First time trying this place and it does not live up to any hype. Gas stations have better doughnuts. Not only was the gentleman helping me incredibly standoffish, but the doughnuts were undercooked. Tasted like raw dough in the center and pure oil on the outside. The long-John I paid extra for also had very minimal cream filling. Won’t ever be back.

They used to have really good donuts but not anymore. Even first thing in the morning when they are supposed to be fresh. I will not be back

Me and my aunt went there for late night fun and the doughnuts are great. My kids enjoy them for a treat. Good place to mingle affordably without high cost.

Amazing!!! Their donuts are like no other, made with some kind of secret potatoe dough they are so fluffy, yet crispy at the same time. They have so many great choices and serve coffee of course :). I am so happy I discovered Spudnuts, and I will definitely be visiting it every time I visit my family in Ohio! This place blows Dunkin donuts out of the water, so if you are a donut lover like me.. go get them while they are fresh!!

These are by far the BEST donuts of all time! I’ve grown up eating these and nothing has compared. They are so fluffy and airy, like biting into a donut cloud. The only “bad thing” about Spudnuts is having to choose which donut you want because they are all just so delicious! Whenever you are in the area, THIS IS a must stop place!

There is an employee named Jason who hides in the back yelling so customers can hear him that hed like them to leave! Not a good look for a business that relies on its customers returning for more business!

Memories of going here as kid with my dad and grandpa so Ill always love this location. They are doughnuts I compare all other doughnuts to. If I had to have a last meal, cherry fritters from spud nuts would be part of it.

The donuts are good but get them when they are fresh and open 24 hrs so a good place to go for the late night sweet tooth fix

Always try go to spudnuts sunday mornings with the kids. Has become a tradition in our home since covid kicked up.

3 stars for the donuts. the vibes felt like a percy jackson scene where they enter a place owned by a demon without knowing it. felt like a cover for some underground business. couldnt find the handle on the exit and was ready to turn around and see the cashier had sprouted horns.

Possibly the worst doughnuts I’ve ever had. Sour cream cake completely soaked in grease and syrup to the point where they fall apart completely if you pick one up. Really disgusting- after one bite, which I spit out, threw the rest of it away. Very limited choice of doughnuts as well, and they all looked old, stale. Very disappointed in this place- will not be back.

Horrible, absolutely horrible! Spudnuts is horrible. Zero stars. When you walk in you get an intense, thick aroma of rancid fat in the air. It gets you ready for how stale the donuts are. If you like donuts, go anywhere else. The convenience store/gass station has superior donuts. Even the Hostess dinettes are superior to Spudnuts. Everyone should check it out. You can just go for yourself!(~);}

I have been here several times while I wait to get my oil changed and each time the donuts have been stale but this time the donut was pretty good. The first few times the staff was very pleasant but this time we had to leave because we did not “pay” to sit down and eat. What’s it like 25. to sit in their chairs? Won’t be going back.

WONDERFUL, fluffy donuts HOWEVER we were greeted with a “Do you know how many donuts you want?” Not a hello or anything. The clerk just seemed tired by our questions and just stared at me when I asked something that I guess he thought was dumb. So. GREAT donuts but we came from out of town just for this place and didn’t feel welcomed. Just work on the customer service.

Came in this morning (June 30) for a dozen donuts. We typically love Spudnuts but this time the donuts were dry, not fresh at all. I realize they are a heavier donut but extremely disappointed this morning. They seemed like day or even two day old donuts.

There is no other place for donuts. The have the BEST donuts hands down. Always fresh and a decent size. The sour cream is my go to or glazed. The sour cream has a tender consistency and might be a strange way to say it, but me the best way of describing the taste of the sour cream is they taste the way donuts smell.

First experience with Spudnuts Mentor was lovely. Donuts were fresh and delicious, and the selection was stellar. Will definitely return.

Bought a half dozen doughnuts on a Monday at 6 am. They were stale and we ended up throwing them away. This was surprising as I never had a previous bad experience at Spudnuts, but I don’t frequent this place either. The lady behind the counter was very pleasant though.

My brother ordered 2 dozen donuts and they were all hard. He was told to bring them back for a credit; out of the few that were missing they PRORATED the donut count as some of the construction workers took one bite and threw them away and he wasnt about to dig them out of the garbage. One would realize that if the ones returned were hard one would think the others were as well. Stay away from this business.

