I have purchased a washer, dryer, microwave and dishwasher from Star Appliance. I used to be happy with the sale of these items. Their service department is not worth it and their warranty service is not recommended. My dishwasher started leaking and called Star Appliance for service. They were backed up and took a week for them to come out and take a look. They came out and looked at the dishwasher and said they needed to order a part which would take a week to come in. Part came and took another week to schedule the repair. Repairman comes in replaces the part but that did not complete fix all the leaks. He said he would order the parts and it would take another week to come in. I waited 2 weeks before calling back and they had no parts on order and said they would try to call and talk with the repairman. I waited 2 days and no response back. Called again and they said oh the part would cost 265 dollars and would I like to order the parts and pay for them. I said we were under warranty and they said well since the parts cost over $200, I would have to call and negotiate with the warranty company myself for the repair. As of now I am now over a month out with no working dishwasher.

Very pleased with Star Appliance! I went in to buy an over the range microwave, and found prices so good that I ended up going back the next day and bought a new range as well. Pat delivered the range to my house that evening and set it up in minutes. I had opted to install the microwave myself - Pat noticed I was still working on it, and on the spot he gave me some much needed help. He took time out of his own day to deliver after hours, and helped me with my microwave no questions asked. I didn’t think customer service like that existed any more. Thank you so much!!

We went in to look at refrigerators in the scratch and dent area. We were greeted by a helpful sales associate who answered all our questions honestly and with expertise. We decided to purchase from them because the service what they sell and are local. Delivery was on time and the two young men that installed were super friendly and did a great job, taking care to be respectful to our home and moved the old appliance out for us. I would highly recommend them for all needs and will definitely go back when I need new items for my home.

Went to the big box stores and nothing compares to the small town quality of Star Appliance. Cant beat their price and their selections. In less one hour we were in and out with dishwasher of my dreams.

Not impressed with the friendliness of the staff. Staff act as if they are bothered by your calls or questions. I ordered all my appliances from here for a remodel. I am still waiting on the dishwasher after 4 months. They tell me they will follow-up but dont. I wont spend another dollar with them.

During COVID - looked at appliances, because our Range quit. After searching and narrowing down what we wanted, e-mailed Star Appliance, they responded within an hour. Chatted back and forth and determined exact appliances we would purchase. Within 4 hours of the first e-mail, I had placed my order and within 5 days our new appliances (Range and microwave) arrived and were professionally installed. Perfect! We grew tired of big box stores and decided to try a local appliance store when we needed a new refrigerator and I am very glad we did. We couldn’t be happier with Star Appliance. The salesman was helpful and friendly. The delivery people were exceptional. And we got a great refrigerator at a decent price.

I was looking for a new washer and dryer. Internet search was getting me no where so I asked around. Everyone recommended GE appliances and a friend recommended Star Appliance. They were great to work with and didn’t try to sell me more than what I needed. Purchase and Installation were quick and efficient. I will definitely shop with them again.

Star Appliance is a wonderful store! The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They have a great selection of new and scratch and dent appliances. Prices are competitive. They also can repair appliances. I had them fix the washer once, they were on time and it was very fast and efficient.

The person who called me back to schedule my appointment was friendly and I made an appointment to fix my dryer for 9:00am on a Tuesday. I left work to be home at 9:00. At 9:15, I called because no one had arrived. A very unfriendly, rude woman answered and told me it would be between 9 and 11, but I was the first person on the schedule, so he should be there are any time. At 11:25, I received a call that the guy was finally at my place to look at the dryer. He had a constant bloody nose and left blood on my dryer (gross!). The problem was not completely fixed.I purchased a refrigerator from Star Appliance in the past, but I will never call them for service again, and after this experience, I will not purchase an appliance from them either.

Stopped by during a power outage. Went to the back with flashlights, picked out a dryer, next day delivery set up and haul the old one away. Plus 90 day warranty on used unit.... pretty easy ......zero hassle..highly recommend Star.

Excellent service and delivery. This store had the most reasonable price in the area and was the only place that was able to deliver our freezer on the same day it was purchased. Our current freezer was full when it stopped running and this store was very customer oriented to deliver it in such a short notice. I would highly recommend this place to others.

