The owner is so sweet and gentle! she makes sure you have everything you need. she also gave us miso soup on the house. the food tastes so home-y, i don’t know how to describe it. the interior is a little old but it doesn’t matter if the food is this good

This is my favorite spot for lunch in all of Mobile! The sushi is incredible. Ive probably had about 8 different rolls and I havent been disappointed with any. The lady who (I think) owns the place is extremely nice and friendly and all of the staff that Ive met are very helpful. Too bad I cant give more stars.

Went for the all you can eat. The sushi is mostly rice with little filling. I went a second time and waiting 25 minutes for three rolls and it still was not done. I have been to Japan before and do not expect authentic in Mobile but this was a waste of a meal.

I love eating here. The pandemic has changed the once unlimited sushi option to choice of three rolls. Those 3 rolls will be worth it though. The food is still delicious, despite the limited staff. I will definitely be back to support this local shop.

Went here with the hubby for the first time today. We had the all you can eat sushi special they have going on.Their misu soup is well condimented and served hot. Their salad is crunchy and very savoury. We had the Tempura Crawfish Roll / Spicy Tuna Roll / Bama Roll and it was all well packed, FRESH, and drool worthy

Me and the old lady that I help work with Love sushi and one day we were talking about going out to go eat sushi and she found out about this place and we went there in the atmosphere is so amazing and the staff is so nice he brings us things that we dont even ask for it and it is very delicious and the prices are very affordable and I love to get the fry crunchy shrimp roll and if you love sushi this is the right place for you to go

Absolutely filthy- a layer of grime over every surface. I couldn’t even bring myself to order anything after my feet stuck to the floor and I couldn’t touch the gross menu. Super nice people, but I couldn’t eat anything.

So We went here bc we wanted to support local and our friends have raved about it and the reviews online are incredible. No AC. Filthy. The sweet tea was stale. They had no hot tea. The table was sticky as was the floor. We ended up getting our food to go. And not even eating it.

Delicious Sushi

The reviews were right. This place didnt look like much from the outside but was a pleasant surprise on the inside. My mom, daughters and I devoured the sushi. The young server did a great job as she was busy waiting tables and handling take out orders expertly. I especially enjoyed the owner and other women working taking care of every detail to make sure our meal was delicious. Highly recommend.

Portions too small. Food unseasoned. Salmon cold and undercooked. Very disappointed.

This is a great place for sushi and Thai. The sushi was marvelous, even adding in local twists like crawfish! I had panang curry which was flavorful. They also do beignets! We didnt sample the beignets but look forward to returning and finding out how they taste. Highly recommend.

Nice owner but mediocre food and terrible service. A request for a small order of rice was forgotten, no big deal, it was getting busy. Then we were asked if we wanted a check before we were finished eating - that seemed rude to us. I ordered the all you can eat sushi, the sushi wasn’t the greatest but not bad considering the price. Price is good $13.95 but it’s not really all you can eat. You get 2 rolls then can order 1 roll at a time after that, and each roll can take 10 min. After we had paid for our meal even though we weren’t finished, my request for additional sushi was not fulfilled. Waited 15 minutes and reminded waitress that I was still waiting. After 20 minutes we left. The restaurant already had our money, there was no motivation to keep feeding us. I would not come here again.

Food is great and in small personable quaint atmosphere... Great value, made fresh to order all you can eat sushi lunch special for 13.95 is a great value... Look forward to every trip.

I have been going to this place for almost 10 years now. It is a small place but has always been so good. Now they have an all you can eat sushi menu. Such a great deal. It starts with soup and salad, all the sushi you can eat, and ends with a small piece of fried banana. Great place for dates.

All you can eat sushi for $14 is a really good deal. You have like 10-12 choices for it, you can switch up rolls each time, and it tastes pretty good. Service is great - really friendly and quick. Note: They couldn’t serve alcohol when we went because there wasn’t an up to date liquor license so just a heads up.

Julies Fuji San restaurant is the best sushi restaurant in mobile. Very very kind service. Affordable dishes always with lots of free unexpected extras, soup, salad, and a variety of deserts. There is such a large variety of dishes from Thai, to French, to Japanese, Indonesian, and others. IT appears to be a Japanese restaurant until you see the menu. They have a huge sake selection. I love her sushi it tastes so good and the ingredients are always really really fresh. Thank you Julie for bringing good food to Mobile.

Needs a new waitress. We were served our drinks and forgotten about for over an hour. She decided to run around the entire dining room cleaning and leaving most tables unchecked.Finally a guy from the kitchen comes and checks on us to refill our drinks. We see her hanging tickets up frantically when no one has come in behind us. She didn’t put our order in and it has been almost an hour and 30 minutes at this point. Instead of her coming out and owning up to her mistake the guy comes out and apologizes to us because it’s busy. We got here when it was busy, when he made that apology there were maybe 3 tables of people in the whole place at that point.The latest table has been here for about an hour now and has only received their salad so it’s not just bad luck on our end. She had come behind him multiple times to ask if we would like to order more when he’s already taken care of us. The staff here is usually wonderful but we have been having less than stellar service if it’s not the lady that owns it or the guy mentioned above. Giving this place a long break, hoping the next time we decide to come here it’s back to its former 5 star glory.

The food was amazing and the lady that owns this restaurant is so welcoming. I highly recommend going here. The soups, sushi, entrees, and desserts are all fantastic.

