Incredible service, and staff. It was my first time, they were so patient with me. All the staff from the office were helpful and kind. They showed me several frames and I was able to decide on the perfect pair. Then they walked me through the process and provided me with AFFORDABLE options that fit my eyes and needs. I have a follow up and then my glasses should be ready. This was the quickest and smoothest transaction. Thanks ladies!!

Unfortunately the original owner/doctor retired. Most of the staff is the same but customer service & management quality has declined. The ladies there are always chatting about, quick to a point of impatience, and somewhat rude. I understand the world is different now and everyone is understaffed and underpaid (except min wage fastfood workers 🙄) but they really need to improve customer service if they want repeat clients. Been going there for a few years but for next pair of glasses will look elsewhere.

I had been going here for years with the prior Eye doctor and the staff was wonderful. This is a new staff for me so Im just getting to know them. They were very nice, very helpful but one of the women who was there from the prior staff, Maria, is now with this organization and she is wonderful! I love Maria shes so friendly shes very nice, very helpful knows what shes talking about, greatly appreciate having a friendly face and a knowledgeable person to deal with it when you go in.

I am a former patient of Dr Feder who has now retired. This new company that has taken over provides an excellent experience! The equipment has been upgraded and the new staff is also very nice. There is a new team of Drs that rotate throughout the week. My Dr was terrific and I found her personality joyful and pleasant. She was very informative and considerate.There is also a staff member named Maria who is an excellent fitter & sales person and has been around since the previous staff. She is probably the most friendly, kind, and fun person on the crew! I was so glad to see that she was still there because she has always provided me with excellent fitting services and made me feel as if I was being very well taken care of. I was really impressed with the exam I received and how professional the staff are. Dr. Kahle is excellent. She spent time explaining everything to me and I felt very comfortable asking her questions. This was the best eye exam I have ever received.Maria was wonderful helping me to pick out glasses. She went above and beyond to make sure that I would be happy with my selection. I am somewhat picky and had an idea of what I wanted and Maria listened to me and took the extra time.

I’m really picky with which optometrist I go to, because they usually don’t offer hands on service such as helping you pick out glasses, etc. That was not the case with Ultimate Spectacle! My eye exam was very well done as well. Maria was really thorough and helpful when helping me decide which glasses looked best on me. She was patient and allowed me to spend what felt like 30 to 45 minutes just deciding if I wanted to buy frames that weren’t fully covered by my insurance and choosing between different options for my lenses. She was pleasant the entire time and was the first person who actually helped me pick out frames and I’ve had glasses for almost 10 years now. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who values great customer service and pleasant staff.

Ultimate Spectacle in Middletown was a GREAT choice! I traveled almost an hour each way for my two appointments, and it was worth every mile. Dr. Kale was knowledgeable, thorough, and nice. Valerie helped me choose two frames, and her expertise was really helpful! Every staff person I encountered was warm and courteous. I think Enez and Jessica might’ve been the names of the other peeps (get it, peeps?) who helped me. I seriously cannot say enough good things about this office and retailer. There are bazillion styles to choose from, all high quality, many covered by insurance. My children who had to tag along felt welcome, too. It’s so refreshing to LOVE a business in this day and age! I had been using Visionworks in Kingston but could not reach them after many attempts...they do not answer the phone! My daughter had a great experience at Ultimate Spectacle in Middletown so I decided to give them a call. AND....THEY ANDWERED THE PHONE!!! I was able to get a quick appointment and got exceptional service every step of the way. The exam was truly the most thorough eye exam I ever received. The doctor was also very thorough and knowledgeable. Valarie and Selena were extremely helpful and efficient through the purchase process. I ended up buying extra glasses and their prices were reasonable too. I recommend this provider without hesitation. Ill never return to the other guys that caused so much stress and wasted time.

About 2 months ago I went into their Middletown office for my yearly exam. I wasnt thrilled about how I was treated from the exam down to my glasses. I am still having trouble with the prescription. The girls in the office come across as not knowing what to do, from Maria taking my order and at the same time carrying on a personal conversation with another patient as well as answering the phone, down to the store manager that insisted on correcting my problem her way not even listening to my problems. These are just some of my issues. I am to the point of demanding my money back, getting my records and going elsewhere. Fast forward to today, still having issues I went in today which would have been my last time but I met the assistant store manager Valerie. What a pleasure!! I wish I had started with her. She took the time to listen to my problems, explain things to me, and actually corrected my one problem. You need more people like her. Shes personable, intelligent and should be the store manager of the Middletown store. Im sure youll find a lot more happier customers. The staff there can certainly learn from her! Thank you Valerie.

