Do NOT shop here and support this store. they have axolotls that are not being properly cared for. they are extremely malnourished, which is also part of why they are missing parts of their limbs...axolotls are cannibalistic if not fed enough especially as babies. they shouldn’t be on sand at this size because they can get impacted and die. and it looks like they are living in very poor water conditions as well. these creatures are magical and hold the secrets of regeneration. they are studied so that humans may some day be able to regenerate body parts too. they deserve better than this! 😭😡

I went here with my big family and i live it. The cashier was so nice and let me hold the ferrets. The stores and the people in it are so nice but I personally dont think I cant get my ferret here. They are about $300 dollars. The ferrets are so cute but the budget is high. They have aleast 12 ferrets. They all seemed like babys and only one or 2 seemed like adults. They were so cute. I recommend here.

They were super helpful. I have an older dog who started limping after going on a camping trip, they hooked her up with glucosamine treats that were super affordable and she was walking fine in 2 days. Products are great, people are great. If youre looking for a place to shop where everyone involved is an animal lover this is your place.

But another good employee walked in to me and helped me nicely. Groom my puppy.Staff in the store was very helpful and knowledgeable and helped me nicely to pick perfect things for my puppy

For the most part... I havent had a bad experience at Pet Kare. Once or twice, I did find it a little hard to get an employee to help me. As they were busy stocking shelves. And others were with customers. At the back of the store. Where the cages or kennels are. But, once able to get an employees attention for help I had no problems. The employees were nice and very helpful.

Please see the videos and picture of their disgusting and blatant ABUSE of the axolotls. As a veterinarian and axolotls owner, this is beyond appalling. The store should be closed down for this.

DO NOT SHOP HERE. The way the animals look, they seem to be abused by the employees. The store is very dirty. They treat the animals, especially the birds, very badly.One of the employees handled a cockatoo bird very aggressively. She stepped on its tail in order to grab it from the floor..Also, the macaw bird seemed very afraid of one of the employees. When the employee would walk near the bird, it would scream and walk away.The fish tanks looked very dirty and unkept. It smells rotten when you go near them.Although I am not a licensed professional or a vet, I do own a cat and an Indian ring neck. I am basing my information and knowledge from caring for them and observing their behaviors.In the past, I also took both of my pets to PetKare to have their claws trimmed short. However, I have done that twice now and in both occurrences, the job was done poorly as they would leave two of my cats claws untrimmed.Please report their store and employees for their poor care and service to these animals. These animals deserve to feel at peace and find a good home.

So from the beginning.... me and my boyfriend saw one of their dogs online and thought we’ll check him out. We went to the store and fell I love with the dog. Me and the dog even had the same birthday lol. So we asked an employee about the dog and he lead us to his very rude manager. I get people have bad days but her attitude was horrible. If you hate your job QUIT. I was going to pay the outrageous $1600 but we couldn’t support a business where the MANGER is flat out rude. Thankfully I found an amazing/ loving doodle from a local breeder and paid nearly half the price.

I should have read the reviews first. I bought two Molly’s and an algae eater and quarantined them as I conditioned my tank. All of the fish died and now my fish that I’ve had for a while is sick with Ich. I don’t think it’s going to make it. When the fish started dying they replaced one of them but I don’t even want to go back to get anything from there anymore now that they are all dead. They comped my ich treatment but at this point I’m over it. I’ve had fish for years and never got ich. There’s cobwebs in the isles and nothing there looks like it can live for longer than a week. I bought my whole tank sent up from there when I moved here and I’m about to throw it away. Stay away if can, the reviews are true. They need to put the energy that they had in printing colored photos on the wall of shame into professionally maintaining the store. At this point I feel like I was robbed. Go to another store if you want to keep a healthy maintained aquarium.

