I got the green tea mango smoothie which was fantastic. like the vibe this place gives off. a good place to just chill, with or without company. however, I’ve never felt so mistreated. i don’t know if it’s me or i don’t even know what to say the lady at the counter was straight up rude?? she made me feel like i should be sorry to there. i legit got confused if she even works for the place. i’m not saying that she’s got to have her preppy voice on and bombard me with greetings because i know customer service is not an easy task. but just a simple hello would suffice??? but instead of that, i got an eye roll when i walked in. don’t think i could come back alone. might have to bring a friend along for moral support.
Awesome service, fantastic food. I’m a vegan and they were able to provide me options even during their limited breakfast menu. Can’t even begin to express how grateful I am. The burrito was HUGE & so tasty. Can’t wait to return, definitely worth checking out. Latte was also top notch.
I would recommend to anyone who likes a hip, local college coffee shop. I feel like I’m back in my college town. Good coffee, some pastries, and it looks like there is alcohol for those who need it.
Lovely quiet spot with a good selection of coffee and cozy atmosphere.
Not sure if our experience was the norm but it was awkwardly quiet here. When the space was Satori Records, it was always filled with music & conversation/debates/laughter. The stickers & posters are still on the walls but now theres just so much silence.. My companions & I felt like we needed to whisper. WEIRD.Anyway, the prices are also steep - $14 for 2 frappes - but I like supporting local business... so I may visit again but Ill definitely take my coffee to go.
The place is fine but they need to hire better staff. I am a new customer, and I have only been here a few times but each time I have come in the morning, its the same girl that is working. I sit there for hours doing my work, and I am not exaggerating when I say that she steps out for a smoke between almost every customer and she does NOT wash her hands when she comes back in. I dont care about your life choices because that is your call, but not only is it unprofessional for you to do that at work but youre also putting other people at risk from second hand smoke. She smokes right at the entrance where people come in and out, and then doesnt wash her hands afterwards. I think its unsanitary and unhealthy. Shes touching food and drinks with her bare hands and selling it to countless people in the community. If something doesnt change soon, I will be reaching out to health boards to see if there is anything that can be done.
One of the best coffee shops in Mobile! It has a younger vibe to it, which I prefer over the coffee shop up the road across from Spring Hill College. That one was not diverse at all. This one was not only diverse, but had amazing coffee and food options. They even serve alcohol! Perfect to study or just chill at for a couple of hours.
The Mocha was not great. Service took a long time (actually forgot my order and I had to remind them). Environment is nice and quiet though for getting some work done.
Incredibly disappointed in this place. The customer service was awful, none of the employees even acknowledged me or said a word. The coffee was awful, as was the wrap I ordered. I definitely won’t be coming back and don’t recommend anyone tries this place.
Great atmosphere. Staff is friendly. A beautiful medley of people of all ages and backgrounds. I go here and feel welcomed.
This place is absolutely awesome!!! The coffee is relatively cheap, has good atmosphere, and stays open pretty late. Theres also good parking in the back of the shop. Also, great place for geeks to hangout with, and everyone is super nice!
This is a great local spot! Great food and coffee, they even have liquor and beer! Perfect place to study or to come and have some good food and hang out. Converted house so it has a great homey feel. The staff is so great. They will make sure you are taken care of and will give you good recommendations. Their pizza is new to the menu and is good, but I cant get off of their vegan burrito with house-made hot sauce (and Im not even vegan!). Best dirty chai Ive ever had, and my tip to you, is to add their honey to this ;) as recommended by the staff here. You need to come!!
First time trying this coffee shop was last Thursday. I enjoyed it a lot! The staff is very helpful. Ill be back!
Have loved it from the music store days:)
Great coffee. 50/50 whether youll get a barista who treats you like a person or treats you like dirt, though.
Great ☕ coffee house with outstanding customer service and wonderful atmosphere!
I got an Americano it was so strong it couldnt be sweetened so I took it home and added shots to my coffee for a week...and the pastry there couldnt tell if was cherry or rum flavored...But enjoyed the taste
Have been a huge fan of this business since it was a CD store. Now they have an awesome breakfast burrito!! Great example of a local business adapting.
Friendly, great selection of flavors for coffee, the food is great, and the coffee drinks are delicious. Definitely recommend this spot for coffee.
