They say that they provide better service than the big box hardware stores but that’s not correct. When you walk in no one asks if you need help. They have a very limited supply and can’t even re key a lock. Your better off to just go to Home Depot. They have the stock and have people who like to help you!

While this is my go to local hardware store, I am finding it increasingly more difficult to find what I am looking for. Inventory levels seem to be dwindling and common items are often out of stock. Employees need to be more upbeat and helpful to keep this local resource viable.

Went to the small parts shop, very helpful. They helped me understand what parts I needed and how to fix it when my parts come in.

Its too bad that when I walk in here I am harassed to wear a mask. It would be nice if people could think for themselves and realize its a non-issue. If you want to wear a mask to feel better, cool, great, do it. I choose not to. I prefer to shop at places that do not harass me to wear a mask which has no legitimate scientific proof of stopping the spread of a virus. I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. I have a right to choose and to live freely. I will not be controlled by a propaganzied virus.

I was very disappointed in my visit there today. I went to buy a drill and some kid who wasnt working there(had no uniform or anything identifying himself as an employee), he was taking to a blonde guy there and apparently the blonde told him to help me and he disappeared. He had someone page for assistance for me but no one came after waiting 15 minutes. I will tell my friends not to shop there

Was looking for a couple of items (my employer has an account there) and the staff were really helpful, even offered to carry my bag of oil-dri up to the register for me! Much better customer service than WalMart! 😂

I typically try to shop at locally owned stores when possible... its getting more challenging everyday. Kruegers has a level of customer service mindset that is hard to come by anywhere else...and Ive actually found several products that I use that Ive noticed are not available at places like Lowes and Home Depot on the occasions when I am in one of those larger stores. Ive used their small engine service center for multiple pieces of equipment, purchased new and used small gas engine equipment (lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc) from them. To be honest, I really dont shop around for that kind of thing anymore as Ive found dealing with a business I trust is worth the time I save.

Nice place, friendly knowledgeable staff that will help you find hardware of choice... Free popcorn, U-haul rental/retail on the site, bring your dog if it is leashed and well behaved! I have been there many times .... actively involved in community efforts.... Have seen girl scouts / boy scout selling cookies/popcorn fundraiser stuff there inside and outside of the building... Need I say more? Go get your hardware on ⛏️🪓✂️📌📐⛓️🔩🔨🛠️🖌️

I will not shop there again. Ask 3 times to get assistance by the lights area. First she only knew about paints, but I could go to the front of the store and ask. So I go up to the front, checkers talking to friend for a bit, then worked on register, then asks if I needed anything. I said we needed some help in the lights, aisle 8. So she called for assistance over intercom. No one came. I went to ask direction for bathroom at service desk in the back of store. I also stated we needed help by aisle 8,as no one had come to help yet and my dad was waiting there. He never looked up, just told me where the bathroom was, which was out of order. There was a nice man in the break room who showed me the other bathroom. Needless to say no one ever showed up to help. We left and bought what we needed at Walmart.

Went in to get paint matched. Started by saying I know it wont be exact I dont care just as best as you can do will work and I only want a quart not a gallon. Employee wants to then sit and debate with me about how touch ups are the hardest trying to get me to buy a whole gallon, but like i said from the start i didnt care if it was exact close was good enough. Then he went on about how its really hard to match exactly im just trying to lower your expectations when i let my expectations be known up front. Then hes going to ask me about brands and a bunch of little things until I just gave up and took my business to a big box store. I tried to take my business to a small business but they employees (at least in paint on 5/14 around 1 pm) will stall and upsell and not care until the customer goes and does their business at the next place. Its sad to see how this place has gone downhill.

My husband and I are remodeling our master bathroom and we needed to match paint that is about 15+ years old. I went to True Value in Neenah and was happy to see Brad (the paint guy) there. He spent about 30 minutes with me and matched the paint perfectly! You cannot tell where the old paint ends and the new paint begins. True Value is very lucky to have him. Thank you, Brad! You made our DIY project just that much easier!

Walked in to buy two new weber grills, was harassed to put on a mask. Nope, my choice.Off to home depot. Too bad, I wanted to do locally owned, but not now. Sad.

