Like many others who have posted, this place is crazy. They do not take great items but their store is full of junky clothes. This is the 2nd time they took 2 or no items of mine. I take most of any really old things to Goodwill so each time I brought 5 great items. One was a pair of designer jeans. Turned down. I brought 2 great sweaters & when I asked why they were turned down, it was for wear. One had never been worn out of my house. Wore it once in the house. Meantime, things on the rack are old white tank tops with Fashion Island or something written on it. Obviously gotten from a tourist place. So the end. I will go to Turnstyle and do consignment.

The Maple Grove Clothes Mentor always has consistency in quality, unique and wide assortment of resale clothing, shoes and bags. Staff is attentive in helping you with good experience of both shopping and selling to them. The location is fairly large and kept really clean. I bought White House Black Market clothes and a Kate Spade crossover online and easily picked up next day in store. I’d recommend to check out to support a local business!

This store is crazy, I brought so much good clothing, from express dresses, guess boots, I swear so much better things then they sell, they took one purse. Out of style, .... they don’t know what’s style. What they sell if they don’t take brands like express, Carleton Russ, etc. would not shop there, or bring my close there anymore waste of my time.

Not a good place to sell your clothing. I had nice quality clothes and they only bought a few items of mine. I had very nice sweaters, that looked better than the stuff on their rack. I would never shop there because the clothes are very worn down.

I have the same few thrift stores that I frequent; Clothes Mentor in Maple Grove has now been added to my list. I have been here a few times now and I love this location. Good quality items in stock, the pricing is awesome, and the staff if wonderful. Amy and Cathy are extremely personable and so helpful!The one negative thing I would have to say is that being 5 foot the tops are hard to look through because they are displayed so high. But lets be honest this is a issue every where I shop 😂

While I could go on & on about the endless, organized, and colorized aisles of insane deals...I’m going to do this a little backwards. Since I work there I am going to simply state...this is the best team I have ever worked with. Kind, hardworking, strong women surrounding our customers with great advice, a good giggle and killer wine recommendations. Speaking of our customers, they are just the greatest! Making a family owned business feel like home is a two way street, and we have paved an awesome path together! So thank you to our amazing customers & team for all you do!

So, I havent had much luck selling clothing to this place, even when I bring a bunch of stuff that was bought recently and very gently used. For buying, they are very selective, which means they generally have good stuff, but in some sections (like maternity/nursing) there are very few options to choose from.Edit:I hear you Clothes Mentor (C.M.), but I wasnt talking about bras or undergarments, I meant maternity dresses, pants and tops, and nursing tops and nursing dresses. I have had little success selling these sort of items and also there arent many or sometimes any to choose from when buying at C.M.Ive had very friendly customer service here, Im not trying to be critical, but my comments will hopefully be helpful to shoppers.

Everyone is super friendly. If you need help finding some things theyre always willing to help, and they pick things that are super cute. Designer purses are in abundance here. Many different makes and colors. I always find great merchandise here.

Good selection. Good deals. Plenty of designer names. Most items are of good quality, but we noticed some purses were accepted even though they reeked of smoke.Common brands are Ann Taylor, LOFT, and Banana Republic.They regularly offer additional discounts, especially for holidays.

I enjoy the cleanliness and overall appearance of this place. The last time I was there however, some of the associates were very noisy and loudly discussing personal matters, so I didnt stay as long as I would have otherwise. I do like the selection of clothing and hope to go back... maybe on a day when theres not as many associates and the chatter is quieter.

Excellent customer service, quality selection of nice clothing, fair prices. I got a pair of designer jeans for 14 dollars! Theres nothing to hate unless you despise good deals on quality stuff or are too lazy to dig through the racks... but even then, the store is well organized so it is fairly easy to find what youre looking for. Will definitely come in again to sell and buy my clothes.

Despite how big the store is, the selection is not great. I also brought in a lot of gently used items and they took very little of it. I have been to other CM stores where I loaded up on stuff to buy but I didn’t feel that urge here.

I have had several wonderful experiences there. I am currently on the plus size and they even have a wonderful selection for us. Thank you for that. I have sold clothing items and many purses and they are quick and fair in regards to that. The staff is mostly helpful. Some are really nice and friendly few of the younger girls need some customer service training. Here is a couple of pointers. Dont act like I am bothering you if I have a question. I know your friend has stopped by to talk about that cute boy but seriously, customer needs really do come first. I know you are tired or sad but suk it up and put on a happy face. Lastly, thank us for patronage and maybe say good bye??? You want our business again, correct? (

A good selection of products and fairly well organized. Friendly, patient staff members who, during my short visit, suggested two other stores for other customers to visit who couldn’t find what they needed in store. I thought that was amazing service and was incredibly impressed. I’ll definitely be visiting again!!

I absolutely love shopping here! Great deals, great clothes (not stained and some still with the tags attached!) and the staff goes out of their way to be helpful in offering advice or pointing you in the direction of what you are looking for. This is the first place I come to shop because I love designer clothes but cant afford the brand new prices so this past weekend I got 4 DESIGNER dresses for $40!! They also have a reward system where you can earn points and get I believe 20% off your purchase after youve earned the points and a birthday discount coupon ! I buy all my coach purses here because they are clean as new and priced reasonably and I always get compliments! Thank you Clothes Mentor Maple Grove!!!!

This is my first stop when I wan to refresh my wardrobe! I always always shop recycled before retail! This store has an Awesome Sauce staff! They treat me like Norm on Cheers when I walk it! Its always a delight to enhance my wardrobe and see old friends and this shop!

