Update: My guitar plays like a dream now! Steve is the man for setting up your guitar and replacing strings.!!!The staff here at this location is always very attentive whenever I go there. I commute, so having an option to visit locations in Indiana and Florida is very helpful. Looking forward to getting my guitar back after they set it up for me. Ill update my review after I pick up my guitar.

Good experience very expensive and unlike other places we were not offered a patch cord which would have allowed us to play any desired instrument.... I have never been to any guitar store where you werent offered a patch cord appon entrance!!

Love being able to see beautiful guitars in person. I hope we dont lose guitar center due to mail order. I have to play a guitar to feel if we would have a good relationship together. Ordering a guitar takes away that ability. I love the staff, they are friendly and helpful, also knowledgeable. I enjoy going there and supporting them.

Staff are knowledgeable within the area they work. Prices are reasonable for a physical store. Staff are friendly and not sales pushy. Facility is clean and organized. Can be noise but it is a music store so this is to be expected. If they dont have what you are looking for they can most likely have it shipped in.

I drove a collective 20 hours from over 5 different trips to this store last week. I bought 3 guitars, looked at 4, returned 3 guitars. All 3 new guitars had either fret issues or a million tiny scratches in the finish. I was told you cant expect a perfect guitar without getting into custom shop Gibson stuff by one of the employees 😂😂😂 Ive seen perfect squires before, they dont take care of their inventory. Dont let people touch the guitars if they cant take it off the wall without bumping it into the 2 other guitars on both sides of it. Demo price is a thing.

Purchased a epiphone hummingbird inspired by Gibson online. The guitar was received this Saturday and I called in and confirmed that was correct. I asked if they could please lower the action, thus why I had it sent to them and not shipped to me. I was told I could come in and pick up Saturday around 5, it would be ready. I could not make it so, I came in on Sunday and explained I was there to pick up said guitar. No one there had any clue, I mean seriously? The guy up front left and went back to look for it and 20 minutes later he comes out with guitar and proceeds to put it in line for the guy to look at. REALLY, does not say a word to me or attempt to explain they completely dropped the ball. Like I really wanted to sit there for who knows how much longer. I asked him to forget the strings I was going to purchase and just give me my guitar and I would be on my way. Steve does a great job setting up guitars, all I ask is you consult with the customer before you start wasting their time. I was extremely disappointed with guitar center and will start looking for a new place to do business.

Ive always had good service here. Ive brought my baritone uke in to be restrung a few times now. And the staff is always friendly and helpful. Steve the guitar tech who restrung my uke was able to get the job done in a matter of ten maybe fifteen minutes. Hes polite. Also, the staff is knowledgeable and are willing to answer any questions you may have.

We bought a keyboard for my daughters birthday. The gentleman that helped us was very knowledgeable (sorry, I dont remember his name) and my daughter loved the present!

Addiction to this place is bad. Several thousands spent here. Good return policy if something doesnt work out. They get your money back no questions asked long as you in 30 days.

Updated 3/20 as issue has been favorably resolved, please see below inital post:3/17 ordered a used guitar and have had a terrible experience thus far. Contacted the GC helpline after purchase to ensure the order came through and no one else could buy it because of any online inconsistencies. Specifically checked for that. Got an email later they had sold my guitar. Called the store, spoke with John and he was super awesome and tried to help the most and we discussed a few things but didnt get to a solution. Long story short after a few calls I had two people telling me two different things about what happened to it. Was supposed to hear back from management and they did not return the call i was told to be prepared for. They did offer to help with a discount at one store i spoke with, regardless I would not end up with the same level of quality so its still a lose-lose for me. Just recently started coming back to GC because the crew is good at my home store, but unless this mistake is truly righted I can no longer support the business. I will amend the review if there are any developments toward a favorable outcome!3/20 Update - Received a call from one of the district managers named Rick. Rick patiently worked with me (I admittedly do require some when upset) to get me something that offers the same value of the original item. I wont go into details but he went well out of his way to investigate and actually gave me real answers so I do not think the issue will happen to anyone else. It really was an error that due to circumstances is tough to navigate from their side and additionally I apologize for putting management through any grief! My intent is not to harm, simply rectify and improve, myself included. Additionally, we have got a deal lined up with another axe that I have eyed for a while and my excitement has returned in full! When things go wrong, to me that has always been the real testing ground for whether a company will keep my business. GC teamed up and worked hard to keep mine and show me they care, so I am back to 5 stars. I hope the restructuring of the company keeps that same good attitude that I have encountered moving forward!

They should just go out of business already. They never have anything I am looking to buy. If you are looking for low end guitars, this is your place.

I love this place because of the people who work here! They’re always super helpful and friendly! Ricky, Steve, Toby and all of them are knowledgeable and honest. I’ve never felt pressured to buy something just to make a sale. They have my interests in mind and want me to be happy with my purchases. They’re also really great at ordering in what I need if they don’t have it in store. They give private lessons at this store now too and have some really fine people instructing and offering lessons.

I took my free lesson and even though it was supposed to only be 15 min. we played and spoke about what I wanted to achieve. Not sure where to hang with your band buddies? This place is your answer. The workers will give you advice on anything necessary and will not, I repeat wont, make you pay more than whats needed. The enumerate amount of instruments will keep you entertained for hours!

