We used to love coming here. I am now FLOORED at the customer service and the rudeness of the employees and the owner. The lack of professionalism and the eye rolls and miscommunication of policies is unacceptable. Don’t sell your clothes here. The only excuse the owner gave is that she knew she had employees that were a problem but that’s just how it is in a pandemic and at least she had workers rude or not. They do NOT give money back as the employee stated if something doesn’t fit. We will never be back. I am a business owner and I also work for a small business and when there is an issue that is the fault of the employee or company or even just a communication error, the owner is supposed to make it right for the customer. I don’t take leaving bad reviews lightly but this experience 100% deserves one.

Uptown Cheapskate has quite a lot of interesting clothing and shoes for both men and women, this was my first time visiting and unfortunately I didn’t find anything but I would shop here again. Also a few items were gathering quite a lot of dust for an otherwise fancy used clothing store.

I found so much that I had to put things back! Most items were in great condition with lots of nice brands. Everything was organized well and easy to access. Will definitely be back!

This store is a like the best treasure hunt I have ever been on. I found retro 1993 Air Jordan sneakers in a size 13 for my adult son, premium TORY Burch gold hoops for myself. Had seen this place but had never been inside... lovely place & lots of unique styles for everyone! I had the kids and they got fussy so didnt get to shop much, but will definitely be back & maybe take some things from my closet!

The very best customer service a great variety of clothes to choose from! From women to mens as well as name brands! its very clean,neat and organized. These guys are great at the job theyre doing,definitely go out and give them a try!! An get yours moneys worth !!

I love the store but the experience I receive here is always unpleasant. I came in today to bring some clothes and there girl up front just seemed like she didn’t want to help me. She gave me an hour late ( I came in at 1:30) and I didn’t get called until almost 4. When I got a call I was told none of my items were in good condition. But hey get this ! Half of the clothes I got in there were never worn/with tags. I know exactly why I got treated the way I was. This isn’t it the first time, this has happened numerous amounts of time. Great place but the treatment to minorities is horrible.

I am never shopping at this establishment again, Heck can we even call This place an establishment!The owner is beyond rude! She isn’t a delightful person, and I feel sorry for the employees. The poor kids look completely drained. I knew someone who used to work there and informed me that she’s very unprofessional and unorganized! She yells at her employees and tells store business to customers!I came here to shop, I don’t want to know about employees quitting or who you fired or what’s blah blah blah. I will never step back into that place ever again. She needs to apologize to those present and past employees since she likes to run her mouth and treat people a certain way .

I went in to sell some clothes and the girl at the counter did not feel like looking through all the clothes that I brought and told me that my clothes have a smell... I just wash and laundry all of my clothes before I took them up there so I know that they smelt fresh. She was just being lazy and did not want to go through all my stuff.

Never felt the need to go out of my way to write a review, but this situation has happened multiple times. As I was ready to check out, no one was available to help me- not because I was being ignored, but because there was a sudden staff meeting. I found it extremely uncomfortable, unprofessional, and awkward. Employees were all huddled behind the cash register while I stood there waiting. Not sure what their boss was yapping about but I felt bad for those kids. Luckily no one was in line behind me. Today was something else. The same woman was yelling and yapping for 25 minutes, holding her employees back again! I’m sorry but I cannot come back for another visit.

Overall great experience! Everyone was super friendly and their prices are amazing! I found a pair of *brand new* Free People sandals for under $30- and my boyfriend found a practically new Vineyard Vines dress shirt for under $20- wow! They have great stuff at great prices- some practically brand new. My suggestion would be to carve out plenty of time to allow for shopping and go through every rack. Not coming back. Owner is incredibly rude. Asked an employee for her name, which is lynn. If you’re in store I would stay clear of her if you want to have a good shopping experience. Asked employees if she was always this rude and they all gave me the look of “help us”. Enough for me to decided not to return.

The store overall looks good, nice and clean to be a thrift store, is not your typical depressing thrift store. The selection was really good, my husband and I found some good deals the prices werent bad and if you get them on discount you are up for some good deals, just make sure to try them on before you buy it because there is a no return policy on discounted items. Still Im happy I found some outfits for my job without spending a fortune. One thing is Ill absolutely would love to speak with the owner just for some constructive criticism nothing bad the employees were nice, but there wer a thing or two about girl who charged me that I wasnt too happy about and can help with the customer service.

This was my 1st time visiting this store. I went in without my mask and was approached by a lovely young lady (Bailey) who kindly asked me if I had a mask on me, since they are a requirement for shopping, and asked me if I wouldnt mind putting it on...which I did. She was certainly helpful and informative about their sales going on this weekend and asked me if I had ever shopped there before..clearly I looked lost...and she was extremely helpful and informative. I additionally asked about their buying process and she helped me understand the process fully. Its been a while since I have shopped for clothes in person, but saw the store from Planet Fitness and figured Id stop in and see what they had. I was impressed with the overall store, but was MOST impressed by Bailey and her exceptional customer service and overall store knowledge. I will be back!!

