I and my husband are so impressed with this place. The baristas had an amazing work ethic and were super helpful and friendly. I messed up my order a bit and they exhibited amazing customer service. My oat milk latte had awesome taste and froth, and they do substitute milks for free! The atmosphere was cozy and clean, and the music was actually really nice too. Spyhouse is just awesome in every respect.

Went on a recommendation from a friend. Got the iced caramel latte which was divine and tasted so good with a chocolate croissant. The staff was very friendly.

Ive been here twice. Every time I have paid $8 for a coffee, and every time the coffee has tasted worse than something I could get at mcdonalds. Their vanilla must be tasteless because even with an extra shot it tasted like nothing, and I think the beans must have been burnt because thats the taste I get this time. Burnt coffee. My friends tried it and agreed it tastes vaugly like soy sauce. Next time Ill just walk the extra block and get something that actually tastes good for $2

Awesome customer service! I heard good things about Spyhouse, so I checked them out while in town. I bought some beans and asked the baristas to grind them for a stovetop/moka pot. They didnt know what that was and therefore didnt know how fine to grind the beans, but they figured it out and were so committed to making sure they did it right. And the coffee I made with those beans?? Soooo yummy!! The Ethiopian beans - absolutely delicious! I will definitely get more when I can.

First time at spy house. Staff was very friendly and speedy. The coffee is amazing. One of the best cups of coffee Ive ever had. Atmosphere is great, calming and relaxing. Very good with covid guidelines and social distancing, even with it not being a large space.

Great, comfy place to chat over coffee or work on laptop. There is wifi but only a few spots with outlets if you need to charge a phone, etc. Tried the Caramella and it was perfect! Not too sweet and the temp was on point to drink right away! Will definitely be back and highly recommend.

SUPER RUDE, not a friendly environment what so ever. They are comfortable coming up to you and raising their voice at you. and when you speak to a manager the same employee who is rude interrupts. WHAT!!!!!!!! i have that Starbucks is closed and the library.

Great lattes and pastries! However, this location is randomly closed some days without notice. I just walked there today (a Wednesday) at 10am and they were closed. There are many other coffee shops in the area with consistent hours.

Great hanging out type coffee shop. Free WiFi. Not as much of a macchiato factory as Starbucks is. Located near the MIA art museum which has a good Martin Luther exhibit going on right now that our family came to visit. Well worth it! This was a fun expedition for a suburban family that was an enjoyable weekend afternoon

The environment is unique and the prices are just a little under what you would find at a Starbucks or Caribou Coffee. Overall this place is pretty cool and definitely worth checking out!Also, the Wi-Fi is a below-average speed on the 2.4Ghz band but 50+ Mbps on the 5Ghz band, nice!

Very bad customer service. Roaches crawling all over the ceiling and a rat jumped out of my coffee. There were too many white people in this establishment. I am being jumped by the owner as I write this.

Went here to go study for exams, it’s a great environment and has a nice aesthetic, definitely gauged more to younger people. The employees and coffee were great the only complaints that I have is that the coffee shop was very loud and busy and the food was a little pricey.

I love this cafe! The Spygirl Latte is my go-to.

Their specialty coffees feature some floral flavors, which are personal favorites of mine. During COVID they were limiting people in the building. Service was quick and friendly. No complaints from me. Ill be going again.

Spyhouse has long been one of my favorite coffee shops! their beans are delicious, their atmosphere is great, and the baristas are what make it a great place to get coffee.however, union busting is disgusting! spyhouse employees deserve to have their union recognized and I will not be visiting spyhouse until the union is either recognized or voted for. shameful.

This is a coffee shop overrun by single people taking up each table for hours working from a laptop. The place is ok, but not spectacular enough to wait a long time for a table.

I have been in 2451 Nicollet ave branch today 06/23/20. I have experienced bad customer service with vey rude employee. She does not deserve to work there. It’s so hard to understand why she was acting that. I paid the coffee and even paid tip. Any it’s up to them to deal with her. I will take my money to somewhere else.

Hip coffee. Mostly light roasts, espresso is very acidic, which if your into Is good.

