The corporate office needs to revisit this store. Last three visits have been the same...no carts available inside the store but plenty in the parking lot (many are broken); empty shelves; few employees at check out. Store is dirty with plenty of bugs in produce area. Day of week doesnt seem to be a factor since I rotate my scheduled visit. Its obvious that curbside pickup is now a priority but that doesnt work for everyone.
We have always had good experiences when visiting this Kroger store. As it is not our “neighborhood” store, we only occasionally make it over to this newer, larger location for its variety. This weekend we experienced exceptional service when we had a request met from the bakery. They special-ordered in the ingredients needed so we could get the tasty donuts we wanted for our event. Ordering was easy over the phone and pick up with Teresa this morning was great. Then check out was made easy with personal help at the self-check out line. Pleasant, cheerful and helpful all around.Hard to find enough help sometimes and not only do they seem to have that, but also great people!!
Why is this place so huge?! It’s so crazy. Their produce selection is definitely top tier! You can definitely find pretty much anything you’re looking for in this mega store!
I only shop here when we go visit our son and every time theres always lots of carts left full of groceries all throughout the store, refrigerated items like milk, hamburger, steaks, salmon & so on... and NEVER no-one doing nothing about it, they just sit...so could someone please explain? Do they put it all back after hours of sitting? Or throw in garbage? Either way what a waste smh! And they always only have you scan open, so if you buy a lot of items youve got to check yourself out & the lines horrible, had to get jammies for my grandson and they cost 44.99. REALLY? way to take advantage of people, do their job & still overcharged, glad this isnt my usually Kroger but, definitely the worst Kroger Ive ever been to :-(
I have to do curbside pickup and have had some bad experiences from the store being short on staff and not communicating. However, I took the extra step to avoid finding myself in the same situation .. I have come to find out their morning guy in charge of curbside, Austin, is doing his best to stay on top of things and is very pleasant to work with. Thanks to him, I know that my groceries are ready for pickup and what issues are with filling my order before I get there. Thank you Austin for caring enough to take the extra step. I am glad I don’t have to come in the store with my baby who is just getting over RSV. I’d give Austin 5 stars.
I tried to take my handicap/senior patient to this Kroger today. Upon me walking in to get an electronic scooter for her Im shocked by how many are sitting there looking available. This never happens usually there arent any at all. There were 6 on one side of the store and 3 on the other. I tried every single one and not 1 of them worked. After spending 10 minutes doing that I went to the parking lot to see if there were any out there. There wasnt any outside, I had to go back to the car and tell my patient I was going to have to go in without her. While I was walking back in an elderly couple, both needing an electric scooter in order to shop had been through the same thing as me. They told me they were going to have to leave and not be able to shop because they physically cant walk the store. Kroger you need to do better and think about your handicap and senior customers. There is absolutely no reason why this shouldve happened.
Had plenty of stock, good sale price, quick checkout.
I tried to use the self check out on the far side of the store at 8:44 on a Monday night. There were 4 people checking out and 3 people behind me. The main self checkout had a line half way into the store aisles. And of course, anything not self checkout was closed. A store clerk walked up and told me they were closing the self checkout I was at and next one for. I asked why and she said its almost 9:00. I pointed out that was 15 minutes away and the other line was deep into the store. She said shed call someone, turned, and went back to shutting down the registers. I dropped my items and left.If I could give them a zero I would. The worst Kroger Ive ever been in and Ive been in many, many stores across Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. I will drive 25 miles out of the way to avoid this store.Sidenote: Hey Kroger - PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES A LIVING WAGE & STOP TREATING THEM LIKE THEYRE LESS THAN.
Have given up on this store. Third time in a row I’ve given up checking out because only three registers open and just a couple of self checkout stations on a Saturday afternoon. No management personnel ever visible. Face it, Kroger, maybe it’s time you increased wages enough to avoid this or schedule more people to work. How can they ignore lines of people 30 deep and think there’s not a problem?
This place is pathetic. Theyre so cheap theyre willing to let 20 customer stand in line at the self checkout instead of just opening other registers. Happens almost every time I shop here.
Really enjoy shopping for groceries at this store since they expanded. The store feels open and spacious. The selection is expansive and you can purchase items beyond the traditional grocery goods. Particularly enjoy the wine and spirit selection. Very nice one stop shop.
