We had storm shutters and windows changed in our home renovation. Overall the install with Storm Smart was good and we are very happy with the product. It took 2 months more than expected for the install though. We have used Storm Smart for service since we had the shutters and windows installed.... their service is poor and pathetic. We have yet to have a service call repair in one visit...always two or three!! Scheduling visits is an issue also; you get put out months and then IF they show up, they arent prepared for the entire fix. They dont follow up so we are constantly chasing them to get the job done. This last service call, the service man scratched his chin and looked dumb founded. Wasnt sure what was wrong and when he left, we were told they would call back to schedule. We had to call them and now service isnt until 8/12. We originally called in May to be scheduled in early July. Very frustrating!!
We have a new installed system with a problem and have no response from the service department. I would never recommend this company
I had hurricane screens installed by Storm Smart. I am unable to comment on the actual screen product, but customer service for this company is horrible. The bad reviews are correct. They dont show up on time and they dont respond to phone calls. The electrician was a nice person but grease was left behind on my oriental rug, so I called and had to leave a message since no one ever answers the phone. I never heard back. The installer was supposed to be here between 8-10 and didnt show up till afternoon and then couldnt complete the job in one day as I was promised. The next day the installer shows up late and I couldnt be here for rest of the installation. Installer leaves us two remotes for the screens and a piece of paper regarding app, which is does not have instructions. There are other companies out there and I would definitely go elsewhere.
I ordered hurricane shutters and supposed to be here in September. So it was October 28 when they came to install. Electrical people showed up at 8 and off to good start Keaton came about 10 to install shutters. Problems after problems. He finally they measured wrong and he had to make adjustments. At 6pm he still wasn’t finished, but said he’s come back on Saturday to finish... which he did. He was here 4 hours. Showed me in remote how to move shutters up and down. Side panels are stationary. On Tuesday night they would not go down. After waiting 3 hours, I tried again and success. I called on Tuesday night and left a message. No return call on Wednesday. Thursday... same problem and now I notice a glitch near bottom on left side. Call again and leave message. Samantha calls me back, but I miss the call. No follow up call- no apology. Supposed to be 2 inspections- I ask about inspections on my voice mail. No return calls. I call again and talk to Stephan- he writes everything down and says he sill email it to someone. Nothing. I send a reply email on invoice ( I paid balance in full on Sat November 1) Nothing. I have now contacted my credit card company for dispute as I said I would do in both voice mail and email.Very frustrating. My friend had an excellent experience with this company. Mine TERRIBLE
Storm smart Naples is poorly responsive, unclear on timing and left my home dirty and damaged rug and flooring during installation. After much time, we where able to use the storm screens successfully for two months. Already calling service. The only department that was responsive and timing was billing.
The hurricane shutters were scheduled three times. The first two times, they just didnt come as scheduled. The third time, the TECHNICIAN WAS SPECTACULAR. And he had to clean up a mess because it was cut wrong. My husband wrote an email to the CEO, we put in countless calls to no avail.The original install date was to be July 7. We still dont have the final inspections done. They have a great product and horrific service. The only time we had communication from them was when the bill was due even though the work hasnt been done.They were highly recommended to us. Sadly, they have fallen down on nearly every front.
UPDATED: 16April2021: Called 4X, last two no responses. Screen does not go down and Tech said a known issue with the mechanism and they would have to replace the mechanism with the new one as they are aware the ones we have are defective. (has a rope and rope entangles and also damages the screen.) Hoping someone responds.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Hurricane Screens: Responsive, higher cost than competing company with same ratings, but trusting reviews and a couple current customers. Large screen is not consistent (May come down all the way, may not, and MAY go up all the way or may not.) Ill ask them to look at it again in 2 -3 months. Out of Hurricane season so not an issue till June tolls around.
I decided to go with storm smart because I wanted a headache free installation. It was everything but. I ordered hurricane impact windows in June of 2020 and in December the finally had every delivered. They install 3 obscure widows that had a manufacture defect, it had caulking smeared throughout the inside of the window pane and could not be cleaned. And ordered a wrong type of window for a different area. So I reached out to them to have them fixed and its been dragging out. Now it 1/29/29 and Im still being told they are reaching out to the manufacture to replace glass. Installers did a decent job but they did damage the inside wall in my kitchen.
Need service as shutter will not close. Three telephone calls, three website chats, and three website service requests. NO RESPONSE! What good is a product if you cant get service, let alone the courtesy of a call back. UPDATE! just called again. Samantha answered told her the story, she Did not apologize (Customer Service 101). She did however give me an appointment more than 1 month away!!! Yikes!
We love our new motorized Storm Screens. The ability to see out is wonderful. People can not see in. The entire process was wonderful from deciding what we wanted, to the scheduling and finally the installation. They even schedule to two county inspectors for us!
UPDATE: Storm Smart tried to finish the job only to have one more thing go wrong. Within a week they made it right and the job is now complete.The installer was very professional and pleasant and he did a great job.I am changing my review to 3 stars because they made it right. First review: Thought I was choosing a top notch company. My experience has been absolutely horrible. From the HOA application process (they made multiple errors, multiple times on the application which led to WEEKS of delays), to the installation process. Where do I start... First, they didnt cut them to the correct size and other issues.....And, more delays. Very poor communication within the company as to how to best install the shutters. Just short of blaming each other for all of the issues. Today is their 3rd attempt to install my roll down shutters. So far, they are 4 hours late without even the courtesy to notify me that they were running late. Not to mention all the other windows of time frames I had to be here for them to re-measure, etc. I will update after the attempt to install today.
I suggested Storm Smart to my son for windows and I guess the person was a no show.
My job was completed today.Everything worked out with Doug and he did a great job with the follow up completion of the job after inspection.Thank you to Gene for the professional and caring installation on my house.And from the start with Dominic in Salesto the follow up with all the girls in the officeAnd the finish With Doug.....🙂🙂 All around a Great Experience 🙂🙂I Highly Reccomend Storm Smart.......Not just smart........Its Genius.

Jose was amazing and did the entire installation of the storm catcher screens in my Lanai by himself in 1 day. The roll down screens are encased in boxes and the entire job was done neatly and professionally. I am very pleased with the service and product.

This is the WORST company I have ever dealt with. It took me two years with six trys on getting my screen installed correctly. Their workers took numerous times taking measurements that ended up being wrong. The excuses were unbelievable. It took me asking for a full refund before low and behold they had a new screen made within two hours and installed it. It remains to be seen if it will work correctly.
