Wow, years later it still hasn’t changed. This location is so poorly ran with terrible customer service. The people who work there can careless about customer service. I have hopes that the new Sephora by Ulta is better because this store is clearly sinking to the ground. If the women who worked there wouldn’t give and attitude like you’re bothering their life when you have a product question and would be happy to speak to customers, this store would make it far.
Had just the right product for my friend. In and out quick. Excellent service.
Theres this super cute girl named Becca, I believe. Shes super attentive and listens to your needs. She goes out of her way to find what youre looking for and makes the experience so much more pleasant. No one really likes to go back and forth to find their exact shade of what they want. But Becca makes it fun and is extremely helpful and super sweet. Thank you!
Staff is extremely rude! You cant touch anything or even look at it. Staff just passes you off and cant actually help at all. Worst sephora I have ever been too. Walked out and took my business to ulta!
Very good customer service, friendly staff.
Went looking for some new brow products left with yet another horrible experience at my local Sephora I went to check out and a fairly new employee couldnt have been anymore disrespectful I had a return off the bat I could tell this girl wasnt liking that mind you I also had a nice size new purchase after her nasty attitude and while ringing me up I asked for two free samples of products I would like to try she totally ignored my words as if I wasnt standing right in front of her and put my recept in my bag and thought that was a wrap I guess so I so patiently waited for the other associate to finish and asked her for my samples which she got right away this girl happened to be a new face as well let me say out of all the girls that work in Sephora that Jamie gets a huge thumbs up she did her job was helpful pleasant and new her makeup to bad the rest of the staff makes going to this Sephora a trip taken only if in dire need of something it is not my go around there and I have gone to plenty other Sephora s not once was I ever made to feel as if I didnt exist or perhaps was a bother I do not recommend our local Sephora to anyone over high school age they dont seem to be nasty to the younger girls I agree with all prior post before mine if you do go venture into witch land I hope you are lucky and get Jamie
Never has anything in stock. Not a good selection for my skin tone which is just like normal light-medium . Anytime I want to go get a palette they are out. I was told once to come back tomorrow and they would have the naked palette in stock, drive back the next day and stilllll didn’t have it. Don’t tell me it will be here tomorrow if it won’t. Be honest and don’t make me waste my time.
Pricy and slow to help older people even in a very slow store
Bunch of rude employees who have zero knowledge of the product. awful experience
Dont come here expecting customer service. Definetely dont get your makeup done here, either. I now only come here if I have to return something, which I try to avoid because its so horrible at this location. They act like its a burden. I have never been to such a Sephora where the employees are the most unhappy, non passionate, unprofessional people I have ever seen. They never want to help anyone or greet walk-ins. When you ask a question, they get annoyed and respond with attitude and you can just tell they dont want to help. Why? Sephora, please do better and stop hiring just anyone! The females there dont even know how to put makeup on themselves let alone barely know anything about the product! I wont even classify them as women because they dont even have class. One of the employees was eating chips at the cash register and didnt even have the decency to help the handful of customers that were in store. This location seriously needs better people.
Let me start with the positive, the sales associates are always so helpful and after witnessing how I saw the manager treat them I am amazed how they are able to keep a smile on their faces. I was in the store Monday March 27 in the afternoon and the manager (I believe her name is Sharon, she has blonde hair and is very tall) was yelling at an employee in front of myself and every other customer that was in the store at the time. I felt so bad for the pretty young Asian girl (I dont know her name but I do know her Grandma is sick, as this was something she was responding with while being verbally abused by her manager). While in the store I heard the manager yell at her for at least 25 minutes. Not only was I mortified for the poor girl being yelled at but also the fact that her business was being broadcasted to an entire store of strangers. She was screamed at for taking off a day to visit her Grandmother who is dying in the hospital and then I over heard that she was sent home from work on Sunday because she was throwing up.After the manager was done ripping the poor girl to pieces she asked her if she had anything to say for herself. She responded with the fact that she didnt ask to leave when she was sick that she was sent home by the manager working because she was throwing up and the manager didnt want to risk her getting anyone sick. Personally, I am THANKFUL she was sent home I wouldnt want someone sick doing my makeup and being that close to me if they are throwing up. I ended up leaving because I needed help and was intimidated and distraught after listening to what this woman had done to her employee. I typically wouldnt write something like this but I feel it is something that needs to be mentioned. I shop in the store quite often and this is NOT the first time I have over heard her degrading her employees but this was by far the worst. I think you all need to be aware of the type of person you have running your store as from what I have seen in my many times shopping that she does not treat her employees well. The poor girls there are probably too scared to even say anything so I hope my voice is heard for them and that something is done!!