It’s been a few years since I had an eye exam and got new glasses but I was very pleased with the staff and the entire process of doing so. Dr Kahle was professional, knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. Turns out our kids went to High School together. Go figure. Maria was exceptional at helping me pick out 3 pair of glasses and new contacts as well as navigating through the insurance coverage. Her advice and understanding of the benefits was invaluable. She also has a great personality and we had a few laughs which made the entire process seem effortless. Kudos to the new “Ultimate Spectacle” of Middletown. I must give Dr. Doherty 5 stars. In all honesty 5 stats is no where near enough. I brought my daughter in for an eye exam due to headaches and blurred vision. This Dr. saved my daughters life. During the exam he noticed an issue and was truly concerned about my child. He remained calm and instructed me to take her to the Emergency Room right away. He called ORMC and alerted them we were on out way. My daughter spent 10 days in WMC Childrens Hospital. If you need an eye exam, glasses, etc I highly recommend Ultimate Spectacle. The state of the art equipment and their knowledge saved my daughter! The staff are very friendly and helpful. I received calls from the office to check on my daughter because the staff were truly truly concerned. I can never Thank you enough! I recommend everyone I know to Ultimate Spectacle. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by some very happy and professional staff members. The medical technician (I wish I remembered her name) explained in detail everything she was doing, and even took time to educate me on what each part of the exam was for. When I was examined by Dr Khale she was just as thorough and very pleasant. Her and her technician took time to show me the diagnostic images of my eyes, explaining what I was looking at. Today was my first time taking my teens to this practice . I was greeted immediately by happy, professional staff . Dr. Kathle was wonderful with my children . While I waited for my eye exam with Dr. Guttman, an elderly man sat down across from me, my back to him. I heard him say, But I cant see with these glasses on. The sales associate was ultra patient with him explaining the process of selecting new frames confidently. I was called into the back for eye tests with another patient employee, Brenda and thats when I asked who the sales associate was because she was amazing...Maria was her name. After my eye exam with Dr. Laura Guttman who clearly answered my questions about cataracts and explained how steroid asthma inhalers can change them, it was my turn selecting glasses with Maria. Maria made the whole process of eye glass selection and the benefits of different lens understandable and I appreciated that. I recommend The Ultimate Spectacle. I wouldve have given it 5 stars but you cant use the rest room there because of Covid the receptionist told me. I had to drive next door to IHop. Good thing I didnt wait like I usually do. Then I returned to select my glasses with marvelous Maria.

Overall, the exam was good and the Dr. is great! The rest of the staff is rude. I got glasses from there last year and didnt have to pay anything out of pocket. This year they said I had to pay 60.00 for a pair of readers... which I can get at any store over the counter. I figured why not get my glasses there if my insurance pays 100%! I can get a pair of Forster Grants for less than what they wanted to charge. I called my insurance co and they said Im covered 100% and they dont know why they would want to charge me when the frames arent even designer. Im calling the BBB on them. NEVER GOING BACK!!

I used to go to the previous dr. And I had heard it was sold. My friend warned me it was different. When I arrived I had to fill out paper work and was called honey and sweetie, not really professional. Thank God Maria from Dr. Fenders office was still there. She made me feel more comfortable. The workers were loud and would yell out patients names instead of getting up and walking over to us. Marias calming voice and assistance in picking out frames was a comfort. The dr was great but the loudness of the staff was unsettling. It felt caotic.

We had anxiety over starting with a new eye doctor, but our change in insurance left us with no choice and I’m beyond happy with our choice. Not only did the doctor go above and beyond to be informative, he made my children feel comfortable and that alone speaks volumes. They were also able to print me out a referral for my 4yr old son at another facility so he could be seen as well. The staff was friendly and kind. Dr. Scott is so personable and well spoken and made us feel very comfortable. They took the time to treat myself, my husband and our children like family. We have Davis Vision eye insurance and there will be a bit of a longer wait for our glasses due to the circumstances surrounding the pandemic and we are completely fine with this. Thank you Ultimate Spectacle for going above and beyond.

