I had 5 very polite, strong movers. They moved furniture without dings and scratches. BUT I did not get all of my personal belongings. I had left items in my furniture drawers, which I was told would be taped; however, it was not. One drawer was completely emptied out of Xbox games. Another chest full off barbies, of which 2 were removed. Plus “3” vacuum cleaners, and storage container full of dishes and glassware. These were obvious items missing, as I have not completely unpacked everything.I did confront them, in hopes of returning. No luck. Beware, as they will go through your belongings and help themselves. Thankfully, I personally moved my jewelry and other valuables!!! I did not follow the trucks, nor did I look on the trucks once they were finished unloading. They had given me no reason to distrust them. I’m very disappointed and would not recommend.

I hired Hitzfelder after getting a few quotes for a local move. Their crew was awesome! They were quick, courteous, and professional. All 3 were hard working and diligent. They showed up on time and had the job done about 2 hours earlier than I expected. I was very pleased. Nothing was damaged or missing. Overall 10/10! Thanks Gene.

Thieves!!!!This company moved me from Stephenville to New Braunfels. The goods moved included furniture for a 2 bedrm, 2 bath townhouse. Everything was moved snd the one truck left before I did. I left about 1 hour later and I arrived at the storage facility first. A few days later I could not find 5 pairs of shoes, 2 pair of boots, or my jewelry bag! I asked them only to pack the 2 bedrms, kitchen, and living area. I would do the rest.I discovered when I arrived home that in the jewelry bag I was missing was a topaz pendant from my mom, a diamond and gold ring, a large gold band, a diamond drop on a gold chain and a large 21caret alexanderite and gold ring.These guys are NOT to be trusted!

The guys we had were great. Moved boxes out of storage and moved some heavy furniture from downstairs to upstairs and an entertainment center downstairs. They were efficient and quick.

Mr. Hitzfelders business and crew are top notch. I had some scheduling issue, and Gene worked to squeeze me in. The crew were amazingly fast and efficient, even though they charge hourly. They came in an hour under my estimate for the time required.This was the end of the first part of a two part move, I cannot wait for them to come and help me move the rest of the way into my new home!

Hi! I don’t know exactly what a rating i can give this company. They worked seems professionally. The crew moved our furniture from the storage in New Braunfels to our home in New Braunfels. The Local moving was on Friday, 8th of January.Unfortunately today and yesterday we didn’t find our computer monitor and a printer. They were in the original boxes. So disappointed, disgusted.😳We paid a good price and tips. And ... i didn’t see exactly they stole them. But my rating is a very poor. I can’t get my things . I would like to warn others : be careful and hide electronic things and cover them . Thank you.Update:Today I realized I can’t find a beach table and beach cart. They stole them.People, don’t hire this company.

Gene seems like a nice enough guy, which is why they end up with 2 stars. The crew he sent earned the one-star rating. Where can we start on this? I heard glass breaking as they bounced boxes down the stairs. The boxes very obviously marked Fragile were stacked at the bottom of large stacks where they were crushed by the weight of everything on top of them. After asking them to wrap my furniture, they sold me over $100 of supplies, and left $85 worth of them sitting at the old house, unused. Not only was furniture not wrapped, but they sold pads at $2 / piece and left them. The crew looked unprofessional, fine on its own, but then they started acting unprofessional. The stand out comment was when they said they would stack things their own way unless I wanted to do it myself. To Gene’s credit, he stopped by to check in and brought a third guy, who clearly knew what he was doing. It was too late to negate a full day of carnage. When I asked about the supplies, he agreed to take them back, it just never happened. Wanted to give them another try, but when the time came, I’m glad we ended up with someone else. It was not a good experience.

I moved within New Braunfels 10/19. I really wanted to be able to give a good rating for this company as they were on time and courteous. Unfortunately my refrigerator was badly dented during the move. I filed the damage that day and was ASSURED it would be taken care of. It is now 4 MONTHS later and has not been resolved. I have spoken to the company multiple times and there has been an excuse each time!! I feel that I am being given the run around...Would I recommend? Sadly NO.

