GREAT BOOK STORE! and the staff was incredibly knowledgeable! Do recommend!
Great customer service. Has a room just for kids books.
This is such a lovely and well stocked bookstore. I can wonder aimlessly wondering the isles for hours. They have a great selection of signed copies and New Orleans centered books. If you are a book lover, its well worth the visit.
A wonderful general interest bookshop with a good variety of new fiction and nonfiction. Not precious in feel. An excellent local bookstore!
Cute little book shop. I wish they had a larger Graphic Novels section, but otherwise excellent selection. I even found a signed copy of one of my favorite books, The Ministry for the Future!
Stopped here for a signed copy of one of Anne Rices books. We were not disappointed by the selection and knowledge from the staff! I would recommend this book shop to all avid readers or Anne Rice fans.
We had a very pleasant experience! Everyone was so helpful and genuine! Plus the selection was pretty nice too! Lots of local flavor, as well as a nive variety of other sections as well.
What a great shop! Super friendly and helpful staff. Has a great cozy ambiance. Could easily spend a good amount of time (and money) in here.
The staff/owners were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I was looking for some go to New Orleans reads on history or even ghost stories just something different I guess then what I usually read. He recommended several books in which I selected gumbo yaya, Frenchmen, desire, good children and other streets of new of Orleans by John chase and ghost stories of old New Orleans by Jeanne delavigne. I cannot wait to start reading them. The book shop is located almost right in front of the Lafayette cemetery #1. They also have a coffee shop which is very convenient.
Our favorite book store. We love this place
I love this store! The girl who works there is super nice and helpful. Were visiting from out of town and I couldnt help stopping in.
Picturesque little place in the middle of the historic Garden District, the new owners are very enthusiastic about their books (and NOLA history) and have expanded many areas including childrens books and creole cookbooks!
Amys awesome!Pete (the dog) is awesome! The books and their store are awesome! The coffee is awesome! The building (The Rink) is awesome!OK ... Everything is Awesome !Thanks for a great experience :))))
Sweet lil indie bookshop with a large selection of NOLA-based books and friendly staff who offer great suggestions. The staff will even order books for you if they are not in stock. Plus, theres a coffee shop next door which makes it a perfect place to delve into my finds.
Great place to pick up signed copies of Anne Rice books.
A great new space and a separate childrens book area. And of course a great selection of classics as well as current authors.
The place is so tiny and thats the only con. Its perfect otherwise. Lots of offerings and very informative staff. Its my go to book place!
As an Anne Rice fan, going here was almost a religious experience. The staff was nice, the selection was incredible. I could have spent the whole day here. Its in a really neat building, as well.
What a cute place! Nice shops in the Rink as well
Nice bookstore in a beautiful area
Cute indy bookstore with lots of signed books.
Nice and clean store and great selection.Employees never acknowledged or asked us if we needed assistance.
Mediocre bookstore much akin to Borders or Barnes and Noble back in the day. Staff was disinterested and said nothing to us which is fine but somewhat out of the norm. The spot has a standard selection of Patagonia people fare.
Very cute independent book store!
Such a pleasant enjoyable shop!
It’s a regular local bookstore with a nod towards New Orleans culture and Anne Rice.
Really enjoyed browsing the aisles of this bookstore. I like when bookstores seem a little disorganized (even though they really arent), because I think it forces you to wander and Im convinced you find the best books when youre not looking for them. Good selection of Anne Rice novels here, with lots of editions to choose from.
Nice, funky independent bookstore with a great collection of fiction and nonfiction books.
Great selection of childrens books
Great little bookstore in a popular neighborhood to walk around.
The new childrens book space in the store is perfect!
Very nice bookshop, nice selection of childrens books
Charli Damelio Meet and Greet Dec 2 and 5 for 18.99$ please wear a mask
Lady name Rochelle was so sweet & greeted me when I walked in & was very helpful to my needs
Ive been going to this bookstore my entire life, and it is one of my favorite places. It feels like a mythical bookstore from a fantasy novel, which is 100% the energy I want from an indie bookstore. My only complaint (and its, admittedly, a small one) is that I pretty much exclusively read nonfiction and romance novels, and while there is so much great non-fiction here, finding lots of great romance in GDBS is pretty difficult. I was hoping that their recent partnership with Farrah Rochon signalled that they were going to expand their selection, but a recent visit told me that hasnt changed. Hopefully soon, they will add more romance, though!
