Always a great place to shop on a budget fast and friendly customer service and always clean and stocked
Amazing selection of food and even a non-food section of kitchen supplies in the back. Full freezer section, small produce section with a lot of variety, small fresh seafood counter, large junk food section and entire back section of store devoted to dry goods. Dry section has everything from sauces, oils, dry noodles, preserved foods, and drinks. Good prices as well for all products.
It was a great place it was easy to find things and clean store.
Awesome people and always on stock on multiple asian and ethnic foods and goods. Highly reccomend Chu Hai Oriental Market as Ive been a loyal customer here for years.
Chu Hai has everything that I need to cook Ackee (canned) and Saltfish (Bacalao Cristobal brand) or fried Snapper...Awesome.
Mmm...good
This is a nice little niche market. Has a lot of oriental stuff I use for cooking. Also has a small butcher shop. I like the fresh veggies where I can pick up my bean sprouts for cooking. Much cheaper and fresher than the bean sprouts in other stores. Has a small frozen goods aisle where it looks like they carry a lot of different fish and weird stuff. There is also frozen shrimp. There is a huge amount of different rice in small to large bags. I enjoy this store as I can get things here that you cant get at your typical store. Need soy sauce they have a good selection. The only place I found that carries the dark soy sauce needed for fried rice. Try it if you never have but go slowly as it is very potent. Prices are as expected for a small store but not rip you off prices. They are reasonable.
My wife absolutely loves shopping here. They have a very good selection even though the store is small. They have items you cant find at the other oriental markets, not sure what items, but that is what my wife always tells me.Now its harder to shop there, the city decided to make money off people by making a no parking area right in front of the stores. I was talking to a police officer that was writing a ticket for a car parked in front of Chu Hai, telling her the signs were new, and she lied, telling me they were always there, NO, they werent, weve been going there for 11 years. It really sucks that the city of Milwaukee cant help the small businesses, even sadder still that they go out of their way to hurt small businesses.
They had alittle bit of everything ...
Very nice I like the people that work there very clean
Excellent
Wonderful products. Owner is so helpful. Love this store
This is the place for people who cook oriental food daily, for whom it is comfort food. Here are your 5lb any 50lb bags of all kinds of rice at retail prices: not boutique prices. Here is where you get fresh lemon leaves, and a dozen duck eggs, and oriental junk food and fast food and make-it-from-scratch food. Here is where I get 5 different kinds of frozen pot-stickers in a family-sized bag.
Great selections for food and meats. If your jamaican or from the islands, or African and need spices meats certain items from homeland this place may have it. Fresh Red Snapper fish, Jute leaves, ackee, etc. The Owners are very nice people as well
Great prices! And always friendly smiles.
Marvelous. Always friendly. My siblings, and myself sit and wait for takeout. Within 15 minutes we have our food. Cooking area is very clean and we get to observe the cooking and packaging.
Good product availability. Unfriendly customer service. Prefer robot over non engaging nonchalant human
Had all my favorite things, and really good vegetables. It is very well organized, clean, and stocks a wide variety of ingredients. It is the only place in Milwaukee I have been able to get organic chestnuts.
I love having a neighborhood oriental market and their prices are very reasonable.
Small quaint grocery store to get the main minimal items like cilantro, green onions, sauces, dry goods, and rice, etc. It does have a small area for meats like chicken, beef, pork, and some seafood. However, if youre looking for more variety of foods then go to the bigger Asian stores in the community.
This asian market looks small but it does have the essentials. I especially like their meats, usually very fresh. You can ask the store owner to cut porkchops to your desired thickness. However, the cashiers attitude needs to improve. Shes usually unfriendly and grumpy. Makes my shopping experience unpleasant. Thats why Im giving it 3 stars.
Please keep your business hours updated more often on here or on facebook (if you have one) so we donβt have to jam your phone line or to make a trip there & then find out you closed your store for some reason.Thanks.
Just like with a lot of other Asian businesses, this particular store seems to know nothing about about customer service. I bought a 50 pound rice that was $37.99 (as marked on the shelf), the cashier kept saying it was $40.99. We kept going back and forth over 5 times. We told her to go back and look at the tag but she wouldnt, then I asked if she was trying to cheat me. Then the owner lady comes to the front and she also seemed mad that we were arguing with her cashier. When we finished ringing up, the owner lady nor the cashier apologized, even though we were right about the price. So, if you go there, just make sure to triple check the price because they will ring it up at whatever price they think it is.
Friendly owners. Good selection of Vietnamese groceries.
Has foods for the everyone including the International community. You can make it a one stop shopping.
Weve been here many times. The owners are friendly. Very good selection.
They sold me a drink claiming that my son would be fine drinking it, and he threw up after drinking it. They sold me a bottle of Scotch Bonnet pepper sauce, and it had a crusty substance around the part where the cap screws on to the bottle like it had already been opened and used even though the the safety seal was still in tact.
Love this store! Fresh bean sprouts here are the best!