Similar to other reviewers who mention that expensive items went missing during their move, that happened to us as well. Ive filled a Police report and will be pressing charges. Ill share with the community the outcome.

Gene and his crews are very professional and timely. I have used them to move 3 times between office and home and each time they have been prompt, courteous, efficient that I am amazed how fast they load and unload everything. When they show up they are ready to work and very careful with moving and protecting the furniture and walls. It has been wonderful each time and they helped make stress of each move less stressful.

Well, this business had my first review removed, but I will continue to post it because its a fact and my neighbors need to know the truth.Their employee stole from me. They stole a small pencil box that had $195 cash in it and they also stole 2 Roku electronic devices. There is likely more that was stolen, this is simply what I noticed was missing.That same employee spent more time on his phone with his girlfriend talking about their financial problems than he actually spent packing.I paid $150 an hour for three men to pack and move my stuff but I only got the work of two and a half. Total bill was around $1500 and I guess I should have just called the guy from another company who would have moonlighted for only $500.When I contacted Gene, he simply said, I dont know what to say, this never happens. He said he would follow up with me, but never did.The movers and myself were the only people who packed my house. I would never use this company again.Even worse, we tipped them very well and bought them dinner.

This company moved my mother from New Braunfels to Austin a few weeks ago and we were VERY pleased with the service. We absolutely have no complaints. Three men showed up and each introduced themselves to us and were very polite. They had everything loaded on the truck in 1 hour. They wasted no time and drove straight to Round Rock and had her unloaded, bed set up, etc. in just one hour. I would definitely use them again if I needed a moving company and would recommend them as well.

This week would have marked the 4th time I have used Hitzfelder Moving personally, and have referred countless friends, family, and customers to use them as well. I have never had any reservations about sending someone to Gene, Rachel and their TEAM to handle a move. This time we had some closing issues with the buyer as well as the new home we were moving into. We had to do a partial move and then a follow up the day before closing because of the delay to remove the remainder. Hitzfelder Moving was able to accommodate and make it work for us. They really helped take the stress out of the situation. My wife and I will never call another company should we need to move again, and will continue to recommend them because they treat you like family. They are fast, efficient, affordable and professional. BIG thanks to everyone at Hitzfelder Moving!!!!

I hired a mover from here named Gabe Rameriz. Paid him $100 for a quick 30min haul and trash that I helped load only to have the trash dumped back on my front porch after leaving. Don’t use this company if this is the type of people they hire to care for your belongings.

We hired this company over a year ago to help us move or stuff to Colorado. They damaged or bed, stole thousands of dollars and jewellery, and there owner kept promising to make things right. This hasnt happened yet and as started previously this was over a year ago. Dont use them unless you are able to watch every move they make.

We used Hitzfelder to move us to Corpus. The team that showed up was pretty good. However the evening after they loaded everything I was missing my laptop bag. I brought it to their attention first thing the following morning when they arrived to unload our furniture and they didnt remember seeing it. When we contacted Gene Hitzfelder he stated that never happens and we had a trusted crew. He asked us to unpack everything and if we still couldnt find the bag with all the items in it we could file it against his insurance. Well, the on site team wouldnt leave unless we signed their paperwork. If this ever happens to you DO NOT sign the paperwork. Turns out after we signed it we agreed that everything was delivered ok. Theres not a place to dispute items on the form and the crew will push for a signature. We thought that by talking with the owner we would be ok. Long story short the insurance company said we signed the paperwork and were only entitled for .60 cents for every pound of damages and sent a $12 check. That doesnt account for much when its a laptop, iPad, AirPods and cash. After the insurance ruling I cant get a response from the company to discuss this further. Now Im left with $3K of stolen items and a company that wont call me to discuss. DO NOT use them. I thought a local company would be more reputable to work with should any issues arise but that was not the case.