At Toris yoga class
Always great. We order food and drinks from here every time we visit and its always on point.
Speakeasy vibe. Nice staff.
Always loved the coffee here. The owner is great and personable. But... The guy with the curly hair... He is rude, literally always has an attitude, scorched my espresso, and looks like he hasnt bathed in days... I know that is harsh, but it is the truth. The other two guys that work there are so nice and make great food and coffee. It is a great local spot. If youre new to the area, definitely check it out! Just ignore the unkept, curly headed dude.
Very cool, funky coffeeshop in a pretty neighborhood in Mobile. Glad I stopped here during my travels.
I’m not one to give bad reviews but this time I’ll make an exception. I asked for a large, paid $6.83 with a tip, and got handed a 12oz cup that was only filled 2/3 of the way up. When I asked “Is this a large?”, the girl behind the counter stated “well yes, our large is actually our medium”. What does that even mean? You are better off going to Carpe Diem where they Arn’t so stingy with their coffee.
Classic college and low-key hole-in-the-wall fave type place w/strong commitment to presenting live local music in the back room. No chef on the weekends so we came for nothing! Wanted to try the pizza. Place needs a good scouring inside and out! Nice folks. Very community oriented. Reasonably priced. Has a wheelchair ramp into this converted house, with a reserved parking spot.
Wow! The service here is amazing. We were in from out of town and walked here from our Airbnb. The coffee was fine, but the pizza was out of this world delicious. The dough was made with high quality flour and you could really tell the difference. We had the duck pizza which was fantastic. Even had it on Sunday when they don’t typically make pizza. We will recommend this spot to anyone staying around this area. Thanks for the amazing service and food, we will be back!
Awesome vibes and great coffee.
The food was good but the strawberry blonde barista was extremely rude and acted like doing her job was an inconvenience.
Perfect for studying! They have lots of couches and quiet spaces. (They even started selling pizza!) I absolutely love their green tea latte; I get one every time I go. Very well maintained and a great atmosphere.
Oh this place is GREAT!! Awesome atmosphere and cozy seating inside and out ... willing to work with small group if given a little notice... definitely coming back
Adorable coffee shop, great service.
The best pizza in Mobile!
Great atmosphere for my writers critique group. Excellent coffee, food, service and a sense of sitting in Grandmother’s cozy parlor and chatting with visiting neighbors. If you haven’t tried it, you may be missing the best secret in West Mobile.
Wonderful atmosphere, coffee, and service! Absolutely loved everything about it. Unfortunately I had to get it to go, but I’ll definitely hang out next time.
Nice environment and coffee is pretty good☕
The last two times I was in Tuscaloosa I grabbed a cup of coffee from U Perk on the way home. The first time I just got a quick pour of the batch brew. I think this is really the test of a good coffee shop and they passed with flying colors. So, if all you need is a quick cup of joe, this place will do you right for sure.
That was the best espresso Ive had in a long time.
God. I love this place.I miss Satori a lot, now that I live in Gulf Shores - I realize I completely took it for granted whenever it was my after-class haunt when I went to South.Coffees great & its a great place to stop for lunch. When I was in college, their coffee and cheap cheese croissants kept me alive.Ive seen bands here, I bought records here whenever it was Satori Sound Records. As Im writing this, I just realized that my wife and I had our first date here.99% that the old owners name is Chuck - and hes a great dude and has done a lot with the real estate in the years he owned it. Looking forward to seeing what the new owner does. (But hope he doesnt change too much)Love you, Satori. Thanks for the great coffee & the memories.
Best cafe I ever had the pleasure to visit regularly. Staff is always polite, and the beverages are always flavorful. The blended coffee (my favorite drink) was the perfect taste and never too sweet like nearly every other cafe Ive been to. Its also a perfect place to hang out and do work.
The coffee was not bad, and the atmosphere was nice. I would visit again.
Good coffee, good tea, but I felt like I was in a library. Lots of students studying and I left after I realized I was whispering so as to not disturb anyone. The wait for my tea was weirdly long.
The pizza is SO GOOD! Made a special trip to try it out, got a white pizza with roasted veggies. Will be back for more soon!