Best clothes mentor ever!!! I usually go to the St. Cloud one but never again. This location is filled with designer clothes, jeweler, shoes and purses! For a great price! I scored a brand new pair of VSX leggings for $11! And when I say brand new they were maybe worn once. They go for around $65. So yeah, they give amazing deals. Staff was very nice. Cant wait to come here again! Way better than style encore!

I love the variety Clothes Mentor has. I always visit this store before a vacation to gather the clothes I need. Only one recommendation would be to have a public restroom. I have to leave the store without buying a thing because I have to use the restroom. They would probably be able to sell more if they allowed public access.

Best Clothes Mentor I have been to by far and the staff is always great! The store is clean and easy to find things in. The selection is huge and I always find something cute whenever I go in! Definitely the first place I go to when I need new business casual clothes for work.

I bought 10 items and they took one. I bought 2 shirts from them 8 days ago and they didnt want to return it because it passed one day after return policy. I asked them why did you take these she said its to old. Lol I told her that I buy it in her sore 8 days ago, than she start giving me excuses. Staff is very rude, and its not worth going there.

Go elsewhere to sell clothing! I went in around 6:30pm and was turned down because I didnt have a drivers license, rather I had a US passport and current proof of my address with my name and they still didnt accept my clothes after driving 30 minutes. I felt as though they didnt want to spend the time looking through them an hour and a half prior to closing either. Staff needs to be better informed and trained.

I have shopped a few different Clothes mentor stores, but this location is my favorite. I only am able to stop a few times a year when visiting family, but it is a must stop. Great variety, great staff.

Brought in a ton of gently used womens dress clothes. Some of them were brand new, never worn and even had the tags on them. I was told they couldnt purchase them because they are over two years old. The clothes arent even a year old. Dont waste your time.

Love this one! I always have handfuls of clothes to try on and always leave with a handful. Also very impressed with their maternity section.

For a second hand shop it very pricey. If your going to resale purses clean them up be for you sale them. It was clutter need to be organized. The employees was rude and standoffish. Not friendly at all

I like this place a lot....i never liked 2nd hand stores but this store is like buying new clothes at a great low price. Some clothed still have tags on them and they all are very gently used items.

I had shopped at this location before but I guess they have some new workers there. The last 2 times, I went in workers decided they wanted to follow me all over the store. The final straw was when I went in on Black Friday and I was followed. I purchased my items and went out the door and the worker told me she needed my bags to check. I let her check my bags and then she looked puzzled when I said to go right ahead. Not once have I ever shop lifted from any place and I got disrespected in such a manner. Do not racially profile people. They did not know I worked in Law Enforcement and could have shown them my badge and business card. I will now go to another location.In response to the owners comments, I did not hear an alarm go off. If it did, I would have turned around and said something. Also, the lady at the register took off the tags of the things that I had sensors on because I watched her. I was also asked if they could check the jewelry that I purchased and that didnt even have sensors. Folks just wanted to check my bags. As far as following people around in the store, I guess I am the only one that gets the customer service. Sorry but thatdoesnt work for me. I wish your business well but it will not get my money again.

If you cannot have a thorough explanation of why certain name brand items like Michael kors, cole haan and Anne Klein won’t sell well; asides from saying its too formal and my heels are too high.. you just don’t want to give a person what its worth... All those basic clothes that are entirely formal..You should do a better job specifying what too high is... and that name brand isn’t accepted on your website..

I LOVE this store. I walked in to sell some items and now I work there. My sister visited me from Chicago and was anxious to see the store. She couldnt wait to see what I was bragging about. She couldnt believe that there were so many nice pre owned clothes so she had to see the store for herself and fell in love like I did. I also got my cousins hooked and they shop at the Maple Grove and Coon Rapids location. Great owners, co workers and guests!

It is a very good place to shop

I went on a Saturday and it was my first time there. I brought in some shoes such as heels and boots. When you get there with your item, they check you in and then you have to wait for them to check your items. They will notify you with a text if you prefer that, which I did. I walked around the store to wait. It only took 15min for me to wait before they texted me that my drop-off is ready. I probably took in 15 pairs of shoes and the store only bought 5 of my shoes for $14. They bought my shoes with brand such as Chinese Laundry, Wild Diva, & Charlotte Russe..They did mention that they dont take items older than 2 years old which I dont know how they determine that because they didnt even ask my how old my shoes were and the shoes I brought in were probably a year old or less. I feel like the ladies behind the counter are a little older so theyre not up to date with the current fashion because the shoes I brought in were for younger women whod probably be interested in them. Overall not bad of an experience for first time there.

For starters I spent a lot of money at this store the purse I purchased started falling apart after 2 weeks. 7 days to return something sorry that’s ridiculous most places it’s 30 days to return something. The associate returned 3 things for me because it was 9 days instead of 7 and they wanted to give me $11.00 for clothes they charged so much money for me to buy it talk about a slap in the face. Not to mention I brought cute nice new clothes in their with tags on them they tell me they don’t take certain brands really? Well they sure take a lot of ugly things. I will never shop here again. I can go to Kohls or penny’s buy cute clothes and can return them within 30 days!

I live in St. Louis MO. We have only one Clothes Mentor store. However, I was born and raised in Minneapolis and visit Minnesota several times a year. When I visit, the first Clothes Mentor store I go to is the one in Maple Grove and often it is the only one because I find just what I need!
