Home depot as a company is wonderful... the business they associate themselves, shipping (YRC), with is done in a poor manner. They really need to look at what their willing to loose when it comes to an overall customer service. The people you outsource to will also reflect on you and you made a very poor choice on whom you do business with
Looking at quite a few retail/ hardware stores for a specific tubing for my central air unit. They were very helpful in trying to locate it. They were willing to order the item for me. However I needed it right away. They recommended a few other places to call and gave me the phone numbers. Thank you to those working the customer service desk. I was able to locate the part and install it.
Good inventory but lacks customer service.
I paid to have a new dryer installed and my old dryer removed. Once the drivers came to deliver my driver they did not remove my old dryer. My son had to take the old dryer out. I am very dissatisfied with the service. I was told one thing at the time of purchase, but then told another when I called the store to get answers for why my old dryer was not removed. If you make a major purchase from this store like I did, make sure they have everything in writing so there is no grey area and they can not leave out any important details.
The entire staff was so helpful. So great to see good customer service. One worker chased us down to give our boys a kids craft to take home. The kids love it and are building this wooden car with their dad right now. The cashier was just as nice and great to work with. Thank you.
Nice place for the do it yourselfer... Nice selections and plenty to offer.We have a Menards when is about the same.. then there is Ace Hardware. But we should have a Home Depot as well.We once had a Lowes and a Sears in Portage. Theyre gone for whatever reason. This city is growing and a store like Home Depot fits well here.Another nice feature... Their hotdog stand at the exit of the store. Catch a lot of hungry men and women out shopping and in a hurry. Those hotdogs taste so good too. Yummy ! 😋
I love this Home Depot location. Ive been coming here for years and for all seasons and all needs. Staff in every department are so kind and helpful. There hasnt been a request Ive ever made that made me feel unappreciated. They always listen to my concerns and give such excellent customer service and help so much. Their hard work does not go unnoticed and I will always be back!
Triston Walls is a lazy employee. A transfer who doesn’t know his job well enough. I didn’t know Resells on penny stock is legal with the company.The manager and Staff is not professional at this location. I would recommend taking your business with people who knows what they’re talking about.

This is one of my favorite stores. Too bad they dont sell hot dogs anymore. The layout is good and the website tells you where to find things in store. Curbside pickup, easy returns ( not to be abused, as me how I know ), lock box pickup thingys.
It is a Home Depot....you know what youre looking for if you go there.Everyone wears masks, people socially distance....its all good.If you order online, they will even bring out your order to your car so you do not have to even step foot inside.
I love shopping at my favorite home depot store ❤❤❤❤❤❤they have almost everything that you need from inside the home to the outside but me and my husband went there to see if they had an upright freezer but could not find one but we did get some great stuff that we needed for the house anyway and just couldnt pass up the great prices and the lady at the register she was great and very pleasant taking her time with my husband helping he registering him to get a Home Depot card so he can get discounts when he shopped there he had a great time with her thank you very much we had a great day and again ❤you guys..
Ask one person where something is they send you to another person, who, after you ask sends you to yet another person. It did not go unobserved that they were all having personal chats with fellow employees and gar to busy to help a customer. Me and my money left the store. Is that really how business is done these days???
Wow, i sent an inquiry over 5 weeks ago to have my gate fixrd, i just was sent an email sayibg that they can not do any projests u less it is over 2000. or more, seriously, i have been a customer for several years it is time to switch, as this is ridiculous, never again with i go with home depot, so sad you lost a costomer

Its a home Depot. But like other stores in Merrillville/Hobart/Southlake area it is staffed by terrible employees so dont expect any help. They just stand around at this one. Chatting to each other. Went to buy a mirror. Said there were 6 in stock. Two on display and one for sale. The one for sale was broken. We went to valpo.

Home Depot needs new contractors for door installations! bought doors in April 2020 and have been waiting four months for new doors . they cancelled on me twice without notice .
I usually go to the one in hammond but this was my visit was just as good. The employees are always very helpful and knowledgeable which I think is very important for diyers like myself. I often travel out of my way instead of going to menards. Prices to me are close to the same. Never too busy. Kind, friendly 5 stars

Got most of what we went in looking for, but became impatient and left without a few things because the staff seemed annoyed at having to help or answer a simple question. Will try a different location tomorrow to get the rest of what I need.
Bought a 2pk door stops. Didnt find them by the normal spot. Was looking for the rubber type. Found them in a totally different spot from like items. Price change was not completed because the top pegs were old price and lower price obviously had been raised. They honored the correct price without question.

I absolutely love the home depot. I went in to find out about a washer for a relative. They had so many different choices. I couldnt choose which was best. Then I turn around and find more stuff that I dont need. Isnt that always the case. Anyway. I would totally recommend stopping in!
We went to Home Depot to buy a 2×8 4 long treated piece of lumber. Im an amputee and we had to have an 8 piece cut in half. Went to check out and we got charged for the entire 8 and were told thats the way it is. We werent told that at the time it was cut so my wife walked all the way back to the lumber section and got the other 4. Now how can that be the right way to charge. If there wasnt another fellow in the line we would have payed full price and left the 4 there. Thats the reason we dont shop Home Depot, very deceptive and unethical practices.

