The experience was terrible starting with the fact that our simple drinks (sprite and a French soda and apple juice) came after the food. Service was terrible, the entire experience took about 2+ hours for a small family of 3. No kids items. Soggy fries and tots as pictured. Not the same spot it used to be quality and dining experience wise. I regret driving all the way from prior lake to find out my favorite salmon salad is also no longer available either.
The only thing that stood out was good table service. She was engaging and appropriately attentive. The food was ok, but disappointing. Abbreviated menu of essentially bar food, and not very well made. Then, went to sit at the bar and bartender was unwelcoming, didn’t know how to make drinks. Overall just not a good experience for the money. Way, way, way downhill from what it was in the past.
One of the places we always look forward to eating at! Gouda hashbrowns are the best!! Staff is always attentive and cheerful, our server Collin today was especially friendly. Excellent coffee is always a bonus! Great pace of service, even during busy Saturday brunch rush.
Its hard to beat the design of this place. Its so unique. I tend to eat inside by the fireplace. They introduced me to nitro coffee, and I still drink that when Im there. They also have these killer nachos. Not sure if that matches the Victorian vibe, but that wont stop me from ordering it.
One of my favorite Minneapolis spots. For breakfast, lunch, snack or just a quick beverage, you can’t beat the scenery of old Saint Anthony. Afterwards, explore northeast Minneapolis or walk across stone arch to see the old mill ruins.
What an excellent experience!!!! Hailey was our server and she was such a joy! She helped my girlfriend and I find the perfect combination of sides and desserts for an experience that will have us coming back. Food was delicious! Definitely finish off with gelato!
Great coffee menu and signature lattes! This is a great place for a celebration brunch or just because its Sunday brunch. I have tried numerous items on the menu but the eggs Benedict keep me coming back! The staff is friendly and welcoming also! Great outdoor patio for when the weather is nice!
Poor service and product. Besides the flickering lights on the interior you’ll feel while you drink your coffee, there is no consistency of policy or procedure by the staff. You will be neglected and bullied by each staff member’s own interpretation of a backwards policy. Would not recommend to anyone. After being a regular, living in the area, I will no longer look to this place as an adequate option. The wait and food is not worth your suffering. Coffee here is poor too.
Wilde is such a charming restaurant. If you stop by for brunch, Id highly recommend the hot maple benedict (chicken on eggs benny?? Yes please). Their coffee is also great!
This place is beautiful, sit on the patio or inside and youll be happy youre there. I miss the calamari, but the duck fat french fries are killer too.
Great location, lovely sights, only negative is because there was not great sun coverage or umbrellas so we were roasting in the sun. Also - dont go for the cheesy hashbrowns, not the best, but the smoked salmon toast was excellent!
We had a fantastic waiter who was very attentive, funny, and smart. He got our confusing orders correct. And the salad that I got with poached eggs on the side was absolutely delicious. I particularly loved the goat cheese and the 3 types of dressing that I got.Plus, the view is fantastic. You can watch people biking, walking their dogs, scootering, and roller skating around the river area.
Amazing staff, went above and beyond, super friendly and great atmosphere 😊
Fun restaurant in Minneapolis with good food selection, friendly staff, outdoor seating, and complimentary dessert if it’s your birthday. Interior decor is classical with peacock pillars- overall a tad strange. The chicken and waffles, while overall good flavor, could have been improved if served with a butter spread and if the chicken was less tough. Delicious fries and tots. The banana creme brûlée was worth returning for.
Do not cater from here. Ordered box lunches 12 hours prior to pick up since the order form said allow 2 hours. It actually said that on the order form! So, I thought I gave them plenty of lead time. Called last night to see if the order went through and no one there was able to get into the email order system, only the manager. Called this morning and was told, We need three days for catering orders. I said the form says 2 hours. We need to update that. Sorry, bye.Sorry, wont recommend
Horrible service. We waited for over an hour just to get a salad and a piece of flatbread. Waitress was rude, unattentive and pretty much ignored us.
Heads up this place requires reservations only according the the host. We called at 11am to ask if there was a wait the host on the phone proceeded to tell me no there is no wait at this time but that is subject to change. When we got there 30 minutes later the couple before us was sat and we were told only reservations are allowed at this time we told him about the phone call and he replied its for the kitchen. What they dont tell you over the phone or posted clearly on their website is that they need a reservation at all times. Why would you not mention that it reservations only when we called im not sure we drove a ways oh well heard the foods good. Wont find out forsure today because of the poor and inconsistent communication by the host and zero information on the website.
