Today my husband and I purchased a sectional couch with an ottoman from Robert’s Furniture. The associate assisting us, Jack, did an excellent job helping us find exactly what we wanted and ensured it would fit our living room and style. We have looked all over but did not receive the outstanding level of customer service we received from Jack. Many of the items we were shown were exactly what we were looking for, in stock and available for delivery next week. We just recently went back to Roberts on Denbigh after having such an excellent experience with them almost a year to the day last year! Jack and the other Wednesday afternoon gentleman were the same employees we previously dealt with. Both have excellent customer service skills and a no pressure approach. This time we were in the market for a new sofa and loveseat set. We found a set we liked, but wanted to look around at a couple places before committing. We actually went over to the Yorktown location as well and had a terrible experience with the employee there and came back to work with Jack on a set we found at the Yorktown location. Jack hooked us up with that set and scheduled delivery for the following week. When our set was delivered on Friday, one of the clips was broken and they had someone out on Tuesday to replace it free of charge. The delivery people and the repair man were all exceptional. We have recommended Roberts to three families since this most recent experience.Additionally, in our search with other retailers, we found out due to COVID, delivery windows were 10-12 weeks for all merchandise. Fortunately, Roberts has their own stock warehouse with quite a lot of product which cuts that long wait window out. Jack did tell me that if we wanted a different color than what was on the floor, it would take that 10-12 weeks to come in.

I visited the store once prior to returning again today. Jack was extremely helpful. I purchase a 4 piece sectional and a TV console. I cant wait to get it delivered. It was great working with Jack. He had the ticket pre-written and all I had to do was pay. Thanks Jack, Ill be shopping there again.

We had been to several places to look for a Queen size mattress to go into a spare bedroom which gets used very little throughout the year. Roberts had a huge selection of mattresses and Jack, our salesman, was able to show us one that was excellent and within the budget that we wanted to spend. No pressure, no gimmicks, just good salesmanship! Thanks Jack and Roberts!

Failed to disclose that all sales are final and there are no returns/ exchanges. My parents with slightly limited English speaking abilities purchased an extremely overpriced living room 3 piece set (that can be head anywhere else for 50% less) that was supposedly leather, however it turns out only the seating surfaces are leather (about 33%). In addition the sofa, love seat and chair turned out to be extremely uncomfortable to sit on after more than 45 minutes. When I called to inquire about their return policy or exchanges I was told there are none, especially now because of covid. Seriously, because of covid but your stores are open and you ask me to hurry up with my question over the phone as your store is full? Finally, you let customers know that there are no returns /exchanges after you get their money - especially from elderly people?Please do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else as you will find much better and cheaper furniture - especially online! As much as I like supporting local and small businesses, it’s very shameful that people who are not technologically savvy get taken advantage of by these so called mom and pop stores.Buyer beware!Re: Response from ownerThanks for the response! However, I don’t exactly find your response adequate nor do I see how it addresses customer satisfaction or concern. Quiet frankly I find it rather contradictory. First time coming into the Newport News store. I was very pleased to come in and look around on my own. Most places you go to “stalk” you because they’re looking for commission on a sale...well that was not the case here and i liked that! We ended up purchasing a table to match some chairs we already have. The pricing and quality is very good. We will definitely be back in the future!

Never even got a hello when we came in. No smile, no conversation. Nothing. Looked at us like what are we doing here. I had to tell him what we were looking for and then he still stood by and did nothing. No customer service. We had to tell him what we wanted about two times and it still seemed like he didn’t understand. His small talk was very short and didn’t seem interested at all. When we said that we would take some items off the bat, his attitude improve because he saw there was a deal was on the table.I sat back and watched the whole thing as this happened. I work in customer service, I am a manager and I would never ever not say hello to a customer who comes into my store. We also we the only ones in the store at the time. Not good.Oh he made sure to sell that furniture insurance...Thanks but I’ll make sure to tell people to get the insurance somewhere else.Ps. He also took his mask off. Not cool.Pps. It really only started getting better when they had picked up furniture and he was doing paperwork! Man...PPPS. Another guy came in and actually said hello how are you which made it much better. What is going on?

