The staff is always helpful with my purchase of fishing supplies. Shopping here is a pleasant experience. I have been fishing with their whopper ploppers, frogs, worms, using the Sedona spinning reel on a 6ft. Diawa Arid X. 15lb braided with 10lb fluorocarbon leader.

You can get almost all you outdoor gear here. Personally prefer academy over bass pro. And academies prices all ALWAYS better then the other places. Every time I go in for something small I end up finding other things I didnt know I needed. I get all my fishing gear here. Have bought more the a couple rifles here.

Went in for a pair of tennis shoes and a couple of shirts for my husband. The selection was pretty good and the prices were great. The store is like many other Academys and well organized and clean. During check out the gentlemans name was Bless and he was so kind, helpful and funny. He was very personable and his smile was great! Today it is tough to find kind, and friendly people in retail Bless is the exception! Great job!

Just left this place, and I would be very careful to get employee name when you are getting information on prices. Prices were marked at wrong price and an employee said they would honor the price it said. I went to cashier, and Manger said he will not honor the price didnt even bother to get the employee info and said that he would talk to the employee about this. They need to do a better job to train there employees and also how they do pricing. I wont go here anymore.

Found some football shoes for my son, that was the only thing good. I went through HELL with getting that credit card, that I will not use,will cut it up. The sales clerk was good and courteous, but hades on your card procedures. BOOMER SOONER.

Ive been there for 3 years in a row looking for football helmet achievement stickers and they never have them its kinda annoying but other than that you cant go wrong with em they have had everything Ive ever needed at a fair price

One of the worst gun purchasing experiences we’ve ever had. We chose Academy due to availability and pricing of the .22 revolver that we wanted. Unfortunately we were harassed during the entire purchase over concerns that we were purchasing the firearm for someone else. We considered backing out several times and taking our business elsewhere, however due to everyone being out of stock we reluctantly continued the transaction. I understand Academy being concerned with gun sales, however there are already measures in place to prevent such sales. There is no reason to have multiple staff members approach patrons and question them about why they’re buying it and even going as far as quizzing us on particulars on our ID’s. We will likely never purchase a firearm from Academy again.

Staff is not very helpful here. Seems like they higher teens who dont care much. Store is usually in disarray which makes it difficult to find what Im looking for. Management is a bit rude from my experiences. Door greeter is always nice though.

Was so happy that this academy had an outdoor set back in stock that Ive been wanting since Christmas. The guys unloading the pallet were so helpful and accommodating. If they would have just had my ammo in stock, it would have a win win.

I like academy. I found a great backpack for my son. When we were leaving they left the beeper on the backpack which I personally believe they did because they thought we were stealing. My son & I and another guy was walking out the door when the beeper went off & the guy asked if it was him and the worker said no its them like she knew it was left in our backpack. Its unfortunate that businesses feel the need to target specific groups that are just shopping like everyone else.

Academy sports was on point. I went to Walmart first to get a pet bed and a couple other things and couldnt check out because I had cash three lines open that took cash and 15-20 people waiting academy had one line open and no waiting. Perfect.

It was good, very few people, good selection of shoes and fishing supplies.

My couple complaints are, they need a Better selection of name brand Shoes.. A larger selection of Catfish Rods and Reels, would also be nice.. The Store is nice and clean and lots of Helpful Employees..

This location has a good variety of the items youd expect in a sports and outdoor store. I needed some waterproof boots. There were no visible prices on the shelf nor on the product. Its a good thing that price scanners are readily available. I appreciated that a couple of employees asked me if they could assist. Theres no place in the boot section to try on the boots so I had to go to the shoe dept. One young nice man had a hand scanner and was able to tell me the price on a brand of boots. I made a purchase and the checkout was was fast and courteous with the obligatory offer of an Academy credit card for a few bucks off my purchase. Maybe next time on a pair of Magellan $110 snake boots that are on sale.

Was able to get what I went for and did not have to stand in a long line. They got me out quickly

They have gotten rid of there military discounts because the care for those that had served is only limited to a day a year.

Good all around store but Im mainly hunt and fish, selections can seem limited at times.

Academy has a large selection of outdoors and sports equipment. I can usually find what is needed, but prices arent always marked well. Customer service is fine and prices are usually decent, depending on what youre purchasing. Shoes are very economical here and Ill shop here again.

Had to exchange pair of shoes for my granddaughter and no longer had the receipt and they were very accommodating.We also shop here for sports equipment.Love it.

I was greeted at the door which was nice change however needed more cashiers.

Found just what I was looking for, and it was less expensive than all the other stores that didnt. Plus foubd some great deals on stuff that I wasnt looking for but glad I did.

Needed a new pair of running shoes. Found the exact same pair. Got them 20 bucks cheaper this time. Customer service was pretty good. My visit was at 830am. In and out service. Winner.

Not much left in the fishing dept. They have hard body and soft lures, some hooks and a few weights. Was looking for a deep sea reel for serious catfish. Nothing large enough for what I needed. But I did buy a few hooks and some weights. Wasnt a total waste of time. Checked on some .40 caliber rounds, and like everyone else, didnt have any.

Loved this place day time skating is the best. Turn in to a junior club on weekends 🌙

Great prices on boating and fishing items. Guns and ammo are in short supply, but hopefully thats only temporary. I love shopping here.

People in footwear dont know how to put away ladders, which become a safety hazard for any curious small child. The guys behind the gunbar are always 110% helpful and want to help. DJ over in fishing is a character, just go chat with him for a while and youll learn that. Anna in apparel does a great job at helping you find whatever youre looking for and cleaning up. Need to hire more people like her. Apparel is consistently messy. Some weights werent locked down recently, this also being a safety hazard. Customer service is really only good in the hunting and dishing departments. Everywhere else it seems like they are put out by you asking something.

Unless you already cleared your NICS background check, dont bother trying to purchase a weapon there...they dont honor the 3 day release, they run out a full 30 days...if you hold a PRC from Canada, theyll tell you the long clearing time is b/c of Canads strick gun laws and that you have to clear an Interpol check and, if after the 30 days, you arent cleared, they dont call as they promise they would and just return the weapon to the manufacturer...all in all, just a major waste of your time

Whats not to love about an outdoors store? Even if the employees were rude and not helpful its still an outdoors store. Leave your wife at home, grab that secret stash of cash you have hidden and go buy some hunting gear. You know that big buck walked past your stand this morning while you were at home listening to your wife nag about the honey do list.

Academy sports + outdoor,Worst experience picking up an order. Horrible communication among their workers. Took them now more than an hour to give us our trampoline. Different excuse where given from each worker.

Found what we were looking for, but customer service was horrible. No acknowledgment what so ever. Of course they werent busy, so whats the excuse?

Update 3/31/18. Now that Im boycotting anti-American rights stores, Academy has more of my business. Other sporting good stores, that are anti 2nd Amendment, have lost me as a customer.Good prices, Happen to have what we needed in the football section. Store was kinda messy though.

I found it a bit low on enventory! Looks like it hasnt been stocked in a year. But other than a few bare shelves they had what I went in for. The customer service was awesome and the store was clean.
