This store is great however when I go there. The cashier never has exact change. It bad business for the company. Get it together ppl!

This store has drastically improved over the last year to year and a half. The employees are helpful and not on their phones or listening to music. The lines move quicker and items are most always in stock.

They have a female there who is always so helpful I love her she the best makes my trips there worth it

The store is well-stocked. You could easily find basic household items here. One downside to shopping heres that there are usually long lines at checkout. Friendly and polite staff though. There are handicap parking space. Its wheelchair accessible.

It was a convenient stop, but I hate going in there. Theres always a line, and they usually dont have any sense of urgency in order to move the line faster. And thats if they have what Im looking for.

I only love rite around the corner from this store location so I am in here ritually. Everytime i go in theres always boxes in the middle of the aisles, nothing is the rite place. One lady had an issue with her bottle of laundry soap (same bottle i was about to buy) it was half empty as were all the bottles of the same brand. People are always in there stealing something. Their workers are all rude, miserable and dont care about the customers. I bought a pair of pjs from just yesterday and i asked the lady before i left if she took the security tag off and she said yes. Of course when i got home and went to put them on it So was still on there.. Not the first that has happened. I had to go all the way back to the store in the rain (i dont have a vehicle so i had to walk) the lady who was at the register had such a bad attitude, she didnt greet me, apologize for their mistake, or anything. She was very rude... They need to really scan the people they hire there. Only employees who have some sort of respect for customers is their security team, and the gentleman who is always doing the stocking.

Isle need to be cleaned and the racks need to be stack more inappropriately and sorted accordingly. Wheres management?? Anybody ??

Ive been here more than twice and each time was a good shopping experience. They usually have what Im looking for and always have deals. There not too pricey. There are some problems tho! They have some snotty female staff. When I need help with something it takes about 10 mins to find someone to ask. And when its time to check out there is ALWAYS only 1 register open making it a huge line and about 20 min to pay and leave.

The employees are very rude

Although they have good stuffs for school, but the two people i met working there were rude, especially that female cashier, shes so rude!!! I had homework to do and i wanted to quickly buy my stuff but with her rudeness, i just had to leave. Peope have weakness but people should still overpower them. How i wish i didnt meet that female cashier. Shes a bit slim.

First I must say when there are long lines there is only one cashier. Its like that in all of their stores. Its a shame you have only one cashier whereas the other workers ate sometimes stocking or doing whatever and people are standing for long periods of time. FAMILY DOLLAR NEED TO GET IT TOGETHER! If it was not for the customers tou would not be un business!

Location Clinton Ave. In Newark. I stood in line with one person in front of me that was being rung up for about 10 minutes with people in line behind me. The cashier waited until I laid my items on the counter and she said Im closed after that lady. Thought she meant me. She was referring to the lady that was in front of me. So now had to go to the other line that was a long wait. Will not shop there again. So disrespectful.

Small but its good enough for me, quick runs fit basic supplies.. Great customer service ....

In and out had what I wanted so Im satisfied with that location

If i could rate it 0 stars I would horrible cashiers theyre rude and selective about when they choose to help guest. The store is always untidy. Only one line ALWAYS..... non friendly people once you get to the front of the line. Experience was horrible this store need to rehire and change the system they have in the store because its always slow !!!!!!! Never again I will advoid this store by all cost !

They are nasty and they don’t follow the return and exchange policies I wouldn’t recommend anyone to shop here the supervisor tye is disgusting even though I have my receipt and I did not exceeded the 30 days return policy I only have the item for seven days will never spend my money there again!!!!!!!!!

Unprofessional and ratchet. While she was ringing me up, the cashier was busy talking to some little unaccompanied kid who was playing in a nearby shopping cart. So she rang up one item twice. I didnt notice until Id left the store. I went right back in and told the cashier shed rung me up twice. She yelled for a manager, telling her I have a return. Instead of, I rang up an item twice. The manager approached and w/o even looking at me said, She need to get back in line. (Not an English major, I guess.) So, the ignorant cashier makes an error & they make me get back in line. Rude and ratchet. Then, when they finally do the refund, they give me the wrong amount back. So, they had to correct it. At least the cashier apologized for the sitch. But not that hoodrat mgr. Now I usually would NEVER use words like hoodrat, ghetto, or ratchet to describe people. I always found those terms offensive. But then I moved to hoods in Jersey. This Family Dollar: Ratchet. Hood. Ghetto. It is what it is. Now Id been in that store before and some staff were helpful and polite. But, like some other reviewers have mentioned, some cashiers--like the one Ive referenced here--spoil that place for shoppers.

Horrible!! Never an option for cash back, everything is always locked up, the store is always a mess, line always to the back of the store with one cashier.. mind you they are always hiring.. who are they hiring?? Ghost??

The female cashiers act like they have an attitude or dont want to be there. Majority of the time there is only one lane open which moves snail slow. The store is generally mess and the wait time could be avoided if they open the other lane more frequently.
