This morning I called looking for a specific book. When I was told that it was in stock, I asked if it could be bound before I picked it up. When I arrived, less than 15 minutes later, Jared walked over to the counter and had the book sitting right there, all ready to go, before I could even finish my sentence! I have been coming here for years, while my daughters have played piano, viola & cello. The service here is always great! I prefer a local store much more than Amazon. If they don’t have the item I need, they order it and call me when it arrives. Plus, I noticed that they will bring your prepaid orders right out to your car.

We had a truly incredible experience buying my sons first full sized violin at Days. I ended up paying significantly less for a much nicer instrument than I thought Id be able to afford. It is a beautiful violin and everyone in my family wants to play it! I am so, so pleased with this violin and with everyone who helped us find this treasure.

I love DMM! I’ve gone there for years for piano music for myself and my students and to get great pieces for choir and they always have what I need and more. I started violin lessons in the fall and although I got my violin somewhere else years ago I took it to DMM for new strings and a tune up. They were amazing! So helpful with all my questions. They also helped me find a chin rest that works so much better for me. When I went in to get a guitar for Christmas it was fate! I was lucky enough to find an incredible guitar teacher as well! I LOVE my Teton guitar! It sounds amazing and learning to play is the best. I also recently purchased two Teton ukuleles at DMM and the staff was so helpful in finding the music, cases and stands I needed to go with them. You can basically find anything and everything you need at DMM. It’s almost as awesome as going to Disneyland and that’s saying a lot for me. Thanks for being so darn fantastic DMM!!! Shopping local is the way to go!

I have purchased most of my childrens music and most of their instruments (all different instruments) from Day Murray Music. We have experienced wonderful, if not over the top customer service and have always found what we are looking for. If they dont have what we need in stock, we have never waited for more than a week before it arrives.Over the last couple of years I have found three separate amazing music teachers for each of my children (each child playing a different instrument) in the upstairs teaching studios. My children are all progressing quite nicely and I couldnt be more pleased.The teachers will hold music recitals in the Arlette Day Cultural Centre which is directly below the teaching studios and attached to the north side of the Day Murray Music building but it has a separate entrance.As a very busy mom with three children involved in multiple activities, having sheet music, beautiful instruments for purchase, a variety of outstanding teachers and a recital hall in one space is very convenient! Thank you!That said, I do wish that the space where the recitals are held could be brought up to date and more on the modern side. I have so many wonderful videos and pictures of my children performing and in all of my videos and pictures there is a huge wooden door with a glaring exit sign above their head. For starters, may I suggest a black stage curtain to spread the width of the stage? It would allow the performer to stand out and be the focal point against a simple, yet sophisticated back drop . Just a thought. :)

This is the perfect place for anyone who loves music and learning musical instruments. I am usually able to find exactly what Im looking for and a little more. They have a great selection of the violin, viola, cello, and piano music. They have each instrument and ensemble sorted well so they are easy to find, and they are always ready to help find something if you cant. When I strayed away from strings and piano music and got a penny whistle, they had a book to learn that as well. Its in a great location and right next to Adam Day Violins, so I can take my instruments there to keep them in great shape. The staff is always willing to help and recommend great music. I can always find someone who has passion for music like I do.

I started teaching piano in the Salt Lake Area last February. There’s a lot of things to consider when starting a studio in a new place, like pricing, policy, schedule. We have been using Day Murray Music for many years for piano music and when my youngest decided to forge her own path and take violin lessons- we didnt know where to start. Day Murray was there to help us with everything from what violin to purchase to finding her music. Naturally this is also the child who grew like a weed and in 2 years sized up 4 violins. The process of trading in her violin for a size up has been easy because the staff at Day Murray are so knowledgeable and eager to help. We frequently stop in for a quick string replacement on the way to lessons- the strings are fine, its my player who goes through them quickly. If you are looking for a specific arrangement, they can help you find it and also make suggestions for other pieces to try. Some of my daughters favorite books are the ones suggested to us. Shopping at Day Murray feels like going to see a friend.

