Can spend days and days inside and still not see everything. Friendly staff that are mostly helpful and able to handle the awe struck tourists. Thanks to the owners for remaining open. Definitely something to see....

Best gift shop in the world. Take a few hours and just walk around. Stuff everywhere! I love the basement the best! Ive stopped by quite a few times and will continue to come here, even if I just look. I find something interesting and new each time

Packed to the gills. Iconic gift shop built back in the 40’s offering multiple levels of gifts, sovereigns and every kind of collectibles. From mermaids to medieval, nautical to nameplates, seashells to seahorses, Bigfoot to beach accessories, Elvis to everything in between. This place is a maze of buried treasures and one of a kind find. Looking for that simple tourist trinket or that more memorable piece of memorabilia to bring home, shop no further. Nothing more, stop in to just say you have been here.

This really is the a huge gift store! They have just about anything you could ever want. It is very full of product. Its a little bit difficult to find your way around due to the amount of stuff but that is a very minor complaint. Not enough to diminish the experience. Honestly it may even improve the experience for some.

This is a fantastic place. I have to visit here every time I come to Myrtle Beach. The Gay Dolphin is a landmark of the area. Its been around for a long time, and theres always something amazing to find here. I love all the decor that they have to offer, theres artwork, and lots of collectibles. They have something for nearly everyone.

The arcade is pretty nice the staff is great however some of their games have become rather skewed against the player. The claw games in April worked great however now they are too weak to even hold what you are trying to grab. There is a ball rolling game as well that seems to have been changed during my time in Myrtle beach. While I thoroughly enjoyed this arcade in the past if they continue to skew the games against the players to that degree I would likely stop going entirely. I understand it should not be easy but it should be possible.

The BEST gift shop, it is HUGE, there are so many levels in the store even thought it looks small from the outside. I never leave this place empty handed and never skip out on going here while vacationing in the area.

It doesn’t feel like a typical gift shop. I think it’s more like a huge Goodwill or antique shop. There’s so many floors and each has a new theme and MORE stuff to look at. Spent a good 1.5 hours just exploring.

INSANE!! I cant Believe all the different STUFF in this store!! The Levels upon Levels of shopping are incredible!! Never thought Id see a full sized Elvis rockin out, and Indian Chief, and a Yeti all in one store! If youre looking for ANYTHING Nautical to decorate your home with THIS IS THE STORE!! The giant ships wheel, the antique brass divers helmet, and the giant model ships are worth a look on their own!!

Reasonably priced souvenirs. Lots of cute stuff. Knocked one star off only because it was hard to maneuver and stuff everywhere blocking access to some other stuff. But hands down best best best place to buy souvenirs. Plan to spend more than an hour here because there’s so much to see!

This place is iconic. You can get lost and just wonder around in this place for hours. There’s truly something for everyone-shells, clothing, toys, home decor, beach gear… if you can’t find it at Gay Dolphin then you don’t need it. Don’t plan on swinging by here with all your beach gear in hand though. This store is so crammed pack full of stuff it’s hard to maneuver with a backpack or anything like that. They have great prices vs the other Waves or Tides beach shops. If you’re in Myrtle, you HAVE to go to Gay Dolphin!

This review is for the bathroom only. We came on Monday around 12 noon, Sept 13. The place was a zoo. I use to come here as a kid. The staff were were very stressed and high strung. So many ppl in there asking a million questions and I guess the staffs patience had faded. So…thank goodness the bathrooms were available and pretty clean cause I wouldn’t want to review anything else I saw.

This store is a must see every time Im Im the area. Theres always new stuff and there are SO many floors, coves, and layers of stuff to peruse. Yoy can spend over an hour in here easily. Theres truly something for everyone and every occasion. Items are mostly fairly priced. Beach decor, lake decor, fairies, dragons, sea animals, kids toys, alligator skeletons... its all under one roof. I highly recommend coming by and checking everything out. Its really a cool experience.

The only reason I docked a star was because of how the store is set up. It can get very crowded/cluttered with not many places to step aside if needed. You also would not want to walk up and down the twisted staircase if you had a few too many to drink. Otherwise, I take all my visiting friends and family here. They have so many neat things. I love the foil framed art. They make perfect gifts. I also enjoy talking to the shark tooth man about his cat and his shark tooth collection. When I cant identify a tooth, I go to him since hes the expert. I think the name gives it character too.