I dont know what is going on lately at this kroger, but there is never anything on shelves, there is never any carts, and if if there are it is a huge surprise, there are never any lines open and lines are literally down aisles, there is never any mangers to help or at least it seems. I understand a job shortage but it is to the point where I would drive out of my way to go somewhere else lately
2 cashiers and no baggers on a Saturday. Is has been happening more frequently. I’m going to Wal-mart! At least their self-check out is an easier process.
This is the Kroger nearest to us and we frequent here, but until something changes we are not coming back. Lines in every lane all the way back to the fridge. Its getting super neglected and dirty obviously from being understaffed. I dont blame the employees because theyre always perfectly helpful and friendly. But somethings gotta give.
If you dont want to die of old age waiting in line then dont step foot in here. Literally 30+ plus waits in lines if you dont come before the sun comes up.
Day before Grand Opening and sales galore! This Kroger is on State Street in New Albany, Indiana. Free ham to the first 500 people in door starting at 8 AM 9-14-27. Well stocked and ready and new clothes area, too.Kroger sponsored the Coca Cola Caravan and Santa on Dec 6th in the New Albany Plaza. It was beautiful and had Santa taking pics with kids and adults alike. It was fun for all. Coca-Cola travels all over US with their lit up tractors and trailers to brighten the day for every one and share a Coke.Kroger has all your special decorating needs. Several different kinds of Nutcrackers and light up snow globes. You will see the Christmas tree and presents as you come in the doors. There is so much more than a beautiful grocery store!
This Kroger is Ridiculous!!!! If you come later in the day they are mostly out of stock of ALOT of things … people like me who have children and a job are not able to get to a grocery store until later in the day and it is very frustrating to not have what I need !!!! Who wants to go to more then one store because you all are always out of stuff
10:00 at night and 30 people ahead of me in the u scan. No other lanes open. Might as well get an employee discount if Im going to have to do everything myself and wait 40 minutes for the privilege.
This store used to be so good, but its gone to trash. Theres less stuff on shelves now than there was in the early days of the pandemic. Only one set of self-checks is ever open, and lines are too long to bother. The last three times, Ive left without buying anything for those reasons.
25+ minutes in check out line every time I’m here. Won’t keep making that mistake. Literally just watched people leave there stuff and go because it was taking so long.
Pros: huge selection, a few of the employees are friendly.Cons: Extremely under staffed, lines a mile long everyday, horrible management on the front end, employees are always stressed out to the julius maxx and it shows. Definitely an obvious management problem. Im really getting to the point where I hate this store. They do their employees dirty and we all pay the price for it. I honestly believe this store would be 100% better if they just replaced that one (redacted) in the red vest.
When and if this store implements some major improvments with their customer service I will try them again but until then, I WILL NOT EVER go back here!!! Unfortunately, I have to drive across town now to the other Kroger locations. This one is awful :( Im not standing in a line for 25-30 mins just to get a gallon of milk and a few things to snack on. For the 3rd time in the last 3 weeks I put my things down and walked out and drove to Walmart instead.
Rarely have items I need, I prefer self checkout however they never have both sides open. BE PRAPARED TO WAIT TO CHECK OUT AT LEAST 15 MINUTES
This is a large modern store with a large selection including clothes. Their pickup service is very poor and I have stopped using it. It is normal to wait 30 minutes after arriving before your order is brought to your car, even after being told it is ready.
Selection is excellent and produce is in good shape. Check out can be incredibly slow. Often theyll have an individual still standing directing traffic even when the only lane open is backed up. Click list is pretty unreliable as well with scheduled times being pushed back to later in the day or even the next.
Very friendly staff (produce associate educating shoppers on a different variety of tomatoes). I drive from Louisville (not too far) to shop at this location, even though I have 2 locations near my house!! Self check out associate very helpful and diligent. Oh, and I almost forgot, the store has an associate helping out customers in the parking lot!! I was so impressed, I couldnt coordinate my ideas to say yes. I said thank you. But totally unexpected. I need fuel and without a doubt that store associate will be nice and helpful as well. Just awesome!!