If you are a ward or stake choir music director, make sure you join their Choral Club. You can thank me later...In addition, they have a large selection instrumental and piano music. They even have a violin Luther (Adam Day), in house, with Day’s Violins. Day Murray Music has the music selection, musical experience and from what I have observed, very low employee turnover. A fun music shop for any instrument. This has been my music store since I first started learning piano. Theyve got a wide variety of music from classic artists through todays pop singers. They have a variety of solos, duets, etc for any instrument you can think of. They also have a concert hall that my teacher used for piano recitals when I was a kid. If youre looking for something they probably have it or can order it in from somewhere. The organization is a little tricky but the excellent staff will help you find anything you need. Just ask!

Mike is a great teacher. I was looking for someone to help me improve my guitar skills, and a friend recommended Mike. He is a knowledgeable and kind teacher who understands my skill level. I appreciate his gentle, but firm teaching attitude, and my playing has improved faster than I had anticipated. I would recommend him for any level of guitar ability.

Wow!! It only took me 5 years of living in Utah to FINALLY heed everyones recommendation to shop here for music. The selection is impeccable, especially their band instrument section. I am a college level flutist and they have music I would actually be interested in, rather than your typical pop and movie music stuff. I will definitely be back.

One of the few stores left where you can actually browse through music to find exactly what you need. Instead of just guessing at what will be best, you can try different arrangements and settings. They have a wide variety of method and repertoire selections for all instruments, along with plenty of accessories like manuscript paper, flash cards, stickers, pencils etc.

I love this music store. They have a hug selection of sheet music from the dabbler to the professional musician: choral music, Suzuki, etudes, scales, pop, classical. They staff knows their stuff and can find anything. They have pianos to try pieces out on if you aren’t sure. There is also a huge selection of ukeleles as well. It is the most comprehensive music store in the valley...plus it is easy to get to from the freeway.

I have been buying piano sheet music here for over thirty years—for me and my five children. Recently four of my five adult children have expressed a renewed interest in playing the piano (one after swearing ten years ago she would never touch a piano again because she hated practicing). I also have seven grandchildren who want to learn to play the piano.I passed on some of the technic books to the next generation, but wanted new and fresh pieces for the adults and one teenaged granddaughter.They also have a huge section for choir music and for seasonal music too.Their employees are all knowledgeable—especially Jared. Very helpful. They really know their business.I usually have the books bound there because it just takes a few minutes and is very reasonable.They have an amazing selection and can order almost anything else you want or need. Items arrive quickly.They have recently remodeled their strings section. They have a practice room and a concert hall. I like their central location. Their parking lot can get full on Saturdays because this is the place to get music!

This store has such a great selection sheet music and some instruments. For anyone who is looking for sheet music in Utah this is the place for you! The staff is very helpful and friendly. Especially during the Christmas season, the store is wonderful.

Day’s is the kind of Mom & Pop shop that needs to be supported so they can be around for another generation. My mother shopped for me there, a piano student back then, in the 1960’s. Now, as a piano teacher myself, I continue to refer my students there. They’re well-stocked and really know their inventory. I’ve hummed songs I can’t remember the name of, and they can help me find it!

This seemed like the ultimate sheet music store. I could have stayed there for several hours. My young daughter loved that they had a whole Disney music section. They also bind your music book if you want for a little bit extra money.

For years I have been using Day Murray Music for all of my music needs. I have several children who have all played various instruments. I perform on the piano and have lead church and school choirs for about 10 years. Jared and his crew are always very helpful, quick, and knowledgeable. I have since moved to Georgia and have not found any place that equals DMM, so I continue to buy from them and have everything shipped to me. I love the recital hall at Day Murray Music. I have held 10 piano recitals here and appreciate that there are 2 grand pianos on the stage. The seating is comfortable and the acoustics are good. The staff are knowledgable. Jared and Clint in particular go the extra mile to help, whether it is ordering a hard to find piece of music or helping a student choose a metronome. They have a great selection of piano and instrumental music, and the violin shop has helped restore several violins for my family. Three generations of the Day Family have kept music alive and well in our community and I encourage all to visit the store for your sheet music, choral music, lesson books, and stringed instrument needs. Im retiring after teaching piano for 47 years, and I thank Day Murray for being such a great partner in keeping their shelves stocked with everything my students have needed.
