LOVE THIS PLEACE! An Oasis of healthy and delicious food at the Meat Packing, my favorites, the $3 salted Sun Flower seeds pack, the $99 cents opened at your order baby coconut, such a nice threat to get it before having a walk around this very nice newly renovated area on a hot day. Also affordable delicious open food bar! Love their rewards I can get by just giving my cel my cel number at checkout :)

Saw rotten scallions and wrinkled peppers remain on the shelf three months ago. Was shocked to see its deteriorating quality after moving to its current location.Recently visit in Feb saw significant improvement for produces freshness, probably due to its increasing crowed. Glad to see this store is gradually restoring its local reputation when it was located upstairs. Some bargains (e.g. fresh shiitake mushroom $7.5 per pound) and some pricey items (e.g. a small bunch of green onion for $2) . Its species remain the strongest selling point in store, but wish the origin informayion could be clearly labeled. Hot food is newly added to the cafeteria offerings, but did not see price information clearly specified. My latest visit in May saw the quality of produce dropped again while the price went up. For example, wilted mushroom remained on display. Quality control seems to be a problem here. The selection of spices also cut down.P.S. My review is based on my honest shopping experience, and I did not take owners free offer of fresh produce to revise my original negative review.
Manhattan Fruit Market is the fruit and vegetable spot in Chelsea Market.occasionally, i stop here for certain fruits and veggies bc i shop at Buonitalia (next door) a lot. its located below street level in the Chelsea Market. the store is fairly organized, brightly lit, and clean.theres a huge variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and packaged foods. the quality is quite good, but this place is pretty pricy. i come here mostly for those citrus gems known as Meyer Lemons bc i cant find them anywhere else in the city. you can do most of your produce shopping in this one spot.the service is kinda lacking and pretty cold. no his, thank yous, can i help yous etc.
The selection here is amazing! I recommend anyone touring the city to check out the Meatpacking District as one of your stops. Its great because the amount of people is low for now.
I was here again to buy fruits for a gift basket idea. Theyre very helpful and I appreciated how they went out of their way to help with my fruit gift basket project, which became a reality later in the day. Thank you again.
Dont plan on going to the market at 8:00 am when it opens. Two days in a row I went and was told that the cashier was late. I waiting around until 8:20 and then left. When the stores open, theres usually a nice variety to choose from. I shouldnt of had to go elsewhere to get breakfast, shame on the management.
This place is quite the gem and I’ve been meaning to go for a while but was intimidated that it might be overpriced cause of the location. Not true. They have a modest selection of fruits and seasonings some of which are cheaper than Costco. I got some peaches that weren’t sweet (oh, well) as well as some fresh rosemary. I will definitely be back.

Highly recommended
EXCELLENT FRESH PRODUCE/VEGETABLES + FRUITS. THE BEST FRESH SALAD AND HOT FOOD BAR IN NEW YORK CITY TUCKED AWAY INSIDE CHELSEA MARKET LOWER LEVEL. IMPORTED DELICACIES FROM OTHER COUNTRIES. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME.
I usually stop here to pick up fresh fruits and veggies. I turned up on Sunday morning at 8AM and was told by the gentleman in the store that they would be opening in 5 minutes. 20 minutes later and they still weren’t open. I understand that sometimes you might run late, but don’t tell me it will be 5 minutes and let me wait around for 20. I could have found groceries elsewhere in that time. Inconsiderate and disorganized.
LOVE THIS PLEACE
NICE AND CLEAN PLACE!!!!!
Wasnt able to go inside right now due to Covid19.
This is the third time the produce I buy ends up being ROTTEN once I cut it, last time it was an onion, this time an eggplant, and the time before the milk was bad. Enough. I am done purchasing produce there. I tried calling them to complain because it is not fun to get home after shopping and realize you cannot cook the meal you had planned, but no one picks up the phone.
A very well rounded grocery store in the Chelsea market. (Minus fish and meats, those you get elsewhere in the Chelsea market)
I came here on a Monday morning at about 10:30am.This is part of the new Chelsea Local - the grocery focused expansion located on the lower level of Chelsea Market. This is a small, but nice little store. They have a prepared foods bar for $8.99 per pound. They had breakfast foods like fruit, yogurt, eggs, bacon, french toast. They also had lunch foods out like Garlic Kale Pasta, Vegetable Green Lentil Salad, Tuna Salad, Chick Pea Salad, and Black Bean Corn Quinoa Salad.A better food-by-weight price than Whole Foods. WF is usually $9.99 per pound. They have lots of fresh produce.Kiwis were $0.59 each. Same price as Whole Foods, although WF’s kiwis are organic. These were not. They had lots of squashes and pumpkins for the fall season, and Halloween. Like acorn squash, kabocha squash, spaghetti squash, mini pumpkins, tiger stripe pumpkin, pie pumpkin. They had a substantial cheese selection. They have lots of Bob’s Red Mill grains like buckwheat, forro, bulgur, amaranth, pearl barley, flaxseed, hemp seed, and chia seed.
Great salad bar with places to sit in the Chelsea market.
Ive been here twice for Raw Milk. This is one of the two places I go to for Raw Milk (with the other being Other Avenues Food Store Cooperative on Judah). They charge $1.50 for bottle for the Raw Milk but you can return them to get it back.
Great salad bar.