This location continues to go downhill. They’ve over crowded the aisles and made it difficult to navigate and the check out lines are ridiculous. I hear the cashiers and bagger complain about how they’re treated.
Change my rating to a 1 cause yesterday went in there and at check out they only had the you scan open with the line all the way past the banana isle I call bull you know what
Only two lanes are open at a time, with incredibly long lines everytime Im there, like they only really rely on self checkout (which self checkout is nice when you only have a few things, not a whole weeks worth of groceries in the cart). And it seems as though they are continually thinning their selection of items within the store.
Very clean and caring
The store itself is very clean and stocked great. My only real issue comes from employees and Managers including the Store Manager. I was told by a Deli worker she would not help me because me having facial piercings and long hair means im a satanist. Not sure if she still there but yikes, stay away from Michelle B.Dont get in the floor cleaners way, he screams and yells if you are in an aisle he is going to be going through soon and the Store manager said they werent going to bother answering my question cause im just a kid. (To put in context I am 30 years old but many people think i look 18 or 19) I was asking for the location of a corkscrew for Wine bottles.
Trevor at the self checkout carries this store. As long he is working, this place is a 10/10. Please make a public announcement of Trevors schedule ASAP. Cheers
Hey,@Kroger this is the second time, at this location, Ive had the unfortunate experience of dealing with your dismissively, disrespectful cashier /management section that resulted in me leaving the store without any purchases. As Ive been a Kroger customer FOR DECADES, I will give yall the time and opportunity to fix these unnecessary issues and look forward to getting back to my positive Krogering experiences.
Meth addicts work this location 24-7. Items cost too much. No snacky foods. No cupcakes or deli salads worth buying, & what available too expensive. No management.
This Kroger has always been good. I havent really had a bad experience with the staff or groceries here. They have a full pharmacy, clothes/shoes section, home goods, deli, alcohol, and groceries. The parking lot is large, but its shared with a lot of other stores.
I was at the Kroger plaza in New Albany on State Street today. I have got to say that the store associates there are the most laziest and most worthless people I have ever run into in my life. I am handicapped. One of the cards that Im writing on went dead in the store I asked at least six different store associates if they would go get me a cart but everyone said sure Ill be back in just a minute they never did return not one of them I never seen them again. The worst shopping experience in any store that I have ever been in in my life and I will never set foot back in that store again
Not sure what is going on here. Very few cashiers open and most of self-check out is always closed. Might as well change the name to Walmart.
Absolute trash establishment, should be shut down.
Shopped for 45 minutes then they only had 2 people at the registers with huge lines. Then would have bag the food. Happens to often. Left full cart of food setting there. I will go somewhere else tomorrow.
Clicklist is a joke now. You typically wont get the order for even the day you picked online expect up to 3 day delay and when you do get it itll be wrong overpriced and no substitutes. When you ask for some help correcting it youll be greeted with a take or leave it policy.
Love this store. Commute :30 each way to shop here because of the selection, quality, and value. Large organic selection and hard to find ethnic and international items. Helpful staff in all departments. And now I can even buy my Levi’s there! ❤️❤️❤️
After reading all the other bad reviews, just want people to know it is not a fluke. Their clicklist is a mess, never ready on time, spoiled food, no communication when your order is switched to the next day. The inside of this store is so huge I cant stand shopping here, its like running a marathon so they can sell clothes and home items. I will be going to the Grant Line store from now on. Waiting 20 min now for groceries that were supposed to be ready yesterday.
I understand Covid has made everyones life harder but hear me out.I have been an exclusive grocery pick up customer for a long time. The past two times I have submitted an order I have been called and told that the order has been pushed back by 3+ hours. Im a stay at home mom, so my schedule is pretty flexible and I dont mind having to wait the extra time. I do mind, however when I go to pick up my groceries at the new time only to be told they are not ready yet. I have spoken with managers which never gets very far. Im usually told, the people are new or turnover seems to be high.Im usually pretty understanding and can handle when things go wrong but this has been very inconvenient.
Kaylee and the lady who answered the phone today (at 8p) were awesome and soooo kind! Superior customer service!! Best Kroger pickup experience ever! Thank you!! We appreciate what you do!