3 visits (2 takeout and 1 dine-in), all very disappointing. The menu seems great until you decide what you want and they say theyre out of that item. One time I asked ahead (since they dont give the courtesy to tell you), What are you out of today? and it was a lot of menu items. Today it was the mix to make beingets....BEIGNETS, one of their signature items! Then they take insanely long to get your order out, even with few or zero other customers. And then.....you see the microscopic portions. And theyre not exactly cheap either. I just paid $19.50 for a bag that felt almost weightless when she handed it to me. My daughters sushi roll was was about as wide as a nickel, and my panang was a small cup of mostly broth. Thats it, no more tries.

I had never heard of this restaurant til I saw an offer for discounted certificates. The menu looked good, so I thought it wouldnt hurt to try it out. The aggravating thing about the certificates is that they were sold in increments of $10, so I had to buy multiple ones to use for my family. The restaurant wouldnt allow me to use more than one on a $90 order. The parking was horrible. There was only one server. Several of us ran out of tea and it took a while to get refills. On the plus side, they have a good deal with the all you can eat sushi rolls for $14, which are made to order and also came with miso soup and a small garden salad. The owner seemed to be working on a new dessert and offered everyone a free sample.

Very terrible. The man has one job. Take care of your employees & employees would take care of us as customer. Ive waited over an hour for my service / food. Its like child labor going on. Lady was very sweet. The man with grey hair was such a creep. Dont be rude to your employees in front of customers. They are just kids. I heard every little word he said back in the kitchen and behind the bar. This is the last time Ill eat here..

I always come here for sushi, Ive never ordered anything else from the menu. They have a great selection of rolls. The fried bananas are a great treat. The only reason I dont give them 5 stars is because sometimes it takes a very long time to get my food after Ive ordered.

The extremely friendly and humble elderly woman that owns the joint, and the old fashioned atmosphere makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. Come as guest, leave as family painted in large print on the wall, and I feel like this is strictly enforced.The sushi is consistently good. The fish always tastes fresh, and everything is made to order. The delicious jasmine sushi rice they use is usually reserved only for the pricy sushi bars...Long story short... you will not find better sushi for the price.This is my new favorite restaurant.

I took my family out for a date night, the staff was very accommodating to us and our son who happens to be an exceptionally picky eater, the waiter brought us a bowl of sticky rice for him after he refused to eat the fried rice we ordered for him. The food was absolutely delicious. We are never disappointed with Fuji San, even though the establishment puts you more in the mind of a hole in the wall the price point is competitive and the food is always freshly made to order. This is by far one of our favorite date spots, it is quiet, and the service is excellent.

I went last week with my wife and was disappointed. We arrived at 8:30 and the restaurant was totally dead. The food was simply not good. All the sushi rolls we ordered were drowned in pink mayonnaise. We could hear the employees complaining about previous customers and they were watching Fox news on the tv at a very high volume. The whole place feels dirty and gross. Going there was a waste of a date night. The last time I had been to Fuji San was 10 years ago. I liked it back then, but now there are a dozen better sushi restaurants in town to go to.

Okay, so I really like this little house in midtown that the Fuji San set up in. It has a very quaint, neighborhood feel to it that I really like. I also really liked the Thai tea that they serve. The Japanese food was very average, at best, but my wife had a Thai soup that she enjoyed very much. I also enjoyed the complimentary fried banana served at the end of the meal. If you are looking for a place with an Asian feel to it, this is a place you should try.

Ive never stopped eating and walked out of a restaurant until today. The women making the food kept going back and forth from the dining room to the open kitchen touching chairs, menus, and dirty dishes, then going right back to making food without washing hands. She even had one hand gloved that never came off. I drew the line when she rubbed her nose then went straight back to making sushi. I told her we were done eating and why. She let us go without paying.The sushi had mostly rice.

We love Fuji San! We have been going there for years- and now we like it even better. The all you can eat menu where there is one proce for as many rolls as you order is amazing.

I lived in Mobile very close to Fuji San and ordered to go shushi almost every weekend. I now live in Birmingham and miss my Fuji San so much. Ive not found a better place here yet. Phenomenal food AND service!! The all you can eat option is phenomenal!! I highly suggest the fried salmon roll and the Bama roll!!! We are not from Mobile and happened upon it while in town for a conference. ANY time we are back in town, we will remember this place and enjoy!!

I LOVE this restaurant. I frequent it at least 3 times a month. However, I have now placed two to go orders and been disappointed with both. Ms. Julie and a younger guy that used to work there made the BEST rolls and were so friendly, so I hate to leave 3 stars. lately it has been some other women making them and they are below satisfying.This time I ordered the Dina roll and miso soup with Waitr. The Dina roll comes with cream cheese and toppings. When I opened the box it was the tiniest 8 pieces I’ve ever seen. There was no cream cheese in the roll, hardly any topping, and mostly rice. Then the miso soup came in a styrofoam container and was only a quarter full and tasted like it had been watered down. This is the second disappointing order I’ve placed. I feel shammed almost because I go to this place so much and spend my money here only to be disappointed.

This place is AWESOME! I go there all the time with friends and family. Everyone who works there is super nice and the food is always great! Plus...most of the time they give you a free fried banana covered in honey!

Wonderful food! Loved our Bama Roll, recommended by our waitress. The complimentary fried bananas were very good, which was surprising to us--we dont usually like fried bananas, but these were delicious!!!The only thing that could have been better is the salad.

The sushi portions were very small maybe the size of quarters. The pad tai dish was one egg, half a chicken breast, and noodles. There were a lot of noodles I guess that was nice. Taste was average at best but definitely not worth the price. Maybe it was an off night, it happens.
