There are two aisles of dry/packaged/canned goods shelves, a few refrigerator cases, a small produce section, a deli, and a meat counter. Right now is during the pandemic, and the cashier wasnt wearing a mask -- but he was otherwise pretty friendly and helpful. The only people in there were me, the cashier, the butcher/deli worker, and one other customer. The store had everything I was looking for, and seemed mostly clean and organized. My only issue was that almost nothing had prices on it -- which in and of itself wouldnt be a problem except that when I went to check out, the cashier said so how much are we going to charge you today? and just came up with a number out of his head (didnt add anything up on a register or calculator). The exactly $17 even that he quoted felt reasonable to me given what I was purchasing, but I dont believe for a second that was the true total given that the one thing I bought that did have a tag on it was labeled $1.99 (not an even number). Still, I would definitely shop here again.
I mistakenly have one star, so I increased it because the service is very good.
Just had the best lamb gyro!! Best hummus too!! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely plan on coming back soon
The owner baba is very cheap. When my friends & I ask for extra plates, spoons/forks, & sauce. He either says no or wants to charge us extra. Mediocre customer service skills. Baba is overall a very kind man, but he needs to satisfy his/her customer satisfaction needs.
Its a good place to get goat meat
Very kind and good selection from this specialty store. Across the street from J Malden Center too.
Yummy falafel and shwarma. 😋
Super friendly, and the best falafel sandwich I’ve ever had!
Good Middle Eastern food. They have all sort of cooking materials. Only one problem, the prices vary a little bit from visit to visit. Its more like they charge you fair but not exact. Also, the market needs a bit more caring, for that some veggies tend to be days old. Nevertheless, I will return because they have a lot of good items.
Very nice customer service and great selection.
Amazing customer service, ready made food in the back, and halal meat.
Great service, great people... The old man Baba is a sweet heart... Must try it...
Just had the best lamb gyro!! Best hummus too!! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely plan on coming back soon
Very sweet little Middle Eastern store with a sandwich and hot food counter in the back. Inexpensive and quite good. We bought Falafel sandwiches and ate them on a bench outside in the sun. The proprietor was friendly and very sweet.
The prices are very affordable than other grocery stores and they have items other grocery stores dont have.I really like this place and can confidently recommend.
I love this place because it is authentic and the owner, Baba, is a sweet man. All of grocery items are straight from the Middle East, and this is the only clean Halal butcher in Boston in my opinion.
Small, quaint superstore for Mediterranean groceries. Very warm behavior,. You can use the restroom upon request.
Falafel sandwich wonderful
Good place to buy groceries and halal meat
The people are very nice. Good quality halal meat is available with very affordable price.
Good option for Arabic supermarkets as they have fresh halal meat, chicken, hotdog and liver. They have Arabic groceries and cooked food also.
The food is very delicious and the owner is super friendly and nice
Fair prices, friendly people!
Good for halal meat. Nice service and quality
Very nice and friendly, you can find groceries, halal fresh meat, frozen meat, as well as cocked ready meals, with good price rate
Got goat shoulder here once and made da best goat curry ever. Thank you fellas
I stopped into Baba while exploring downtown Malden. Theyre all the way down at the end of Pleasant St, so it could be easy to miss them. I was just popping in to check it out, but the owner was so friendly and proud of his prepared food that I decided to get lunch there. While I was deciding what to order, the owner offered me a free sample of their home made falafel. It was the tenderest, most flavorful falafel that Ive ever had.I ended up ordering braised lamb shanks and okra (a traditional Middle Eastern dish), that came in a perfectly-seasoned tomato sauce, with salad, over rice pilaf. It was huge, and delicious. They also have shwarma, and other hot dishes that change daily. I am going to become a regular there.