They have poor customer service too busy worrying about talking and gossiping. They need propped training I spent about $120 on three items out of the two I cannot return. I purchased tenth beauty and tried on the shades and they told me because I was going to Miami and I was going to get a little dark to be safe with the shade as a just in case. Sadly I’m STILL the same skin tone. Because it’s two weeks over 60 days they were willing not to help. It’s not worth going to that store better off going to an ACTUAL Sephora than that location. Worst location EVER!!!! I give it NO STARS
Horrendous. Absolutely HORRENDOUS .... All their WORKERS in this location stare you down like youre going to steal something. Sis this is Sephora in Middletown, not Manhattan .... Im from the city where theres WAY better Sephoras than this one.Humble yourself & pack it up please & thank you hun!I mean everything about this location is WACK .... from the product availability to the employees attitudes. On 2 separate occasions, the same employee (who I dont know from a hole in the wall) stared me down because I used a tester brush for highlight when I went to put it back.(A very bitter look)I came a few days later to test perfumes & she was continuing to stare & whisper about me to her coworker while they were checking customers out at the register & I heard her because the perfumes are located right behind the cash register.. which isnt even fair to the customers who need your undivided attention, ESPECIALLY in that moment because youre dealing with peoples money but nooo! I had to be the talk of Sephora huh girl? Besides, I dont even know her! talk about obsessed! I found out her name is Ashley & shes a manager which makes it even sadder. Lmao horrible management skills sis .. This Sephora needs tremendous work for it to deserve AT LEAST 2 stars & that’s me being generous.ANYWAYS, if I ever FEEL like making an appearance in this Sephora again .. it BETTER not happen again .Btw, only giving 1 star because I have to... OTHERWISE, it would be ZERO.
Made a purchase today ..was in store maybe 10 minutes and not one of the three floor reps asked to help me or even greeted me. One floor rep was so busy putting on her eyebrows in the mirror clearly to busy to help any customers. Another rep was so busy cleaning a piece of jewelry that belonged to the cashiers boyfriend..a full conversation was had while I was checking out. The register person didnt ask how my experience was she just quickly rang me up without giving any eye contact. I havent experienced this amount of poor service in awhile especially at Sepora. I intend on making a formal complaint about my experience.
Sephota eas very helpfulIt was a joy having her as my salesgirl
The staff is very kind and helpful there
Never have I been to a Sephora with worst customer service. I’ve returned items no questions asked quite a few times to other locations. That’s what makes Sephora great, you buy, and if it doesn’t work, you return it. I had a receipt and everything and they gave me such problems. They tried to give me a JC Penny voucher. Ummm, no, I don’t SHOp at JC Penny. Please get your stuff together and act like a legit Sephora, not some cheap knock off. The wackest!
Staff there DO NOT pay any attention to you if you’re a mature woman. I don’t understand that they ignore customers who are probably going to spend the most money. I was in the store for 10 minutes and not one associate asked me if I needed assistance. They did, however approach teens/20-something’s. I will go to the other big beauty store in Middletown
The customer service is awful. If I go in with a full face of makeup they will actually help me. If I walk in bare faced they look at me like I am about to steal. There’s never anything in stock here. Overall just an awful experience.
If you go here, you will be followed around and treated like a thief. Ironically, the moment you need something, the staff is too busy gossiping to care.
My daughter and I frequent this Sephora. We were there super late on Saturday. They were so patient and helpful; even so late at night, when most people are tired.I found the two girls working there, to be very wholesome and kind.I stress wholesome because nowadays you find true scum working in stores, with galaxy sized egos and zero manners. One girls grandma shares my daughters bday (4/4).It was very refreshing, hearing her speak about grandma, so lovingly and respectful.I also love the manager at this location. Shes tall, blonde, pretty, with a down to earth attitude. Initially I didnt even realize she was the manager, she just pitched right in assisting us.Just my two cents, and to thank those two very nice girls from Saturday night.I had to edit to add, that after reading everyones reviews they are right, except lately there are different girls working here, even a super sweet guy, (Nicholas) who helped us pick out a highlighter palette.Prior to this year, before those three staff members. I was uncomfortable going in there, because it seemed too much to ask for assistance. That Asian girl, and a Hispanic girl included, were catty and snide. The tall manager has always helped out behind the counter, the floor and register at the same time, while the regular girls always looked and acted like they were on their period. I have never witnessed her reprimanding anyone. She has always been jovial, and calm in the time, that we have been going.I forgot to mention NICHOLAS whom deserves employee of the month. He picks my shades out for me, and has a great eye, friendly smile, knowledgeable, helpful. It seems he is definitely everyones go to person there. Best employee yet!!
