My daughter and I went to one of our favorite breakfast places in downtown Mansfield this morning, as usual it did not disappoint! I had the Farmers Skillet (eggs any style, homefries, bacon or sausage, toast). I get mine with a side of their fabulous hollandaise sauce to dip my home fries in! My daughter got blueberry pancakes topped with strawberries and whipped cream, a side of home fries and bacon. We ended up taking half of each home! Delicious! Waitstaff is friendly, prompt and helpful, menu is extensive and the restaurant is super clean. Definitely recommend!

A busy place on the weekends but well worth the effort. Always great service matched by the hearty breakfast choices. Never disappointed.

Wow....now that I got that out let me enlighten you on my visit. We visited on a Saturday morning for breakfast. We arrived around 7:20 and it wasnt too busy so we were seated right away. The layout out the restaurant is nice.Server:Our server was Barbara and she was very nice and attentive. She was courteous and quite nice while answering our questions and taking our order.Food/Beverages:We went with the regular hot coffee for our drink and I fell in love with it. The menu stated it was their own special brew and it was brewed to perfection. Take it from someone who drinks coffee everyday, I know a good coffee when I taste it. Maybe its just my taste buds but the coffee didnt have a very strong tast and with a little cream and sugar it was ready to go. Our food came out within a VERY reasonable time. Everything tasted so fresh and boy was it DE-LICI-OUS.Overall:I wish we lived closer so we could visit this place more often. Best believe its going on my list of places to visit when Im back in town. If you are questioning if you should give this place a try, stop thinking about and just go.

Food is really good, hardest part about ordering is do I want breakfast or lunch? Had to get a bit of both. Our server was great, food was great. Lucky to be w our family and celebrate my daughters conformation. We had a party of 9 and we’re very close to each other. Ty!!!!

The flavorless food and undercooked home fries complement the lack of service and grimy restrooms.I was excited when we ordered the benedict only to be greeted by a curdled, chunky, broken hollandaise sauce that tasted like it was made days ago.The atmosphere is cold and mundane, both in its looks and feel. There doesn’t seem to be any life in Cafe on the Commons in Mansfield, and there doesn’t seem to be any good cooking either. I will not be returning, and I will definitely not be recommending the restaurant to anyone else.

This is the best breakfast spot in town! Prices are great and its portioned right so you clean your plate and feel good after still! I would like to go back and try the lunch menu soon!

Food delicious and fresh!

The staff was great even on a very busy Saturday lunchtime when they were short-staffed. The menu is huge but all the food we had (Pancakes and Sausage, Portobello Mushroom Grilled Cheese, a Vegetarian version of Eggs Benedict and a turkey and cheese sandwich were well-done. There are lots of vegetarian options on the menu.

Always a great breakfast, charming town square style atmosphere. Steak tips benedict is our go-to here.

Nice clean service, didnt really care for the hash

We havent been here in a couple years. The food was still really good for the most part though we got bacon and it wasnt great - the best way to describe it is soggy. Service was prompt even though it was busy.

Plenty of food. Asked for butter, got a magazine blend...stuff refused to melt. If I am not getting Butter I should be told its not butter or give me real butter. Pancakes...lukewarm. Bacon was crisp but thin. Temp inside should of been warmer. It was too cold to enjoy the place or food. Waitress was nice when she appeared.. wont go back.

It was pretty good ordered and ready in 5 minutes I ordered an Italian and dont forget napkins for sure it was so soaked with oil and vinegar by the time I got to my other half it was a floppy fish. Over all the meats were very fresh

First time visit, the wait time wasn’t bad. However, when we finally got called for our table no one walked us over or showed us to our table we were just pointed in the direction and were a little confused since we’ve never been. Arriving at our table there was no silverware or menus or even a QR code for us to scan with our phones. We waited about 10 mins for our server to come over and she seemed overwhelmed with all the tables. We still had no menu and had to use one from the table over which was not sanitized and made us feel uncomfortable. Food wasn’t impressive, corn hash was awful, tasted like it was from a can and was burnt. Eyelash was found in the eggs, and just turned us off from eating anymore. Waitress did apologize for how unorganized everything was. Will not be going back.

Wonderful place, terrific food, family friendly atmosphere, reasonable prices. Our waitress was terrific with our two grandchildren, and when she noticed that it was Grandpas birthday she brought him a muffin with a candle! The kids were thrilled as was Grandpa.

My boyfriend had the Maryland crab cakes and eggs and really enjoyed it, I had the blueberry stuffed French toast and it was really good! The staff were friendly, it was very packed (as all places are on Sunday morning), so we got to sit at the counter. Definitely will be coming back.

I placed an order and was asked if Id like to leave a tip on the card, I replied no thanks. I didnt tell them I was tipping cash I was brought up to tip in cash. Well I witnessed them be very kind with two other curbside pick ups. They basically said hello and just gave me my food and walked away really fast with out me having time to give her a tip. I was caught off guard because the food came so fast and wasnt prepared. So that was very rude and insulting because I didnt leave a tip on the phone when asked? So I dont deserve friendly curbside pickup? It wont happen again because I wont order there again. Be grateful I was giving you business in times like this.

I wanted to like this place. The wait wasnt terrible for how busy it was. The menu has a lot of good options and the restaurant itself is clean (except for the bathrooms). For a table of five the wait was a little long but not terrible. When the food came out it was good. Unfortunately, two out of the three plates with eggs had large (greater than an inch across) peices of egg shells in them, which ruined what were otherwise great plates. Our waiter was pretty absent most of the time we were there. But when we grabbed her and brought it to her attention she took the two plates off of the menu and offered to have the kitchen make us new dishes, which we declined. I would have written it off as an accident but to have that amount of shell in two separate egg dishes (one poached and one over hard) is really not a good look. My wife and I might give it another chance, because it has the makings of a good spot. But I wouldnt bring company there again.