This cozy little hole in the wall is packed full of surprises. When you walk in it feels really person, like you walked into someone home, not that they arent professional, but the environment feels very relaxed and accepting. The seating is varied, there are tables and couches you can choose between. Sometimes there are poetry readings or other events. The shop has no TVs l, which is very satisfying. Audibly the shop is very soothing and harmonic.
This place has a history of good vibes, and it continues on with good food, yummy yet affordable coffee, music and acceptance towards all. All are welcome. Great place!
Ehhhh. The hope is that when you go to a coffee house it’s a pleasant mix of multiple things: good service, nice ambience, close proximity to you, and a good product. Parking is good, and the ambience is meh. The whole place feels a little dirty. The service was absolutely lackluster. I mean, I cannot say that the cashier was rude, but he in no way went out of his way to be friendly, and I was one of two people in the building. In the end, the worst part was the coffee. I mean, the plain drip coffee was just bad. It tasted burned and too dark. Or maybe like the urns had not been cleaned in a while? I did not make a fuss and ask for my money back- it was 2 1/2 dollars- so I left the coffee on the counter and left, but I have no inclination to go back, either.
The coffee and green tea is amazing, as well as the food selection which is fresh and flavorful. I love the wide selection of food options. They also serve alcohol. The staff has never been anything less than incredibly kind. I love to come here and study and support local coffee shops!
A great place to chill. We had lunch there (turkey and avocado panini with a side salad). The food is prepared fresh and was great! I would describe the menu as eclectic with a lot of healthy items listed. They also have a good selection of beer and other alcoholic drinks. Highly recommended.
Trendy local place thats part coffee bar part full bar. Great place to hangout with friends, get some studying done, or get some work done while enjoying well made coffees or cocktails. They also have a menu with sandwiches and some other treats.

I love Satori.I miss it a lot, now that I live in Gulf Shores - I realize I completely took it for granted whenever it was my after-class haunt when I went to South.Coffees great & its a great place to stop for lunch. Thanks for the great coffee & the memories.
Very nice. Funky and good.
Nice people, really cool vibe. Great place to study. Food a little better than the espresso drinks but cant go wrong with a smoothie
Of all the locations near Univ. of South Alabama, none can match Satoris old school college town vibe. This place would be right at home in Austin, Athens, Chapel Hill, or Oxford. Its just a wonderful place to get some coffee or a sandwich and hang out. I especially love the Green Tea smoothy and veggie panini. I give it 5 stars not because the food is so awesome, but because it is authentic, it does a perfect job at being what it is
Great vegetarian options, quick service, good prices and delicious coffee choices. They also have a bar that offers a pick me up for your coffee, a cocktail or craft beer. Cozy deck outside and fluffy sofas inside, a great place to meet friends or hole up by yourself and knock out some studying or work.
Very good coffee. Vegenator pizza was outstanding. Fresh toppings, hot and crisp.
Staff was wonderful but coffee was terrible. Do not try the peach!! Horrible!!
I was really excited to get some coffee and do some homework here. However, that completely changed once the man behind the register started being rude towards me and my boyfriend because we were getting settled for our studying and hadn’t bought anything yet. We decided to take our business elsewhere.
Absolutely love this coffee house! Feels like home or a best friends place everytime I visit. Chuck and Ellie are great peoples to be around and their drinks are superb.
Great relaxed recycled-furniture vibe. Their drip coffee is always excellent and their big breakfast burrito with bacon is best in Mobile. Lots of good live music and community events too
Its a nice place to go and hang out. They offer some of the more comfortable seating arrangements Ive personally seen in Mobile. The coffee itself is of course excellent, and the food items they offer (mostly sandwiches and wraps) are very good as well.
Cut place with a very pleasant staff. Muffins are delish by the way. Highly recommend the frappes and lattes as well. And if you need space for a small meeting. Check out the couches in the back.
Although the place itself if amazing and has a lot of tables, couches to study/ chill, I wont be coming back because of the rude employees. I went there 3 times and each time, no employee smiled or greeted me and my friend. When I asked for a recommendation on the menu, I got a one word response. One of the times I was there, the employee made us leave at 9 even though their hours say they close at 10 and I was in the middle of studying for an exam. The employee never said have a good night or anything. Not sure if these people are just rude to everyone or racist and only treat certain people like this. Also, my friend tried to leave a review on yelp and somehow the review was deleted the next day so not sure whats up with that.