Today I decided to go to Home Depot because I had an in-store credit card due to me purchasing paint online and having to return it. So I walked the aisle looking for mud and mudding tape to use the remaining balance on the card. After looking for 10min I started looking for an associate to direct me. Finally, after 5mins came across on and asked her and she directed me to go aisle 3 in the paint department I looked and nothing. Then I asked the man in the painting department and he said thats on the other end of the store to make a long story short why the aisle was blocked off I stood there for 10min and another customer stood there thinking i was in line but I was waiting for the people to stop gossiping and ask me what I need. Finally,after 10min he told me oh you need help I said when the aisle is going to open up he said I dont know then I asked the man in the other aisle he said 5mins. All in all I stood waiting for 20 to 25mins I walked off I will never shop there ever again. Taking my business to Lowes and Menards. And I dont write reviews but I had to do this one.

Staff is very helpful and patient. Store is always clean and for the most part, things are pretty easy to find. Wish they had in-store WiFi. The Home Depot App is pretty useless in the store because of poor cellular coverage.
I had been at Lowes before and couldnt get any help. I went to Home Depot and the helped me immediately, I purchased my new refrigerator and was out of the store within 5 minutes.
Only one lane manned with an employee...all other lanes self checkout...and self checkout is not user friendly. Every other home store has plenty of check out lanes with an actual humans.
I would give 0 stars if that were an option. We moved into our new home on November 12 and scheduled our kitchen appliance package delivery and install for November 13 and our washer and dryer delivery and install for November 14. While our kitchen appliances were delivered on time, the delivery driver showed up, dropped our appliances off in the the garage and left - claiming that he “didn’t get an order to install the appliances”. Mind you, we paid over $400 for the parts (which also weren’t delivered) and the install. The next soonest install date was 4 days later, so we requested a refund and installed them ourself. No compensation for the inconvenience was given if even offered. We were advised that we would receive a call the day before our washer and dryer delivery to schedule a window of delivery time. When I didn’t receive that call, I called myself and advised that my delivery was delayed until December 12, an entire month later. Again, no compensation was offered and I was advised to call back after delivery to discuss further. It is now December 11. I have not received a call so I called again and was advised that our washer and dryer would not be delivered until December 23 (and at this point, I’m even doubting this). No phone call to give me a heads up, no nothing. I couldn’t possibly be more DISSATISFIED with my experience and will never buy Home Depot appliances again. Had we even been given a courtesy call ahead of time to give us a heads up about delays, things would be different. Worst experience, worst customer service ever. I will tell all my friends and family about this AWFUL experience
Granite Counter Tops: don’t buy them here. The staff made two critical mistakes including an incorrect in store estimate costing me $300+. Next the measurements I had to call several times because no one contacted me to set up this in home portion of the process. 5 days later they come out and again I had to hunt them down and finally called Home Depot. Now we’re up to an additional $750 because there is an oversized slab fee which based on in store estimating should and could have been calculated into the original quote. After $3000+ and an additional $750 we are still delayed and no one is willing to make this right. I called Home Depot Corp customer service. Almost the same excuse I received from the “Asst Store Manager” pretty much an “oh well” “nothing we can do” I don’t expect much at this point except maybe a little consideration for the $10,000+ I have spent at the Merrillville location. The staff selling expensive Home Improvements should have basic understanding of protocol with the vendors they used. I called the vendor...this is standard and it took me 10 minutes.To close: they take your money. Hide what they are aware of as fees from the vendor and then put you in a position where you have no choice.Home Depot just lost my business moving forward. Period!
Dont buy an appliance from Home Depot.Home Depot outsources the install and delivery and will not hold their contractors responsible for damage done to your new home or appliance.I had a gas valve broken. If Home Depot refuses to pony up, I can absorb that cost and just never shop The Home Depot again.But, one poor woman had her basement flooded and neither Home Depot nor the contractor took responsibility.You dont have to risk a flooded basement. Just buy your appliance somewhere else.
This store is neat and clean. The staff seemed very helpful & knowledgeable. The sales associate even helped me put the heavy items into my trunk. He also recommended which type of finish I should use to paint my bathroom.

Went to find some appliances that were said to be on sale, only to find out that the appliances we sought were not available. To get them, we would need to wait over THREE months to get the backordered items. We then looked into finding some other substitute appliances only to find out that the substitute items would again need to be placed on backorder. Real fun and fulfilling experience.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE SCHERERVILLE IN STORE Today we had the worst experience ever...they charge us for re- stocking fee of 15%. ($65) for an order that the sales person wouldnt cancelled the day before, because according to him, the order wouldnt be placed until Tuesday (after the holiday)..we asked for the store manager and they send the flooring dept. manager (Juan Godina) whom refused to cancel the $65 re-stocking fee, for Merchandise that they didnt even order. His excuse was that was the store policy. We asked again for the store manager and he told us the he was at home....we were talking to a customer about the situation and Mr. Godina told us to leave the store right away....BEFORE YOU ORDER SOMETHING FROM HOME DEPOT, MAKE SURE THE SALES PERSON HAS THE RIGHT SIZE OR MEASUREMENTS AND THAT HES KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE ITEMS ORDER.. Because it was his mistake of the size and type of windows..

Any other time, I’d give this store 5 stars. Today, I wish I could give it ZERO! I went to buy mattress covers and stood in line. The lady doing checkout completely ignored me! She looked me in the eye and went back to her conversation with a customer who was done shopping about cilantro. I ended up having to use self checkout. I used to be offended for people in retail losing jobs to computers, but now I can see why. If I weren’t moving out of state, I’d NEVER shop at this particular Home Depot ever again.
