Even though they have some nice employees theres the ones that ruin everything. Plus the hours the have at the door are not consistent with how abruptly the close the security fence on the windows is messed up, and when I ased, he only said 8pm, yes I know here it says 8pm but when the door says otherwise well just imagine. Thats why for me is a 2 star and because is just so close to my house. I will wait another day then, even though someone told me to get a printer here because it was a better quality. Now Im not sure maybe office max
Not very helpful. I had an issue that they wouldnt help me with. Theyre the only game in town for office supplies and usually I have good experiences there. Not this time
My wife is a teacher and needed to set up a home office due to the virus so that she could teach online. We stopped in to shop for a printer, desk chair, & lots of other office supplies. We found all the employees to be extremely helpful and in a great mood. Everyone was wearing masks and the aisles were marked with arrows to guide people around the store. Every employee we came across while browsing the aisles asked if we needed any help finding anything. Andrew and his coworkers helped us find a chair and printer that my wife loved. Andrew even helped carry the big office chair box to our vehicle after checking us out at the register. We appreciated the level of service we received and were so happy we decided to go the store instead of trying to find all these items online. We definitely will be back to the Middletown store for any other future office product needs.
DO NOT use this location for shipping services. my box arrived absolutely destroyed with a giant gaping hole and high value items fell out during transit. i have never seen a box arrive in this condition with ups. the kid at copy center NEVER asked if i wanted insurance on the box, so now this is a huge issue because i need to be reimbursed for items lost. so now when i file a claim and go to court i have to waste my time explaining that staples never offered me insurance (which they are supposed to do, ups only covers 100$ standard) they really shouldnt be handling important parcels to begin with.
I would give a 0...they have dead rats in the store and they wont do anything about it but clean when they put poison down and they are in the walls and air vents dead
Okay, whos the REALLY fat guy with the big mouth? I went in there the a couple weeks ago and was accosted by this sweaty, obscenely obese guy who insisted he knew exactly what I wanted. Which was odd, since I was there only to accompany a friend buying a computer. Anyway, this guy had a name badge on, but I couldnt for the life of me read it; it was just a bunch of consonants. No idea who he is, but he works for Staples, thats for sure. He tried to sell me a really expensive printer with a service plan. I told him to go away. He persisted. I grabbed my friend by the elbow and hustled her out of the store. That was A) Strange; and B) Unpleasant. I wish I could decipher the fat guys name so I could report him.

Went in to send a fax... Only one machine was functional... Seems like theres always some sort of issue whenever I go in to use these machines. However, I used them to make flyers for a function I was promoting. They did a great job. So I guess it depends what your looking to do when you head in there... Cross your fingers and allocate a few extra minutes... Just in case
I had a bad experience there too. I had some merchandise I wanted to return about $75. They told me they only accepted returns up to 14 days. I had it for 16. I couldnt get to the store before then. I asked for a store credit. Nope. I then made the mistake of speaking to the manager who, quite frankly, was a shrew. Not going there again!

The people who are giving this place five stars must either work there, have friends who work there or are drunk. Really people, five stars?? First, try to get someone to wait on you, have a nice long wait! Then ask a technical question about a computer or printer. Forget it! Finally, ask to speak to the manager and you get a nasty woman who needs a course in customer service! Im going to Office Depot!
A lady named Wanda, called a good friend of mine re: employment - said Wanda, was all trying to get in her personal business ( made her very uncomfortable and turned off ) no other employers did such - and she said Wanda, seemed rather condescending - mind you it states right on her resume and cover letter she has a lot of sales, customer service and retail. She also won awards in customer service excellence. Thier loss! Also looking at some of the reviews glad shes not working for them
I am a regular at this store and manage to get so much done. When I need help, I get it. People are kind and helpful and greet me cheerfully. I was able to get my yearbook from many years ago reprinted; able to roam the store undisturbed and yet, if Im looking puzzled, I am offered assistance. I love this store!
Had an bad experience in this store. I wanted to buy a laptop. Met someone claiming to be the manager. Didnt answer my questions but was happy to bark orders at her employees. They couldnt answer my questions either. Well, at lest theyre consistent. Ill be going to the Apple store and spending more money, I guess. If you want questions about computers answered, dont shop here.
When this store says we have everything you need, they werent kidding. The amount of merchandise for back to school stuff is amazing, so Im pretty sure your child will fare quite well with the offers. However, I feel like some of the staff, not all of them, are a bit... meh. One older gentleman there, for example, is very witty with replies to the point where you just wanna smack him because it goes too personal once in a while. Despite that, hes still a nice man. A few younger employees there, good god, you have to shout for their assistance 10 damn times before they finally respond to you for something. What kind of service is that?