Love this place- in the daytime its quiet, with comfy couches, good coffee and excellent wraps and soups. Been going here for years, back when I could also get a used cd 😅 Chuck is awesome. Hes made a nice little unpretentious retreat here off Old Shell
Coffee and tea is always well made, water is perfect temp for both brewed. If you are feeling dangerous, get a dirty chai, tea with an espresso mixed in.
This is a great little cafe for good coffee and desserts. Sandwiches are also available on the menu. Best part is the live music. Everything from ambient and jazz to karaoke and bring your favorite record night
This place is amazing I love the vibe and I love the people who work there. The food is great and the drinks are good. I love the proximity to the school too.
Favorite local spot for fresh coffee. Recently, the wi-fi hasnt been working with my Mac, but beyond that, Ive had no problems. Great for a quiet morning getting work done or a meeting with others.
Boozy coffee drinks. Good sandwiches. Friendly service.
A delightful coffee shop, with a dark roast perfectly done. Break spinach burrito hit the spot. The back room currently filling up with an art class as I type. A must visit if youre in or visiting Mobile, AL
This is my absolute favorite coffee shop in Mobile. It’s basically like walking into your friend’s living room. If your friend sold you coffee and delicious food. Also, this place sells alcohol so you can visit in the morning before work for coffee and again after work to wind down.
Loved the breakfastBurrito and the green tea smoothie !! Great stuff!
Great local hotspot. Draws a lot of the local college crowd and some people from out of the city. Have met a lot of cool people there. Drinks are good. They have an open mic night most Thursdays.
As always the staff is amazing. The setting sublime. A great place to meet friends or sit alone with a delightful book. This is is my Cheers.
This is my most favorite coffee shop! It has such a laid back atmosphere, great drink and food options, and is reasonably priced.
Delicious food. better prices than starbucks for better coffee. plus its locally owned, if thats a thing that matters to you. they have a tasty green tea latte, you should try it.
I love you Satori ❤️
Love the coffee and burrito special. The breakfast burrito is delicious
Amazing coffee shop with absolutely delicious choices for coffee. They have a regular menu then usually three specials that rotate out every week or so. On top of coffee they have tea and if you really need a pick me up they have a small selection of alcohols to add to your drinks as well. If that wasnt good enough they have a large food menu with breakfast and lunch style foods, mostly sandwiches and wraps. They have tasty bagels and croissants instead of bread as well. As for the atmosphere its great. Being so close to University of South Alabama youll find plenty of college students studying, but there is plenty of space here for people to sit and enjoy their drinks, with tables and couches, and even a separate room where they have their open mic night on Thursdays on top of other events they occasionally throw as well. When it comes to nice coffee shops around Mobile, Satoris cant be beat
Where students artists musicians come together 4 delicious food and drinks as well as a comfortable hang out place
The parking lot was a bit small and so was inside but the coffee was good at a decent price.
Always my go to for a green tea smoothie! A couple of vegan options are available. Eclectic atmosphere and good vibes. =)
Cute, idiosyncratic coffee house. The staff are pleasant. Coffee is okay.Satori has an extensive food menu if you care for a bite to eat.
Love this little place. Great coffee and the staff is very knowledgeable.
Nice relaxing place drink a good cup if coffee. Want to eat something too? They got it!
Great place for college friendly coffee prices. And if youre feeling frisky you can grab a pint of suds too!!! The only down side is that the barbecue place next door constantly smells like spoiled milk and smoke. I saw one of the cooks go outside and pour about a cup of BBQ sauce into the smoker out front by the sign which probably began bellowing smoke everywhere. If someone could get on that it would be great. :)
Nice cozy place. Great place to meet and talk.
Great customer service good coffee just need more snack choices I be back again soon.
Best coffee house in town. Super chill, comfortable and great people.
Quaint coffee shop in a house with tables as well as couches. Small tv at the bar. They serve beer and a few spirits. Coffee and breakfast bagel were good.
Lovely, chill little shop. Friendly service, very cozy. Not a coffee drinker but the tea is fantastic
Our new coffee shop.
This is the quintessential coffee house. Good coffee, great atmosphere. So refreshingly NOT like the generic, sterile chain place.
My husband and I come here when we visit from NC. We love it! Wish we had one back home!
