Always enjoy Safeway, but this time was great. I was in a hurry to purchase my groceries and get home. My debit card had been compromised earlier in the week so I had cash only. When I got to the checkout I was $5 short so I was going to just not buy 1 item. The sweet cashier/checker was so gracious she said shed pay for the rest of my purchase and I could pay her back next time I was in to shop! What a great employee! Im so sorry I dont remember her name but I will recognize her and pay her back soon! Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤

Love Safeway! Always excellent fresh produce, quality meats and brands. Affordably priced for the quality products.The only thing that I have disdain for is the self checkout stands. When I talked with an employee when they were first being installed I expressed my concern that the self check out would replace actual employees the person said they weren’t worried. Now it is rare to see more than one employee on a check stand regularly. 😕

When my wife sends me out to grab something, I always try Safeway first since theyve been the most friendly of all the grocery stores in town over the past few years.

Great service, clean, nicely organized. Pharmacists very helpful. Various departments are great. Tellers are friendly and engaging. Have good covid protocols. My store of choice.Most patrons are great. This would be a perfect place if the few deranged patrons who decide they dont need to mask or wear the mask over their heads or chins would respect the store requirement, sadly there are those who just dont care about others health and well being.

Extremely rude to us doordashers...Ive had multiple bad experiences at completely different locations.. incredibly inconsistent.... Im thinking some retraining is in order....

Safeway. Should rather be named SafePlace, because its where I go when I need to get away from it all. When I need the nonverbal affirmation of a nod from the self checkout employee, this is the place to go. They go the extra mile to at least acknowledge your presence, while at WINCO *cough cough* they try and pretend you dont exist. (I still love Winco though, ngl)

Our favorite place to shop in Moscow. The store is quite clean, the employees are friendly without being overbearing, and the deli employees are arguably the best employees that they have there.Grocery pick-up is fast and accurate.

Really like the people that work at Moscow Safeway. They are courteous and helpful, except the manager, Eric. Its frustrating that the shelves are always low in stock. Yesterday what was left - the fresh cut up fruit was dated the 23rd - 26th. The tomatoes are generally soft. Thank goodness we have Rosauers and Walmart.

This Safeway is clean and nice but the prices are higher than WinCo. Only real complaint is that the checkout system (and often the checkers themselves) is very slow.

Big bakery area and donuts sti available mid afternoon. Deli on opposite end of store, smallest safeway I think Ive been in. Not much variety for single cold drinks, but maybe because theres a starbucks in there. Not a long wait to check out because most people were waiting for self check stands. Lots of parking, clean lot.

A clean and well stocked example of the chain. Deli products are a bit inconsistent, but the bakery and meat department are typically hreat offerings.

I can not understand the reviews claiming this store is clean. Since the pandemic began, this safeway is filthy and unsanitary and infested with anti-maskers. They are also overpriced to an insulting degree and their fresh and frozen produce is usually poor quality.

Its a great store, but covid mask enforcement is almost zero. Beyond a sign. Lots of people inside have no mask. For this reason I will do as much shopping as I can elsewhere.

Your Typical Safeway experience. They do carry a lot of local wines, beers, and cider. Produce is good quality and they just expanded the organic section. Meat department is lacking. Some aisles are a bit tight. Having a Starbucks is a bonus for my wife.

I used to shop here regularly, but even choosing less populated times, I found unmasked patrons were going in and out and exposing staff working at cash registers and other shoppers without consideration for our uneasiness or virus contagion. I will not go back until masking is monitored and enfirced.

Safeway is a wonderful place to shop. Produce always looks fresh, and it has a butcher counter. You can use the pharmacy if needed and overall a great store with great service. A little expensive but you pay for quality!

I have gotten several cakes from Safeway Bakery in Moscow, but it wasnt until this last time that I felt truly grateful. My daughters birthday was coming up and I have just been overly busy at work and wasnt able to make a cake. My daughter wanted her cake from Rosauers and even though I had issues with their customer service and ability to make a cake the way I wanted in the recent past, I had my other daughter call and get a price from them and I was just floored, they wanted a little over $100 for an 8 inch cube cake (just wanted it to look like a sugar cube)! She asked why so high and the girl said that anything over 2 layers is considered a wedding cake, it just blew us away and it certainly was the last straw in our decision to ever go there again.I called the Safeway Bakery and spoke to Evelyn and asked her how much it would cost to do 2, 6inch cube cakes (we changed our idea, originally only needed one cake) with better cream and fresh strawberries in the middle and no decorations. Evelyn was so nice and she gave us a quote that was well under the $100 that Rosauers quoted us and I kept asking her questions like for both cakes? and for cakes that are shaped like cubes? Evelyn probably thought I was crazy and thats fine because, at that point, I was desperate because there was no way I was going to have time to do it myself. Evelyn reassured me that was the price and I thanked her.Evelyn is amazing, she really helped me that day, when I needed it the most. She is also amazing at her job, she has done other cakes for us, all equally amazing, all done very professionally and she is always nice. Im sure youre wondering why I havent taken time to email before, but I think it was just for the very fact that everything fell into place that day and most of it was due to Evelyns willingness to do her job and to make sure, as a customer, that I was happy and she fulfilled that and much more. We will definitely make Safeway bakery our go-to place for our familys cakes from now on, theyre delicious and theyre always decorated beautifully, all due to Evelyn, her talents and her great work ethic.Thank you so much!!Michelle

