Ive not been in a Giant Eagle in years, now I remember why. My first stop was to the service desk where I was met with the unfriendly face of Sherry. She did not greet me, she was not polite, she barely even looked at me. Her eyes said to me she was disgusted that I needed a Giant Eagle card and you could also hear it in her voice. Thats the way to win over new customers, 0% enthusiasm.I had just been to the Kroger down the same road, it was beautiful, looked new, fresh and a store resembling something a big city would accommodate. Great prices, friendly employees, better products. Giant eagle looked like an old warehouse with dark walls and ceilings, it was like I had went back in time, thought I dont mind a little nostalgia, the prices were horrible for 1987. $8.99 for a container of peanut brittle... really? Sorry Sherry, you can keep your Giant Eagle card, I wont be back.

I know this might sound weird but I really like going into giant eagle by myself . It is so relaxing for me. Nice music and not too crowded

Im only rating the Bakery as Ive really never shopped there.However, they have the BEST cakes Ive ever had!! They do a wonderful job on decorating. The Bakery staff is very friendly and accommodating! I ordered the 1st cake I got from there because they were the only place I could find to do it on short notice. It was FABULOUS! BEST buttercream icing around!!I just ordered my 2nd cake for a special occasion from them and it was perfect! This one was for a baby shower for my youngest daughters first baby! Unfortunately, I was so busy cooking, visiting and trying to eat in between that I didnt even get a pic of the cake! 🤦Ill never order a cake from anyplace else! Great prices too.

Got my covid vaccine here! The staff is very polite ans friendly. Place was clean and all the cdc guidelines were followed. Had a good experience here.

Always stocked, always clean and employees are always friendly. Prices are most likely going to be a little higher than most but I personally think its more than worth it for the experience.

The sole reason to go to Giant Eagle is because they have, by far, the best bakery in Newark/Heath. However, something bad has happened over the past two months. The bakery is making donuts and other baked goods that are no where near the quality of previous. Whether its new staff or what, please bring us back the high quality bakery that we remember Giant Eagle by?! :-(

Great and clean store but only one person named Isis was working on the register while everyone was just standing around talking. Embarrassing that the work is put onto one person, I’ll only be back for her great customer service. That’s why places like this can’t keep people.

Friendly people, clean,fair prices

This place is not for me. First off, the prices are super high compared to surrounding grocery stores. I paid $30 for a large ice cream cake I could get at another store for $17. But giant eagle was close to work and I was running late. And when I went to check out, I found out you can not even check out without their advantage card. I dont have one, could not find a way to bypass it. I literally stood in the middle of the checkout stand spinning n shouting hello?!... but no one come to help; despite me having just seen associates stocking bread an aisle away. I almost got the feeling they avoid their check-out area for this reason. Regardless, it was very unwelcoming.

The employee here are great, unfortunately the rest of the store doesnt hold up to the quality of other Giant Eagle stores Ive frequented. Part of it is due to a smaller location so the selection is more limited, but we also had several disappointing experiences with the produce freshness/quality. We tried giving them a pass due to the pandemic, but other local grocery stores didnt have the same issue. I think Giant Eagle as a whole has great items, prices, and staff, but this location isnt up to the same standard. I feel bad leaving a review that is less than glowing because the staff there has been so helpful and I dont want them getting pressured over things that arent their fault, but I also want to help people who are trying to decide where to shop. I think they need to expand this location and put more focus on getting quality perishables if they want to stay competitive. Maybe have the GetGo in the same complex as well, but Im sure thats a logistical nightmare.

Nice grocery store with the only state liquor store in town.

Cafe area for eating alone or dining with others. We, on New Years Day picked up scrumptious baked chicken, hot & ready to eat. Prime 24pc. for only $29.99, hot & ready too eat. We served family guests, then had a late Christmas Gift 🎁 Exchange & had plenty left over for several more meals.

Bought a bottle of Crown Royal reg. flavor. When we opened for our celebration we all noticed that the flavor was not there, it was weak and the color was light.. The shrink band over the cap was not tight and came off in its entirely. I think the bottle was tampered with. I will never trust this store again.

Well-maintained nice clean grocery store, a little busy when I was there. Parking isn’t the greatest. However like I said it was pretty busy. The liquor store has a good selection and do you know?It’s a giant eagle, it’s a big grocery store, what exactly are expecting here?

Staff is always helpful you do pay about the same as or better than Walmart but also get better quality never got bad food or bad treatment also liquor department is usually 1hr longer than newark Kroger

We really like Giant Eagles, wish there is 1 in Zanesville, Ohio. We cant find Maple Nut ice cream in Zanesville so we bought 6 of them, Perrys brand

Went at 8 am. Produce shelves were quite empty as were others. Prices for things not on sale very high. Only buy things here I cant get anywhere else. Have best bakery and meat in town. Catering items are great too. Best to pre order what you want from bakery.

Clean items laid out nice however prices on several items that I bought were not the same price as on the shelf. Marked as sale price but after checking receipt prices sold were as much as 83 cents more.

The store is close by. Its always clean has good stock but prices tend to be high.