Great modern location with a nice view of the common. Awesome food! The breakfast food is delicious, char-cooked burgers are out of this world (fries are great as well), and they have one of my personal favorites, the open faced turkey sandwich. I also like that theyve got a to-go option to pick up your food. Only downside is that you have to park on the street, which can get crowded on the weekends, but there is also room to park at the town hall on weekends. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend to all

Very slow service and overpriced menu will leave you wondering what the ownership is doing.Sitting for ten minutes waiting to have our order taken, we looked at the half empty restaurant boggling at what we saw: servers rarely checking on tables, never coming around to refresh coffees, and only occasionally coming out with food from the kitchen. Most of the time we saw them, they were cleaning tables.I get that theres a lot of competition in Mansfield, and small businesses need to have to walk a tightrope to balance the books, so I encourage people to support it. Just plan to be there an hour and a half. Bring a book for the kids to read, and ask for the check as soon as the food comes.

Cafe on the common is like a normal diner except a step up. Staff are amazing, food is always on point and location is perfect. Price also cant be beat. Best diner in a 20 mile radius

The breakfast stop before every Patriots game. The farmers skillet is a personal favorite. Unbelievably great food and good prices. Easy location to get to and plenty of street parking, even when it is hopping. Worth the visit, 5/5.

Food is as good as everyone says. Would have been 5 stars but eggs came cooked different than ordered. Still delicious. Update: Returned 2 months later. Great, quick service. Everything was perfectly prepared. Going to be a regular there for sure!

Food was fine. Service was slow. The men’s room was one of the dirtiest bathrooms I have ever been in. I would imagine that many over the road truckers would avoid using their facilities. If your bathroom, where you allow the public to go is that dirty I imagine the kitchen is probably not that clean as well. One visit was enough for me.

Incredibly disappointing. This place was busy, which is usually expected on a holiday monday morning. No excuse for a breakfast joint, they should be used to this. First off, the coffee is horrible, extremely watered down. Even waited for a fresh pot to come around, same thing with refill. We ordered a meat lovers omelette & the New England breakfast with French toast. The french toast was uncooked and soggy, didnt eat more than one bite. My eggs were so slimy I swear they cooked them in water. The homefries were salty and undercooked. Low quality sausage. We waited almost 30 minutes for our food, which would have been fine if the quality was good. Im pretty sure the meats were prepared ahead of time and just pulled out of a bowl. Microwave bacon is better. The best thing I ate was the baked beans & I guarantee they came out of a can. Thank god because Im not sure I would have eaten them otherwise.

Food was good, service not so much. I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs. The description on the menu said Two eggs served over our hash To me our hash implies homemade hash, but this was clearly the canned stuff. Waited 10+ minutes for a coffee refill. The best part of my experience was the eggs, over easy and cooked to perfection.

I got the banana split waffle and it was devine. It was difficult to choose between that and the sweet and sour pancakes (blueberries and cranberries). The oatmeal choices look great. My boyfriend had the eggs benny and he enjoyed them immensely.

This was my first visit to this cafe, and I was very impressed. Although a long line of people on a Sunday morning, the staff was moving so efficiently, that our wait ended up being shorter than expected. The menu was extensive, and the prices were great! I opted for a combo plate with one egg, one french toast, 1 bacon, 1 sausage, and home fries. The food arrived quickly, and everything was cooked to perfection. The french toast melted in your mouth, and the home fries were crispy and seasoned to perfection. The only complaint we had was the corned beef hash someone else in my party ordered was just canned instead of homemade, and was a bit too salty. Overall, highly satisfied, and we will definitely be back!

Delicious breakfast all day long, unfortunately the service leaves something to be desired. Ive done take out here no less than 30 times, and not once have I ever been waited on within the 1st 10 minutes of entering the building. The waitresses studiously ignore everyone at the front counter and it gets tiring having to chase someone down every single time

One of the better breakfast places around, but the wait on the weekends is outrageous. Unless you hit the special 30 minute window on a Sunday or Saturday morning, expect to wait and hour to be seated.

Great food and super nice location right next to the park common. Short walk to downtown. We tried the banana nut French toast and scrambled eggs in potato skins and both were delicious. Service was fast and friendly.

This place is indeed special! The food has always been fantastic and the portions are more than generous...the staff is awesome as well. For starters- I’m vegan, and I had a wonderful breakfast of homefried potatoes and oatmeal with brown sugar. The others I ate with had the farmers skillet and pancakes. Farmers skillet comes with tons of food and pancakes were on the thinner side but were delicious from what I heard. Service was very good just like the food.

Super place for breakfast!!Located just on South Main street across from the south Common, this quaint little cafe is probably best known for its breakfast menu! Cafe is clean and the waitstaff is very friendly ready to serve you that cup of coffee.Portions are generous and the food comes quickly hot and absolutely delicious.I will go here when I want pancakes, they have awesome blueberry pancakes and their chocolate chip pancakes are fantastic!Eggs galore, omelets, fried, scrambled, Benedict, served with homemade home fries, meats of bacon, or sausage, toast ....ohh my mouth is watering while I write this, I think a trip to Cafe on Commons will be on my morning schedule tomorrow!!