Online ordering is a joke w/this store!Order wasnt ready until the NEXT DAY, half the order unavailable, expired rotten produce, smashed bread, waited 40 minutes in the lot to get groceries in car. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE! Not even an apology. GO ANYWHERE ELSE!
Good choice, quick in and out.
THIS IS MY PICK OF THE GROCERY and VARIETY STORES !!! GOOD PRICING, PLENTY OF PEOPLE TO HELP YOU FIND SOMETHING. NOT LIKE SOME PLACES ( where you have to chase someone down.)KROGER IS TOP QUALITY ON EVERYTHING.
The people who work at the State Street Kroger are amazing. They have displayed courtesy, patience and kindness in this time of chaos. Thank you!
While the click list does have it’s challenges, Brittany has been graceful, friendly and apologetic for the delays! I have read the reviews/complaints about the pickup service. 1. It is free. 2. We are still in a pandemic. 3. The employees that do the right thing and show up for their shift shouldnt be treated horribly because they are trying to do the job of multiple people! 4. We are still in a pandemic and I am willing to put up with inconveniences in order to get my groceries without shopping inside the store for an hour or two. (Yes, I am aware I pointed out the fact that we are in a pandemic twice.)Thank you Brittany for doing a fantastic job!!! You deserve extra compensation for working the pickup area!
I am not doing my own checkout without a discount! I am not your employee and I am not on your payroll. I will find other places to shop if you persist! Amazon does have pantry and plenty of local farmers to get the rest!
Great place for one stop shopping.
Horrible service at the Deli counters. The store was not busy on a Saturday afternoon but I had to find management to find somebody to wait on me. The store has grown so big that it is in manageable now! Do NOT go in there for quick stop...
They are Requiring mask but not actively enforcing it on patrons. Persons with compromised ammune systems and the elderly should avoid this location until the pandemic is over.
I really like the Kroger Marketplace grocery stores. Their selection is awesome, from the meat dept., the deli, cheese shop, and the food courts. My only problem is, I usually spend too much money. Plus Kroger built a new one outside of Jeff. like the New Albany Kroger on State st. Very cool!
Not bad
Front end is horrendous
The updated interior is amazing, and everything is very clearly marked. The layout is good and the new market section has a very good selection. But the best thing by far is Click list. Absolutely worth the $5 picking fee to have your groceries picked and brought to your vehicle when you choose.
Kroger on State Street in New Albany is my favorite supermarket. Its most convenient since it is open 24 hours 7 days a week. The store has perhaps the largest selection of items in every department. It is very clean with a pleasant atmosphere. Clerks often volunteer to help when it appears that I am searching for something. Its well worth the trip across the bridge from the west end in Louisville.
I love this Kroger but I work second shift and go when I get off work. Recently they have started closing the registers earlier and earlier. I used to be able to go through and get checked out at 11:30PM but now they are closing them even earlier. They either need a couple larger self checkouts our keep the manned register open later, at least until midnight. The self checkouts are just too small to checkout if you are buying a lot of groceries. Other than that the store and staff are great, the company though needs to focus more on the customer experience during checkout, especially if they are moving towards the self checkouts.
This is the first time I heard of Country Pride Islamic chicken leg quarters & could care less about the details provided on the package. The expiration date is also impossible. What a nasty product!
I question whether pharmacy is abusing the products and meds they offer. Called me, told me prescription is ready. Came to pick up prescription. Dont have it. Have to order it. Came back 3 days later. Still dont have it. Next day, came to pick up different prescription, told me would be 30 min. Went shopping for 45 min, came back. Told me another 15 min. Will choose pharmacy wisely in the future when picking up prescriptions.
The Kroger in New Albany is FAR better than any we have been to. Great selection of produce, and the employees are amazing. This is the only Kroger we have been to that the employees actually ask you if you need help. Any others we have been to, you have to walk half of the store just to see an employee, and when you do see them, they act turn around and basically run away!
Twice now they have moved my clicklist pickup time at the last minute. The first time they moved my time back by two hours. When I arrived the wait time to load was atleast 30 minutes. Also on this order there were several items missing from the order that I was unaware of until I was back home. I drive over 30 minutes to get to Kroger (closest grocery) and the second time they called 15 minutes before my pickup time to move to delay it by 3 hours. I have provided this feedback to them and was basically told oh well. Would not recommend using clicklist if have anything else to do that day. Also if you see the lady dragging her kids through the store during a pandemic, please dont judge... She probably already tried clicklist.
