Knowledgeable, honest, and fair. I was told by a reputable large dealer that my transfer case needed to be replaced. I brought it to PF to rebuild it. They checked it out and said it is still pretty good and not ready yet for a rebuild. Hard to find a straightforward honest shop these days. I totally trust these days and highly recommend...
Dropped off parts and picked up some of my own parts excellent help real knowledgeable group in every area of a drivetrain
Ive delayed posting to give time reflect objectively. Last summer I had Midwest Transmission -Zumbrota - (sister company to Proven Force) rebuild and install a different 5th gear in a donor 5 speed Tremec TR3650 transmission. I was assured the transmission would work like new and Proven Force were able to handle the removal and installation. As long as the car was at Proven Force waiting for the transmission from Midwest, I asked them to change my rear gears from 3:27 to 3:55. Also while they had the car apart, make any recommendations as to what else may be needed, keep in mind the car had just over 20,000 miles on it. They suggested a new clutch and new axles which I thought was odd but authorized them to proceed. When I got the car back and drove it, it was apparent the transmission had not been rebuilt. Terrible grinding into 2nd gear. They agreed to take the car back and send the transmission back to Zumbrota. When I got it back for the 2nd time, It shifted better but still ground in 2nd gear and now also had a terrible squeal coming from under the car. To shorten this review, I had to return the car to them 3 more times to fix wrong axles, 2nd transmission rebuild (still doesnt shift without grinding). On two separate occasions Scott (owner) offered to test drive the car as their Maple Grove technicians couldnt hear the squealing still coming from under the car. Both times he didnt show up. Ultimately I had to diagnose myself where the sound came from. In this whole process they also damaged the front bumper when putting on the hoist. Last summer my Mustang sat at Proven Force for 1/3 of the summer. Ive been told by another local reputable shop that at ($7000) I was overcharged for the services done but dismissed as I originally believed since they were more expensive I would receive exemplary service. Reflecting back, Im still very disappointed and compelled to share my story. If I had it to do over again, I would run not walk away from both companies. This fall Im starting over again with another transmission rebuild at another company.
Proven Force is amazing. I called on Wednesday to get availability and pricing for a 4l60e transmission for my 1996 GMC k1500. Wyatt answered all my questions. Unfortunately I forgot to call them back to let them know I was going to come pick it up. We got there about half hour before they closed and they threw it together for me and got my truck back on the road for the first time in a month. Thank you Wyatt and whoever else I inconvenienced by not calling before I came and got my transmission.
Wheel bearing went out on my truck and they fixed while I waited. Awesome job!
Went here a while back to get a band put on my drive axle boot since I replaced it and repacked it with grease. Was told they did not work on my car, only American muscle. I had to explain it was a darn band on a drive axle boot, plain and simple. I just didnt have the tool at the time. Guy finally agrees that yes its doable. Was charged $25, couldve bought a new axle by that time. Never again.....
I cannot tell you how fabulous Chuck and the guys were! Fit me into their schedule within 24 hours! Honest and so very professional! I feel like I got the better end of the deal. Thank you for making my car drive like new again! And for the AMAZING service!
Good service. Needed a differential yoke they were easily able to find the part and had it in stock along with the seal.
Awesome services, very happy with the work they did to my drive shaft.
Great people to work with. Very knowledgeable in their business.
Brought my dads 07 CCLB duramax to them for a drive line vibration.took it out on two different test drives with their mechanics. Both agreed that it felt like the drive shaft was out of balance. we just had it balanced from another shop. I asked to drive it after they fixed it to see if the vibration went away. chuck the manager got visibly mad and demanded I pay for it before it moves. I got on the road and the same issue issue was there. I brought it to them for a vibration issue and left with the same one. wouldnt have been so upset if the manager wouldnt have been so rude.
Called chuck and got a quote, towed my truck to their shop monday after they had already closed, guys had it done by 1pm the following day. Would definitely recommend. Good price, quality work.
Chuck and the staff are professionals!! Extremely knowledgeable and on point. I had an issue with my 1964 Chevy Impala,( Carrier bearing/driveshaft/joints ) .I’m extremely happy how the with they double check their work and are willing to trouble shoot for a customer!!I give them a 5star rating because they earned it!!Thanks Proven Force, you’re name says it all!!
The staff is always nice and extremely knowledgeable. Their recommendations have lead to me getting the correct parts along with fast and timely service on repairs
Very happy with the service they provided, less than 8 hours turn around on my driveshafts. Pleasant staff and honest help
Top Notch service. We drove our 62 Impala from Texas for Back to the 50s. Our center carrier bearing failed after we got to town and Chuck and the Gang got us in right away, had all the parts in stock, and even corrected some existing issues that were unknown to us. Fair prices and you can tell the staff are all car nuts. Thanks Folks.