Nice store. Has alot of cool pets and a great selection of stuff to care for just about any pet. I have 2 reptiles that eat crickets and I will gladly make the drive to come here to get them to the price. Its cheaper than the big name stores. I wouldnt buy any of their reptiles tho. They are way overpriced. A regular bally for anything over 50 bucks is a rip off cuz of how common they are. And Im not sure if its a Delaware thing but needing a permit for basic reptiles isnt a thing whre I come from. I get y they would want that but its not worth all that for those prices. The other thing I didnt like was how they just had tanks laying anywhre thre was room for them and no prices posted for any of them. Overall im pretty happy with the store and will go back for future pet needs.

Today I came here looking for a new addition to my fish tank. I have a peaceful community fish tank and wanted to add a peaceful addition from the cichlid family.Originally I came looking to buy a few discus but after seeing them I changed my mind. They were not swimming around, they looked stressed out, swimming in place at the top of the tank and 3 discus were at the bottom of the tank dead. I was really upset as I had my heart set on getting discus’. I assume they were under stress from their water condition. (Discus are hard to catch, find and hard to bread )However, I saw this beautiful fish in a top fish tank all alone with no tag and no price. Long story short, I was told it was a geophagus brasiliensis for 35.99. When I got home I actually noticed that she is not a geophagus brasiliensis but rather a threadfin acara. Also, she has hole in head disease. I noticed walking around that most tanks looked unhealthy and most had atleast one dead fish in them. I also bought 2 red parrot fish who were in a tank with fish who looked like they had ich. I hope my fish don’t have any serious issues/die and they don’t spread anything to the other fish in my community tank. I am slowly regretting buying fish from here.I thought I was safe buying from a fish in a different tank but I see now that is not the case.Also, one of the parrot fish has blackish tips probably due to ammonia burn. I probably won’t be buying fish here again. The tanks in this store need serious cleaning and more frequent water charges.

Very disappointed in Pet Kare. Their dogs for sale range between $2000.00 and $3000.00 and they dont offer a payment plan. Who in todays economy can afford that kind of money! I would not recommend Pet Kare if you are looking for a dog. Unless, of course, youre RICH!

Phew...where do I start??? The puppies are kept in depressingly small cages with water bottles made for rodents. The rodents are kept in tanks hardly big enough for ONE of them. I watched a hamster chew the glue on the inside of a 20 gallon fish tank which obviously cant be healthy for it. Bought a small rat for our snake....who ended up terrified by it...so needless to say I have a brand new pet. The poor rat is sickly. Sneezing and coughing, it probably has an upper respiratory infection I scoped all the pets.. most of the fish had ich and most of the tanks had dead/dying fish. All of the animals are ridiculously over priced 2 stars because staff was friendly.edited to 1 star. the rat I purchased 3 days ago passed away. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE HEALTH OF YOUR POSSIBLE PET BEFORE PURCHASE!

Best place ever I got 2 goldfish from here, they lived for 1 year, I have always gotten fish food from there. Best place ever.

They always order my pets food and it is always available when I come in to pick it up.

I understand the cdc relaxed indoor mask rules for fully vaccinated people, but you can still catch and transmit the virus to the immunocompromised, so I was disappointed to see half the staff not wearing masks. The puppy set up is heartbreaking. Small cages filled with mill puppies costing exponentially more than an ethical breeder would charge. No one loves a local business more than me, but I won’t be giving them anymore of my money.

This is one of the worst pet stores. Really all the animals are in poor condition in terms of space, food, treatment. Today I was there and it really broke my heart to see a macaw trying to fly and they had her tied up and maybe like this all day in the same position, her tail was injured, it had no feathers in one part. Im not going to ask you not to buy your pets here, on the contrary, please buy and so you can save one of these poor little animals.

I’ve been reading these comments and seriously they couldn’t be more wrong I went in on Saturday was greeted with friendly staff everything was so clean and tidy they have everything known to man in this store for pets. I was particularly looking at the fish and they were so healthy I spent my Saturday looking for a new fish tank sadly they didn’t have the size I wanted but they do have the fish I want so today I will be returning to pick up some beautiful fish to bring home

The staff is very knowledgeable in regards to all breeds of animals. They go above and beyond customer care.