Bought my son his first drum kit. Got home and found out we were missing the throne seat but had a snare and Toms that didnt belong to the set. Called and got treated like I was the only customer they had. Returned other pieces and got throne with no problems . These guys are great !!Went back to get him some new sticks today. I just cant imagine shopping any where else..they treat you great and I think they will always go the extra mile whether its a 12 year old just starting out or a seasoned musician !! Thanks guys for all you do! Jimmy says keep a Yamaha kit ready for him...

Still the best guitar center Ive been to. The tech here (Steve) does good work. The other guys are also awesome. The only negative is that its a small store, and thus limited selection.

Had my first full guitar lesson today! I really enjoyed it, and look forward to taking more. The instructor is really cool. The guy that schedules the lessons is cool. I havent actually looked around the store yet, but it looks like they have a lot of instruments, equipment, etc.

Had just what I needed. I came in today to rent a room for oboe practice. I cannot play it in an apartment and I am a beginner. Obviously no one want to hear that. This was ideal for my situation.I was able to rent a room without recording or equipment for $9.00 an hour. I simply brought in my own music stand and went to work.Sundays are best if you want to get a room in a pinch, that is when they are least busy. They stay open until 7:00pm on Sunday days also. Any other time you should book in advanced. There are also no cancellation fees.The rooms had amps, chairs, recording equipment, music stands, and a clock that I could see.The room was orderly and clean. Chairs were sturdy and comfortable. Lighting was good.The booking process was pretty easy.Only con is that I live too far away to take advantage of it more than once a week.

For classical instruments youll want to visit Quinlan & Fabish on Edison Road. Guitar center has good and knowledgeable staff. Though I didnt end up buying from them, they were kind enough to answer all my questions. Id definitely go back.

This is an absolute insult and disgrace to the music world, they refused service because I didnt have a mask due to medical issues, and still refused service after i got a mask because I simply stated we live in America we are free people! Come on fellow musicians, we dont need guitar center to get the items we need lets support stores who support us!

This place is a mecca for the guitar enthusiastic. Literally hundreds of acoustical and electrical guitars to choose from and play. They are very liberal with allowing you to use their merchandise. I spent an hour and a half in the acoustical guitar room by myself trying dozens of guitars. As long as its not too crowded in that room, it is the perfect place to go to pick an instrument you will love. The help is very informed and available although it can get pretty crowded with the locals. The prices were not bargain-basement low but I think they were reasonable . Short of heading to Chicago, there is no need to go any further. Very impressive store.

Bought a new piano from them and love it. The associate was very knowledgeable and know the differences between the different models they carried. We were able to try all the pianos we where interested in and he even plugged in one that wasnt turned on.

I took my old beat up squire bass in this week and got an amp and the platinum service done on my bass. I can not speak highly enough of the staff here. They were friendly knowledgeable and very professional. They did such a great job on my bass that if it hadn’t been for my sticker I wouldn’t have been able to tell it was mine. The service provided was done quickly and well my bass is in better condition than when I bought it and plays like it is brand new. I wouldn’t take my instruments anywhere else.

I dislike going into guitar center in South bend, because every time I ask anyone a question, Im met with an answer of I dont know. However, today will be my last time going in. I purchased a pedal power supply, and the gentleman walked to the back to get one out of stock. He walked up with all of the components loose in his hand and began stuffing them in the display box. He assured me that all components were in the box, but when I got home I was missing all of my right angle connectors. Everyone one of them. There are 6 that should be included, and not one of them is in the box. I will not be going back. They will rip you off, and they dont even realize they are doing it.

I dont support guitar center they act like your friend so they can sell you stuff through a corporate company. I will never shop at a GC again and i work on my own guitars since im a tech now if you ever need real work done contact me instead and my services are waaaaaaaay cheaper lmao.

Made an hour trip specifically to visit this store since they had the amp I was looking for since the store by me never seems to have anything in stock. This may now be the only one I ever go to. Very helpful people. I was assisted almost immediately after walking in the store which was nice because I had never been to this particular location. They had everything that I was looking for which was a definite plus because ordering from guitar centers warehouse has proven to be a total nightmare. Much better service here than what Ive gotten at any other location Ive ever visited.

I dont play anything, but my grandson does. He found everything and the people did a really good job at helping out. But not anoying like some places.

Went looking for an entry level guitar for my 12 year old step daughter. Found what I wanted (Yamaha for under $200 that sounds amazing). They tuned it, adjusted the neck and sent me on my way. I am very happy with my purchase.

Got some picks they had everything I was looking for and more. The purchasing experience could have gone better... They had removed the picks I was buying from inventory which meant they had to add it back while I was checking out but I guess that is what I get for buying the sale items!

Guitar Center, Steve, made guitar look like it was new again. Even replaced parts!!! In a 30 minute time span!!!

My grandson is starting drum lessons, great staff, fun people they like what they do, and you can ask as many questions as need to feel comfortable and they make you feel like ask another we will help you no problem!!!! Just a nice group of people, a friendly atmosphere.