I want to take a minute to share my experience with Lance and the rest of the crew at Proven Force with others that may be considering using them. Lance is simply a class-act, and deserves to be recognized for a job more than well done.I couldn’t be more impressed with this business, their work, and customer service. I needed to have the rear-end of my F150 rebuilt, did my research, and found that this was “the” place to go. I even drove from the East Metro to visit them (and would do so in the future, without hesitation, if ever needed work done again)I showed up at their shop without even calling beforehand to discuss the noise coming from the rear differential of my truck. Within minutes, Lance had a technician riding with me to diagnose and confirm what I thought was going on in the differential. Chris was the technician riding along with me; he was knowledgeable, kind, and professional.I left my truck with them overnight, and it was ready first thing the next morning. To be fair, had I shown up at the opening of business that day instead of around lunch I wouldn’t have been surprised if they had it done before the end of the day. (That being said, it’s a big job to do) I was impressed with their workmanship and turnaround without even having an appointment beforehand. I wasn’t expecting it to be done that fast!I’m very mechanically inclined and do most all work to my vehicles, but chose to have a shop do this work for me for several reasons. I was extremely impressed with their pricing and business integrity; they were more than competitive, stand by their workmanship and parts, and came in under what I would have expected to have been charged for all the work needing to be done.My wife is very anxious when dealing with mechanics and not knowing if she is being taken advantage of if going alone; Proven Force is a business I would feel extremely comfortable having her go by herself and be treated the exact same way I was. I just can’t say enough kind things about this place.I give my highest recommendation to Proven Force, and wish you all the best!-Mike G
Excellent good job on driveshaft
Just had a drive shaft done for my 05 excursion. the guys were great to work with, they got it done quick and reasonable. only thing bad is they use metro auto pool for their pick up and delivery and they are notorious for being late, or even not showing up at all. But i did get my drive shaft back eventually and my truck is butter smooth again
1st off I would give Proven force a lower than 1 star rating if that was an option.I had been going to proven force for many years, starting way back when they were located in Little Canada. Had many drive shafts made, ring and pinions setup and manual transmissions rebuilt on race and street cars/trucks. Back then everything was fine, for the most part. Rick was up front at the counter and Rick was really great to work with. Once Rick left the customer service took a turn for the worst and shortly after that so did the repairs from in the shop.I Brought my truck in for some manual transmission repair and had nothing but issues time and time again. They do not test drive the vehicles when they complete a service. A lot of their issues could be solved if they just did a simple test drive and then pulled the vehicle back in when something isnt right.Picked up trucks from them on 5-6 different occasions and my back up lights wouldnt come on, the input shaft seal leaked all over there parking lot, the shifter boot was not attached to the floor plate, the transmission would pop out of 3rd gear, the fuel line got pinched between the bell housing and the engine block and the reason I brought the truck in which was for 5th gear going out was always an issue. 5th gear would last between a few days and a few weeks. All of these issues went on and on with proven force, never an apology always just a ton of excuses from the service upfront.I lost a lot of work and money dealing with a lot of run around from proven force. Its too bad the service in the shop and the customer service is now at an all time low.
Brought my 1967 Nova in to have the clutch and rear differential checked. I worked with Chuck throughout this process and he was phenomenal !!Chuck kept me updated throughout the repair process and bent over backwards to make sure that the car was inside as much as possible. This is not your run of the mill look up the parts and put them in car, so having spent over 40 years in the automotive business, i know there was considerable time spent in parts research and location. The technician who performed the repairs did an EXCELLENT job! The car was as clean when i picked it up as it was when I dropped it off, which is greatly appreciated. Chuck knew that i planned on entering the car in a show right after I picked it up and he met my time frame and actually came in under estimate. This was an excellent experience and if i could give them more stars, I would !!
I asked them to remove a bearing from a shaft. They used a grinder to cut through the bearing and the shaft. Apparently, the foreman did the job himself. This is completely unacceptable.
Under no circumstances would I consider using this shop again. Brought in my car along with my own new parts (eBay) for a clutch replacement. Seemed to go well until the transmission started to stick hard with less than 400 miles on it. Had Chuck test drive it and he was surprised at the sticking issue he felt. Although it never stuck before the new clutch, his suggestion was, if it was mine I would just drive it.It continued to stick so I called back to ask about options of having them look at it for me since they did the install with a complete understanding that they would not warrenty my parts because I brought them in. But when I said that I would like them to look at it regardless to solve the issue Chuck became belligerent. I understand that if it was a part issue it is on me, but when I asked Chuck that if it was an installation issue, would the shop cover the costs of labor to correct the issue, he said,... well discuss that at the time if it happens. Which sounds an awful lot like they are reluctant to stand behind their work. Ultimately Chuck got so flustered at the suggestion that his shop might have made a mistake that he informed me he was hanging up. Poor customer service and even poorer customer relations.