Went in yesterday morning about 10 am or so and purchased a dozen to go. Usually they seem fresh but unfortunately not yesterday. So it’s were hard with little to no flavor. Workers were nice and polite but I had to throw them away and go back out for another trip for breakfast for the family. Very disappointing. Hope it gets better.

My company ordered a bunch of donuts for an event we hosted and they had it ready before I got there bright and early. I know thats their job but for a small shop, the owner was very friendly and helpful. Donuts are yummy too

RACISM AT ITS FINEST...If I could rate this place with a negative number I would. First of all, I worked the graveyard shift here a few years ago. I only worked here for a short amount of time because I was underage and my mom wasn’t comfortable with me working from 10pm-7am in the shop completely by myself. So, I had to quit. I recently went to the shop to buy donuts and had a friendly conversation with an employee. The next time I visited the shop, she told me that she mentioned me to the owner, and that the owner didn’t remember me. And that she wouldn’t have hired me because the owner said “she would never hire a black girl to work for her. Her business is too racist these days to hire a black person.” This left me feeling completely disrespected, belittled and disappointed. When I worked here, I worked hard. It’s 2019...if you’re against racism and discrimination then DO NOT COME HERE. Oh...and the kitchen was covered in FLYING ANTS when I worked there. They would get into the donuts/trays/icing and we were instructed to just pick them out with our hands. Gross.

Real Comfortable Atmosphere. The place was Dead at 7 PM. Seemed to have no problem with having my dysfunctional family around. I really appreciated that.

One of my favorite memories from the few months I lived in the Mentor/Painesville/Cleveland area almost 7 years ago. Something very cozy about this place. Delicious donuts too! And southern people such as myself might enjoy seeing the word Pop on the menu rather than Soda :D

My parents have been taking me here to get donuts since I was a kid, and Spudnuts never disappoints! Now that I work around the corner from them, I can stop by on my way home from work (even at 4am) to get fresh donuts. Fantastic little shop, friendly staff, and delicious snacks.

I cant go by Spudnuts and not get a donut. Ok, who am I kidding, I usually get a dozen! They are always fresh and taste amazing. The staff is very knowledgeable about their products and prices and deals.

Good selection of donuts.They will give you a punch card for a free dozen after a purchase of 12.The donuts are better than any store bought ones.Negative is that there was a small flying insect on the lower shelf of the right display unit.

This donut shop has been a staple in this area of Lake County for decades. Spudnuts are known for their sour cream donuts and frycakes. Their donuts are not your typical donuts. Hence the name, the donuts are made with potato flour. For that reason, they tend to be on the crispier, drier side of the donut spectrum making them perfect for dunking in your coffee. Theyre open 24/7, ideal for late night munchies or after a night out at the, uh-hem...gentlemans club behind them.

Quality has gone down, almost no cream in donuts or glaze on them. Alot if bread and no taste!

This is the first time that my husband and I visited Spudnuts. The atmosphere was so drab and unwelcoming. There was a gentleman sitting at the counter when we walked in and he stared ar us the whole time. The entire time. The guy behind the counter was soooooo unprofessional. From the lack of a hair net to the lack of verbal skills. It felt more so like racism than anything else. We asked the guy behind the counter what the donuts were and he had an attitude. Strike 1! Then I was admiring an old black and white picture of Spudnuts back in the day. I politely asked if this location was the original one and he looked extremely irritated and said NO. Strike 2! The final straw for us was the fact we were not even thanked for coming in and spending our hard earned money. We could have easily went somewhere else, but we wanted to try them out because of their Google rating. Strike 3! The donuts are actually pretty good though.

I used to really like Spudnuts, but their quality isnt as good as it used to be. I think the donuts taste dry, and there isnt a big enough discount if you buy a dozen of them. That being said, I still get a craving for their brownies on occasion. They do have pretty good coffee, and good service.

Best donuts in Cleveland, and they (almost) never close. And you can feel healthier knowing that the donuts are made from potato! Bonus -- they have a free buy 12, get 1 free dozen donuts card program. Im partial to the old fashioned sour cream donuts.
