Not sure how the management of this Kroger has ignored the smell of rotten produce throughout the store all summer but this location smells very unkept. The family trips to the store the past few times has involved a topic of hoping we dont stumble into the wrong kroger, this being the one. I recommend the kroger on Memorial blvd for a while until someone with some say in the matter realizes whats going on.

This our “go-to” store for most of the groceries my family and I buy. We’ve been shopping here about twice a week for the last 2 years and have yet to have a bad experience.Their prices are consistent and their selections on items such as produce, meats, and wines are great. They have a good deli with plenty of selections, and they have a Starbucks inside as well. What more could a person ask for!

After snowing and sleeting for several days there is icy build up on the sidewalks. I was trying to slowly inch up a ramp near Krogers when Eric ( employee at Kroger) noticed me trying to keep from falling and came over and took my arm and helped me get on the store dry pavement. As if this was not enough he told me when I came back to knock on the door where the employees work that does pickup and he would come out and help me get back down the ramp and he did. Its definitely employees like Eric that makes a person loyal to a company or a brand. I was truly impressed with this young man and his character.

When I call to tell them they just want me to drive back over there and get the correct item. Im not paying a service fee to make two trips and your over charging me for something I didnt receive! Between the complete (illogical) rearrangement of nearly the entire store with incorrect/confusing aisle signs, out-of-stock items, and the lack of helpful employees, I will be transferring my meds and only shopping at the Kroger on Veterans Pkwy. Several times when I have ordered they have changed my pick up time to the next day, and then when I come it still takes 35 mintues or more to bring my food out. But today was the last straw when one of the kids who works there came to my husands car and got smart and was talking very disrespectful! And then when I asked for a manager they hung up on me. I always see my Facebook friends talking about how great Kroger but since we dont have any in Maryland I was kinda excited to check this one out while visiting my son in TN. The store is really large and laid out very nicely and I love that they have a Starbucks cafe inside. Hubby and I were just there for coffee and some snacks for our hotel room but once we started looking around we couldnt stop. They had samples of the most delicious pickles I had ever tried - McClures was the name and right by the pickles they had samples of Sharp Cheddar from New Zealand, needless to say, after sampling and walking on to check out other things we ended up circling back and buying 1 of each (we polished both off by the time we left TN 3 days later and now Im going nuts trying to find those pickles in the Baltimore area). On 2 of the days we stopped by they had some sort of Rib Fest going on out front with employees manning grills that smelled heavenly, talk about great marketing. If anyone from Kroger is reading this I plead with you, please bring your stores to Baltimore.

Review №74

The number one reason I am rating this Krogers at 3 stars is because of bagging. Otherwise I have no issue with this store. But seriously, the employees bagging groceries need to go back to training. This includes cashiers and anyone else who lays hands on customers groceries to put in bags. And they need to know how to bag groceries in the customers purchased bags that they have encouraged people to buy! But even in regard to plastic bags there are problems. Either bags are overweight, under used, specialty bags for frozen or refrigerated items ignored, or things are just plain packed wrong with chemical items next to meat and with heavy items placed on top of fruit, vegetables, or even bread. I try to correct things as I see it happening but many times I am unable to catch it in the middle of transacting, moving things out of the buggy, coupons, rewards card etc. My main point is a customer has to trust the person(s) bagging their groceries - that the bagger cares and knows what they are doing and wants to see them get these valuable groceries home safe and sound. Certainly speed is good but not at the expense of ruining groceries. Make an effort to treat people and their groceries as you would like yourself and your groceries treated. No one wants to arrive home and find their hard earned dollars and time wasted on squashed bananas and melted ice cream (which melted because it was bagged next to hot rotisserie chicken).