Its easy and convenient but prices are outrageous, better off buying from some other hardware store and saving yourself a few dollars per item

I needed a locking nut for my lawnmower wheel yesterday, and the man that assisted me got me exactly what I needed! Today I had to go back because I needed a new blade for the same mower. The same gentleman helped me with exactly what I needed again! I wish I had gotten his name, because he deserves recognition and a raise! I love this store! They always have what I need.

Great customer service, good prices, convenient. Given the choice, I tend to shop here over larger retailers in Appleton or Oshkosh. When you are looking for advice on what to get, the workers can always point you to the right item and help you understand how to complete your project.

Not one worker was helpful yet all standing around. Asked where the tape measures were alls the kids said was in the tools. Really it is your job to help when a customer asks you. Not even one person at the check out and the manager sitting in his office eating a sandwich watching it all go down. Never have I seen such horrible service.

One of the only hardware stores where the men who work there don’t raise eyebrows at the supplies I buy. (I tend to fix things in my home myself). Knowledgeable paint department. Always a nice place.

Went to get some supplies and because I can’t wear a mask due to being a veteran with PTSD I was refused entry into the store. Apparently having a handicap does not fit their agenda. I have been shopping here for over 35 years. The owner wasn’t even wearing one, it was hanging over one of his ears but not his face. When I called the store, the management doesn’t know the HIPA laws. I will not be shopping here anymore and will take my business to Brazees ace hardware from here on out

Always love coming to this hardware store. the staff is always more than willing to help you. Even when you dont know the name of what your looking for but you can give a description of what it is there always happy to help you find it or help you find something close to it without making you feel stupid.

Found what I needed, though my torch hose was 9$ more than I expected due to online price only which I wasnt aware of. Jim one the owners who always will give you the time to explain what it is your project may be, had no problem giving me the discount price without the hassle some other places do.

Employees are scarce, slow, and arent knowledgeable about products they carry or where the products may be; completely unmotivated. It has slowly spiraled downward over the last 10 years. A result of lack of competition.

Awesome place! Love being able to choose the quantity of hardware I need and bag it for purchase. Also, my son loves to eat your popcorn and sit quietly on your dog beds while I shop.

This place was great 6 years ago. Now every entity has the worst customer service. The tool rental rented me a plumber snake and didnt have the correct size auger bits. They issued me a refund which never showed up on my bank statement. I go there to buy 3 or 4 items and one item on the list cant be found. That has happened three times. The inventory guy should be replaced. So i i have to go to another hardware stor, i dont even shop there anymore because of it. . Btw, there are a few other hardware stores to choose from. Yesterdsy I had my lawn mower picked up and they stated they couldnt service it until the middle of next week. The employees seem very disinterested. The small engine shop was the last part of Kreuger s i actually liked. I am finished with this poorly managed hardware store. Bye

Went to rent a trailer, everyone was just standing around, the prices were pretty high and when we went to check out, the checkout girl made annoyed sounds but was just sitting there when we left, didnt look friendly at all. Then when we went to check out the uhal trailer, the guy wasnt personable and pretty stand offish. He kept saying the wrong information but overall wasnt a good experience.

Love coming here! If they dont have it, theyll order it, and the store is always so clean and orderly. Plus, well-behaved dogs on leashes are always welcome! My dogs Love coming here, too.

Checkers were great!! Guy in back of store couldnt bother to help us find what we wanted. Told us look in the aisles over there. We found it on our own. Thanks for nothing, customer service is not your thing sir!

Waited for over a half hour in the small engine shop and no one came out to even acknowledge I was on the other side of the employee door. Which had a window in it. Multiple employees were just on the other side of the door. Finally left. Wont be going back, which is a shame since Im a homeowner and theyre the closest shop.

Always helpful and patient for those of us who dont know much about DIY subjects. I always feel like I learn something useful whenever I shop at Krueger True Value. Friendly staff and great prices also a plus, of course.

Yes, you may pay a little more, but they have everything and the people are great. You dont have to travel 12-15 miles to a big box when your doing a home repair or remodeling. Ive been shopping here 27 years and they havent failed me yet. I bit higher price is made up in gas savings! I love making the trip to Krueger Hardware.

The cashiers are the most unpleasant people I’ve had check me out. So rude and seem to hate their job as they’re monotone and can’t even bother to make eye contact.Unfortunately Neenah doesn’t have many options for a quick stop other than True Value otherwise we certainly wouldn’t shop here anymore.