The owner of this consignment shop is absolutely snooty and disrespectful, and her items are WAY over priced! I can buy new stuff for the same price that she has her used items priced for.And as far as your mask mandate... get over yourself. I HIGHLY doubt that hardly any of the young staff members wear them outside of your store when they’re not working. Not to mention the virus (that isn’t even as deadly as the media makes it to be) is not spread just by not wearing a mask, it is also spread by touching surfaces, so unless you plan on wearing gloves, or asking your staff and customers to wear gloves and a bubble suit before they decide to shop in your overly priced store, you’re not doing anyone any favors by asking people to wear a mask. MASKS DO NOT STOP THE SPREAD OF CORONA, the Flu, or any other respiratory illness when it’s not just spread via airborne spores. I recommend you educate yourself more and your staff on the spread of the Corona virus vs the spread of the seasonal flu, and that you stop being snooty and disrespectful to customers that might spend their hard earned money on your expensive items. Being respectful when you’re trying to deliver a message to someone is also something you need to work on as well. You’re old enough to know how to address an adult and how to properly handle situations when someone isn’t following your less than effective mask mandate.Actually, I wasn’t disrespectful to anyone in your store, and PLEASE do not worry, I will NEVER come back to your store. I would rather spend my hard earned money where it’s appreciated. Also, you were rude to me. I am so sorry you are trying to paint a good picture of your nature, but you are sadly mistaken and I am calling you like you acted... RUDE, SNOOTY, and Disrespectful.

The owner is absolutely bonkers. The employees are polite, and helpful, but unfortunately I will never return to the store because of the owner; who is BEYOND rude and not worth a penny of my business. 👍🏻 I would recommend any other thrift store in Murfreesboro before I’d go back here.

Great resale shop in the area! I go at least once a week to see what goodies they have. Come on ladies, you are not gonna make millions off your clothes here but it’s an easy way to get RID of things, and either take the buyout or store credit! Resale is normally priced at a third of what you normally pay for it new. So selling items you will get less. Great professional staff! This establishment is VERY unprofessional. The staff that runs it and the manager are VERY rude to their customers. The manager and the staff like to “fat shame” the customers if they aren’t the “standard size 2” like most of the employees.If you want to be put down then by all means shop here. But if you want to be respected and NOT support a business as unprofessional as this then by all means I definitely don’t blame you. They will never get a penny from me or anyone I know.

I LOVED shopping at Uptown Cheapskate!! The clothes are so unique, I found items I had never seen before. I love the wide variety of clothing styles as well. I myself, enjoy all fashion types but I do prefer a more punk/alternative look above all else. So, I was thrilled when I was able to find items that matched so well to my preference! Especially with a style that isnt found much around tn. This would usually result in me having to order offline. Although, I believe Uptown Cheapskate has solved my problem :)!! Id also like to add that my friend said she had a great experience selling to them as well. I have been nonstop bragging to all my friends about this place and I will continue to do so :)! I cant wait to have the chance to find more amazing pieces!!

Awesome sales.Update....Went back in a few weeks ago, after my fiance who introduced me to the store was killed, and I was telling the clerk about what happened to her and the clerk rings it up and does something I never saw coming. It floored me I didnt even know how to respond. My fiance and I were constantly in there and I know this isnt common practice but the clerk says Im sorry for your loss, I can see how devastating it is. So its on me, hope your day gets better. Like Platos closet but better!

Saw a pair of slightly scuffed Nike shoes for fifteen dollars, came back the next day and the tag was gone. At the register I was told they couldnt be less than seventy. Apparently Google is their only way to know their own prices, or their employees are just incompetent. Either way, not going again.

Absolutely love shopping here. Payne is always so helpful and knows how to dress me and knows what I like can always recommend amazing things super helpful.

I brought some clothes by the other day and while Lynn wasn’t able to buy them all, she was very professional in as to why she wasn’t able to take them. She was very nice. I can’t wait till they open. I highly recommend this business.

I went to sell some items. I was told over the phone that they were taking 11 items my payout was $51. I had about 17 items in all but when I get to the store the manager was recalculating everything saying there was a mixup. She said I was quoted the pay out of two sales. I DONT believe that. I think she heard the guy telling me that and decided to reprice all my stuff so I could get less. They associates kept looking at each other like something was up and the manager stepped in and took over the buy. I declined the offer and took back my stuff. One of my items was a coach bag so how do you take a coach bag plus 10 more items and only offer me $38 but your assistant clearly quoted me $51. I won’t be back in there to sell or buy.

Extremely overpriced. You walk in and it looks just a normal thrift store until you see they want $189 for a pair of common Jordans lol. $1100 for a LV bag that looks like its from the 80s. Mention to owner: trying to look unique by selling items you hardly know anything about but slapping on a huge marginal increase.

My wife stopped in today to see if they were intrested in buying my moms clothes that she cleaned out from her closet. She dropped them off and about 15 minutes they called for her to comeback. Said they didnt want none of it and said they were really worn and needed laundered. First off my mother works at a high profile bank, and always washes her clothing after being worn so I take offense to that remark and alot of it still had tags on it that she never had worn. They seem to only want certain thing for thinner people. So it looks like if you bring in anything it better be top of the line. The young man working there was very nice though. Just not the owner.

The store was busy and I had dropped off a small bag of clothes. the girl at the register said it would take about 35-45 minutes. Me and my mom shopped around for a bit and then went to the car to wait. I asked the girl to call when they were done and she said that was fine. After about 50 minutes, I went back inside to check on the clothes and was informed that there were still 10 people ahead of us. She said my clothes wouldn’t be done until Monday or Tuesday. I just looked at her and said I was informed that it would only take 35-45 minutes and she rolled her eyes and walked away. I’ve been to this location multiple times and have only had great experiences until today. very upsetting. :(
