Heard that Arethusa Farm Dairy had some really good ice cream and the rumors were true. A short walk away from Louis Lunch it was the perfect way to end a meal. There wasnt anyone else here when we went around 2 pm in the afternoon and we got to look around a bit.The shop is kept quite clean and tidy. The staff was friendly. It had a waffle cone with a scoop that was half mint chocolate chip and half sweet cream with dark chocolate chunks. The ice cream itself was incredibly smooth and delicious, the chocolate inside perfect for the moutfeel. Overall great ice cream place!

Great location, A long line, but it moved super fast. Great prices!!! And the ice cream - sweet, creamy and delicious.

A bright spot in the galaxy of ice cream shops that have materialize recently. Not gelato but real creamery style ice cream. Great selection of flavors, big portions and a friendly helpful staff. The one downside is that there is very limited seating ( practically nonexistent). Overall we give it four clams on the coveted Five Quahog rating scale.

Quick shop at this ice cream shop with the wife, kids and little sister. My wife and I had the Almond and toasted coconut, my son the Sour Cherry with Dark Chocolate chips, my daughter had Raspberry and Strawberry and my sister the Rasand Vanilla. Delicious! That is all Im going to say about the ice cream. Again, delicious! Quick service, lots of customers and depending on the time of day it will be difficult to get a close by parking spot. We will be back again.

Honestly we had eaten our food before I thought to take a picture, but we got delicious sandwiches from the takeout café and the cheese was just to die for. There were some really fun options for cheeses and I got a cranberry and turkey sandwich with some kind of cheese on it that was just perfect for the sandwich. I will say I thought the bread could’ve been better. It wasn’t great bread. But the cheese was phenomenal and the sandwich was delicious and gone before I knew it!

The toasted almond and strawberry wee great. Lot of signature flavors still unavailable. And the pistachio flavor was too buttery. Great social distancing measures.

Their pistachio ice cream is the stuff of legends.We buy their butter from eataly and really love how creamy it is. Didnt realize they had an entire store based on their dairy items.We ordered the pistachio and strawberry. Im a big fan of pistachio and this was probably the best pistachio ice cream Ive eaten. It was so flavorful and had pieces of real nuts.Need to go back to check out their other dairy products.

This is such an awesome ice-cream shop - very fresh/rich ice cream. Definitely a role model for local business. My favorite has been strawberries, coffee, and pistachio (omg this is the best one I have ever had). I did not like sweet cream, but of course you wont lose a star because of that.

Best icecream I ever tried in the U.S.! I love the pistachio, coffee, almond chocolate ones. The strawberry is good as well but just a little bit sweeter than others. This place is not serving those typical cloying, tasteless ice cream like everywhere else. Highly recommended.

The ice cream is beyond phenomenal. :) Rich and creamy. We tried the 2 flavors in one scoop option- pistachio and coffee. The portion size was huge. :)The pistachio is as awesome as other reviewers described- flavorful and not even remotely tasting like that fake essence flavor. It was chock full of pistachios. :)The coffee was not wimpy- rich, deep, dark coffee flavor. Very, very good!The service was fast, friendly. The menu and options are clearly laid out. There are other products such as milk, honey, cheeses you can purchase. They also have a grilled cheese that looks amazing. Next time. :)Highly recommend!!! Soooo good!

This is a favorite spot of a good friend of mine. Locally owned diary farm which is pretty cool. The ice cream was tasty and I was pleased to see cartons of the ice cream as well as milk for sale. I wouldve like to see whipped cream as an topping or even available for purchase by the can.

Went for the seasonal peach - maybe because it was literally the bottom of the bucket - ice cream was inconsistent, icy in parts and creamy and delicious in other parts, not a sweet peachy flavor. I am not saying dont go as they have many good qualities for another try.

Areuthusas Farm Dairy has great ice cream. However, what was most important to me was the cleanliness and AMAZING staff. Way to go Arethusa!

