Great service. Had my radiator completely replaced. They got in done in 1 day. I asked them to check my serpentine belt for wear, they did just that and notified me that it was still in great shape and didn’t need replaced. Most shops would just tell you yes for more money! Very happy thank you guys.

These guys are the best. Jon is very informative of what is going on with your vehicle as he walks you through the process of what their doing with your car. He does his best to keep you updated along the way, and the time they take to do just a simple brake and rotor change is incredible! I think I was in there for maybe less than 45 minutes to have my rear brake pads and rotors changed, along with an oil change. I will recommend these guys for anything. Theyre very professional and kind people!

ABSOLUTELY the BEST shop, mechanics, pricing on this planet. I have owned vehicles since 1970. At MTI they talked to me and they LISTENED to me. With 175,000 miles and what i thought was oil laying on the engine, as well as going through too much oil, i was afraid this was it. Car had been at used car lot for service a couple times, but problem remained. MTI escorted me into the bay to have a look-see and explained. They charged me a third (1/3) the cost i was expecting and less than quoted! Power steering reservoir broken, not engine! MTI is working with me to get my car tip-top! I LOVE these guys!

These guys were awesome! Thought I needed a transmission for my 1999 Chevy camaro. But I didnt. These guys not only were polite, they got my car together the next day whilst saving me money! Called me and said your car is ready just in case you wanted it for the weekend! Highly recommend this place!!!

So I walked in to make an appointment for an alignment. I could tell by the look on the employee he doesn’t like people or life in general. After I inquired about an alignment The disgruntled employees response to me was “do you have an appointment?” I said no I did not have an appointment. He than said “come back after you make an appointment.” I’m guessing he wanted me to than walk outside and than call him to make an appointment over the phone and than walk back in....? The obvious answer was they did not want any business. I happily went across the street and got the alignment. I’m sure I paid another $30-50 more but it was worth every penny. I’ll never come back here. If the business workers read this I’m sure it will make their day. Give them something to be happy about.

Took my daughters car in to a family business to have it looked at. Now, I realize its a business and nothing is free. BUT, 60 dollars to have it looked at. And then told that it would be 590 to change an alternator and battery. Shop around people. Michigan City MTI is not your place. 2/23 UPDATE: The issues that MTI stated were faulty were not. The battery is brand new and is holding a charge when not connected to the vehicle.. And the starter has checked out good as well. Lights that should be shutting off seem to be staying on once the car is turned off and sitting. Thanks for taking 60.00 for doing nothing! DO YOU HAVE ANY PRIDE IN RUNNING THAT BUSINESS FOR Marty???

John was great and super fast. My Jeep unexpectedly had issues, but he managed to get parts and fix it all in about an hour.

They did my brakes and rotors and a great price excellent job great service what definitely recommend will be back again thanks again MTI!

We had a problem with our truck, supposed to be the ignition switch, ok. Well we got that done at the beginning of June. Well we are now July 19th. Again the very same problem is happening, huh? Matt was great dont get me wrong we could only pay a certain amount and he accepted. I greatly appreciated that. My problem is why is this happening again, a month later. We bought the truck used and I know they come with an extra amount of problems but why did they not make sure nothing else was wrong with it before we left the lot to make sure nothing else happens.

My family and I were passing through on our vacation and my AC went out. We pulled into MTI and those gentleman helped us expertly and pretty quickly...Thanks a bunch John and Walt! You guys were great I highly recommend MTI!!

The people who run this place sound so friendly on the phone and like they want to take care of your car issues, but it will definitely cost you a pretty penny. They charged me $580 for a starter... huge price gouge but was forced to do it because I was stranded in Michigan City. Most recent visit I was quoted $575 for a transmission oil cooler pipe. I was quoted half that cost at another mechanics shop. I decided to get it towed to another shop and repaired somewhere where I dont feel like I am getting ripped off. To top it all off I was told I would be charged $60 for diagnosis and upon arrival to pick it up and pay, I was told it would be $85 because it was an in depth diagnosis?? Whatever Walt meant when he said that, I shouldve been informed of these charges before he went in depth and just assumed I would be okay with paying $15 more than we agreed upon. I would not recommend this place to any of my friends or family.

Walter and Cody went above and beyond to help me. I came in needing a tire, while replacing it they checked my bearings and repacked them. As a single woman it is AMAZING to know they are looking out for me. Strongly recommend this shop!

Horrible experience with my vehicle there, I got extremely over charge on a starter replacement for my truck, $588.00 for a rebuilt starter!!!!!! Call around to local shops the highest was $299.00 for a new starter. I also call where they supposed to get there parts from and the price wasnt close. Call Matt counter guy who lied to me, to have the owner to call me and he beat around the bush on that NO CALL!!!!! I will never go there again!!!! Whats really sad, I call one of there other shop for a price for replacement starter wasnt close!!!! THERE WORKMANSHIP AND HONESTY IS HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!

I first gave them 5 stars cause I went to them for a problem and walt was real calm with me, so I went back a few more times for other stuff. Something started to seem odd! Took my husband truck to go get a oil change cause we just bought it. And to just check the fluids.... never no calls if fluids needed to be changed. Get a call saying vehicle is ready. We go to pick it up, was told my bill was 90 something. I said for a oil change? He tells me we had to flush this too, I said you where just to check it! Paid the bill, he tells me its ready, I go outside to wait for them to pull the vehicle out, waiting, waiting, waiting..... finally door opens dude says sorry we had to tighten the filter it was lose. I said oh.... couple months go by told husband we need to go get oil done again, I know it was dirty when we purchased it so it may need to be done again now! We check it the dip stick has very little oil showing .... we find out the oil pan has a crack and a shop rag squeezed in it... but since I cant really prove it was them considering they did my last change for 90 bucks, we had to get rid of the vehicle! Just be careful if you go!

Service is amazing

I have gone to MTI service center for many years, they are quick and good at they job, they do light michanical things like oil changes, brakes tires etc. On your vehicle, i have fond them to be fair on pricing and knowledgeable about thet craft, appointments are a good idea but i have also gone there without one and have had only a short wait time

The technicians at the store went beyond expectation to help me out on a Friday evening at closing time! They checked the brake fluid when my brakes had overheated while driving through Chicago-Indiana traffic. I would recommend this Auto Repair center to everyone!

Charged us $40 for a diagnosis of a problem that we already knew. Just wanted a quote. Have never been charged for a diagnosis or estimate at the Valparaiso branch. Very unhappy with the customer service at the Michigan City location.

Great service they worked with my warranty company

I came in to get an Alignment on my Truck. After an hour or so, they tell me that I need new Tie-Rods ... I tell them that I will get a 2nd opinion and they charge me for the Alignment. I go to Sears to get a 2nd opinion and sure enough, I do need new Tie-Rods ... but here is the rub, I learned that it is impossible to properly Align a vehicle when new Tie-Rods are needed. With this information, I called two other Mechanic Shops in Michigan City and both of them said the exact same thing ... so, why was I charged for something that I did not receive???Do not go here! I just learned that their only Mechanic is not Certified ... he just has years of experience.