These guys are top notch. Tom is my contact there and he goes the extra mile. Will always recommend this shop to everyone. Great work guys!!
Very fast and efficient. Didn’t try to sell me on unnecessary upgrades. Got my 62 impala on the road in no time.
Set me straight and balanced my drive shaft reasonably.
These guys did a great job rebuilding and upgrading the differential of my Tahoe. Service and work were both well done!
Great service. Helped me right away.
Friendly staff, knowledgable, fair prices and quick quality service. Cannot say enough about my positive experience with them.
This company doesnt stand behind their products. Their warranty is insufficient compared to their competitors and their management doesnt understand customer service. Ive worked at shops most of my life and this company is one of the worst to deal with. I recommend Libson if you need these services.
Amazing work!!!! Took my 2010 yukon xl for differential work and transfercase. Outstanding job. I wouldnt take my truck anywhere else but PROVEN FORCE! Thank you chuck and the team. Reliable, honest, quality!
Knowledgable, experienced, professional and fast. A step above the rest. No smugness here. Just down-home, whats the problem, how can I serve you? Two year warrantied service, and they DELIVER in all aspects.I brought in my 2003 Chevy S10 Extended Cab driveshaft to have them work on it, or at least I thought I did. The guy at the counter says, Wheres the other part of the driveshaft? I said, There is no other part. He said, Yes, there is. I said, No, theres not. He said, Yes, there is. I said (with confidence), No, theres NOT. He looked down at the driveshaft, looked up at me and said, Listen. This is a driveshaft from a Chevy S10 Pickup, isnt it? I chuckled inside, and said, Uhmmm, well, yeahhh.Needless to say, I went and got the rest of the driveshaft, they fixed it and had it ready the next day.
Was recommended to bring my 2000 camaro to proven force after having a less reputible shop botch a carrier pinion replacement. After consulting with Chuck for a few minutes I felt confident that my car would be in good hands and was impressed with how knowedgable he was concerning every moving part in a differential. These guys are top notch, Im very happy with the job Jay and their other mechanics did on my vehicle and the customer service they provided me!!!
Great customer service and very knowledgeable about what they do
These guys are the go to place for clutches, driveshafts, and CV axles. Reasonable prices and they can make custom parts. I have had them make several driveshafts for me, and most recently I had them make a custom clutch disc for a hot rod project I am building.
What crooks! Emailed prior to my arrival asking the price for a drive shaft shortening and balance, and James emailed me back with aabout $70. I drive over an hour to get there today, and the sales person says $350. What kind of bait and switch are they pulling? Do not waste your time, and go to a real shop.
Lets start with Im from out of town. I called in to price a np261hd transfer case for my 06 chevy 2500hd truck at the advice from a local Chevrolet dealer. They had great prices and customer service. I ended up just having them install instead of doing myself. They maintained constant contact with me over the duration of the repair. They called to let me know other issues were found and had competitive prices on the issues they found. I would definitely recommend to people even though Im not from around here. Thanks much for being a company that does what they say and says what they do.
We have used them a lot over the years . no its not cheep and smart people should know this you get what you pay for buy one time instead of many get the good product that they sell .larryservice managerSundbergs auto
AWESOME place. Thank you.
Scam artists: $50 back on $300 core charge. Here’s how the Core Charge works:•The part you are purchasing contains a component that is recyclable•The Core Charge deposit is charged at the time of purchase•When the recyclable component from your old part is returned to us, the charge is refunded to yoube prepared to ripped off.
If you need transmission work, or a custom, go to Paul. Best in the business.
Great service James gave me a good deal on a transmission
Good prices and great customer service!! I would recommend to anyone looking for genuine Dana/Spicer parts at competitive prices!!
Absolutely stellar service!Took the driveshaft in my Monte Carlo SS to a different shop (ADL in Centerville) for inspection and balance. Over two weeks later and 3 trips I still had a vibration!I called Proven Force at 9am on a Tuesday, dropped off the driveshaft at 10am, picked it up at Noon! New yoke, new u joints, balance & straitened, and painted in 2 hours!Put it in the car and its perfect! No vibration, smooth as glass, and less money than ADL ( who wont return my money )Proven Force is well staffed and well equipped - Id give them 6 stars if I could!
People here are really nice and all about the customer.
They dont work on cars
Good people
Want power train fixed right, this is the place.