KrogerI am not one of your team members, my son is, or would have continued to be if it hadn’t been for the luck of the draw. My son started working for the Kroger on Old Fort Parkway months ago, he was hired to work in the deli. After a couple weeks in the deli he was transferred to the bakery. He was excited to work for Kroger, and felt that he was going to stay there until he graduated from college, he’s a freshman at MTSU. It started to become a problem when he was put on nights in the bakery, with no training. One evening he was asked to write on a cake, even though he told the woman he could not she insisted. It was the beginning of the decline in his morale. The bakery manager would give him lists of what needed to get done in his 5 hour shift. He struggled to finish the list within 4 hours and have an hour to clean. His availability was 20 hours a week, enough money for gas and car payment but give him enough time for homework and studying. It is quite possible that the list could have finished within the time allotted however my son did not understand how. Instead of training him on how to finish the task he was occasionally paired with another worker. He was told that he had to have supervision to finish his tasks. Was it that or did it take 2 people to finish? He was then moved back to the deli.He was pulled into the manager’s office for a “disciplinary meeting.” He was supposed to have a union rep but that turned out to be the bakery manager and his “meeting” turned into a bullying session from 3 women. Not once in the meeting was he told how to improve himself, he was just told what was wrong with him. Still he came home and wanted to become a “model employee” his words believe it or not. He went to work the next day only to discover that he was scheduled for a time that he was unavailable, not on the online schedule, just on paper. This appeared to be another reason for him to be disciplined when he did not show up for the Friday shift. He has now given his two week notice. What I don’t understand is how a company can condone a manager, taking an 18 year old and breaking him down. It would have been great if they had built him back up after but that did not happen. There was no feedback on how to improve his efficiency or work on his attitude all areas he agreed that he needed to work on. I will have Kyle reach out to the Union due to his lack of representation at the “meeting” and submit a formal complaint with your hotline.

Love Kroger! The only down side is sometimes they dont have the prices of items posted. I am a very cost conscious shopper, and I wanted the 85/15 ground sirloin 1 pound package, and there was a whole row, but no price posted, the row above was the 80/20 and no price on it either. I also saw a whole table of hand soap with no price. This happens often. Another down side is they hardly ever have newer items, like I wanted those seasoned wrap papers they advertise on TV but they did not have them. I love the salted caramel mocha coffee creamer, and asked the dairy manager to order it, and he did, once! One more thing, a LOT of items are MUCH cheaper at Wal-Mart. Such as those breakfast bowls, my husband loves them, they are $2.49 each at Kroger, and $2.00 at Wal-Mart, quite the difference! Those Edwards pies are $7.99 at Kroger, and just $ 4.97 at Wal-Mart, again, quite the difference. I could list a lot more examples, but.... For the most part Kroger is my favorite store!!

I generally do my best to focus on the positive & only share positive experiences & positive customer service experiences but I promised this unapologetic individual that I would be sure everyone I know hears about their unreasonable behavior & I always keep my promises!! I have been an avid supporter of Kroger & I will continue to support the company as a whole but will NEVER again enter the store located at 2449 Old Fort Pkwy, Murfreesboro, TN 37128. My sweet Daddy has been a type 1 diabetic since childhood. He has a machine that tests his blood sugar & uses needles. He has been purchasing the needles at Kroger because they are a better quality & do not hurt as badly. He goes in tonight to purchase the needles & is told they can’t sell them to him. WHAT?!? He says yes you can, I always buy them here. Do you know why they can’t sell them to him? Because she doesn’t feel comfortable selling them to him?!? WHAT?!! They are needles for a machine, a machine that HE WAS HOLDING in his hand along with his insulin. This is the kindest, most beautiful man in the entire world. He has never done an illegal drug a day in his life. He’s Papa for pity’s sake! He looks like the kindest Daddy on Earth because he is! He looks like the sweetest Papa on Earth because he is! I saw him tonight in his pressed khaki pants, his winter shirt, his vest, his hat and his walking stick. Why does he have a walking stick? Because he only has two freaking toes as a result of this costly disease. There are so many things I will never understand and this kind of idiocy is one of them. She couldn’t answer why she didn’t feel comfortable other than she just didn’t. He left the store hurt & humiliated & that is what makes me cry. My Mama goes in to explain the situation & there was no mortification ...no real remorse... unfortunately for that pharmacy staff, I was in that store. My parents did not know this and as Mama is telling me what happened, I may have gone over there and lost my cool. Only when I raised my voice & told her not to speak was there mortification. You are in the service industry & you are in healthcare, there is a delicate & appropriate way to communicate to others and the individuals in this pharmacy need a class on it. The name of the regional pharmacy manager is Jennifer, they would not give me her number but I intend to find her. I will share the compassion & fabulous customer service I have received at three other Kroger locations along with this disgusting experience tonight. Feel free to call Jennifer & complain as well.