You cant visit Myrtle Beach and not visit the Gay Dolphin at least once. They have gifts for everyone on your list and it is so much more than just t-shirts. Youre sure to find something for even the hardest to buy for, and itll be at a price you can live with. The store is really big and navigating it requires a good sense of direction and humor, but should you get misplaced, the friendly staff will redirect you. I always enjoy this store.

This place is HUGE! Definitely have a wide variety of gifts and souvenirs. Cashiers are on every level for easy checkout. Bathrooms are small but ok. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The only downside to our visit was not being able to find a size in the specific t-shirt my son wanted. But, we will try again next time.

Very unique and iconic gift shop. Probably the most interesting shop in Myrtle Beach. They have everything you can imagine. Lots of unique and odd gifts, curios, and knick-knacks. Something for everyone.

Love this store! You can get lost in here for hours. My one suggestion is not to bother with the mystery bags, they are very disappointing. I bought one in the jewelry section which was filled with womens gold and silver jewelry, then I ended up getting a cheap shark tooth necklace that was clearly meant for a guy. Obviously its my fault for falling for it, but just a warning to future shoppers!

Probably the most fun gift shop at Myrtle Beach. This long-time fixture is always a favorite place to find all sorts of great souvenirs. The staff is helpful as well. Honestly the store has so much to see, its a little overwhelming. You probably need to give yourself a minimum of an hour to even just get an overview of the whole store. Also a good idea to try to see a bunch of stuff in the area and use their pay lot ($8 for the day).

Was a stop we planned to make on out trip from the beginning. Store just has a huge selection, shells, dragons, rocks, souvenirs, handmade crafts, local and unique stuff. Definitely worth a visit. Only photo I have is of table I liked but just an idea of how unique stuff can be 😅.

This place is my familys favorite store at the beach. The workers are nice but the stuff there is always so cool or funny or interesting. Its a tad pricey but going there just to look at stuff is fun too. I almost always end up buying something. Such a cool little giant knickknack shop.

Always love stopping here! Mostly because it is rooted so deeply into my childhood. It has not changed. Also, there are literally million of souviners to choose from. Its right on the boardwalk and they have everything. Prices are very reasonable and its a cool multi level building. If youve never been its a cool novelty place and if you have been its an awesome trip down memory lane.

WoW! The Gay Dolphin is... hard to describe... but it is a absolute must see when you are in Myrtle Beach. This place is humongous and filled above maximum capacity.It’s is almost like a weird museum where you can buy things! We bought a few souvenirs but the best memory is in our minds.Kudos to the owners that have been able to keep this place alive and intact for so long.Don’t miss your chance to come into the Gay Dolphin!

The 4 stars is for the entertainment value of visiting the Gay Dolphin. The many strange levels of winding paths through hoarder heaven. All of it iconic and cheesy. This is classic Myrtle Beach, SC! Make sure you peek down the stairs into the Off Limits basement. Strange things waiting their turn on the shelf!

This store is an EXPERIENCE!! I walked in to pick up a couple souvenirs for friends. There are so many hidden (and affordable) gems here. Whether you are shopping or just window gazing, this is a great place. Highly recommend going all the way to the top of the store. This reminded me of The Secret Garden, except a gift shop version. Its easy to get lost in the exploration and find out youve spent an hour instead of 10 minutes.If you need any gifts for friends, do not miss this place. The cashier was very friendly and helpful! My family and I love this place. I frequented here as a kid and now to bring my family here is a lot of fun. It has a variety of trinkets and keepsakes. They have something for everyone, if you want a good hunt, the place is maze like. Like finding shells or sharks teeth on a Beach, you sift through tons of stuff to find your one, or multiple in our case, true gem that means the world to you. I actually found everything to be a great price compared to other stores. My daughter and I loved the Shark Tooth Guy’s stand inside the store. It will forever be treasured by our family and will for now on be a tradition to always visit this one true family owned business!Thank You Gay Dolphin owners and workers for keeping the fun alive!!

I wasnt impressed with this place at all. When the family and I went to research the must-see places in myrtle beach for our trip, this was on the list. This place is HUGE. You wouldnt expect it from what you see on the outside. They have an upstairs and downstairs and then downstairs to the downstairs. It has just too many things going on and a lot of mostly junk for sale. I didnt see the appeal of the place at all.
