This store I’ve been going to for months and this is the best pet store I’ve been to. Its a little small but the services are amazing for both English and Hispanic needs. The prices are no where near crazy and the quality of the products are just what one would need. Find out what you want and need from a pet store and ask here. They got you! Up until two years ago, The Ironbound Pet Shop always had a bad name, for whatever reason it might have been... I remember going there as a child and always having this weird smell come up, almost foul like. Up until last week, I went to the pet shop after hearing it has new owners, and I went there to get some new fish for the tank, and to my surprise, everything was different. New lights, new decor style, better prices and quality, no more foul smell, and most importantly, the animals looked and seemed happier. Forget about PetSmart or PetCo, this shop is a lot better as a whole. And best of all, the people are nicer and actually help you out and are sincere, giving you their own opinion. Please give this shop a second chance, because that is what everyone deserves.

My boyfriend and I visited this store over the weekend just to look around and left with Gloster Canary we named Pishoo- short for Pistachio and his bowl cut hair. Staff was absolutely amazing answering endless questions from us and patient while we were all over the store like misbehaved kids:) we could tell the staff really love what they do and could sense their carrying nature for pet store residents. Bruno -the person who was helping us he was knowledgeable about every pet we asked about and the other guy who was taking care of the birds in the back room who told us so much about a brand new parrots they just received looked so excited to talk about birds and we were happy to listen and even the store was officially closed we never felt rushed. I spoke with Mark -the owner of this store this morning who was equally amazing and told me more about this business as a new owner. I will absolutely support this business. WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD and thank you again!

Well for starters, I wasnt going to come here with my family to buy the rabbit. Things happened for a reason I guess & we ended up buying a lionhead mix to company our 1yr old rabbit Rosita. My two only concerns with this pet shop is that they need more staff members who has the knowledge to identify the sex of animals (including rabbits, guinea pigs, cats, etc.) Also, they need to have numerous charts that shows how the animal private parts look instead of having US CUSTOMERS WASTE OUR TIME playing a guessing game on which gender is this, looking on wikihow to identify rabbit private parts or making themselves look clueless and insecure of what they doing in their job. Second reason is how they put newspapers as a source of bedding for the rabbits, guinea pig, ferret and cats. That is NOT good for their paws and living conditions. Other than that, me, my family and Rosita love our new edition to the family.

Filthy conditions with mistreated animals. The animal room towards the back smells like urine with dust and grime everywhere.Some mice were pregnant but still living in overcrowded, disgusting tanks with mixed sexes of all ages. One of the rats was clearly pregnant but when I asked the staff they hadnt a clue, nor did they care. I got a quick no when I asked to handle her. The rats were also being fed a bird seed mix which is too small for them to eat and guarantees poor nutrition.The bird cages were stacked up the wall. There were puppies and rabbits in dog crates on the floor among the dust, though the dogs got a lot of attention from other shoppers.I would not recommend giving this pet store any money. Please do not shop here or even rescue an animal by buying it because that will just boost their sales.

I bought two Guinea pigs at this place one Guinea pig had dry skin and wasn’t very active and didn’t want to eat and today I went to check on them and it started dragging its back legs and I started to search up why that happens I was so disappointed and it said that the dry skin could be many things and could lead to hind leg paralysis and because of the bad care of the owners the guinea pug was already sick. I WILL BE GOING BACK TO SEE IF I CAN GET A REFUND

Would not recommend! They sold me a sick kitten, and swore they had it at the vet & de-wormed, one week later the kitten has an eye infection and has worms in its litter box . They didnt bother to give a call back to see the condition of the kitten as they said they would and didnt show any vet proof . Im not fond of liars and this is bad for business, i hope i can help someone with this review from making a regretful purchase of a LIVE ANIMAL, not an object . Wont see a dollar out of me ever again and they can keep the 100$ .

This is my go to place. Started my tank 3yrs ago and I came here for my equipment along with an assortment of fish. I still have fish from then in my tank up to this day! Knowledgeably staff and all around polite people. Anything fish ->Francisco is the guy. Expert level!

Bought a sun conure here back in January 2020! It was a great addition to the family and we are so happy with our bird!

I went there today and the place is very small and crowded, you could barely move around. all the animals are crammed together. The guinea pig in the window has ringworm and the animals are overpriced. they need to take better care of their animals, they all look sad and sick.

Great staff, very organized, very clean; where I have been going for many years as well as my family. Amazing and clean fish tanks, always presentable. Recommend to everyone !!!