Owner is strong on customer service. However, small engine repair shop, not strong. Brought mower in for blade replacement, 3 days later, arrived home to find the self propel and belt were not working. Belt smoked, self propel not functioning. Worked when I brought it in. Called them with questions and was told that the model I have has a very exposed underdeck and that was likely the cause. They could not do anything. Seeking service elsewhere.

Great selection for a moderately sized store. Prices are a little higher than the big box stores, but its much closer, and the staff are more interested in getting to know you and your projects.Theyre also dog friendly, so you can swing in while youre walking your pet!

I went in to the small engines Dept. to get a spark plug for my snow blower... Also I needed a new recoil. The man told me that a new recoil would cost $49.08. Then he asked me if I had taken the cover off the recoil? No, I replied. Do that first and bring it back to me and I will restring it for you!... That way it will only cost you like $10.00

I own a local painting company in Neenah, WI and when I first started out, most of the Krueger True Value staff befriended me and treated me like family. After years of coming there I made Benjamin Moore our paint brand of choice and have enjoyed my growing friendships with Brad the paint manager and his staff. I hope I have impacted them as much as they have impacted me.

My favorite hardware store. The clerks are helpful and knowledgeable. They offer to help before you ask. Kruegers is a modern store with old time service. The free popcorn is great too.

Great Hardware store. Been shopping here for for 45 years. The Webb family has done a great job in keeping the personal service going in the world of big box stores and internet/online purchasing.

Horrible customer service, have to walk around the whole store to find someone to help you, then what you need is either not carried or out of stock. Was rudely kicked out for not having a mask after I was already in the checkout line with a bag of dog food. Last straw, will never go back. Brazee ace isnt much further down the road!

Keep expecting items to be far more expensive there, but am often surprised. Bought patio furniture, a grill, a pressure washer and a lawn mower and all were very competitively priced. Other, smaller, convenience items are priced at a premium, but if all I need is a few bolts, its worth saving a trip to Appleton or Oshkosh. Plus, FREE POPCORN! :)

I love this place. I compared the prices of the items I was going to purchase, to the best prices online. Including Amazon, Ebay, Walmart and home depot. Krueger beat every price. The staff was helpful and actually knew what they were talking about.

I was only looking for one item, was presented with two choices, made my selection, paid for it and was back in my warm car in short order. All good.

Came in for 3/4 galvanized pipe pieces that needed to be cut to size and threaded. The sales person was very helpful and personable.

Place is well mapped out. Easy to find everything you need. One of the biggest true values Ive seen. They are mask nazis, will be boycotting. I cant watch an old man forced to remove his o2 tubes to put on a mask.

Customer service was not prompt and were very particular in getting me the Wrong part rather than listen to know what I needed. The prices were a bit high as well: the nearby hardware store is definitely cheaper.

Horrible service. I returned my snow blower for service ad they screwed up and had the starter wire hanging down and it for caught in the blower and snapped. Also my left wheel falls off which it hadnt prior to taking it to them. The guy with the bad tupa (fake hair) was rude. I left a message with store manager and he wad awesome and I got my machine returned. Manage said he spoke with fake hair guy and he said my blower was fixed Friday but they didnt have time to calm me, pathetic yah since were getting 12 inches if snow

I had the worst customer service humanly possible. I was completely ignored 3 times by the same employee and when I reported it to the manager and said that I would not be shopping there ever again, the manager told me not to over react and then walked away.

This is an excellent hardware store when your inside the main building. Their small Engine depot is a different story. The staff is rude, lazy, uneducated and generally sub par. That said I cant rate the whole place down because if one departments innepitutide. If you need small engine parts or service dont waste your time or your excedrine.

Its nice to have a hardware store in Neenah. Pricing is higher than the Home Depots of the world, If you have a bigger project suggest the chain stores for those projects. If you are just doing small projects then the cost savings of driving to Appleton is not worth it. Three stars because customer service for a locally owned store is not great, at the checkouts everytime I would be checking out I would get some teenager that did not have good service skills, would never say thank you for shopping here etc. In the aisles the service might be a little bit better, Honestly I have had better service at home Depot, Lowes. These smaller stores need to step up because they cannot use the better service card when they dont have that card against the big boys of the world. This is just my experience and another review may give great remarks about service. It just depends who is working, the mood of the employee etc. Store is clean and well lit with good variety.