Exactly what you should expect from a minimum wage establishment: reasonable (if not sometimes great) prices with employees who dont care about helping customers and who have no knowledge of the items sold. Use Amazon unless you need to speak with someone knowledgeable first (and if thats the case, your luck will vary from okay to horrible).
Clean store, mostly nice staff.. I encountered a very rude gentleman today. (Older gent with glasses) I asked about the water that was advertised at a specific price. I did not see it, so I asked. He very defensively said..we dont sell that brand, me your flyer says it is on sale him well it also says each store is independent and may or may not participate me..as I walk out of store 😕. Totally handled wrong, I hope this will be used as a training opportunity by management.

Operations supervisor David was not willing to help us with our printing needs for a template print that I needed done for my wedding. Gave no options, only cared about leaving the store by 6, not about helping customers at all. Very disappointed as we have done a lot of printing in the past with staples.
Help us looking for the self seal Lamination sheets. I gone thru all rows and could not find this item Todd Johnson was so helpful for me plus found many sizes. I have a new Medicare Care and wanted to have a cover on the Card. Just Perfect. Everything we have Jim ( cashier) Always is just a Great greater and very Helpful to. Couldnt go to the post office during the day because I work. Came in 8pm, I brought my package with prepaid shipping label and they will make sure USPS picks it up tomorrow. Free of charge if you are just dropping off packet. Very convenient
Over the years I have bought from them and I have ask technical advice about my computer and every time I have asked a question, I was givenmy answer. The staff has always be very friendly and helpful and I would recommend them.
I went to the Staples in Middletown, CT to have 6 documents printed. Each document was one page, front and back. I waited an hour and 15 minutes while the agent received new walk up orders and printed those orders ahead of mine. Finally, my 6 pages were printed and I went home - only to find that they were the same document 6 times rather than my 6 separate documents. I returned to the store at 8:30 (the store closes at 9). For 30 minutes, the employee attempted to print my order but the printer continuously jammed. At 8:55pm, I asked if I should come back tomorrow or if I could get a refund so I could go elsewhere. The employee advised me to get the refund and to go to FedEX (which is 30 minutes away). However, I could not receive a refund because the registers were shut down at 8:50 - 10 minutes prior to store closing. This is unacceptable and Staples should be ashamed of the actions of this store.
The service in this store is just horrible. Lost my package that I dropped off. Called them and they can’t do anything but redirecting me to another person until nobody picks up. And when u try to call again, they just simply ignore the phone call.

I dropped off a binding order an hour before close. They were more concerned with closing up then doing my order while I waited. (Ive had this done before, it takes 5 minutes). The next day they called to say they dropped the papers and they are now out of order. No apology, no solution offered. I suggest that I will come back in but I will need it finished while I wait. I come back and again, no apology, the same associate seemed more annoyed with me so I decided to leave without my order completed. He didnt seem to care at all. You just lost any future business from me at this location.
I wanted to buy a printer here. I hung out in the aisles where they keep their display printers for 20 minutes. Its not that there wasnt any staff, there was. They simply ignored me. On my way out I asked to speak to the manager but was rudely told she was indisposed. Right. Not going back!