The coupons do not work. They are a scam. Every time I come to this Safeway, I am always over charged. In this picture, Im being overcharged $1 for ice cream and $0.11 for yogurt (the coupon applied to 5/6 of the yogurts). The one good thing the store has for it is its staff, the workers are wonderful.

Moscow Safeway just lost our business. There were a ton of people not wearing masks and when I mentioned it to the cashier they said “well not a lot we can do about that” - How about not serving customers who don’t wear masks? I called and spoke with the shift supervisor and he did not seem to really care at all either. Going to Rosauers from now on.

The store is always clean and the prices are reasonable. I would like to see the mask mandate enforced there. Its a disappointment to see other shoppers without masks.

Prices keep going up, even with coupons. And while staff is nice, they always seem to have a shortage of cashiers. Expect 5 min wait times when they have alot of customers, even mid morning.

Finally put in self check out lines makes things go faster. And people are very polite.

They are taking proper procedure concerning Covid-19, store is clean and sanitary products at both entrances.

Expensive store been in there 4 different times and still cant get one person who works there to even say hello back. Thank God there is a WinCo here.

I went to Safeway and lost my card before going not sure when did my shopping got in the express lane with my three items and was told they where to busy to sigh me up for a new card and I definitely feel overcharged and like a less important customer and I may never shop at another Safeway again because of this poor customer service and unequal treatment so thank you Safeway in Moscow Idaho but I believe you have lost my family’s business

Moscow Safeway - five starThis Safeway has a fantastic selection; breads, vegetables, fruit, soups, wine, and beer. They have the best plant and flower selection in town as well. The employees at Moscow Safeway or really kind and helpful. If you live on this side of town and dont like driving very far then this is definitely the place to go. As I said the employees are kind and will seek you out if youre by yourself looking confused. They also engage in at the check out and treat you like youre a human being. Bottom line is the employees look like they enjoy working there - you can often see them smiling. There is a really nice guy at the pharmacy - I dont know who he is, but hes awesome. Five stars for the employees at Moscow Safeway.

I really like this store, and this review is going to focus on the Pharmacy. What a great place! The employees are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The customer service is 10 out of 10 every time I have been there...no matter what day of the week and what time of day. Even though they are always busy they come right over to help with anything you need.

Always clean and orderly. Typically get through checkout fast. Some days have less workers so the line can get backed up.

Okay, but try to do your cleaning and restocking at night or before 0800. I couldnt hardly get through all the people restocking the prepackaged deli meat shelves.

Shopped there today. My wife recently had knee surgery. Both electric scooters failed. There were no other options. Everything else was fine, coke sale is no bargain though..

We usually trust the bakery here to have decent baked goods, for a grocery store, but today we bought a dozen donuts and all of the bavarian cream-filled ones were gross. The cream was clearly split and the texture was very off, yet someone in the bakery saw this and decided it would be good to fill the donuts anyway, rather than not being lazy and just re-making it (if they even make it themselves). It was disappointing and we definitely wont be puchrasing donuts from here anymore. Weve had several issues with this store, from rude cashiers (just one older lady in particular) to bad soup that made my husband sick and I guess the split custard donut was the final straw. We wont be shopping here anymore. I would recommend purchasing your over-priced goods at Rosauers or the co-op!

Great store for everything you need. Offers gas rewards at Chevron, and has a Starbucks. Cant beat it unless your looking for rock bottom prices, that they do not have.

Good food. Higher quality and more expensive than Winco. Cheaper than the Moscow Food Coop, but it has fewer locally sourced, fair trade and ethnic food options.

Prices are high, almost worth driving the extra distance to WinCo for cheaper purchases. There was a mis priced tag on a product and the cashier basically told me I either read the tag wrong or it is no longer that price & asked me if I wanted to put it back.

Seems really clean and orderly when youre walking through, the only problem I have is how expensive some of the items are (almost picked up a gallon of 2% that was $4), but other items are pretty cheap so its a hit or miss here.
