Did a very quick and easy resonator delete for my SUV. I called and was there in 10 minutes. Whole process took less than an hour. Very affordable prices. I was quoted a higher price over the phone and paid way less once all said and done.

If everyone in Memphis were as professional and conscientious to their customers as the young lady at Advance life would be better for everyone. Excellent work excellent service and a fair price. I cant think of a better reason to trade with anyone. They will always get my muffler service.

They are lucky to be getting 1 star!They replaced the Cadillac converter on my vehicle. When I got my vehicle back I noticed it was still making a weird nose, coming from the exhaust. It sounded as if I had an exhaust leak. They acted like they didn’t hear anything abnormal and assured me that I didn’t have an exhaust leak. Took it back two more times after the original time and it still isn’t right! I’m pretty sure they just use cheap aftermarket parts! What a waste of money! This place is a joke!

Called the day before I brought the vehicle in and the lady was very rude over the phone and even hung up on me after just requesting a price to replace my catalytic converters as I knew from my error message what was wrong with the vehicle. Told I would still have to pay a $45 diagnostic fee that would be deducted if they did the repair. Again, I knew what was wrong and I just wanted a price to replace my converters. She hung up on me. The shop was recommended to me by my mechanic so I decided to overlook her rudeness and take the vehicle in to them the next morning. I arrived at 8:10am (they open at 8am) and was told they could get me in in an hour. There were no other cars there waiting and 2 service people in the bays standing around. They told me they were only accepting cash as the owner had died a few months ago and the business was in probate court. I dont carry $750 cash on me nor do I do business without using my credit card. I took my vehicle to Arts Muffler on third street, paid them $750 on my credit card, and I was in and out in 45 minutes. No BS diagnostic fee, btw. Highly recommend Arts as they were courteous, reasonable, quick and responsive and did a 1st class job.

I have wanted a more aggressive sounding exhaust system for my truck so decided to drop in and see what my options were. The folks there were very nice. They test fitted two different mufflers (Flowmaster and Dynaflow) to my truck so I could hear the sounds of each. I chose the Flowmaster. It took them a while to get it installed but once they did, it sounded great.I did have one issue which is rare but does happen. Somehow either a piece of slag hit my right rear tire or the new trainee accidentally touched the welding gun tip to the inner wall of the tire. The tire went from full pressure to 13 pounds in a few minutes. The techs just mentioned the tire was low but after the tire was checked by a tire shop, it was clear what had happened. The owner of Advance Muffler didnt hesitate and immediately offered to make it right, reimbursing me the same day for the cost of the new tire. Stuff happens at times but how a company responds is what makes a difference. You can see why this shop has an A+ BBB rating and letters of testimonials on the waiting room wall.I would enthusiastically recommend this shop for your muffler needs.

Skip the custom shops! Advance Muffler will get you the exact sound and look you want for a fraction of what the custom shops charge. They let you test a variety of muffler sounds before they make the welds. You choose the exhaust tips from a ton of options. You get to choose the placement and angle of the tailpipes. After going to SEVERAL custom auto shops, I am glad someone recommended these guys. Take the day off, and get there at 8 a.m. (cuz they book up fast)......and theyll hook you up with exactly what youre looking for —for an unbelievable cost.

Not sure about this place. So I had first visited and was relieved to hear I only needed a new hanger thingy for my exhaust pipe on one side. They did a great and inexpensive $45 job for me that time. A few months later, the other side pipe was hanging low, so I went back thinking itll need the same job as before. They told me I needed $350 for the exhaust work, which I didnt do only because I ran out of time before I moved out of state. They also told me that I needed a $1,600 job for power steering, etc. (I had heard some whining noise when I turned my steering wheel). I figured Id better take care of that ASAP, but wanted to get second estimate because of the expense. I took it to Gateway and all I needed for that was injector coil thingy that only costed $350 and solved the problem. Long way from $1600!I later took my car to Midas by where I live now thinking theyd tell me the same that those guys said, but just as I initially thought, Midas said the only issue with exhaust is that same hanger as I had fixed before on the other side- Midas welded it back for $65- no further work needed. Long way from $350 that Advanced wanted. So, they do good work, but whether you actually needed that work or not is a completely different story!

