My daughter had her first eye exam here. We waited a few weeks so we could get an appointment with the Doctor who is great with kids. Great she was! She made the eye appointment fun. Thank you!
Our family has been a patient for the last 5 years. Although they give excellent face to face service, if you call the universal number trying to contact your specific location, it is very hard to get your message to the right building...this isnβt the first time that I have called trying to order a part have a question,or speak to someone every time I explain to the person answering and after a long hold period I am told the office is too busy to answer the calls so they left a message...I have the part number for my safety glasses and unfortunately they are constantly breaking so I have to have spare parts on hand... I was told every time they will contact me.. I have never had a call back in the few times I tried to call. Itβs easier to just go in for face to face service but at the same time it is difficult with the pandemic and schooling...it would be so much easier to contact the office where you are a client.. the people answering the phones really havenβt been able to help me except for scheduling appointments...
Dr Brown is the best. The office is very clean. Was in and out in no time. Was just there for an appt. on Tues. Thanks to the staff in office for all you do see you all next year.
Hope you dont have an emergency !!! Best then can do is see you in a week to two weeks !!!
The Simon eye in Middletown is not my favorite one. I recently moved from the Bear area and the Middletown is closer to my new address. Went to the appointment with my husband. Eye test went well. Was just called back to get my glasses and the lense werent clean correctly. Not to mention they didnt provide a cloth to clean with. I called them back and they said they dont always supply a cloth it depends on the glasses brand and if i wanted to get a cloth to go back and request one. Well my husband and I got the same glasses brand. He got a cleaning cloth to clean his glasses nothing was in mine. I guess since I already wear glasses I should just use my old cloth to clean these or maybe my shirt will do. Im not impressed with this location... Going back to Bear!!!!
Got a last minute appointment for me and my wife. First time using them. Everything ran smoothly and the people were great. Will be back in the future.
Outstanding office and Doctor. I highly recommend the Rehoboth Beach office...
Yep! Good to Go!!
Will not be going back to this office, my daughter has astigmatism and bright lights bother her eyes when driving at night so we got her a car with tinted windows. When I called during Covid I was told to drop off the form, however I had to wait two weeks until June until the office opened back up only to be told that they dont sign tint waivers. Terrible Communication and Customer Service.
Top-notch doctors and staff all the way around from the time you walk in to the time you leave. I always feel welcome and walk out feeling that the staff really care about me and my eye care. Dr. Brown is always upbeat and fun and ensures my eyes are healthy. A great experience. I wish all medical offices were this attentive and friendly. Thank you.
I have gone here since moving to Middletow. Staff is great. Be. Brown is an excellent doctor
Dr. Gardner is great. He is patient and easy to talk to and understand. The eye exams went well for both of us, I got my glasses. Unfortunately, getting contacts for my husband was totally a different story. When we first walked for our appointments, the receptionist could not find his insurance coverage, and told us we had to pay everything out of pocket. Of course we refused to do that because I called the insurance and made sure it is covered 100% the day before. We asked the receptionist if she can contact the insurance just to double check, she said that was not a part of her job.... it all went down hill from there. My husband got new contacts trails from them, but they were not fitting it right so we had to schedule another short appointment to get new trails. Their schedule was so packed they could not find an appointment that fits his work schedule even though I called a week ahead of time. The choices we were left with were seeing a different doctor, or he had to call off work. It has been three weeks now, my husband could not get an appointment to get new trails. Their contact department was not pleasant to work with at all.
To start with, I had been going to a different eye care provider in middletown before making the choice to switch. I cannot emphasize how impressed I am with this office. The staff are very kind. The receptionist told me that the Dr. Brown was running behind today, so I assumed I would be waiting awhile, but I was only waiting around five extra minutes. When he actually did take me back for the examination, he was very thorough and answered all of my questions. After all that I was taken to one of the ladies that fits your for glasses. I believe her name was Ava, but Im not sure. She sat with me for about 15 minutes just pulling frames out to choose from. She gave her opinion on what she thought looked nice and what she thought didnt. She was honest and helpful. This is the first time Ive left an optometrist with no questions unanswered. This is also the first time Ive gotten a pair of glasses that I dont at all regret getting.Fantastic.
This business never disappoints. Finally had to write a review and share..hopefully those undecided and those new to the area will also make the best decision when it comes to their eyes and thats Simon Eyes here in Middletown! Dr. Brown and staff are beyond reproach in their care. In all the years my family has been treated here, weve never felt rush during any exam by Dr. Brown. He gives you plenty of time to ask questions and to get a great eye exam to get that prescription perfect! Betty and the staff in contacts are so awesome and the orders come in crazy fast! Chelsea in Optical was so great! I love that she gave me honest feedback in choosing a pair of glasses and today; sunglasses! What a fantastic group of folks!
I am so pleased with the level of customer service. Dr. Gardner is amazing. I never feel rushed. You can tell he has passion for what he does. He is honest, caring and he gives me the feeling that you are one of his family members and he wants the best for you. My insurance was running out and his concern was not that I wouldnt have any insurance but he wanted my eye healed and he was going to see me until it was healed. I thank God for him. He is an angel. You will not find many genuine, caring doctors like him in the world. I would recommend this Middletown Simon Eye location to anyone. Its very clean and everyone displays awesome customer service. They truly represent what it means to treat the customer as we expect to be treated and putting the customer first and truly meaning it!