It is their 20th anniversary and happened that I was 20th costumer of the day I got my order for free. The people that work there are so nice, friendly and the do know how to treat costumer. Is my favorite coffee ☕ shop.

Spyhouse is kind of the Vampire Weekend of coffee shops in the city. Feels mainstream under the guise of Indie charm. Hip when it came out, but not anymore. Perfect for guys in flannel and Vanity-Fair-beards who major in business. There’s a lot of really cool local coffee shops worth visiting instead. Your coffee is fine, Spyhouse, but your roots are no longer in the heart and soul of this city. Harsh, I know, but as a level 2 local guide, complete and utter honesty is my duty.

Love the Spyhouse at this location. Great coffee! The atmosphere here is wonderful. Sometimes it’s hard to find a spot during their busy hours. It’s also opened late, so that’s a plus.

The barista was very professional and explained me how to make perfect pour over. The almond croissant was out of the world ( much better than the one from Starbucks). The atmosphere and interior was very cozy, warm and comfortable. The place is rather popular among locals, so be ready to spend some time on looking for a spot to seat and drink your coffee, if you’re not in a hurry. Definitely recommend it and will try to to visit other locations of this wonderful coffee shop. P. S. cups with little Minnesota are very cute.

I appreciate that it is open late. Its a great place to study, chat with friends, or get a drink to go. The atmosphere is pleasant and they often put up seasonal decorations. The staff is pleasant and the restrooms are clean. Parking can be tough to find nearby.

Not my main go-to in Minneapolis-St. Paul but worth your while. Coffee is solid and consistent. This location is often quite busy. I do like the music but they could stand to turn down the volume. Bring a pair of headphones if youre working.

Great atmosphere. I enjoy the tea - the Red Berry or Ginger (it is really spicy). I come here to study, especially after work. It is really chill place and the staff is laid back. I like it here because they are open until 11:00pm.

We love this place! After dinner many nights we head up to spyhouse with the neighbors for an evening latte. The staff is now asking when we walk in how many lattes? We are loving it! Thanks for such beautiful artwork on the lattes, great service, and the lattes are so creamy and delicious!

NOPE!!! Couldnt help to notice over a few weeks period several incidents where people where refused service, each time the barista using terms like your type.

I live right around the corner and work from home, so I thought it would be a great place to drop in occasionally. The first time in, I got the cold press and it had a weird oily film, the second time I got the iced tea which was good, but $3.75 (before tip) for a pretty small glass, the 3rd round I got a straight black coffee for $2.75. The black coffee was decent, the cup was a bit smaller than average, but I went for a refill and they charged me another $2.75!!! That is just too much for average coffee especially if you are going to be there for any amount of time. But Im stupid, Im sure I will be back.

I have visited this location for years. Love the crowd and the ambiance. Did not like the price of coffee going up and the size of the cup going down. Nor having to pay full price for a refill. 5.12.18 Parking around here has gotten worse. I visit here less when I am in the Cities because there is no good way to get there.

I like coming here because of the good coffee, friendly service, and eclectic-homey-hipster ambiance. Each Spyhouse seems to have their own vibe which I really like and helps me get creative when I do design work. Lighting is a tad on the dim side at nights, but if you dont mind that, and stay close to a light source (and drink their strong coffee), you will stay awake just fine.

I think is the best coffee ive had anywhere, so smooth and delicious.Green goddess chicken breast was hot and delicious. I just cant say enough about how good it tastes

Good ambiance and food. However, one of the staff felt the need to aggressively clean around me, including sweeping my feet, while I was studying there. I looked to see if she was doing it to other customers. Nope. Just me. I had purchased food and it felt very racial. Its sad, and even sadder when you consider how racially diverse the neighborhood is. Would avoid.

This place is great! Love there hot teas. Got a large coffee today for $3.50. this place is popular with the recovery community as there are multiple treatment centers within a block of the location. Spyhouse is always very clean and the bathrooms are clean and private (1 person at a time). Place can get packed on the weekend especially at nights in the winter and often times the 4 person high top tables can get monopolized by 1 person.. I would recommend!