Definitely overcharged me, did a good job but after researching others who have had the same job I paid almost twice as much, wouldnt give me back my original parts after I asked three times; either ignored or forgot.

They were supposed to fix my Catalic Converter for 764 but, they did not. Im still having the same problem so I look under the car, they only fixed one side. I was told they would fix both sides. The previous experience I had with them was great but the last two times I have went were aweful. One good experience out of three total is what I had here. The lady at the front desk is really nice and helpful.

I took my 2001 Jeep into Advance Muffler to diagnose and quote an exhaust leak that appeared to be coming from the junction between my manifold and pipe. I was expecting to have to replace the packing/gasket. Advance called back a short while later to explain that the bolts were loose. They re-tightened them for me and didnt charge me anything. I wouldve gladly paid for the honesty, and I will certainly be returning I should run into other problems.

Had a new muffler put on here. Originally requested the Flowmaster Super 40 and was told it was in stock. However when it came time to install, they only had the 50 and 44 in stock to test. Price seemed fair and service was excellent.

Dealt with Nick on multiple occasions. To say that I am a bit OCD with my service is an understatement. He was awesome and to be honest some of the best muffler work Ive ever had. I only had a pic of what I wanted and the guys there not only matched it spot on but when I needed it to be changed a bit Advanced didnt say anything other than Ill get that taken care of. Price was right and the service was great. I would recommend these guys to anyone and everyone. In fact, Ive already gotten a friend to go there and get his car worked on and they did a great job with his as well.

In response to review by Mr.Grandberry :as owner of Advance Muffler and Auto Service I take every complaint very serious as not only to better understand what exactly about your experience with us lead to such dissatisfaction but also how to avoid from this happening again with any of our customers. unfortunately a search of all of our customer base and and all repairs done for them (and i checked at both locations) your name nor any repair could be found under a Keith Grandberry. which with 6 visits to my company seems highly unlikely you could be kept from this data base and that quite possible makes this review inaccurate to say the least.

After visiting 4 other muffler shops and receiving quotes for $50-$100 more, I called and arrived at advance.Now these 4 prior quotes did not include the higher quality exhaust tips that advance installed.When I arrived at advance and spoke with the owner,Nick walked me out to the shop and we discussed install options and tip location.From start to finish I felt like family and was treated with kindness and respect,something hard to find these days.My exhaust work is to me perfect,and to my standard.Keep in mind, I am a degreed Mechanical Engineer. It pains me to write this review because I had no problems with the service at Advance until today (the ladies at the front desk are always really kind and pleasant which is why I almost gave them two stars instead of one). I recently had my vehicle repaired because an EVAP code caused my check engine light to come on a month ago. The repairs were all complete and my vent valve and purge solenoid were both replaced. This came to approx $550.00.Well, I returned this week because my engine light came back on while driving. I was told that I now have a LARGE EVAP leak. Quite comical (yet, insulting) since they just repaired the leak last month.I left baffled but couldn’t help but wonder: 1) Why wasnt this detected when the valve leak was first repaired in May?, 2) How did a leak turn from a small to a large leak after it was serviced by their mechanics?, and 3) How does the leak get worse after the two main components of the EVAP system were repaired- the he EVAP canister vent control valve and the EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve?Of course they were nice enough to tell me that I could pay another 95.00 for them to diagnose it and tell me why the leak is larger this time (although I know it is the same code from the previous repair). I am very disappointed that they were dishonest and suggest you keep looking if you are considering their services. You have been warned....Update: Took my car to the dealership, and it was my gas cap. Again, patronize at your own risk......I would also strongly advise all professional African American women to stay away from this shop as I suspect this had something to do with their decision to take advantage of me.

Terrible service they do not deserve a star, today I took my truck from 9 in the morning and I was waiting more than an hour for them to attend me later they tell me we are only going to be the oil change for now because we already had 5 cars here yes I like to leave it and in three hours it is ready ok I left them from 12 to 4 p.m. so they could look for an oil leak that it brings and when I return they tell me that they have not checked it because they still have the 5 cars in wait!! Let him come back another day !! That made me angry because I lost a day of work so that these leave me with this asshole. That little professionalism I do not return and I do not recommend it.