I went in to get some information as I am switching providers. I was greeted by a Tech, Jaime, who was very polite and professional. I felt very comfortable and will be changing providers for my family.

Dont be fooled by the old reviews. Dr Feder and his staff were great. This new management team is horrible. No customer service skills and not polite. Got glasses 2 months ago from Dr. Feder with all the bells and whistles. Lenses were scratched (and yes paid extra for warranty and scratch resistance) was told they will not be covered because they were purchased from a different provider. Yes they were from a different provider; the provider that you bought his business and customers from! I then call my insurance company to confirm the statement. Surprisingly, found what they are saying to be a lie. When I ask Catherine the manager to speak to someone above her I was told to email corporate. Would not give me a number, just a name of a manager. The manager Catherine there is the worst! Maria is the only good person there in the office part.

Im also a former patient of Dr. Fedor and wish him a happy retirement. My first experience with this new group of people was very good. Doctor Gutman seems very nice and knowledgeable. The staff I dealt with were courteous and pleasant. I would recommend.EDIT: I have to lower my rating. I was told that my glasses would arrive in 3 weeks and asked this to be looked into. After hearing the usual C-19, and now election day delay excuses and after a 15 minute hold from Maria I was transferred to the manager who offered to check into my order for me and call me back. Why Maria would not do this is beyond my comprehension. So while my initial visit exam and purchase went fine, after sale service was horrible, and thus my reason for the lower rating.

Major shout out to this place and Staff. I have not been a patient but sure will be after the awesome experience today. My glasses keep falling off my head because of wearing a mask. I walked into this place and immediately was served and my glasses tightened and adjusted. No questions asked and no fee. Highly recommend

I had my first visit there today with the new ownership and was extremely impressed. I see other reviews stating they are upset about not being notified that Dr. Feder retired and that they are unhappy with the new staff. I completely disagree, his retirement was not the new owner’s responsibility to announce and I believe the new environment is much more welcoming that previously. I will definitely be going back.

I overall had a wonderful experience using Ultimate Spectacle. I have been a patient of Dr Feder for many years and this year I found out he retired and Ultimate Spectacle took over. I was a bit nervous when I heard this, not knowing the staff and what it would be like especially during this pandemic.I was certainly surprised to have a wonderful, friendly, knowlegable optometrist that answered all of my questions. As well as seeing a very familiar, kind, welcoming person by the name of Maria who was patient and so helpful with choosing my frames and lens types. I needed 2 sets of frames one prescription sunglasses and the other everyday prescription glasses. I wanted both to be fashionable. And Maria knew this. She also knew I didnt want something that was plain. Because my glasses are worn all day, every day.It was getting late, I tried approximately 30 pairs of glasses on and I was starting to feel like maybe I should just go home. I could feel the store was closing and I should go. ( I was running late for work). Maria calmly looked at me and smiled. She said whats the matter? Dont be upset. You can still do this. I said can I come back? She put my fears to rest and said sure! We can do this when you are more relaxed. I felt so comfortable with her reassurance. And I came back on the weekend. And I saw Maria again to help me. Right then I was relaxed and ready, it was as if she had the magic touch, she went to the rack and she said try these. I put them on and I said these are going to be my sunglasses! Then she said look these are almost the same but perfect for every day. I said you are right! Within 10 minutes. Relief. I was so happy. Today I picked up my sunglasses. They are colorful and I have to say again Maria helped me try them on. Im so happy that Maria worked with me. She gave me such joy. What a great employee they have. She truly cares. I look forward to picking up my every day glasses. I really like the fashionable glasses Maria showed me, so patiently without rushing me out.The new female optometrist is so knowledgeable and gentle as well. The other staff were friendly. They greeted me on the phone and face to face so kindly. So unfortunately Dr.Fedor has retired and now Ultimate Spectacle took over. I was very disappointed that I did not receive a letter stating that someone else was taking over the business and that he was retiring. I went to drop off my daughters glasses that were broken that I purchased only in March 2020 to find that they may not be able to fix them and that I may have to pay for new lenses at a discounted rate when I have insurance on the frames and it suppose to be covered 100%. The frames the new company have are not as exclusive so you end up losing Regardless if you need to choose new frames. They are very rude and the new Dr. does not greet you. This business will not be the same without Dr.Fedor and I will absolutely not be returning.