I’ve never been to Pet Kare before today and it was great!! I got a hamster from there today and their associate Dylan was so lovely and helpful and sweet. I’ll definitely be back 😁😁

This place is just OK. I bought my third ferret from here and he is Awesome !!! I paid way too much and I would have went somewhere else, but when I met my little guy I totally loved him. This store is very well stocked on just about every pet need that you may have, but in my opinion they are Way overpriced.!!! As for the staff, they are fantastic. So, bottom line is if you shop around you could save yourself about 30%, if your not on a budget this place is for you.

They didnt do a very good job cutting my dogs nails!

They keep puppies in TINY cages and give them water like hamsters. Puppies need stimulation, but here they’re not able to move around in their tiny kennel. They pee in their own beds and have zero care. I can’t believe this store is allowed to even do something like that. Adopt don’t shop. I hope something is done about this, because it’s not right for any animal to live in these circumstances.

One of the last real pet stores left around. They are great. Have basically anything you could want, for just about any animal you have. I really like them because its a local shop, that does it right.

This is a great place! The customer service is excellent and they have plenty of merchandise in stock. There are some amazing live animals here, I especially love the Macaw! Even if youre not in the market for a new pet, the experience is worth the stop! Keep up the great work everyone!

I bought a pair of female rats February 27, 2021. I was concerned that one would cough occasionally. Sierra assured me they were OK. Both appear to have upper respiratory infection and it will cost quite a bit for vet appointment for both. I called Petcare. They said they cant help. I asked if they treat their own sick rats. They said yes. I then asked if they can help with medication. I was put on hold then they hung upUpdate. Manager Allison will treat our rats for us. I just have to bring them in 2x per day.

The dogs in the cages says enough. The dogs are put in tiny cages with no beds or toys. And all the dogs are puppies, and puppies need to be stimulated with toys and attention, but there is nothing in their cages. they are basically sitting in their own pee because there are trays that catch the pee under the cages. Reminds me of puppy mills. So disgusting

Please, please don’t come here and buy a pet. they come from pet mills and if you don’t know what that it is please do research. they don’t care about the pets at all but the money. pet kare give the puppies water that is used for hamsters to drink instead of a proper bowl, the cages are very small even shelters are larger. therefore please adopt.

I love the pet store dont get me wrong but me and my husband went today to try to adopt a puppy and there was no puppies in that kennel anything less than $2,000. I was told because the breeders are raising the prices because of the pandemic and they know people are meeting pets to keep them busy and occupied and something to love during covid or basically the quarantine which in other words the breeders are taken advantage of peoples loneliness and to me that makes me upset what about the people that lost loved ones due to covid they have to pay arm and a leg for a puppy? I am very appalled by this

Absolutely terrible! Took my shitzu to get a cut and thats how they brought him back. The barber a.k.a butcher looked high and claimed she could cut him correctly because he got aggressive. Dont ever bring your dog to them to get groomed, I will go back to Petsmart, where they routinely been cutting his hair and there was never a problem that they couldnt handle. P.s Drug test you employees

The treatment of their puppies says enough! They’re kept in tiny cages with hamster water bottles to drink out of, and no type of bedding. The animals spend 24 hours on wire cages and they use the bathroom under them instead of being taken outside at all . It’s hard to explain without seeing photos so please research and do your part this isn’t how innocent loving dogs should be treated. Please adopt instead of shopping at someplace that supports puppy mills.

I love the animals and the workers are amazing especially Mark Green. Hes awesome everytime we visit.

Poor conditions, they use the bathroom in their same cages, It just sits underneath them in this tray. They get water out of hamster water bottles and the cages are super cramped and tiny. Dogs and puppies need room to move around and be able to stretch out... these are no way for poor animals to live like this, it’s disgusting.

