In our experience, very good at selling, but very poor at standing behind their equipment. We purchased a Cub Cadet mower and had problems with the belt breaking from the first days and they would not take the lemon back. Not only that - through the years of trying to keep the (riding) mower running we have gone through over a dozen belts and repairs to the mower that we originally paid $3500.00 for. Milton Rental did not offer to compensate us for one belt or repair. We reached a point of absurdity recently when they did service on the mower (0ver $800) and then the belt broke within 20 minutes of use. When we asked them to take it back and repair it they now want $350 to get the mower back to us. We have asked to speak with someone at the company who could consider our situation and spoke to Todd - who was professional and polite - but never did anything to help solve the problem. We have been very disappointed with Milton Rental and Sales so many times. We do not recommend them.

Let’s start with the good.  They had my snow blower back to me in 4 days.  They assisted my wife with loading it, from the loading dock into the truck when she went to pick it up.They are listed as a Cub Cadet authorized service center, and closest to my home, about 30 minutes away.  I called the store on the phone to ask about warranty work.  They advised I can drop it off.  When I arrived, I reiterated that my snow blower was about a year old and should be covered under warranty.  The gentleman at the counter advised that since I didn’t purchase the product from their store, he arrogantly stated that they wouldn’t honor the warrant.  When I questioned it, he said they don’t have to honor the warranty if they don’t want to.  Both, due to being during a VT winter, and not wanting to waste the 1 hr round trip, I reluctantly left it with him.My snow blower has been breaking 2-3+ shear pins with each use.  In addition, the auger appears to run at high speed, yet when encountering any significant volume of snow, it is unable to handle it and frequently clogs.  $86 later and a new belt (which I easily could have replaced myself but know there is something both additionally and significantly wrong with it), they claimed it was complete.  Even though they changed the auger belt, they didn’t bother cleaning the pulley’s or tensioner. Both of which are caked up with fibers (which I assume are from the previous belt), and burnt rubber.  The problem, as I anticipated, still exists.I recently moved here onto my first property with acreage.  There is a lot of equipment that I will be needing to both purchase and/or rent.  Needless to say, they lost a future customer due to their poor attitude, shoddy work, and garbage policy of not doing warranty work on equipment purchased elsewhere.

Highly recommend. MRS has always met my needs and been very competitive on pricing. The rental equipment is well maintained and the service dept is extremely knowledgeable and stands behind their work. They have been my go to for more than 20 yrs. Thank you to the whole team there!

I deal with milton rental everyday for my employer and couldnt ask for better customer satisfaction. Always willing to go the extra mile and they have an amazing technician shop great at repairs. I wish more rental companys would be like this place

Always satisfied with the staff and excellent service. I agree with the companys policies on service work. If you buy a piece of equipment at Lowes and get the best price and it breaks, why should Milton Rental or any other locally owned shop be on the hook for the purchase you did not make there? Warranty work on equipment is marginally priced at best. Why give up a $150 repair on a loyal customers equipment and do the warranty work for $50 on someone who bought the low price equipment at Lowes? Loyalty is key!! It is often an expensive lesson to learn

Both Doug and Matt are great to deal with. They are a locally owned small business so yes sometimes you need to wait on hold for a little longer, or stand in the showroom for a little bit, but the service they provide is in the long run is well worth waiting for. They stand behind there products and there service department is great to work with. If your looking to be treated well and taken care of as a lifetime customer come see the guys at Milton Rental and you will be taken care of.

I wish I could give less stars. These guys are rude and way under staffed. The phone rings constantly all day and no one answers or when they do answer they put you on hold for 10 minutes. I just purchased a lawnmower for over $6000 they assured me would be waiting at my house no later than the following Friday and they would communicate with me as to what time as the delivery day arrived. When I called to confirm the Friday delivery they said oh we didnt want to sit on hold waiting for other dealers to see if they had one so we just ordered you one direct from cub cadet so its not going to be in for another week. Not a huge deal had at anytime someone communicated this change in plan, but there was absolutely no communication. So with a simple phone call and my frustrations could have been avoided. I also dropped off equipment to be serviced which they said would be done in a week and would call when its done. Its now been two weeks since I dropped it off and since I hadnt heard anything I decided to call (since they didnt call before I figured they had forgotten) after two attempts to call and the phone just ringing and ringing and ringing someone finally answered and after i explained said if no one called you then its not done and just sat there in silence. They didnt check or even ask my name. I have to say this place SUCKS and if I could cancel my lawn mower order I would. i bought from Milton Rental because I wanted to support local and have a machine that could be serviced locally. I assure you no matter what I will be looking for service and parts ANYWHERE but MIlton Rental in the future. I HIGHLY recommend Exit 18 Equipment as they are far superior in every area of business that matters to customers.

We came in here looking for a specific chainsaw, but we ended up talking to one of the guys working who was extremely helpful. He had a lot of information about all the chainsaws, and chainsaws in general. I thought he gave us very honest reviews and opinions on what particular models and bar lengths would work well for our uses. It was very personalized, no pressure service that I doubt wed have been able to get from a big box store. Once we decided on one he got it started and added gas to it so it was all set and ready to go when we got home.

Called Milton rental looking for a tow behind lift, was on hold for several minutes as Matt checked on availability.... Then the price he quoted was $50 more than the going rate... I guess they would rather see the lot full of equipment than rented out for a fair and reasonable rate.

As a professional arborist, I depend on a chainsaw retailer with highly knowledgeable staff. I have purchased multiple chainsaws, many bars and chains from Milton Sales and Rental over the past 12 years. I have never had a problem.The other reviewers seem to have really complicated and obscure problems. It would be really hard for anyone to solve.

VERY disappointed in the customer service here. My father purchased a brand new Troy Bilt lawn mower from our local Lowes, it broke down the other day and wouldnt start. I called Troy Bilt and was given this number to call for service. I called and asked to speak with someone and was told we dont do service work for box stores we cant help you. When asked where I could call I was told to call the box store I purchased it from. I called back again Wednesday in hopes to be pointed in some direction on where I could get service, I was told again that because I purchased from a box store and not yours they couldnt help me there to call CCR. I apologize I didnt purchase a mower from you, however thats not a good way to gain business. Had I been helped chances are I would have returned as a customer for service needs or even to purchase another new mower as we are now looking to buy a new push mower. Thankfully after a few attempts I was able to find someone to help me (Exit 18 Equipment) and the mower is running again (funny when someone actually has knowledge of a product and they actually listen to a customer regardless of if they bought it from you or not, they can actually help you fix it in 5 mins over the phone). I highly suggest changing the way your potential new customers are being treated. Unfortunately your company will now be my very last resort.

Decent people work here, but was very dissapointed when a hose blew on a Wacker excavator and they didnt have the parts to fix it. I dont want to be a jerk, but if your selling equipment as an authorized Wacker dealer, renting Wacker excavators shouldnt you have the ability to fix one of the most common type of repairs? Instead they sent me to Beauregards who are case /kobelco dealership nearby.

Rents equipment, nothing special havent had any problems yet. Im a homeowner and Ive been going here for 7 years when I need special tools I dont have our can afford I rent them here.

I dropped off two mower blades on Monday was told they be ready Wednesday gave them an extra day stopped in on Thursday they were already stopped in on Friday they still werent ready I said I need them for the weekend and they finally did them I do not know why you overpromise and under deliver that is not how you build business with customers

I would never go back and deal with these people. The guy behind the counter couldnt even figure out, what attactments fit what tractor, and they are a cub cadet dealer !!!!! I will deal with anyone but them in the future, and I would never recommend them to anyone.