I love this place!!! Never wore progressive lenses before, they got it perfect. The staff was friendly and prompt to giving me the best service. Definitely very pleased!!!

Ive been to a lot of eye doctors in my. Time. And I believe he is the best. Honest straight forward and very helpful.. They also have a wide selection of eyeglasses. To choose from. Even if you just choose within your insurance plan

In response to Dominick Gallo. First of all you contradict yourself. During the exam it was found that something was wrong with your right eye. The vision could not be made like your left. A proper referral was given to you for a specialist. Upon your selection of glasses an anti glare coating was offered but you refused. I re examined you to verify the prescription was indeed accurate. I showed you what the issue with your right eye is.You got a poly lens which in your prescription was not that much in difference in thickness than a hi index lens. Also the type of frame you chose that lens was a better fit.So while you’re complaining about your right eye vision by adding all the rest of the extras still doesn’t address the issue. Since we already incurred a lab bill for your glasses, which by the way your insurance company makes and sets the fees (not us), we decided to cut our losses and refund you what you paid before we go ahead and remake them again with all the extras since your issue is NOT the glasses.A thorough exam was conducted, otherwise the pathology would not have been found. You’re in denial of the real issue. I do expect my exam fees be paid to me from the insurance company for doing a thorough job.

I sought out Dr. Feder’s after years of frustration dealing with a large brand name for my eyecare. They were the solution I was looking for! The doctors and staff are very knowledge and friendly to deal with. You can tell they care deeply about their customers and take pride serving them well. First visit with Dr. Feder and his staff after searching for an eye doctor that takes my insurance. The Appt was prompt and the eye exam was thorough and details explained. Dr. Feder explained the exams given and questioned me about previous eye exams and general health. Highly recommend Dr. Feder.

I have been here several times and have been charged for contacts when my insurance covers it. They gave me contacts that wasn’t covered so we had to pay. The receptionists are quite rude and aren’t willing to help. I will not be going back. I don’t recommend going to this doctors.

This doctor did the quickest exam in history less than two minutes for 75 bucks. Then to top it off he gave the incorrect medication for a swollen red eye, the problem which is probably pink eye. If you didn’t know how to diagnose a medical situation doc then refer to someone who knows. 🤡. Seventy five plus forty nine for medication. Thanks NYU though for correct meds.

He is a Wonderful Person and Dr and His Staff has Done their Job Always to The Best of Their Ability ;-))) I have been going to them for 6 years and I look forward to their service for years to come :-)) I hope this helps anyone who may ask and I am Very Protected and Guarded with My Health and Eyes !!!!

Dr. Feder is great, however the receptionist is very nasty. I asked her for my eye glass prescription, she refused to give me the PD, even after explaining I would be ordering them online due to insurance only paying for one or the other. She then ordered the wrong contact lenses. Handed me the contacts in my hand with no solution or a bag. Disgusting.

This was the most terrible experience I ever had at a doctors office. Let me start, Went in for an exam and I was told I needed glasses: But of course.. Picked out my frames and then the tally of cost took place no problem, out of pocket $400.00, no issue I know people who paid alot more, picked up the glasses and I could not see out of my right eye it was blurry and the lenses were sort of conceived, you just need to adjust to them I was told. So after driving home at night seeing blurry I wore these things and guess what the worst headache ever! took them back and explained the focal plain is off, I see halos of light, the glasses were not polished, the lenses were as thick as shot glasses, and I still could not see. It was then explained I could of gotten high index, anti glare and polished edges but since the order was filled with my insurance provider its to late. NONE OF THESE ITEMS WERE OFFERED TO ME ON INITIAL PRESENTATION! NOT MY FAULT!! Ok I will pay out of pocket then have it done no we cant I want a refund then sure no problem.............Here is the thing though this so called Doctors office will not release my benefits now he refunded my out of pocket but he wont release the benefits so now I am Out of Benefits, no glasses and this quack still gets paid .UNACCEPTABLE!! STEER CLEAR FROM THIS THIEF.I was willing to pay they did not care about me one bit .
