I requested a brake job from these guys and they got me in the next day. After inspecting them and even test driving it, they came back to me and said they believed the brakes were fine (50% wear).Standard right? No charge. What?When I do need my brakes done or have my friends that need them done, I’m sure referring them here. Thanks for the excellent customer service!EDIT: Got a new car and had my exhaust straight piped at this shop. Bought a performance exhaust the next week and got it installed at another shop—— the next shop found that there was a good sized leak on the installation of the straight pipes from this shop. So, quality is questionable.

I needed my exhaust pipe repaired short very notice, a lot of local shops turned me away and said they couldnt do It nor work on that pipe size. I finally came to Main Muffler on McKinley and was in and out within an hour. Main Muffler on McKinley I highly recommended them for diesel exhaust issues.

Waisted my time. I set an appointment for 830 dropped my keys in the drop box and the store never opened. Had to call other locations to get my keys back. Very unprofessional. Went to Discount Muffler in south bend. Will never do business with Main Muffler again. Needs to hire people that have integrity.

This place is awesome. I went here after Midas told me I needed all new pads and roters all the way around. Midas quoted $890 to change my breaks on my kia Optima. I felt that was too high so I brought the car here for a second opinion. They looked at the breaks and called me. They said the front brakes still had over 50 percent life left and nothing was wrong with the front roters. I did have them change the rear roters and pads and they cleaned and greased the calipers for $300. Almost $600 cheaper than Midas. Makes me think, which scenario is more likely to have happened. Did Midas try and charge me for work that I didnt even need? Or did Main Muffler and brakes tell me my breaks are fine when they really needed work. Im going with the first one. I have a hard time believing a mechanic would tell you something was in good working condition if it needed replacing. Thank you Jill and everyone else there for being an honest place to do business.

Just needed an exhaust repair, not a whole new system. They treated me like I was the only customer they had. full attention, asked questions about what I was wanting done. And didnt try to upsell or push anything on me. I have an old truck. Didnt want to put any more money into it than necessary. They had no problem with that. The repair was scheduled, completed, and I had the truck back on the road in one day. Very reasonable cost. Completely satisfied. This was the second time Ive had their work done and I will continue to go back when needed. Tell everyone, these guys are good, friendly, and priced right.

Professional, fast and a fair price. The main drawback was the thick blanket of cigarette smoke in the lobby. Also my car smelled like cigarettes (non smoker) for days after they sat in it just to drive it to the back for repair.

My husband thought he needed new brakes so he took our car in to Main Muffler. They checked them out free of charge I might add and found that he did not need any. Then they found that the back caliper was frozen and they fixed that instead and again free of charge. They are sooo great and honest and they saved us a ton of money. They are my no. 1 shop to go to now from now on. I highly recommend them as does my hubby. Do yourself a favor and go to a reputable and fair and honest shop when you need any work done on your car or truck. Thank you soooo much Main Muffler and Brake.

Went in for a brake job and they tried to scam me. Mechanic there tried telling me my rotars were bad and a caliper was locked. Calipers werent locked, i had a stripped caliper bolt and i check my rotars with every brake change and always change my brakes before they grind. They basically lied to me and tried to argue with me until they agreed to simply change the damn brake pads. If they dont want to do honest work, they really oughta close their doors and stop scamming people.

Had brake job, heard noise that was not there prior to new brakes. Went back in to report, made adjustments. Still had noise. Changed out brake drum. Still heard noise. Was told it needs to seat (break in). Had Never had anyone say that regarding brakes. Put on new cylinders (cost more $) Took back again 4th time because same noise was present. They greased behind the shoes, same result. I will now have to take to a real mechanic costing more time & money.Days later: another shop found problem & repaired. Main Muffler to their credit paid for the labor. Their guarantee is apparently valid. Thats a good business practice, to stand behind the claim.

Stay away from the one on main st in Elkhart /Dunlap area by the concord Mall they raised the price on me 3 times I paid left and now they say I owe them even more money I can’t make this stuff up main muffler in Elkhart-