Wilde Cafe & Spirits seems to have had a hard time recovering from COVID. Weve been going there for 10+ years (old location too) and the service has been slow, the food frequently off, and the prices too high to justify the overall dining experience. We patronized Wilde during COVID and were willing to overlook and tolerate issues. Not sure how frequently we will be going back.
I was greeted by a friendly hostess when I walked in. The restaurant wasnt very busy at first and quickly filled up. I ordered a salad with salmon, which took a bit longer than expected to prepare. While the salmon had good flavor, it was highly over cooked for my taste. Additionally, I thought the prices were high for what I received as it was about $25 dollars for the salad with salmon.
The food was ok, once fixed. We had crab cake Benedict and regular Benedict. The yolks came out solidly overdone and hard.We asked the server if we can get medium runny eggs. After she rolled her eyes and argued why I didnt want the rock hard eggs she took them and eventually brought some that were ok.The service for that day was not good, but in past times they have been very nice. The indoor decor is classic and unique. The outdoor patio is great people watching. They do have house made gelato and coffee. Im not a fan of gelato in general but people seem to love it.
One of my favorite spots in the city. The Wilde Café is so friendly and welcoming, with a really great atmosphere. You can eat outside and enjoy people-watching on Historic Main Street, be seated inside at a comfortable and atmospheric dinner table, or just hang out in the more casual café/bar-style section at the front of this restaurant. Whenever were there, people are friendly and chatty, customers as well as staff. It just seems like the kind of place where people go when theyre in a good mood. If you go, be sure to try the sweet potato fries with marshmallow dip. They are absolutely to die for! They also have a great selection of cocktails, local tap beers, and espresso drinks. Plus, gelato!
I got the rib dinner ($19.99) and crispy fish and chips ($14.99). The ribs were tender but bland. The gravy really helped give it flavor. The potatoes and Brussel sprouts that came with were well cooked but also bland. The second dish only came with two fish sticks and thats pretty little for the price you have to pay. Overall food was OK and you can definitely get your moneys worth elsewhere.
Wonderful atmosphere and a St. Anthony Main classic! I frequently studied here on Sunday mornings and it is the coziest location ever. Their brunch is good - the eggs benedict is best. You can ask to add whisky to their hot cider (similar to a hot toddy) and it will warm your soul. Really neat location, but gets busy on the weekends, so plan ahead!
Pretty disappointing, not a place to bring your kids apparently. We made a reservation for breakfast and they told us they lost it, and instead of accommodating us we were told instead they simply wouldnt seat us, even though 2/3rds of the tables were wide open.
Have a nice patio. Decent food but very limited menu. Unapologetically slow and inattentive service.
Great atmosphere, great food, great drinks. Definitely a new favorite here in the city.
Hard 3 at the very most, incredibly average. Imagine Perkins but with the music and ambiance of mid 50s New York. And expect to pay mid $50s for such a pleasure.
This is currently my favorite breakfast spot in the Minneapolis area. They have smoked Gouda has browns that are consistently good. The cornmeal pancakes are the best pancakes I have had in the Twin Cities, and they are ample in size. Ive dined here multiple times and always have been happy with the quality of the food and the consistency in food and service.
It was nice to finally eat out (covid-19 restrictions). Food was tasty and well prepared.Service was quick and accommodating. Friendly and attentive. Restrictions only allow outside seating but their patio had a large covered area so the rain did not ruin the experience.Location is also very unique. Just off the river and very quiet area.Great experience and well visit again.
Vegan wings are fantastic.
I’m okay with five stars.
Terrible experience. I ordered a regular omelet and I got an all egg white omelet with zero flavor. I couldnt even eat it it was so bad.The server blamed me and told me I had to specify if I wanted it made with regular eggs. The menu did not say it was egg white only. The people next to us had to have their eggs remade too. I was offered to have it remade but I had an appointment to get to and didnt have time to wait for another meal to cook. Complete waste of $50. Left still hungry.
Great riverfront location with a variety of menu items made from fresh ingredients. Fun cocktails and other beverages. Outdoor dining provides a scenic setting and plenty of foot and bike traffic to watch.
Very bad experience from the moment we walked in- the hostess was MIA, when she finally came to help us she asked if we had reservations, we told her that we had called 3 hours ago and the person who answered the phone told us we didn’t need one. She said oh, she did not know what to say..By the way, this place was not busy to had have to make reservations.THE WHOLE PLACE HAVE NO COSTUMER SERVICE SKILLS.