Just bought a puppy from there (yes, I know, adopt dont shop). Hes a 3 mo poodle and since Im allergic to dogs and hes hypoallergenic, its perfect. Hes very healthy. The cages could have been cleaner. And theres a 15 min play window. The store has a nice selection. We took the dog back to buy something else and everyone recognized him and he was happy to see them.

We went to buy my son a rabbit so glad they sell them here. I thought I could go to any pet store and buy one. Apparently not! But the guy who worked here helped us very much. He informed us about everything the rabbit needed. He was very patient and answered all of the questions we were asking. He seemed very knowledgeable. Will definitely be back!

Store was well stocked and clean, but the prices on the dogs are a bit outrageous. The cheapest puppy was around 2 grand. I get they were all pur breds but still. Just my opinion.

Hello, good day, please manage you pets properly. I have seen many dogs and cats in tiny cages without bedding, and clean water. They are extremely bored and deserve a lot more care. I hope you can keep these pets in good condition. If you can buy these pets do so! to keep them from this mistreatment.

Horrible. They let me, a young, uneducated first time owner buy TWO TORTOISES FROM THE SAME TINY CONTAINER! They said they were family to sell us two of them. Thats unhealthy they need huge 4x5 containers for ONE of them.. they put 2 of them in a tiny little 40 gallon fish tank. The conditions are absolutely horrible the fish are mostly dead; the puppies are in too small confinements and look very stressed. Other than that Id say the birds look okay for the most part but they probably dont get any exercise at all for their wings. Also ALL the puppies are (last time I went there) are all born October 2020? Definitely from a puppy mill.. I hope they have a huge lawsuit coming their way.. ADOPT DONT SHOP!

Hunter was an amazing salesperson. He was extremely knowledgeable about the reptiles and the puppies. He helped me make a very difficult decision about a golden doodle that I am now in love with. I wish there were more customer service representatives like Hunter.

Just got a kitten from here. Usually try to adopt (I have 3 grown babies) but adopting a kitten is very difficult because of high demand. I was allowed 10 minutes with him while employees stood in watched, so I didnt want to be rude and check him for fleas, plus we werent allowed to pick him up. Get home, check him with a flashlight..... he is COVERED IN THEM!!!! They make you sign a contract that says the animal is healthy, at least VISUALLY, to them. One look at this babys stomach and you would be able to tell he has fleas so this is BS!!!! do not shop here!!!! Im glad he wasnt given to the wrong people who wouldnt want to pay even more to treat him.

VERY unsanitary and overpriced! i was shocked at how much my dogs food cost here compared to petco and petsmart. Refuse to bring my dog here due to the fear of him catching a disease. they sell puppies here from PUPPY MILLS and the poor pups are trapped in tiny smelly cages with no food and water from a HAMSTER WATER DISPENSER??? not sure how this disgusting place is even open

This was my first time to this store. I love it! I found turtle food for a good price. The workers were pleasant & helpful. They have a lot of creatures to look at!! - lizards, birds, gerbils, fish, chinchillas & even ferrets!! I talked with a customer who had her 5 pet guinea pigs with her in the store! Great visit! I will return.

It is a hit or miss with this place. Depending on the staff members ...some can be very pleasant, where others make you feel as if youre bothering them.

I used to love going to Pet Kate II but some reason (dont know if its COVID 19) its not up to its usual high standards. The fresh water fish area is in bad shape. The Oscars had what appeared to be ick on them. There was almost no feeder fish and half of the tanks seemed to have low water and/or a dead fish on the fiteation vacuum. The cats and rodents looked like they were in great shape. But when I used to think of Pet Kate II, I used to think of a miniature aquarium. The item I purchased is not the quality I was expecting or what I paid for it. Hope they get back to their old ways.

Love this pet store! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. All sorts of animals ready for a new home. We enjoy seeing the resident macaw whenever we stop by to pick up our cats list of demands.

Recently purchased a baby bunny from here. Mark was extremely helpful and friendly. The rest of the staff not so much which is unfortunate when you want people to support small businesses.