Oh my goodness. We walked in to get a few last things for New Year’s Eve, as soon as we walked in there was a blond cashier that immediately yelled at us because we walked in the wrong door. I’m not kidding when I say yelled either. Then when we were checking out there was another couple that weren’t wearing masks and a front end lady was yelling at them for not having masks on. The customer told her she had already had Covid but she will wear a mask next time. Then the same blonde girl yelled at them when they were leaving and told them if they have already had Covid they didn’t need to be coming into her store! Honestly it was embarrassing to watch and just made a terrible look for this store.

The store is always clean, the shelves are stocked and organized, and the staff is very helpful -- always looking for ways to help get us thru checkout and have even helped get everything to the car!!! And the fuel perks program is best in class and allows us to really stretch our dollar!!

I appreciate that Giant eagle is clean and typically not very crowded. A little pricier and some alternatives, but very convenient.

Staff sometimes discourteous. Self serve machines difficult to navigate without Giant Eagle card. Selection good. Prices can be steep. Sale prices great.

Prices are drastically higher than that their stores. Any 5 times and you’re north of $100. Also, the customer service is horrible and the checkout machines and checking out altogether is atrocious every time. It’s never a good experience. Took 20 minutes to checkout 3 items. I avoid here.

They don’t have a liquor store

Monday June 15th the I assume cashier over the self check out was very rude while me and my wife while we were there. Stating that my id was expired which in fact it is. Which I understand but my wife had her id and mine clearly stated I was over 21 just expired by a couple DAYS then she says that if I attempt again the police will be called????? I didnt mind the id issue it was just how she handled it was very unprofessional

Im just going to be honest. I go to Giant Eagle for their alcohol section. Chances are you will find what you are looking for. They have a good beer section. The wines are vast, and they have a full liquor store. I dont shop there for anything else, but they do have what I am looking for.

I really like to shop here they seem to have what I need except during the pandemic which if they cant get the product it is not their fault. They very seldom carry cagfiene free pepsi which is what we have have by our doctors. I ask for it and they say they cant get any in.

The cafe inside has great food. The people are great too. Giant eagle also has a public restroom. Huntington Bank is also found inside. They also have a great bakery staff.

Nice store and atmosphere inside. Prices are higher than Aldi & Kroger. Like getting fuel perks, but not at the expense of higher food prices.

The birthday cake is great and value-added. Everything else is overpriced. the kids and I had some overpriced but still delicious Louisiana style sweet BBQ chicken. The place was adequately staffed with friendly people. the Huntington Bank that is inside the Giant Eagle is probably its best feature. they are properly staffed with knowledgeable caring people theyre not afraid to make a phone call to find out an answer to a question theyre not sure of.

Busy place but everything was well stocked and most registers were open. Kudos to management for keeping the machine oiled. Even more for the employees for keeping the positive attitude during a very busy night.

The store is always clean and stocked. The staff is kind and professional. I laughed a bit watching folks go the wrong way dow. The aisles.

The store itself is very nice. Most of the prices are on the high end. Even with the Giant Eagle discount card the prices are approximately 50 cents higher than Walmarts prices.

Deceptive selling tactics they mix sale items with high priced items and charge the high price this is in produce with a no return policy due to corona issuesThe gas discounts are a scam when you go to redeem and the local prices are cheaper than the discount you have earned paying full priceWhat a rip off

I visited Giant Eagle at about 9:30 PM. I found what I needed and headed to the check lanes. When I got there there were no regular lanes open, only self check out lanes. ATTENTION GIANT EAGLE! ALSO KROGER, WALMART AND ANY OTHER CHAIN GOING TO THESE MISERABLE THINGS! CUSTOMERS DO NOT LIKE THEM! If I want to work at your store, I will come in in the morning and I will ask for an application. These systems do nothing for the customer. They serve only to reduce internal costs and short change employees. If you expect me to do the work of your otherwise under paid staff, I expect fifteen dollars an hour, health benefits, and paid time off. Until then, do away with this. customer non-service.

Went got what i needed and got out 5 minutes tops

Have always loved this store until today. In town for my sisters graduation, went to the bakery to pick up the cake for my parents the lady couldnt have been more of a jerk. We stood there for a few minutes getting ignored while one woman supervised another decorating a cake. The attitude towards us was completely unnecessary, and the decorating skills were amateur. Not impressed and would recommend never getting custom cakes through that bakery between the horrible attitude, cheesy decorating, and high price for this lovely experience.

Went in to get 10 steaks for a big cookout from the meat case. Sign read At Lunch be back at 4:30 pm it was 3:45 pm. Was not waiting that long. Stopped on the way out at the office and asked if it was common practice not to staff that area on a busy Friday night.... The answer was Yes... I set down a few items I had picked up and said Good Bye then walked out. Not the customer service experience I have come to expect from Giant Eagle.

Had some good produce sales this week. Clean store with friendly staff. Is much prices than competitors so I only recommend for sale items.

I used to love to shop here. The produce was so fresh and the bakery always had the best cakes. But I stopped going after I tried to buy a flower arrangement from the floral department. The floral lead, Layla, was incredibly rude to me and the whole experience was so upsetting I decided to never go back. Looks like Im a Kroger customer now.