Not one cashier lane open, no attendants at the self checkout, lights turned off while shopping in produce, and then I walk out to a pitch black parking lot because the lights aren’t even on out there either. With cars flying around and barely missing other parked cars.May as well just close the store if you’re going to run it like this. The place looks like a failing business that can’t staff itself or keep the lights on. I guess this is what happens when you fire half your management to cut costs.
Very clean, good layout. Friendly employees. I always love Kroger. Great prices. Good selection. I recommend!
The recently-remodeled State Street Kroger includes a new deli case stocked with flash-frozen meals by the pound -- just add heat! This is definitely the best grocery store in Southern Indiana. If you havent been in since the remodel, check it out on your next shopping trip.
Love how they have everything all in one place. The clothes, shoes and accessories are very nice and not cheap. Tons of food to pick from and they have a cafe inside.
Great place for just about anything you want this super Kroger puts me in mind of meijer in terms of variety the only difference is Kroger has the rewards points program used toward lower gas prices. There is a variety of things for you to browse and possibly try something new. Great place to shop.
Upper management is full of snakes that pass the buck and play the blame game will dog you out for weeks at a time and are very Inconsiderate when it comes to medical problems even struggle to follow doctors orders for work load....
Overwhelming and Amazing!!! So. Much. Here!!! Even the bathrooms smelled good and were clean! Salad bar! Starbucks! Pizza! Almost like a cafe! Good prices! Sales! Even cloths, shoes and housewares! Very impressive! Cant wait to go back!
As soon as I entered the building with my child, an older man pushing the carts in told me I need to hurry up and move so he can finish pushing the carts in. Then motioned his hands for me to move. I told him that he is being rude and tried to argue with me. He was very rude.
Employees were kind throughout the entire store smiling and saying hi! Our experience at the deli was pleasant and the deli staff was attentive, friendly, and helpful with our selection. The new store is huge and we are still trying to get use to the layout. Definitely has what we need when we need it just have to find it or ask one of the many associates offering to help. Shelves are either stocked or being stocked and maintained noticeably.
Love my Kroger. Staff always friendly and helpful. ANY problems go to staff or service desk they will do everything they can to make sure you are a satisfied customer.
When I was 16 years old I stole a firework from there and I really didnt know any better. However the security Guard put me in a choke lock. Things like that people never forget. I think he took it to far because at other stores the security guards are not supposed to touch customers, Especially a minor. So I do know that yaw wont get anymore of my money even though its been 10 years.
The BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE of any Kroger!! I live 10 houses from the big new Kroger on Dixie. I drive to this location to get a better selection, fresher produce and an all-around better experience.
This is my favorite Kroger store. Despite the rain and a packed store, found what I was looking for quickly, and was in the checkout line for no more than 5 minutes! Checkout and bagging staff very nice.
I ordered food for pickup between 7-8 they called at 3 and said I had to get tomorrow I guess it doesnt matter if u have things going on. they dont care!!!!
Very well lit and well stocked store. Easily accessable from the interstate. Large aisles and plenty of workers to help you. Great deals! Two minor complaints: the shared parking lot (its in a shopping center) is crowded during the noon rush, and the store is extremely large, which is good, however it is organized in a unusual fashion, causing an extreme amount of walking to gather a few items. Overall, its good for large grocery trips, but not for quick stop shopping.
This place has turned into Walmart, 2 lanes open at 900am over 20 customers waiting
Wide variety. Not a good or logical flow. Often out of stock on items I would consider staples. Friendly staff, if you use the rewards card can get some good buys.
Love the new updated Kroger on State Street. So many different items added with the expansion. The Managers are fantastic and so helpful when something may be out of stock and they give you something in place of the item. The cashiers are wonderful as well. Nice and polite.
Huge selection of sushi. Great freshly made pizza. Great cheese selection. Love this store
I have shopped at this Kroger for 6 years. The staff has always been great but the last 6 months they have been amazing. They never walk by you without saying something with a smile on their face. They stop everything to help find what I am looking for. I leave there even when its busy with a smile on my face because of the greatest people. I want to thank you all for all you do because you all are so great. Keep up the good work.