Generous scoop. Good price. The pistachio flavor was AMAZING. chunks of pistachios in it and not overly sweet. The coffee one was good too, perfect amount of sweetness. But the pistachio is a must-try, for sure. The waffle cone was crispy and delicious.Went there for the second time. Got pistachio and strawberry in a cup. Pistachio was as good as the first time. In the strawberry one, there were frozen strawberry chunks. Both were not overly sweet, but pistachio is the BEST.

Some of the nicest ice cream I’ve eaten. Huge portions, so don’t get more than a “scoop” (which is actually like 3x the size of the metal ice cream scooper). The waffle cones are great. Especially good flavours: chocolate with dark chunks, rum and raisin, and pistachio.

Love your flavors, especially pistachio and strawberry. Their extra- thick milkshakes are good too. I try to stop by whenever I am visiting friends in New Haven area.

Its everything ice cream should be. The sizes are generous (we got single scoops and it was more than enough ice cream to satisfy) and the flavors are wonderful. The best, richest ice cream you will ever have. Heaping scoops of ultra premium ice cream (high percentage of cream) served in always fresh waffle cones. Flavors are consistently delicious and can stand by themselves, no extraneous toppings needed.They are supplied by a proper dairy and make some of the best cheeses you can find.

Myself and my friends visited on July 14th, 2021 and we are disappointed a lot. We have chosen this place based on google reviews only. I would rate below 1 star. We have taken sour cherry, strawberry worst, chocolate worst and raspberry is okay okay.I know the property May report against my review and I will also fight with google for my genuine review and loss my money.

I love a good ice cream... and that’s exactly what you’ll find at arethusa! Great flavours and a wide variety. All the ice cream flavours are so delicious that it’s hard to chose from! Staff are incredible nice and make great recommendations on what you should get! Huge portions too!! Their waffle cones are very fresh tasting- nice crisp and sweetened to them. I love supporting local and will definitely be back for more. Looking forward to trying more of their product line as well.

For one scoop (3.50$) you get two huge scoops or ice cream - and you can mix the flavors. I was working in the area one summer and a visiting fellow would come back every day talking about how he keeps getting away with two scoops and he wouldnt say anything. After about a week I go to check it out and turns out its just what they do, and I cant thank them enough for it. I recently bought cheese for the first time there and it was also really good, but hard to compare to their ice cream - really one of a kind. I used to transport pints of their sweet cream chocolate chip up to school by taping it to the back of my car to keep it frozen. Theyre ice cream is everything to me.

This is my go to spot for quality ice cream. I always look forward to their seasonal flavors like pumpkin and their mint chip, chocolate, and pistachio are the best I’ve had. Not the place if you want a lot of toppings but they have amazing cones and delicious flavors at a great price. Tip: if you order two half scoops you get two flavors and a ton of ice cream for the cost of a single scoop. Love it!

The ice cream here is phenomenal! Their scoop is actually two scoops and the strawberry flavor actually has huge chunks of strawberry in it, definitely my favorite! Their milk is very tasty too, although a little on the expensive side. I would definitely recommend going to this place at least once if youre visiting new haven, you wont regret it.

Arethusa is amazing. They have an excellent selection of flavors ranging from classic vanilla and strawberry to a dark chocolate cherry. They also offer other dairy items for purchase including milk, butter and ice cream pints. The ice cream taste great. You can see and taste actual strawberries in the strawberry ice cream. The staff is very friendly and provide generous portions.

Simple, creamy, beautiful ice cream (Id almost call it custard, for those Midwest folks out there. Think Culvers but real.)The staff is cheerful and professional and seem like genuinely nice people, by which I mean they dont seem to hate their jobs or their customers or each other, which is quite frankly refreshing after many of the downtown retail locations. Go for the wonderful smells of freshly made waffle cones. The ice cream itself was too milky for my taste and lacked the flavor that I was expecting based on previous reviews. Im a huge, huge fan of coconut ice cream and was sorely disappointed to find out that I could barely taste the toasted coconut. Total disappointment after waiting in line for thirty minutes.

The mint chip here is the best Ive ever had. Love the location in Bantam, but the New Haven shop is just as good, and full of charm.
