A super secret treasure that I now know about!!! Love it love it. I was able to find an Algebra 1 text book to help my son in school, also some board games for the house. Lots of other things inside but I had to stay focused on what I went for. I will definitely be returning!!

Its great to stop in just to take a look, because its close to home. I used to bring the kids here alot when they were growing up, because it was more affordable than the other guy. Good memories coming here. Its always clean and well organized.

Good as always. They had a lot more variety for me to chose from this time. Its one of the smaller stores so some times there isnt as much to pick from.

When I got there they were closed. Had a piece of paper on doors that showed different store hours than what website and Google maps showed. Not happy!

Half price books has always been a friendly, customer service oriented book store. If you need a DVD, your luck of finding it is good.

They managed to track down a childrens book that I used to read to my girls. They are now in their 30s and 40s. I couldnt believe it and it was only $1.99. I still cant believe it! I am one happy grandma!

How is everything in here marked at full price like its brand new or even worse its at resell prices? $150 for a Super Nintendo system, $300 for a Wii, $50 for a Funko Pop..and thats only 3 things I caught when i walked in the door. But the stores name is literally Half price, more like Half Markup minimum.

It hurts me to leave a 1 star rating on a HPB. Im a huge fan of the stores and I spend way too much money there without guilt because I love the experience. This location, thanks to one employee, the woman with short black hair, gets 1 star. I came in around 2:30 on 7/7/2021 an asked 1 simple question to the first employee I saw: do you guys have any automotive manuals here? She responded with a very sarcastic and passive aggressive HI... How are you today? There was an awkward silence of us starring at each other. I softly said im sorry. She then took me to the section I was looking for but there was a sarcastic and passive aggressive energy she was putting of toward me the whole time. I dont know why I, as a customer asking a question, had to be treated in that manner. I have had good interactions with this employee before. I left without buying what I needed that day, even though it was there.

Definitely one of the busier Half Price Books that I’ve been to, but I always have a great experience at this location. A special thank you to the young lady with short black hair for always fielding my questions and going beyond to help me find what I am looking for.

I like Half Price Books because they have books at very reasonable prices and books are very important because they have a lot of good information to help us grow professionally and spiritually and as individuals!

The store managers and staff are usually always smiling and courteous. HPBM is our familys main HPB Bookstore but mostly due to it being the closest. We drive about fifty minutes to Mesquite 90% of the time just to shop here. It helps being book nerds though!They have vinyl albums (who doesnt prefer that sound am I right?!) CDs, board games, day planners (eclectic ones you wont find at an office supply chain), boxes of any occasion blank cards and other items.My wife and I have sold books at this location countless times. The offers you are given will be based on the demand so keep that in mind. You might be sitting on a treasure trove from your perspective but it will not matter much if it will not do well here.Its an adventure Everytime we go!

I like to come here and judge books by there covers and get ines that look cool and read them. This is how Ive discovered some of my favorite authors. And while reading books on a kindle is cool and all nothing can beat have a physical copy in your hands

Great staff, always friendly. Some stuff is at times overpriced, but thats very rare. Normally everything is cheaper than most alternatives. Plus there is always a great new selection of comics, manga, anime and video games.

One of my favorite Half Price Books locations! I would visit it almost weekly when I lived nearby. They have an ever-rotating selection of great books on the shelves, and I always want to leave with several dozen (though I limit myself a bit)! Their rare books area is also often stocked interestingly--Ive found lots of gems there, like the collected Pierre Louys, and an early translation of the Pillow Book of Sei Shonagon.The staff here have always been friendly with me, and the store itself is well-organized, if a bit on the small side (and it can be overcrowded at peak times).I counted off a star because of the ridiculousness of Half Price Books (overall) trade-in policy. You can bring in boxes and boxes of books that are salable and current, and theyll offer you something thats almost insulting (such as $3 for over two dozen books).

The young man Jelph I believe it was that help me find the miniature cards I needed for my prison,ministry,and outreach. He was very polite,and helpful from the phone call I placed before arriving to shop. Great bookstore. I will return soon Lords will. Paul

This place is always my favorite place to visit! The staff is kind, respectful, and helpful, and the product is spectacular! This is the only half price books location that I have experienced that actually puts a sticker on the boardgames telling you if something is missing! Theyll even ask you at the checkout if you noticed said sticker. But I always find amazing things here for amazing prices! My favorite find by far was a slightly older $136 game for $18! The only thing wrong with it was that some of the pieces inside were broken, but they were easy to fix up and didnt affect the game play at all!

The people that work here are nice but please if you are selling books skip this store. It can get a little cramped because it is a little store ( I may be use to the one on north west highway) . However they have a friendly staff and the books are very inexpensive.

I love this place so much!!!! Normally they have everything im looking for. Only thing I have not found was Junji Ito books, but its ok.