We entered into a smartly decorated space. The employees all treated us well with prompt service. We arrived right at 11 am Monday morning - right at the cut off for breakfast and they still let us order breakfast. What a relief! Because, we would have walked out and went some where else. The Farmers breakfast was a hearty and well prepared meal that came to our-table with efficiency, and reasonable priced for the quality of ingredients, and the expert preparation. My over easy eggs where perfectly prepared with a runny yolk that broke by my fork! The Gouda in the hash-browns was a good-a! The Eggs & ham seemed like good quality animal products (coming from a guy who shops at the co-op.) I liked the fact the ham was put on a open flame grill before serving - yet it was still tender, juicy, and with good flavor.
The fantastic view of cobblestone streets, the finals on bridge, a nice walk about after dinner and craft cocktails. Friendly, attentive staff. Great food!
Haiku review: Its on the river. Service has always been great. Spendy but tasty.
Not a big fan of the crab cakes
Breakfast was so good.
Lovely patio setting, charming and attentive waiter, extremely delicious and satisfying meals for each of us (at brunch). Would have been 5 stars... However we called ahead and made a reservation and requested the patio. They took our reservation but did not mention the patio could not take reservations. Then when we arrived they said it would be a 20 minute wait. We inquired after 20 minutes and they said it would be another 5 minutes because the server needed some time. Sure... After 5 minutes we seated ourselves at the table that had been cleared the entire time. We waited for 50 minutes for our food to arrive, with my extremely patient toddler and not as patient (very hungry) teenager. We arrived at 11:30 and did not eat until 1:15. The two women seated near us waited an hour. Go for cocktails or a long, lazy afternoon and eat before you go. Expect an unreasonable wait for great food.
Sunday morning brunch at Wilde Cafe was relaxed and had a significant menu of really good-looking offerings. Staff was friendly and the space felt very welcoming with tall cushioned chairs near the windows and plenty of space between tables. Come here for a quality meal, stay for a while, and take in the view of downtown from St. Anthony Main.
Historic Main Street. Along the Mississippi River. Good food. Great view
Nice place, great atmosphere.
The atmosphere is great and the service was awesome. I am vegan and there werent many food options for me. I got the hummus plate that was INCREDIBLY oily and toast w/jam. Id love it if they decreased the oil and let the flavor come from the amazing herbs on the flat bread and whatever else is in the hummus. If I didnt hate wasting food I probably wouldnt have eaten it.
Very good food and service! The Gouda hash is a great side.
I took a group of friends here at the beginning of what was going to be a long evening. The cafe/restaurant combination worked very well for us as we had some people that werent interested in ordering an entire meal and others who were quite hungry. Really thankful for the way the restaurant was divided up like that, and this was a fun place to hangout. This was awhile ago, so I hope it still is that way.
Quiet. Good vibes. Anything I ever order is up to par. Often go there. Recommend. Especially in winter! Cozy!
The only decent thing I can say was that the food was pretty good. That being said, the food seemed pretty overpriced, $16 sandwiches and $13 for a flatbread (basically a small pepperoni pizza). Flatbread doesnt come with a side, and thats another $5.Im not sure if it had anything to do with being outside, but service was pretty lackluster especially considering what youre paying. It was not especially busy (walked in with no reservation, empty tables nearby), with long stretches of time between the waitress stopping at our table. Only came by once a few minutes into the meal to switch drinks, didnt see her until we paid. Had to flag down a different waitress to leave.
We just love this place! Super tasty food -- the crab cakes are hands down the best Ive ever had. The mac n cheese is awesome too. We love bringing our pups to sit out on the patio when the weather is nice.
Good food and service. Very nice outdoor seating area.
Wilde Cafe is often the place to stop in for some ice cream, but do try out their American fare!I hosted a post-engagement social here, for my friends and family to soak in the joy, and it turned out great! Though a bit understaffed for a party of two dozen with a reservation, our host took care of us from gluten free and vegan food to champagne toasts! The food was great, the cocktails spot on, and the space was large. I would definitely go back for a large party occasion again.
Went to Wilde Spirits with a group of coworkers for an after work dinner. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was awesome and so were the craft cocktails. I definitely recommend the Gilligans Island and their famous mac n cheese. Would love to go again the next time Im in Minneapolis.