My mother and I went to this Sephora today to buy a few new beauty supplies. Ive never had a problem with any other Sephora; however, our experience today has changed our view of JCP and Sephora and makes us never want to come back. When we got up to the counter, we were immediately greeted with an extremely unpleasant cashier, Dana. I have never been so offended in my life at her attitude and outright rudeness. She gave my mother the total, my mother swiped her card, and out of confusion asked oh, did I swipe it correctly?. Dana nastily responded, How about you give it a minute, okay?. When my mother asked her if she had done something to deserve the awful attitude that was being directed at her, Dana simply continued to degrade her with her nasty looks and attitude. I had to walk away out of anger just from looking at my mothers hurt facial expression. My mother was devastated about the experience, which makes me never want to return to a JCP/Sephora if they allow their employees to treat their customers that way for absolutely no reason. Disgusting. So if you happen to pop into Sephora, feel free to give Dana the biggest attitude you can for me and my mother :) Or just avoid this Sephora at all costs for your own sanity!!!
Im only giving this location one star because you have to, otherwise it would be a zero. I refuse to go and shop there. I always travel the hour down to Rockland. This Sephora never has anything good in stock. The employees are often more interested in their conversations than helping anyone. It is a real shame since I do love Sephora and have been a VIB Rouge for years.
The store barely has an product in stock. Everything is very sloppy. And the manager was extremely rude to me when I wanted to make an exchange. Now I drive to New Jersey sephora instead of this one that is 15 min from my house
Now that MAC is inside Macys, this sephora will go down hill. Maybe it will not because JCPenny is holding them down, but the quality of people they retain is unbelievable. Not only are they rude and they act like theyre doing you a favor, they are lazy! I came in a few weeks back to buy a few products and was told there was no one to assist me in finding everything I had on my list. After leaving and passing by like 20 minutes later because I was shopping at JCP, the MUA is there on her phone with an empty store. Well, business lost to MAC. This sephora is so poorly ran.
This is the LAST straw with this Sephora! I AM NEVER GOING TO SHOP HERE EVER AGAIN!!! The customer service at this particular branch is deplorable! I just called to check on the availability of a product that unfortunately Ulta does not carry, and received the BIGGEST attitude from the employee who took the call. Of course they did not have the what I was looking for, but as I was thanking her for checking for me she just hung up the phone on me right in the middle of my sentence! This is NOT the first BAD experience Ive had at this store with these girls, and their attitudes either. The only time any employee bothers approaching me is when Im doing something wrong, like opening a non sealed box containing a product before purchasing it just to be certain that whatever is in that box is indeed what I am bringing home. Ive purchased items before from there, and when I opened them when I returned home they were either the wrong item completely, the wrong color, or were used. Then they would have the nerve to give me an attitude when I brought the products back, and on a few occasions declined the return because of why I was bringing them back! They generally will come up to me, and in one particular instance about a few years ago, a very manly looking woman actually yelled at me, as if I was stealing from them, What are you doing?, than proceed scolding me like a child by saying, You cant just open a product! That is why we have testers here! (Which there hardly ever are). This incident stopped me from going there for a while, but when I returned the attitudes of the employees remained the same. They are also very stingy with their samples too. So much so, that the one time this one girl actually snapped at me because after she gave me a sample of something another employee had asked me if I wanted another sample, and I said yes. Instead of saying, Oh Im so sorry sweetie, but we are not allowed to give 2 samples of the same product at a time., she turned to me, and said, I just gave you a sample of that! You cant have another one!, than rolled her eyes to her coworker as if I were trying to get over on them, and said, She cant have another one! I just gave her one!. Slowly I started bringing my business to Ulta who has just about everything Sephora has, and even more! There I receive a friendly Hello! every time I walk through their doors, am constantly asked if I need help, and actually treated like a human being. My advice to anyone looking for higher end makeups or skincare products from personal experience is to either go to Ulta, or drive one hour down to the Sephora in Rockland County at the Nanuet Mall. There is also one located at the Palisades Center. Either that or order online!