I loved it, its small but they have a LOT of books at great prices, the way everything is organized into categories and its not only books, they have vynil, bookmarks, reading lights, even a kids section, my ONLY problem is that there are some series that arent complete.

Lots os things besides books but if you dont know exactly what you are looking for dont expect much help.

Love HPB all locations. List price is half of original price. However, the new McConaughey book Greenlights is $30 and HPB Mesquite was $24. Right down the road $19.95 at Walmart.

Clean and well organized . they have done a little remodeling, so everything Id easier to find. Their collections are a little bigger than some other half price books stores Ive been to. Staff ALWAYS super friendly and helpful.

I bought a Beethoven timer here and it’s so cool. The only complaint I have is that the workers don’t seem like they want to be there. For example, when I was walking up the counter the employee walked away even though they clearly saw me. Another employee had to go up to the register and attend me. It was little rude, but it was whatever.

This location is small but it has various options and their staff is super knowledgeable about their inventory. Please visit, the experience is worth everything.

We had a Hastings in our town and it closed. This place is a little bit like that. I had fun looking through the Records and CDs my biggest problem was that it was too hot in the building. It is a good place to browse books and older media.

Didnt have what I needed, but they were able to locate it and order it for me! Great customer service with a genuine smile. Cant wait to pick up my order and find more treasure!

I love half price books, but this is the first time Ive tried to sell books to them and had a little bit of an inconvenient visit. I brought all my books in and set them on the counter only to find that they only buy books during certain hours. Why? They seemed to have enough staff, in fact their were 2 staff members at the buying counter, but apparently working on something else. They mentioned that all stores have different hours for the book buying as well, which is annoying. Just think the experience could be better.

It was a cool store. Just didnt like the tall dude with a beard talking talking about me. He was whispering but not very well cause I could hear him perfectly. No reason for him to do that since I was just trying to find a movie to buy. The Hispanic lady at the register was a sweetheart though. Also didnt like how unfriendly the guy with the yellow aviator sunglasses on was. Probably wont be going back to this location. Ill stick to the one on Northwest Highway. Theyre not rude jerks like them 2 white dudes at this location.

This place was a waste of time. I have been cleaning out a rental house and took some books over there where I was told it would take an hour for them to evaluate and decide how much they would pay or I could leave them as a donation. The store was not busy at all and the person behind the counter was rude and condescending. I instead took my books to a local bookstore that is family owned and gave the books to them.

The selection at the Store in Mesquite is awesome. I love the Vegan and Science Fiction selections. They also have an extensive nerd/geek gamer selection. I would highly recommend. And the customer service is a good change as well.

It has a massive assortment of books and movies. It even has video games, board games, etc. The staff was helpful in finding certain authors works and even reccomended other works. Overall it is amazing for book lovers and great if you want to browse some of the above mentioned media.

Will likely not return here. Selection is very... biased. Walk into any other location and I can find all my favorites. This one, well you had better lean left of center politically if you want anything here. Want business titles? Too bad, but here check out our entire selection if gender studies, social science, and lesbian dance theory. I used to love this location, but theyve changed. Not a single employee greeted me, asked if I needed help as I walked all around searching for product to buy, even the cashier didnt speak much either other than That it? $8.65. No smile, no courtesy, nothing. Didnt feel the least bit welcomed there. Guess you need to be part of a certain crowd to get treated well here.

This store is amazing, I could literally spend days here. They have a huge selection of books, video games, toys and other random stuff. Their prices are fair, staff is friendly and knowledgeable... Facility is clean and well organized.

I had an unique experience at this store. After my husband and I shopped we came back to our car only to find that the battery had died. We called a towing facility and they said it would probably take an hour to come to the location. We asked a couple of people if they could give us a jump start but with no luck. So we went back to the store and talked to the Asst manager of the store Josh to see if he could help us. We already had a good experience with him so it was easy to ask. And he went out of his way to come out and give us a jump start. Appreciate the help!

While the place is calmand organized youre better off trying to sell your books online via eBay. I came in with over 50 books and they only wanted $4 since they apparently didnt want any paperbacks despite how well taken care of they are. Thought they are a good place to buy books from Id strongly suggest going elsewhere if youre wanting to sell.

A very nice and well kept environment. The staff are excellent and they will always assist you in finding whatever you need. They have a very good selection of collectibles as well like statues, figures, board games, movies, and etc. 10/10 would recommend for anyone for a love of books.

Awesome place and the people are very helpful

Store is always clean and organized and the atmosphere is nice as well. Not terribly loud from chatter, plenty of room to move around. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. Located in an easy to find corner of the building and pretty easy to get to as well. I had a tad bit of difficulty while trying to find a book for my kiddo because I went in looking for something featuring a superhero and found myself having to sift through each book as there was a category for almost every other topic/genre except for superheroes. All in all, we will definitely be back whenever we wanna get a good deal on some new books.