Worst service ever!! Went to print department. Had to wait for kid to stop talking to his friend. Then he said he was busy and pointed to the mess of laminating project all over the floor. (If the customers saw the lack of care)! And ROLLED HIS EYES at my project and tskd out loud. Saying maybe by morning if I can finish this and point again to his mess. I said never mind and bought other stuff and left 20 min later. The kid was STILL standing and talking to his friend and the mess on the floor. I took it to Old Saybrook Staples instead? In and out in 20 minutes with a smile.
Prices are a little crazy, unless you have coupons. Printing/faxing area is a life saver in a pinch. Staff are friendly. Younger staff could learn some customer service tips and see that customers comes first.
Went in for a paper shredder. Picked one out, found out they didnt have any anywhere. Sales person walked off. Had to find him to ask for a different one. Also didnt have it, wasnt even in their system and wouldnt sell the floor models. Told them I would order one from Amazon and left.
I used staples to get my screen protector replaced. Tjhe tech center did a great job and I paid half of what I wouldve paid at Verizon.

Horrible. Literally horrible shipping service - and this isnt even based on ONE experience, unfortunately its based on many different experiences (because clearly I dont know how to learn a lesson properly). Items shipped wrong (asked for media mail and shipped as a regular letter, asked for priority and shipped as parcel, etc.) And to top it all off the people working the shipping counter dont know anything about the postal service. The last girl tonight spent 30+ minutes trying to figure out how to ship my items - while simultaneously asking me what type of bug just flew by?.. or im tired and trying to keep myself awake - any advice?.. she spent more time chit chatting then actually focusing. If youre in the Middletown area looking for somewhere quiet and quick to ship, dont go here - take the extra 10 minutes and drive to Cartridge World in Cromwell and youll still save yourself twenty minutes of time, even with the extra drive.

Worst Staples I have ever gone into. The staff seem lost and clueless. I needed copies of travel documents. The staff could not get the self serve copy machine working for me. They would say a few words and run away. I had to leave without any copies. They would not help me, and there were very few customers in the store.
Poor selection of items and I dropped off packages for UPS and they were NOT picked up that night even thought I dropped them off in advance of the 5pm UPS Pick-Up sign.
The staff seemed friendly enough but not only did my order not go through until I was in store (was driving by anyway), the staff seemed confused about finding my order after having given them my name at least twice, printers were jammed and self serve computers were out of order. At one point, perhaps five minutes into helping me, the girl stopped to fix a jammed printer which had been silent the entire time I had been in the store.After having discovered that my order hadnt processed correctly in the system, the girl said she would call after an hour, hour and a half when surely my order would be completed. My husband who was going to be in the area this evening said that he would swing by to pick up the job and so I called the store to see if the job was done. It took them 10 mins to pick up my call and after a two minute wait on hold after getting through, she told me that my husband had already arrived at the store. It was a waste of his time as yet again, printers were jammed and they had not touched my order.Im afraid I wont be using them again because a lack of quality customer service and no sense of urgency.
Absolutely horrible. Store manager is a liar and mouthy. My wife called to make sure something was available for the 1hr store pick up option and was told yes we can pick it up the next morning when we were able to. Then received an email saying it was unavailable and could be shipped in 3 day that defeats the purpose of 1hr pick up. Store manager proceeded to tell my wife they have 2 but their in the return bin for being defective. What kind of customer service is that. On top of that they said it will take upto 3 days to return the money. Will never use staple or go there again

On 2/20 I tried to buy a new PC, saw an add for HP 110 at 249.99 price good untill 2/21.Iwent to the Middletown, Ct. store and was told that the least expensive HP was 299.99 and the 249.99 item was only available on line. Today 2/21 I checked the ad and it said in store only I spent 14 min on the phone before Dan called me back to say that yes they have the 249.99 model ( in fact 3 of them). I told him that I could not get back to their store untill Monday. He told me that I could not buy it at the 249 price, he suggested that I buy it online with in-store pick up. Of course no such option was available because In store only means just that.
I forget the staff member who helped me. I think he was a manager and he had glasses. Very friendly and kind guy. Thanks!