The best cappuccino Ive ever had. I asked the barista for a espresso drink that didnt contain so much milk but wasnt so dried either and she made me just the best drink Ive had in a long time. The place is really nice very lively and centrally located, however they have several locations around Minneapolis. Coffee is high qualityIf I lived in Minneapolis this would be my everyday coffee shop.

Great atmosphere. I love the lights, the windows, the plants. Coffee is great. Wonderful place to spend time alone working, or with a friend catching up. The AC was broken when I was there but they had the windows and doors open.

It’s a cute, local coffee house, but they need more vegan options. Their menu on Google Maps led me to believe they had vegan maple scones, but alas, upon arrival I was disappointed. Regardless, their tea is definitely good and warming

Solid coffee, but be warned they changed their sizes and upped the price. Having been here maybe 3 months ago previously imagine my surprise when my latte came in a 8 oc cup versus 16. After I looked at the menu it was $6 to get the size I had gotten previously. They have great coffee but there are lots of other more reasonably priced cuppas around for the cost and the atmosphere.

RUDE, RUDE, RUDE. There were two girls behind the counter. One was Asian and the other was a Tall blonde. Feburary 24, about 6pm. Service was slow, and it wasnt even that busy. While I was waiting to get my coffee, I overheard both of them speaking negatively about a few guests that had been in earlier and the language they used was not professional to say the least. I usually love this spot and I have never had a bad experience up until this point. On top of that, the bathrooms were filthy with urine everywhere, paper towels on the ground etcThis experience has made me think about taking my business elsewhere. Sad really. Wish there was a manager around, but of course there was not.

Wouldnt let us enjoy dessert we brought to celebrate Fathers Day since they sold their own. We were buying coffee and wanted more but went to Dunn instead.Was very active on a Sunday morning with cars and pedestrians as we sat outside on a lovely morning. Too bad we couldnt stay.

All of the spyhouses in town are great! Great service, great coffee, very creative and tasty specialty drinks, and nice baked items. Their house coffee blends are always good, as are all espresso shots.There is a bunch of space here, so even when its crowded you can still probably find a place to sit. Lots of different kinds of seating too. Come check it out!

Nice atmosphere. Lights were low enough for romance but not to study. I like Cage the Elephant but the music was too loud. It was busy even near 9 PM on a Monday. Only the center tables were available. Coffee was too expensive to be lukewarm. Only finished half of a large latte. The cashiers were friendly. Last time a lady said Id have to pay extra for honey. I replied itll come from your tip.

It is freezing inside. I never feel cold even in Minneapolis, but this place is really freezing. And I asked them to change the temperature but I was told that the temperature is controlled by a central system and cannot be changed. People work with wearing their coats.

This place was super busy on the late Saturday morning that I stopped in. This isnt the kind of place where you can walk in unnoticed. The barista skips the warm greeting and immediately asks for your order, staring at you awkwardly until you make up your mind or leave. If you can find a chair though, this is a good place to camp out and get some light reading done. It is pretty busy, so expect some background noise. The coffee itself is good but very expensive and this place doesnt quite have the classiness as the NE Spyhouse.

Not only did they not have any AC on in the middle of summer, but their establishment seems almost like a club where you have to yell over people to have a conversation (the music was incredibly loud), spyhouse prices are too high. And of course, theres almost never anywhere to sit (not their fault of course). I recommend going to sisters sludge coffee if you want to have a quieter experience and much cheaper coffee.

Good coffee. A place where you feel comfortable sitting talking for hours or working on your novel or drawing. A slight hipster vibe without the pretentious attitude.

As local coffeehouses go, Im not a fan. Its very busy all the time and everything is overpriced. ($4 Americano??) The location is fun -right on Eat Street- but there is no parking lot and its tough to find a spot on the side streets. If youre looking for someplace trendy, certainly consider Spyhouse. But if youre looking for a relaxed and affordable coffeehouse, Id go elsewhere.

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Minneapolis! I love the music, space to work, and drinks. Also, it gets pretty busy but people are always willing to share their big tables!