This is an elegant venue - perfect for a special occasion. It is quiet and classy. The culinary expertise is first rate. You have to try the crab cakes!
The atmosphere on the patio is the best and waitresses are professional. The bete noir cake is satisfying rich. Always a pleasure and relaxing
One of my favorite afternoon and evening dining. Great coffee and mixed drinks and the food is always satisfying. The patio is great in the summer and the fireplace is awesome on cold winter nights. Do not miss the gelato bar!
The wait tine and the too-cool-for-school attitude of the hostess left a lot to be desired. The brunch food options were great but the experience was greatly overshadowed by the less than appealing staff. There are a million places to brunch in Minneapolis, put this place on the bottom of the list.
Phenomenal food. Great service. Loved the patio. Felt super comfortable with covid. Well be back!
Great little place, we like it for quick bites or dessert before or after events. It has full espresso/cappuccino, bar and dessert service along with some decent menu items.Cool decor, accessible, great St. Anthony on main views from the patio.
Excellent food! My family dined here for their weekend brunch and everyone enjoyed their meal. The highlight was the caramel French toast. It’s stuffed with peaches and cherries and topped with whipped cream - it was amazing and I typically am not a big fan of French toast. Our server was friendly and quick with refills and our check. It’s located along St. Anthony main with good views if you dine on the patio. The only reason I did not rate this 5 stars was the lack of vegan options.
We usually like the Wilde Cafe but the service on this day was the worst we have ever experienced here. Not sure what their issue was but Im not sure well go back any time soon. I have to digest this train wreck first.
Very cool & fun cafe. If you have a dog, you can bring them & can eat on the patio. Very very good food. The view from the inside & outside is wonderful & spectacular. There is a ton you can do around the area as well. You have to go & try it! They even have gelato!!
My wife and I enjoyed a Sunday brunch outside the restaurant along the street and we people watched as we leisurely chatted. City parking is available. The bar code the waitress gave us did not work. I suspect she knew it wouldnt. My wife had the Sausage Mushroom Strata and I had the Chi Chi LaRue burger. Both were very good. Viewing the Fall colors from our table and the warm sunshine was a nice way to relax.
Been here a few times before and had great experiences; however tonight there was a limited menu which was not advertised well (we thought it was the full menu) and prices were jacked up $3 on a lot of items. Service was slow but could have been under staffed. Not the worst experience but definitely disappointing after some good experiences...
I LOVE this place. The gelato is the star, while they have familiar flavors like cookie dough and blackberry, they also have unique flavors like basil, Rose, and strawberry black pepper. I travel all the time and hands down, the best. I come here every time Im in Minneapolis.
Favorite breakfast spot ♥️🖤 always cozy in the winter and they have a great little patio in the summer. Large menu and they have a cafe if you just want to pick up a coffee
Every time I go I grab a new item to try and NEVER disappointed. Everything is perfection, including their new lattes (maple syrup and cinnamon latte, yes please!)
The food at Wilde Café is delicious. The staff are helpful and friendly. The ambience is perfect for anything from dinner with the parents to drinks with friends. They have a covered patio overlooking a park and the Mississippi. The chicken and waffles are a guilty pleasure I’ll go back for. Enjoy!
Had a really wonderful experience here! Our food was really fantastic, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and the atmosphere of the restaurant. I had a Golden Girl cocktail, Rose, and it was absolutely delicious. Ill definitely be coming back!
Food was great. Four cheese Mac and cheese was creamy and delightful. Fish and chips was a little above pub quality, but the sauce served with the fish was phenomenal. Also wonton nachos were outta this world, what a fun spin on nachos. Had a great time in their patio along the river paths.
Excellent breakfast. Eggs Benedict with Gouda hash browns. Service was perfect!
We sat on the patio yesterday. It was beautiful, but our server kept forgetting about us. My husband got up once and asked for water. All three of our glasses were completely empty. Then we asked for more water and she never came back again. My steak was medium well and I asked for medium rare. I did eat everything else on my plate, it was delicious. But when she presented the bill my steak add on charge was still there. Again we asked for water. She took the steak off the bill and presented the bill again. I had to ask for my drink that I ordered 10 minutes ago.....she said oh ya I will get that. Awful service!! Food was great. Maybe they just put the bad servers on the patio, beware!!
The nachos were OUTSTANDING. Easily the best nachos Ive had in my life. The atmosphere and service were also excellent.
