For NW Indiana friends: Here is my recent review of Overhead Garage Door Co of Northwest Indiana, headquartered in Merrillville:“The company did a good job of replacing a single car garage door and the track system. The replacement was necessary because the previous owner, Lifeguard Properties LLC, chose to use unskilled, unlicensed workers to replace a non-functional door. The result was a misaligned track system that caused the door to not close correctly and caused the door panels to fold.My concern with Overhead Door is that I requested documentation stating why the door had to be replaced and the cause. Their response was “they didn’t want to get involved.” Now, I apparently will sacrifice $735.10 because I was relying on their support to get reimbursed and it didn’t happen. Yet they write of wanting 100% customer satisfaction.”

I called this morning before they opened and got their answering service. Right after 8:00am I received a call back and Mike W came out a few hours later to fix the problem. He was nice and personable and was done in no time. I would recommend Overhead Door Co. as this is the second time Ive had to call them and they came out the same day to fix the issue.

Had great service with this company! I called in the morning and they were able to get someone out for a repair same day. Prices were fair and they worked quickly! Would definitely recommend for garage work.

Very pleased. Got a quote for a flat rate for new springs and appointment was within 5 days. Other company quotes were priced out for labor, range of cost for springs, lube, etc., which would far exceed the cost of Overhead Door. Techs were friendly and didnt waste any time. I will be calling you again when required.

I highly recommend this company. I called on a Thursday night and left a message. I received a call back on Friday morning by 8:30am and Mike W. was at my house to replace my keypad by 9:45am. He was done in 45 minutes, very polite and the cost was very reasonable. He even oiled the chains of the garage door opener to soften the sound. The garage door opener needs to be replaced soon and when its time, I will call Overhead Door Company of NWI. Thanks guys!!!

This company provides excellent, timely and professional service. Nick (tecnician) diagnosed the problem (worn out gears), made recommendations and completed the job within an hour. He also installed a key pad (extra convenient) and with the new gears the garage door opens so smoothly and quietly, like new. Cliff followed up to ensure the service was to our standards (which they exceeded!). My wife and I are very appreciative. Highly, highly recommended. 5+ stars!!!

Had Mike come out to fix my door after my son forgot to let it all the way up and I ran into it. Mike was able to fix it to where it almost looks like nothing happened. He was amazing and so nice. I would definitely recommend this company and Mike!!

Overhead Door has been extremely responsive to our calls. We had a new opener mechanism installed about 3 1/2 weeks ago. My call, which was midday, was answered quickly & an appointment for the very next morning was made. The installer was on time & efficient. The entire process took only an hour. He was thorough in showing me the differences in the new opener & how to program the key pad. About a week later another problem arose--the spring was broken. Again I received a timely response & the new spring was installed the next day. I have been extremely satisfied with both experiences & highly recommend Overhead Door Company Of NWI!

Called them on a Friday morning due to a broken garage door. They came out in 30 minutes to give me an estimate for a new door. They installed the new door on the following Monday morning. Super fast service and very affordable. I would highly recommend.

First off everything started off great. I called and the next day a salesman came out. I had A special order door which I understand takes time. I should’ve known then when the sales man took the measurements and I asked to hold the tape measure and he said he didn’t need any help. I have been in renovation business for 40 years and I always believe in “measure twice and cut once “. Then when I looked at the order sheet and questioned Frank he quickly corrected me and said that he knew his measurements are right ! Well 3 1/2 weeks the door comes in and measurements where way off ! The installation tech was very nice. Thank God he measured before he removed the old door. After two days I never heard anything from overhead door. Finally I called on Friday morning to find out what was going on. No one called and not even being told if they ordered another door or not. I was told that they had to talk to the owner of the company who was in meetings all day and waited for a return call ! Im a patient person waited up till five minutes till five after not hearing back and the phones had already been changed to answer service. This seems to be a normal practice with this company changing over the answering service before closing hours as it happened few other times. ! The correct door size was ordered I was given a date that the door would arrive in Warehouse! On that day I called and a woman answered the phone and I asked if the clients door was on the truck. She abruptly told me I just had a wait for the salesman to call. She did not take my name or number. So I called back before 5 o’clock and found phones already changed to an answering service. I would make sure if you are ordering a Custom door you request that Frank does not come out. The shining stars in this whole situation was the service techs ! I really felt bad for the second tech ! The company sent him out by himself And had to remove a 8’ tall and wide old wooden door with “HUGE “old springs ! He did an excellent install job By himself and he did not say he needed help ! By my observation As a safety factor someone should’ve been there assisting him taking the old door down!! It should’ve been noted in the work order that it was Oversize tall wooden door.I feel if you have a standard size door you should have no problem / but I would not recommend this company to order anything in a custom size ! As far as a rating The install service tech gets five stars !!But feel company behind him let him down.