I was in need of a cheap dryer. Having kids we go through a lot of laundry. Thankfully I found Star Appliance. We went in and found a used dryer for $150. Paid a little over $200 for them to deliver, set up and take our old dryer. They offer 90 warranty which is nice. So far so good!

Looking at new stoves

Sales staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful without doing any pressuring. The appliances are very reasonably priced. They are very easy to do business with. We have been pleased not only with sales/delivery/installation, but we also been pleased with service. Weve just purchased our third appliance from Star. They have also serviced appliances which were in our home when we bought it. We will definitely continue to be a customer of Star. They do business the way it should be done!

Bought our dishwasher at Star Appliance and it is the best service department around. Had a wheel break on our bottom rack and took the wheel in for replacement. Owner walked out with not only a new wheel but a new rack and said no charge. That is incredible service!! Would recommend Star for anyone buying an appliance.

I furnished my kitchen at my old house from Star Appliance. Love local business and local service. Their service techs are top notch. Their sales crew is always friendly and helpful and honestly their prices cant be beat! Love this place so much I convinced my husband to check them out when we needed a new frig. He was a solid big box shopper but he was converted to Star after visiting the store and talking with staff. Now that we are in a new home, Star was the first place we went when we needed a new dishwasher.

Top notch customer service. Just bought a dishwasher and it is my 4 appliance I have bought from them. If you have any problems they have there own service department to take care of them promptly.

This last Saturday, my mother and I came to Star Appliance in need of a new washing machine. We have had quality experiences with them before, while purchasing a refrigerator and an oven. While browsing their selection, my mother didnt have a solid idea of what she was looking for specifically. I cant say they have a huge showroom of washers and dryers, but it is large enough to have a variety of features and prices. Their prices were very reasonable, especially in comparison to another appliance center we had looked at previously.At Star, the salesman Pat Heser approached us after we spent some time looking around. He was very helpful, informative and enthusiastic. He could answer nearly all of our questions and when he didnt know one, he went searching through the manual to find out. We were curious how long the delayed start on a peculiar washer was and the manual didnt say. He went in the back and got the cord for the display washer. He then cycled through the times to get us the information we asked for. It wasnt necessary and what I call the extra mile. Checkout went good without issue.Our washer was scheduled for delivery the following Friday. It was supposed to come between 3-5pm. The delivery men arrived before 3 and were very friendly. Everything was installed without issue and our old washer was taken away.In short, I very much so recommend Star Appliance. They have good prices, great service, and nice people.

We have had several interactions with Dean in the supply department of Star Appliance. He is not very nice to customers on the phone, especially if they are women. He is very condescending and seems to take pleasure in making the customer feel stupid when they ask questions about products and services offered by the company. Any time one of us has called requesting service on one of our machines or requesting pricing for products, Dean has gone out of his way to be judgmental and uncooperative. Because of this, we will not be using their services. Ever again.

Had a great experience with Star Appliance. They taught us about the appliances, installed them, moved the old ones to the garage and have great customer service. Their people are fun and even entertaining for the youngsters while shopping!!!

Very bad customer service from the repair man. I bought a scratch and dent washer and almost immediately starting having problems with it so I called to have the repair guy out to look at it and he stated it was a broken leg and would be back to fix it. After replacing the leg, I was still having spinning issues...washer shakes itself off the wall during spin cycle. So I called them again, this time repair man was VERY rude and made it evident he didnt want to mess with the washer and I should call GE cause it was their problem... real nice considering they are a GE retailer and are the ones I bought it from. Anyways GE sent a repair guy from Iowa Appliance who was very helpful and friendly and he spent over an hour fixing the washer. So I would have to say even though I didnt buy my washer from Iowa Appliance I would recommend them anyday over Star Appliance, I had far better customer service from Iowa Appliance I didnt even buy my washer from.

We have bought both a washing machine and bed from there now, and will be buying most of our appliances from there now. The sales team there has been amazing and extremely helpful.

We try to buy local and support local business. But really people....Just go to Lowes or Sears, I wish we had! Our washer went out after just four years after we bought it here. Theses people are so unprofessional, the worst customer service I have seen in my life. They dont even want to repair things they sell, theyll just tell you its cheaper to buy a new one because they charge so much for labor.They will also tell you GE does not make things like they used to anymore, way to sell your products guys! Not sure why they even have a service department?