Just purchased a home recently and I was looking for a bedroom set. I drove passed Roberts and decided to turn around and give it a shot. I wish I could remember the name of the guy who helped out but he was awesome. He was able to answer all of the questions I had and was not pushy at all. I found a 6 piece bed set that I liked and ended up purchasing it. I am very happy with the customer service that I received. I will definitely return if I need to purchase more furniture!

I literally got almost my whole apartment from Robert’s and every single piece is great material and I got it at a great price. The furniture is great but the delivering of the furniture is even better. Cody, Ross, Tim, and Dominick was all very professional and also humorous during the delivery. They wasn’t boring and aggressive acting instead they was relax, full of jokes and laughter. It was great customer service from those guys.

Ross and Jacob were my delivery guys and I must say that they are the best! I was given a window of 10-6 my delivery arrived at approx 1120am. Ross and Jacob are very professional and thorough. During the assembly they showed me how the furniture was put together to aid me when I have to take the furniture apart. They did an amazing job.

So just want to start off by saying that my partner and I have been researching furniture online and we went to a furniture store and just couldnt get over the prices. We went into Roberts Furniture & Mattress store on Denbigh Blvd. and when we walked in we were greeted by Mr. Leroy. We purchased a dining room set, a sectional, a mattress and bedroom set that I have to say I am very pleased with. Mr. Leroy got my monthly payments down to a price that I am very pleased with. All I have to say is thank you so much and I will definitely will be coming back in the near future!

I was lucky to have Leroy Rousseau help me with my furniture purchases. He was very helpful without being overbearing. He took care of everything and set up delivery for the next day. The delivery men, Brandon and Shane were great..friendly and experienced. They had quite a challenge when the sofa wouldnt fit through the front door and had to rethink their approach. They ended up hoisting it up from the ground to my 2nd floor balcony and through the sliding doors! Great place to buy furniture from beginning to end!

After visiting another furniture store, we came back to Roberts and made our purchase. Jack Westfall was very professional, helpful and friendly. We highly recommend Roberts Furniture and Mattress.

Both Leroy and Jack were quite helpful. I have shopped here before years ago and Leroy was just as pleasant. I have also shopped at other places since then (because they had cheaper prices), but I found that this stores quality is better and worth the little bit extra you may have to pay. But once instead of replacing things two years later. That being said they do have good prices.

I love to shop at Roberts Furniture on Denbigh Blvd. Most of my furniture in my house has come from there. I moved here 10 years ago, and William & Leroy (salesmen) were very nice to me from the 1st visit. I promised to return, which I have many times. Sometimes to browse, sometimes to purchase. I just purchased a dinette set for my daughter & son n law as a housewarming gift. They loved it, and I do too.Good quality furniture, nice sales people, and great prices. Go see Leroy tell him what you want and the man doesnt bs and gets right to it. It is a very comfortable environment and the delivery service is very friendly when they show up. They set up the furniture quickly and showed us everything we needed to know and what to do if we wanted to modify it. Will gladly visit again and recommend to my fellow service members coming into the area.

I just want to thank the people at Roberts Furniture and especially Shari for their help with the dinning room table we purchased at Christmas. Vicky and I really appreciated the courtesy and help we were shown. The original sale through Richard was great and the after purchase care has been everything we hoped it would be.

We heard about Roberts furniture through my boyfriends mom after already contemplating about a sectional at a different location the day prior. We decided to check it out and to our surprise we were able to find a sectional for a couple hundred dollars cheaper. We were met by Leroy who helped us with the application process. He was patient enough to make sure we were able to take home the sectional we wanted by matching the approval amount to the other furniture company we applied to the day before. We had a very pleasant experience and would most likely go back for future peices.