My favorite local bookshop. Theyre super helpful in picking out books from in-person shopping to online or phone orders. Skip amazon and shop local, this is such a great shop that we are lucky to have in the heart of New Orleans.
Most AMAZING bookstore on the planet!
Great local stop! Shop here as opposed to Amazon or other giant chains!
Just paid my second visit, the first having been 6 or 7 years ago now. Loved it just as much this time! Easily could’ve spent the whole afternoon browsing.
Small little bookstore that swallowed up my companion and I for almost an hour! There was so much to see and browse. Well organized. Lots of unique NOLa specific books. Seemed busy enough, folks in and out and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Such a wonderful friendly and helpful staff!
Lots of books, some signed by author. Many genres available. Knowledgeable staff.
Great store.
Lovely local bookstore in the garden district of New Orleans. Great selections and I loved the sections of Takes place near or in New Orleans. Staff are very friendly as well.
The service was great!!! The lady that helped me today has a wonderful attitude. I couldnt have ask for better service. I recommend everyone go to this same store!!!
A true gem. Stop by and support these guys if you are in the area.
Should be a 5, because the selection was amazing. However, one of the cashiers was close to the rudest person I have had to converse with in that type of establishment. The Shop gets a 5, and she gets a 1.
Great selection! Lots on local history and architecture! Many local books, many signed by the authors.
Great book store. Lots of local books available with knowledgeable staff. Large selection of signed books from book signings they hold.
Lots of great books. I got a couple of classic crime books and Mardi Gras postcards. Theres lot of books on local art and architecture. Service friendly.
I attended the Chuck Palahniuk book signing. The staff was helpful with information coming up to the event and managed the large crowd well. He lives in Portland, Oregon and the couple behind me in line drove from Texas to meet Chuck. Its apparently uncommon for him to come this far out and I heard a few other fans say they had travelled. Thanks Garden District Book Shop! Ill following your page so I see all the updates and dont miss any information on upcoming events.
Be sure to go! One of a kind, great example of in independent bookstore. Comfy couches for browsing also.
A nice arcade with some shops. The coffee is good and fairly priced.
I love this little book shop in the Garden District. It has a friendly staff and a great selection of local authors as well. A good place to go if you want a personalized book shopping experience.
Lovely small bookshop. Kind sellers, good product. Helpful folks. Good neighborhood
Cute shop ...
Smaller than I expected but nice place!
Great shop, nice staff, and awesome selection
Great place to visit while in Nawlins.
Small bookshop with decent variety of books, and a great place to buy New Orleans cultural and locally authored books. Prices are very reasonable and there are an abundance of signed books and opportunities to meet authors.
Nice selection. Terrific neighborhood bookstore that often hosts local authors for readings and signing events.
Lovely book shop. Many local books, but others as well. Wonderful childrens section with all the best baby, toddler, and young child books.
Remains as solid and curated as it was when I visited it literally ten years ago. Now that NO is home it will be heavily visited
Very charming store with lovely customer service. They also have a large selection of books signed by the author.
Beautiful book store featuring signed copies of thousands of books

A great locally owned small bookstore nestled in the Rink shopping center. Lots of great regional books and a friendly staff.
One of the best selections of local history and culture books in the city, friendly and competent staff.
Small store with helpful staff.
Great independent book store in the Garden District. Very friendly!

Cool local bookshop. Loved the mix of local/small press and mainstream books.
Small but enticing and engaging!
Nice lil book shop with some great LA literature
Loved my time here.
Nice little bookshop, especially if you like signed editions.
Great shop, good selection of signed books.
Nice book shop, but kind of disappointed they didnt have in stock any of the books that were on my booklist which were recommended by a Time Magazine editor online... still a nice place and friendly staff.
Fun place. Helpful and nice woman working the counter.
One pearl of a bookshop! Theres a book for every kind of person