I was able to get an appointment on short notice. Everyone there was pleasant and helpful.
I went there yesterday on my lunch break hoping to make appt. for that evening. They were able to take me right away and was out in exactly an hour.I had an eye exam and got contacts and ordered glasses I LOVE at a very good price.Dr.Brown and all of the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable.I was so impressed with this place!!!!
So friendly and professional. Itβs time to switch my whole family here. A great first time experience. Thank you!
My husbandβs glasses have still not come in and itβs been more than 1 month since his appointment/order date! Delivery date keeps getting moved up and someone has always offered to call the lab and follow up every single time we checked in BUT nothing is happening. This is extremely frustrating and ridiculous.
So here I sit. I need glasses. I live in Middletown, and the logical choice to go is the last place I went... (Simon Eye) I have not been back to get my eyes checked since. Oh, they were helpful... telling me exactly who my Eye Care coverage was through, and telling me what was covered and what wasnt. Only problem they billed the wrong coverage carrier, and after a year of trying to straighten it out, and derogatory comments on my credit report they finally straightened it all out. SO should I do it all over again, after all the headaches and bill collector phone calls, and credit damage, they eventually did admit they made a mistake and corrected everything... Right? No, I do not feel like going through all of that again. If you go here, I suggest you double check their billing. You might get a surprise in a few months down the road.
Quick appointment. Flexible when I wanted to try contacts. Nice and knowledge employees.
Great with kids!!! Friendly staff and doctors! Took my 4 year old which has a hard time staying still and they were awsome with him !! Definitely recommend Simon Eye!!
Dr. Brown is THE BEST!!!! After a routine eye exam, he discovered my son had a rare condition that went undetected for years! He saved my sons life. I am forever grateful.
Stop over at Sears Optical in Dover. They always have great promotions and the staff there is amazing! Right now the have the Buy one get one free sale. I got to get a pair of perscription FREE sunglasses and a pair of prescription Raybans for my regular pair
This is the best place ive ever been to for an eye exam.. they helped me pick out my glasses. everyone treats you so well and theyre all so sweet
Dr. Bradley Gardner is very patient, as I am very nervous about anyone oranything, touching my eyes due to a previous eye injury in my teens.Wonderful customer service from the front desk reception-- great personal attention with over 5 years of visits.
I have been with them for the past five years and they are very customer focused and curteous.
I wish I could give 3 separate reviews, one for the doctor, one for the location, and one for the organization. As for the doctor: 1000 stars! Hands down the best eye doctor Ive ever been to, and Ive been to too many to count. My eye sight is terrible and has been for most of my life, this doctor is the first to get me to see 20/20. I used to get bad headaches from wearing glasses and would mainly stick to contacts even though they bothered my eyes. I found out after seeing Simon Eye that this was because my prescription was never accurate so my eyes were strained. Other doctors also werent receptive of my concerns/questions. The doctor at Simon Eyes (unfortunately I cant remember his name, maybe Kevin Brown?), was incredibly warm, friendly, and accommodating. He listened to any questions I had and quickly and easily got my prescription exactly where it needed to be with little effort. For the location, however, Id give 3.5 stars. Everyone was friendly, and since my mom and I had appointments right after the other, they just went ahead and took us both at the same time. It did take a while to be waited on while picking out glasses, and sometimes I had a hard time finding an associate to help. The real trouble was actually getting our glasses. Mine came right at the tail end of the suggested waiting period. My mothers however, came weeks afterwards. Instead of just being able to get our glasses at the same time, we had to make 2 different trips, which is a bit of a distance for us (were not exactly local, but this location is the closest). They also mixed up my mothers insurance at one point with a relative of ours that shares the same name (but different spelling.) We tried to explain this to them as it happens sometimes, but the first person we talked to wouldnt listen. My main gripe is the organization overall and their business practices. They (the general company, not necessarily the specific location) began harassing me about 6 months after my appointment to make a new appointment. And Im not using harassing arbitrarily. If a person sent me as many phone calls & emails as they did, theyd be arrested for stalking. Im used to getting a couple postcards from the eye doctor or dentist, or even a phone call as a reminder at the year mark. However, I was getting multiple postcards each week, and phone calls starting mulitple times a week extending to almost each day. My insurance, like most these days, only allows me 1 exam a year so there was no need to make a new appointment at the time they were suggesting. The reminders died down a little bit for a few months of ignoring them, but they hit hard again when my 1 year exam approached, around the 10 month mark. Eventually I got a card in the mail letting me know that I had an eye exam scheduled even though I certainly didnt make an appointment myself. I couldnt believe they made an appointment for me without asking my permission first! A couple days later, I got a phone call from the office wanting to go over my insurance for this appointment that I didnt make. Then I got a reminder call about the appointment. When I told the girl that I didnt make an appointment, she got an attitude with me that the appointment was in the system, as if I was lying about not making it. I was also getting flooded with email from them (which were the easiest mode of communication I was able to edit). I dont recall filling out forms that gave them permission to send me pre-appointment reminders, much less so aggressively. Definitely be aware of this when filling out your forms, maybe there is a portion that I didnt notice. But like I said, in 20 years of going to many eye doctors Ive NEVER received this level of contact in between appointments. It just felt intrusive.
These guys are outstanding! Fast, efficient, and always friendly!!
Very nice optometrist! Staff was friendly as well.
Very pleasant and courteous staff.