I normally love the new version of this Kroger even though its so big now the walking across the store is excessive. However Ive removed one star since they removed the olive bar. That was always the bright spot in my visit. Where else am I going to find my dolmas! (Stuffed grape leaves).
Do not use their pickup. It is never ready on time. They always pick garbage. This is like the 5th time it is late. I was supposed to pickup Sunday @4pm. They called and said it wouldnt be ready until Monday Morning. I called them before I came and told them I was on my way. This was 7:15am. 10 minutes after checking in they said they werent open. I complained told them to forget it. They said they would be out. It is now 7:46am and no one has yet to come. I will never ever use this again. Horrible service!!!!!
Horrible service, waited over 25 minutes, just a few minutes ago, to checkout. 8 carts in front of me, and only 1 register open. I called the store manager, she said, I dont have anyone to put on a register.....I walked out, and left over $150 groceries in my cart. This is not the 1st Friday night this has happened to me....GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER KROGER.Friday nights are busy, you should have extra staff on. Your brand new Albany store is nothing without good customer service!!
This is the most visited Kroger in the USA(a good friend works for Kroger Corporate) and my experience has been a good one. Only had to return products a handful of time after shopping here for many years. I really dont like how the store has changed over the years and the new layout is way less than ideal... at least its brought in more options for goods and the fresh bread and produce reworked area is pretty nice. Ive been going here more since they brought back the few things I really like after the expansion
Although Kroger has been a favorite grocer since we moved to the area 5 years ago, I will no longer be shopping there. Saturday during the rain storm I needed to make a trip to get medicine for a child who had the flu. I had been up most of the night and was extremely fatigued as well as trying to rush to stay dry. After shopping and arriving home, I realized I had left the jumbo pack of TP on the bottom of cart. I called but since nobody had turned it in I would not be compensated for the loss, even if I had the receipt showing the purchase. I feel like good customer service would have replaced it. Therefore I will either go to Wal-Mart (who do replace items as long as you have proof of purchase) or Meijer. I know it may not put a dent in their pocket by me shopping elsewhere but neither would it have to just give me my toilet paper. Just the principle of the matter. It wont happen again. 🤷
The food at Kroger is great, however, at my last visit a bee had somehow gotten in to the building and was on top of the plastic bag holder. Though I offered to take it out the man at the register ignored this and put it on the floor and stomped on it, which was very disturbing.
They were out of they were out of everything I needed
I like Krogers especially the fuel points discount
Gas attendant was very kind & helpful! We had a flat tire and she turned the air on for us because we didnt have the $ to get the air ourselves. Thank You!
One great place to shop, I love how the employees remember my name and always a great smile. Mark in the meat department is amazing.
I wanted to take a moment to Thank the Kroger store on State Street in New Albany, IN.The Manager and Staff were very helpful, kind and generous to the the first Floyd County CASA, trainees of 2020.The Kroger provided excellent facilities for our CASA trainees and terrific food as well.I would also like to encourage you to get get involved and volunteer as a much needed CASA Volunteer. Please contact your local CASA for further information.Thank you Kroger Family !😊
Fresh produce
When the store remodeled, it became much bigger. Unfortunately, this was not an improvement. The store is too big now and trying to find things is harder than ever. The addition of a small clothing department is of no benefit as the clothes are overpriced even when marked down. And it seems despite the larger store, the variety of actual groceries has decreased. This was my go to store even for quick trips but not any more. I guess its a good thing they put in a food court because you need a place to rest when trying to shop here.
My name is Francine WinburnMy order supposed to been delivered 😑 to 619 West Spring St AptB upstairs New Albany IndianaLast night between the hours of 9 and 10 p.m. but for some reason the order did not go through and they told me to cancel but when I tried to cancel my order it wouldnt go through.. but the payment of 50.56 came out for my card...My order no12009064018103I never got my order delivered
What’s the point of having a mask ordinance if you’re not going to make your greeters uphold it? Reckless.
Good selection. Great new remodel. Friendly employees. Slow service, better off waiting in u scan.