First time here and very impressed with their fish... Im a freshwater fish hobbyist and the tanks were gorgeous, brightly lit and impeccably clean, knowledgable staff knew about the stock well and told me tanks are cleaned daily and scrubbed weekly and it showed. Nice selection of fish and all looking vibrant and healthy; prices are very fair. Fish supplies of all types, budget to high-end. Even some fully-loaded tank setups, personal touch instead of the manufactured look. Tough to find a good fish shop like this. Ill be back.

I dont like this place at all. The redheaded lady who runs this store always has a nasty attitude and wont allow you to stay in the store for longer than five minutes. In addition, they are so overpriced with all their supplies and animals. Speaking of the animals, they dont seem to take care of them at all. They barley have food and they have to share a tiny cage among themselves. One time I saw that their birds were all hurt, and around easter time, they put about 50 dyed chicks and a small cage. I also dont think they keep the animals cages clean or the store itself. Yes it is a pet store, but it doesnt have to smell like jungle. I think this store should get closed down or new employees that actually care about animals and their health are hired.

I cannot believe the beautiful job they did on our princess Diana. A rescue that we have been blessed to give a new happy life to and we love her new bedazzled look! The groomer did the best job on our Maltese and after 30 + years of using grooming services I have never been this thrilled. Her cut was perfect and almost all her stains were removed except for some of the tear stains from her eyes. She was so badly matted that we had to shave her all the way down and the groomer gave her the cutest cut salvaging her ears and tip of the tail. The center was shaved and she sparkled with a golden bindi in the center of her forehead it was just TOO CUTE! :D thank you so much for helping us give this princess a great new life ladies!

I adopted my Onay from that pet shop and im in love. They were very welcoming talkative and friendly. Very clean and organized. Ill adopt more pets from them when the time comes.

This store is awful. I ventured in looking for a puppy, well aware of the puppy mill stigma that plagues all pet shops. Nevertheless, I figured I would go in and give this place a shot. I have about of decade of experience with dogs and dog health.I walked into this shop and immediately took a step back - it smelled that bad. I walked in and the floor was disgusting. I was standing there as the attendant was in her own world. After about 5 minutes she comes over and asks what I want. I ask to see the puppies. She takes me to a back room that smells twice as bad as the store.These conditions arent your typical pet store conditions. You know what I mean if youve been to or worked at even a slightly reputable shop. Its not the regular smell that accompanies a group of dogs sharing a living space. No, this is the we allow our dogs to pee and defecate wherever they please and dont bother cleaning it up for hours. This place is an abomination. Anyone who lives in this area should not support even the supply portion of the store until they get rid of their dogs.

This is our only groomer from the first day of service. Our dachshund doesnt like many people but took to the groomer there immediately. she snuggled into her right out of my arms and is always glad to see her. For almost half of what other places charge you can get your furfamily canine washed, clipped and newly clothed. WE LOVE IT! The one star loss is really me being picky I think. Sometimes when we pick her up she has this powdery stuff on her. Im not sure if it is dry shampoo or insect repellant of some sort. Other than that best place for the price.

I have had this place as a 1# to go for fish place I bought a oranda and fantail the fantail died of a disease and oranda survived R.I.P fantail my tank is now full of commons koi orandas and ranchus also fantails and Cory’s overall 100% would recommend this place is amazing guys!!

This place is disgusting, all the animals are pregnant, and not taken care of. There must have been 5 pregnant hamsters in a 10 gallon tank with 6 other hamsters. Same thing with the mice. They had an African Grey in there for the longest time that was so stressed out she was plucking her own feathers out. She was practically naked. This place is always dirty and the workers are not friendly toward customers.One time I went in there and there was a fish floating upside down and I mentioned it to the man and he said he just had gas, but no, it was definitely dead.

Super upset. I brought my dogs here to get groomed and thought they would be attended in a timely manner. Two + hours later Im called that my dog doesnt want to get out of the cage and is not cooperating. Could it be because he was stuck in a small room, on a cage for over two hours with a bunch of other barking dogs? Mind you, my dogs are large so theyre not used to being closed in. If this is how they operate then a heads up wouldve been nice. Why on earth do I need an appointment then? Never going back thats for sure.

We bought our Schnoodle there about a year ago and had the best experience. They really let us bond with her before we got her, and they treat her like a family member whenever we walk her over (sometimes to groom her, pick up supplies, or just out for a walk). She goes tearing up the sidewalk as soon as she realizes where she is and gets so excited! Theyve answered so many questions even after we got her (ie 1st teeth, heat issues). They also have the cutest puppies in there!

Has everything I need, a bit of a smell, great decorating, if you are looking for a cat you wont have much luck cause they dont have breeders, and grooming is great so they pretty much a really good shop for supplies, fish, parrots, dogs, not so much for cats cause random people find stray cats and give them to them, so overall its a great place.

They are the best place if you love your pets.