I have purchased two washer and dryer sets from Star Appliance over the years. I couldnt be more satisfied. Their prices are competitive; they are small enough that you can talk to the owner and service techs and, most important, when something went wrong there were no hassles or delays with the repair. On one occasion, I had a problem that was out of warranty and wanted to try to fix the washer myself. They gave me great advice on how to do that. From the receptionist, to sales, to the service people – I’ve always been treated well. The next time I’m in need of appliances, they’ll get the first shot at my business.

Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, even if it’s a big box store. GE is great, however I am flabbergasted by the overwhelmingly poor experience provided by Pat Heser (Owner) and Shianna McKinney (Assistant Manager).Half of our six new appliances sustained damage during the initial delivery/install. The order consisted of a dishwasher, range, range hood, refrigerator, washer, and dryer, with a grand total of approximately $4,500.The fridge was scratched on both sides. Range drawer was scratched in the driveway when the installer carelessly scraped it across the concrete. Hood had a substantial dent across ~25% of the right side face.The assistant manager, Shianna, was quite unprofessional in our email correspondence. It’s not my concern what her career plan is, but I would highly suggest formal customer service and/or management training. Poorly written email correspondence, with no business like form. Attempted to play word games to downplay the damage by saying “After reviewing the damage on the refrigerator it appears the paint is rubbed off and not scratched.”. Even advising “You would be able to transfer your food right away.”, which to me and the FDA is unacceptable for food safety.Was offered a replacement fridge or $100 in damage compensation (7.3% of $1,369), with no willingness to negotiate and told “The $100 was approved by the GE ASM and not us”. Only offered offered replacement or refund for the hood and range.I opted to receive three replacement units, which were delivered by Pat. He was kind enough to accomodate an after hours delivery so I would not miss a second work day.During the second delivery, I immediately noticed the range and fridge lacked their shipping boxes. The hood was boxed and appeared new. Questioning Pat, he assured they were unboxed just prior to delivery because he wanted to inspect for damage ahead of time. The range appeared clean, with all tape, protective film, and packaging material in place, just no cardboard. The refrigerator however did not appear to be freshly unboxed, lacking all packing material and protective film. I inspected the fridge again in a sunlit driveway, finding a scratched outside door handle, two heavily scratched interior drawers, missing drawer divider, and a thick layer of dust on the top. Questioning the condition again, Pat stated it was a new unit. I pointed out all the concerns, stated I don’t believe this is a new and freshly unboxed unit, and requested he look me in the eye and tell me this is a new unit. He then admitted it was a floor display unit.Attempting to pass a display unit as brand new and freshly unboxed is deceitful, a lie, and frankly I feel like he attempted this to ‘stick it to me’. In my sales, customer service, and management positions, I have never lied to a customer or attempted to provide products that were less than advertised.Additionally, Pat’s true personality came out during delivery. Making two concerning comments. First while discussing how the original hood could have been damaged, he remarked something to the affect of “It would be nice if the Mexicans would take more care in their work”, referring to the GE manufacturing employees. Considering my wife is largely Hispanic, she was quite offended. Secondly, during our discussion in the driveway over damage compensation, he stated “I’m not able to choose who comes through our door”, which was in the context of not choosing to do business with me. Pat did eventually apologize for the attempted deceit from bringing a display unit, but also explained he’s done it before without problem and that it’s common in the industry. Perhaps, but that doesn’t make it right.In the end I was declined any compensation for our time and hassle, and was told “We understand your time is valuable and so is ours”. We received a replacement range and hood during an after hours delivery, plus damage compensation for the fridge in the amount of $250+tax, and a bottle of touch up paint.

Made inquiry to Star Appliance about service for my 21 year old refrigerator which was no longer cooling like it should. They told gave me advice to check for blockages or dirt/dust build-up incase we could prevent a service call and fix it ourselves. But alas, we decided to just purchase a new model. We were happy as the sales staffer reviewed all our wants/needs and gave us several options to choose from. He even mentioned the new SLATE color from GE, which we choose over stainless steel. (Less fingerprints) We had a new model delivered the NEXT DAY!! We are very happy with our purchase and want to recommend them to others. No pressure, no long winded speeches about service contracts etc. Just plain friendly!
